1421  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is bitcoin price not dropping when sending fees are so high? on: December 17, 2017, 04:00:10 AM
- it is because transaction fees aren't that high. even if you are paying $12 per transaction, many still wouldn't mind. simply because even if you have invested $100 in bitcoin a couple of days ago when it was $15,000 now you have more than $126 and even if you pay $12 fee you still make $14 profit.

obviously nobody invests $100. with bigger investment the fee becomes negligible.

additionally it has not been that long since fees were this high. people may be unsatisfied about it, but it takes a lot longer and lot higher fees to make them change their minds about investing in bitcoin.
1422  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Interesting fact about BTC on: December 17, 2017, 03:52:23 AM
2. FBI owns 1.5% of world's BTC.

where you know 1.5% of bitcoin circulation holding by FBI ? any source fact or news?
i know FBI holding bitcoin from catching some fraudsters/scamer, but i dont know the more detail about it.

this is a classic FUD topic my friend.
he is giving a "big number" with a "big name" to create panic. and he uses the word "owns" as if they have bought that much to control. government agencies are not known to invest in assets!
they may seize some from criminals and hold it until court rules about it and then auction it but this is not  called "owning bitcoin".

and until he provides a source for his numbers, i call bullshit on all of them.
1423  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Learned so far, never sell Bitcoins out of panic in a dip! on: December 17, 2017, 03:44:17 AM
the important thing to remember in an investment is to learn how to find the balance between selling/buying/holding. because you need to do all of these to be successful.

when price goes up, it will come down. you can see that all over the charts and it takes a while before it stops and reverses. one of the ways to increase your investment is to sell before the dip and buy back in it.

and before is not that hard to recognize. just look at how much price has dropped from the top. if it is bigger than 15% it is already late.
1424  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How will you invest $110 usd ? in altcoins on: December 16, 2017, 02:03:44 PM
well $110 is nearly 0.0065BTC and that is a very small amount for trading altcoins in my opinion. i usually do it with at least 0.01BTC if i want to be extremely cautious and do it with 0.1BTC if i want to be a little more free.

anyways, the way i make investment is that i find those altcoins with either an ongoing pump or the altcoins that have something coming for them. for example there was this altcoin that was listed on poloniex a while back, the news came earlier and i caught it soon. so i bought and i could have turned $110 into $300 with one trade because of how much it went up.

repeat the process and you will have 1 whole bitcoin in no time.
1425  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: $BTC can break 18000 USD within this year? on: December 16, 2017, 01:13:57 PM
$BTC can break 18000 USD within this year?
it is not like $18000 is too far away to catch up to! it is only ~5% away. the more important question is will it go up there and stay.

Quote
so many holder for BTC, very hard to break 18000 USD
it has nothing to do with the rise. increasing demand or in other words the fresh money that keeps coming in bitcoin is what drives the price up.

Quote
How do you think about breaking 18000 USD within this year?
maybe temporarily, fast rise and a fast drop afterwards. but it is impossible to say at this point after this much rise!
1426  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Over 500 Billion dollars market cap, what if big investors cashes out on: December 16, 2017, 12:51:23 PM
When i am looking at a total market cap at Coinmarketcap, I cannot help but wonder what if a big investors in cryptocurrencies makes a move to cash out at this time.

what does the total market cap has anything to do with an investor cashing out!!!
altcoins get dumped left and right just because every investor (small or big) cashes out of them. specially when bitcoin price is rising.

Quote
And i'm sure that traditional bitcoin holders believe in HODL. But lately, the cash inflow that we have seen in this market is probably big institutional investors. And they will be looking to exit at some point with huge profits.
from day 1 in not only bitcoin but also any other market there are always people who are cashing out and people who are buying in. supply an demand. when those who are buying are bigger than those who are selling, price goes up and when those who are selling are more than those who are buying price comes down.
big or small investor doesn't make any difference they have always been selling at some point and world doesn't end when they do.
1427  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Super Bitcoin Wallet? on: December 14, 2017, 01:27:31 PM
last time i checked out their website, there were no wallet, no source code and no update anywhere to be seen.

you either have your bitcoin on an exchange (super risky move) and get the airdrop. or you have to wait and see even if they do really release something in a couple of months probably and claim it when it is safe and tested not to steal your bitcoins.
1428  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: An 8MB Block Found on the Bitcoin Cash on: December 14, 2017, 01:25:15 PM
Clears 37K Transactions

am i the only one who finds this number very strange?
i had to go check it out with my own eyes to believe it: https://bitcoincash.blockexplorer.com/block/000000000000000007a4afe23f9c4681ea37bb73b6070587e1503a08a4681e23

in case you are wondering why, i should say it is because bitcoin has 1 MB blocks and these blocks contain 2500 transaction on average. that means when you increase the size to 8 MB it should become 20,000 transactions at best on average not 37,800.

looking deeper in the transactions in the block you can see there are lots of them like this:
https://bitcoincash.blockexplorer.com/tx/b1634a2ac00b2a15e3c95a7ca6436b22f9513dae023d2c763f8dfb857b0dcc27
with only 1 input and 1 output which is extremely uncommon for normal usage because people are going to have some change in 90% of the times.

additionally if you check bitcoin's mempool https://blockchain.info/unconfirmed-transactions
there are currently 147,337 unconfirmed trasnaction with a total size of 251,592 kB or 1,707 Byte per transaction on average.
now you tell me how is it bitcoin transactions have more than 1 input and certainly more than 1 output but this particular block in BCH is like this?
1429  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do you run Statistics? on: December 14, 2017, 01:07:36 PM
i don't get where the confusion is coming from.

when you invest with fiat you earn profit on your fiat so you calculate your profit and save your statistics based on fiat. if it is USD then it is reported in USD, if it is CNY then it is reported in CNY.

the same thing is true when you invest with BTC. you get the profit on your BTC and also report it in BTC. any profit you make on bitcoin is an additional perk.
it is like trading with EUR when your local currency is USD and then EUR price going up against USD for some reason!
1430  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Switch to anonymous cryptocurrency due to govenment trying to gain control on: December 14, 2017, 12:52:32 PM
if you are afraid of government regulations then you should know that if they succeed in regulating bitcoin, they will also succeed in regulating all the rest of the cryptocurrencies even anonymous coins.

it is because as long as a cryptocurrency is decentralized they can not do anything about it. unless they regulate places that you go to in order to use those currencies. like regulating the exchanges, regulating merchants that are making sales and accepting an anon coin. you will still be subjected to the regulations.
1431  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin Diamond: White Elephant or? on: December 11, 2017, 01:03:01 PM
anything that is build on top of bitcoin with more than 170 GB of blockchain and tries to build even more with faster blocks and stuff like that, is doomed to fail.
and when we are talking about these coins working against big really anonymous coins with focus on privacy such as Monero, they have nothing to say really. it is not a competition they are going to win or even last long in.
1432  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coin is next Ethereum? on: December 11, 2017, 12:52:05 PM
Which coin is going to be next Ethereum?
it is impossible to say, until they start putting money in it and pump it with lots of manipulation.

Quote
I heard a lot of people saying Waves could be the next Ethereum.
it is a good candidate, i admit it but it still is too small in my opinion and people haven't been paying much attention to it. it has no pumpers like etehreum either.

each year we have a new one for sure though.

Quote
I'm looking to hold plenty of a coin which could be next Ethereum.
usually pumps like this will take quite a long time to start and become big to reach the max. possibly one first huge pump then a little time between and another pump.
that means you will have enough time to buy it. just look for the most hype around those times.
1433  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Be patient for your profit on: December 11, 2017, 12:37:04 PM
I see a lot of members waiting for like 7 days and they didn't getting any profit..
After 14 days the price is dropping..
If you wait a year or a couple of months you get much more profit.

this must be the worst suggestion that anyone could ever give others for their investments.

you are practically telling everyone to keep holding even when price is dropping and they are losing money! that is terrible advice.

if you see a drop, you must do something about it. if the drop is small and you think it is going to reverse then hold. otherwise if it is big (which it is in almost all altcoins these days) you must sell to prevent bigger losses! that is like the first rule of investment: Stop Loss. then buy back if you are so interested in that altcoin!
1434  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I found that many virtual currencies are falling in these days. Is this a normal on: December 11, 2017, 12:26:08 PM
yes it is not only normal but also common.

if you take a look at the charts of these altcoins and see the early 2017 part of their charts, mostly pre August, you can see they had big rises out of nowhere and strange rises which we call pumps.
each of these pumps led to a big bubble in their respective altcoin which needs bursting. and for a while now, they have been bursting and getting dumped.
1435  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin futures boost price! on: December 11, 2017, 12:12:30 PM
It seems it has started the soaring
$16,029 according to coinmarketcap
Edit: $16,295

if you look at the charts and how the price has been changing and forget all about futures, CME, CBOE, NASDAQ,... you will find it interesting that this has been very similar to all the previous movements!

a big rise followed by a big drop of less than 30% which lasts a couple of days, then another leg up back to base and rise from there!
1436  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BTC skyrocket -> futures trading, 7 upcomming forks, lightning network ALL-IN! on: December 10, 2017, 02:09:23 PM
interesting speculation. just two things.

these forks are already known to be useless forks and i doubt that many people would be interested in them to want to buy bitcoin for.

Lightning Network is great news but it seems to be so far away from being ready for actual deployment and then a long time is needed for adoption of it and people learning how to use it.
1437  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Alt coins to buy now? on: December 10, 2017, 02:01:00 PM
i was analyzing the market a little bit in the past two days and things have been pretty interesting but at the same time it made my decision making impossible.

here is how things happened:
1- at first bitcoin was rising, altcoins were dropping which slowed down quite a bit at the end of bitcoins rise.
2- then bitcoin had its first drop which meant altcoins shoot up suddenly! there were green all around, usually 10 to 20% rise!
3- then bitcoin dropped some more and ever since then altcoins have been dropping again!

i can understand the #1 and #3 altcoin dumps but not the #2 altcoin rise. that was pretty strange. my guess is, because of the massive dump in #1 and also the sudden nature of bitcoin's drop in #2, altcoins had a sudden surge which didn't last long either.

the reason it is hard to make decision is that if it were at their bottom, i would have bought for the  come back but most of them already had small come backs!
1438  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A Flood of Bitcoin Forks Coming....4 more here before Jan 2 2018! Sheesh! on: December 10, 2017, 01:34:00 PM
As someone else already said:  For fork's sake.
I bet soon there will be also BTC tritium, BTC lithium, BTC 2.0, BTC oil and maybe AntiBTC ( the last one you definitely don't want to send to your BTC wallet )

well there is only a finite number of words in any language and they will soon run out of the ways to fork bitcoin before they run out of these words!
and i don't know if people notice it but it is pretty damn hard for anyone to run these things. each of them need 150 GB hard disk space for the blockchain! and it will be even harder to sync since nobody will be running a node.
how many of these can exist? Cheesy
1439  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin or Ethereum? on: December 10, 2017, 01:28:15 PM
I prefer on bitcoin because it has a higher value that Ethereum in which you can easily have much money.

the "money" you can get is the last thing that matters when you are comparing two things.

in fact "money" you can get can potentially be a lot bigger and much faster in ETH because it is a pump and dump altcoin. for example you invest before one of its pumps and you can gain a lot of profit in a couple of days that the pump is going on. but after that nothing will happen and price will get dumped.
1440  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I have lost hope in ETHEREUM - Pending transaction won't complete on: December 09, 2017, 01:04:56 PM
there was not much hope for ethereum in long run anyways. the only thing good about this platform is the rising price of the token, nothing more. it was always obvious that the network congestion will bite everyone in the ass. sooner better than later.

My opinion is that many people wants their wealth out of Ethereum thus causing heavy traffic and increase in transaction fees thereby slowing transactions.

not really, it is all about the new on chain game thingy called cryptokitties!
