1421  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: 400$ Loan defaulted by [Yabes] on: July 01, 2023, 06:07:32 AM
How could that dude stoop so low to default to his obligation. That is cowardly of him to have ran away with funds he was loaned. From the scenario, i think it was an intentional act from and a well planed one for that matter. He is not in any campaign from the looks. I was thinking there is collateral  for taking loans but to my greatest surprise none at the moment and i ask OP is there any possibility of making it compulsory so you could not be suffering losses in the nearest future because this is disheartening that your good deeds turns out to be used against you by scammers who are heartless.
Every lender wants the loans to be secured by collateral. But in reality very few actually manage to gather a collateral. The major reasons behind loans being trading and gambling most of them get dispensed with only trust between the parties. This system can sustain only if the borrower takes responsibility of their loans and pays back with interest in time however hard it might be for them.

Most lenders are willing to accommodate by extending the time period or taking the payment in installments and so on. But ghosting right after a loan is dispensed is a bad omen.
1422  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: 400$ Loan defaulted by [Yabes] on: June 30, 2023, 03:21:02 PM
A neutral tag should be given if this case is already resolved.
I strongly disagree with this.

A borrower may take many loans as they wish before they decide to scam the lender on one final loan. The previous loans are often done to build trust in the community and this behavior is often found in the anonymous forums. One might argue that the borrower is a gambler and pays back as they win some from the win and rest from their salary, but from the perspective of the lender, they are nothing but a default.

Like like 99% of defaulted loans, this one is not coming back.

What yogg did in the collectibles section is a proof that you are responsible for your own money and how you deal with people on the internet.

Flag supported.
1423  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Understanding cryptocurrencies and investment. on: June 30, 2023, 03:09:15 PM
Different coins has different purpose, a lot to explain. In short, btc, ether, bnb respectively can be considered as best coin. you can invest your money with those anytime but best time to invest with those while bearish market which is underway. you can google for more.
Looking at the older charts one can easily derive the fact that is bitcoin and the top ten altcoins are the only ones to look out for. The rest of them are just there to populate the charts and never actually shown a break even for their biggest investors. Newbies would be willing to try out these coins that are down in the dumps but making a lot of buzz on social media but dont forget that shills always shill most about coins which they worry the most.

As an investment, the top 10 coins are the maximum you need to traverse. Forget about the rest and your difference in profit will be meager.
1424  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin - how low will we go in 2023? on: June 30, 2023, 10:41:14 AM
Even 7 days ago, BTC lost its price and fell below $25,000. It was a good opportunity at that time and those who bought BTC are now in a good profit for the seven days gap. But BTC holders don't usually move for temporary profits. They focus on long term profit. The market is just preparing for a bullish trend so this time should be given due importance and the portfolio should be increased. This may be the highest and the last dip towards the next bullish market.
It's stuck at 30k now but this bullish move is being directed to the renewed interest in ETF and if that is the case, I hope it does not die out like what happened a few years back. The biggest factor pushing the price upward would be some big corporation mentioning it but that are cunning not to reval such facts but work in the shadows accumulating bitcoin unlike us.

What we can do is cash some profit if someone bought at the lows of this year. But if not bought previously then just wait it out before the next bull run. Obviously the bull run works if you have money at hand. Buying at the 11th hour is a bad choice.
1425  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoins and it's potential on: June 29, 2023, 10:02:14 AM
I still dont see how bitcoin reduces poverty like a silver bullet (Hint: Because it is not). Bitcoin is a currency and a payment method that can only be used if you already own it or received if someone else owns it and sends to you. Same people may be lacking any fiat at hand, does not mean they will magically have bitcoin at hand. On the other hand, it does make sending the money easier, which I agree.

Of course if you are a Nigerian price trying to scam using bitcoin, then its a different question - devilishly, you will get rich from tricking people. But that does not solve a poverty problem.

Fiat will exist as long as people exist because the entire economic system is hardwired to it. Crypto is till now an alternative, maybe in future new things will come in play and the use of both will get balanced.
1426  Economy / Economics / Re: How billionaires are really affecting the economy. on: June 29, 2023, 09:55:51 AM
OP got trashed by many of the members here, I some what feel sorry for them. Tongue

I can see the mindset problem that many work-frustrated middle to lower class people face when dealing with their problems over years, that turns to hatred towards the upper class fueled my anger and being miserable. Nobody seems to acknowledge that they were not born rich but had to reach that position with hard work, some wrongdoings and a lot of determination. Something that might motivate others to see a ray of hope in a dull world.

At the same time such people are also the socially inert and not willing to change their old habits to adapt to the new such that they might get an edge over others - being flexible. I see the bigger problem is with the people who keep complaining because their vision is narrowed down.
1427  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH vs BTC future growth potential on: June 29, 2023, 09:46:52 AM
BTC is definitely good if you have the capital to invest and it's not some measly capital i'd say.
meanwhile ethereum since its price for each ethereum is definitely lower than bitcoin, I think we could safely say that ethereum will give much more returns in the long runs.
Ethereum price might be lower but its supply is also infinite with a yearly cap. It might be good in the short term which is the case but not so in long term. For long term bitcoin with a limited total supply is better to flex your holding in front of a no-coiner. I do think they have any intention of changing this so profit while you can but keep only a limited part of your folio to ethereum.

For growth both have been performing well. Development wise it seems as though ethereum goes through a stall phase at times but truly bitcoin has covered most of the problems that fiat could not, so why bother?
1428  Economy / Economics / Re: What could Elon Musk be buying next? on: June 28, 2023, 12:38:32 PM
Few rules I found useful while traversing the world of cryptocurrency and its associated mental stress, is that never take the words of some celebrity or a millionaire for granted thinking that you would get rich. Let them do what they wish to do, you have to do something that is opposite of what they are doing to be able to take advantage of the market.

For example, when they bought doge and started shilling it, you should be selling your doge to profit. When they are buying twitter, sell your shares if you have any.

In either case, you would not always have the upper hand of owning the asset before they make their move, in which case just relax and stop following them. You would lose nothing.
1429  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to know a good bitcoin investors! on: June 28, 2023, 12:32:39 PM
There are a few things to look for in identifying good Bitcoin investor. Bitcoin investors need to know how much knowledge and skills they have about Bitcoin and trading. An investor in Bitcoin should have a long term perspective as Bitcoin is fluctuating significantly now if he has invested above the peak then if the market goes down then the long term investment may be stuck where risk management has to be kept in mind.
That sounds more like the ones trying to sell themselves. Most successful bitcoin investors dont show themselves but keep investing and leading a quiet life amidst the hustle and bustle of the community. The ones who might come out to boast will have some motive for doing so, be careful of that - either they have a product to sell or some book their wrote recently. Roll Eyes

Moreover, the investor must secure his own assets by using a good wallet and an investor must always keep in mind that there is no guarantee of profit in Bitcoin investment and should be invested with utmost caution.
Its a general idea. Most users here know this but dont know the implication of it. Keeping a wallet secure is the first thing a bitcoin user must do before buying any coins. Knowing how the speculative market works and how to cope with the cycles in the next.
1430  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How important is it to keep your bitcoin investments secret from others ? on: June 28, 2023, 12:20:24 PM
Of course, especially in forums like this, it's always better not to give any personal information to strangers but at the same time let's also try to be real: kidnapping someone is a serious crime, if someone does something like that it's because they know that person has a lot of money, so someone in that position should always be careful. I don't think someone would blindly kidnap the average Joe to steal $2k of BTC.
People can do anything when the greed hits them and thus staying safe on the internet needs a lot of practice and maturity. Dealing with strangers should be done in public places with backup people nearby, or should not be done at all.

Many users of this forum have dealt in public and have got to known each other well. But there will always be bad eggs here and there and you cant depend on your luck to save you everytime.

On the internet, assume nobody to be your friend. Be discreet about your money and you should be safe.

1432  Economy / Economics / Re: Should I Use Emergency funds or Sell my Assets ? on: June 27, 2023, 11:13:47 AM
Emergency funds are those that would keep you afloat during a crisis period. Use them cautiously. On the other hand the inflation may not end so easily so you might have to do both of selling assets and using the funds. You might be a better judge of the situation yourself but talking to your local community members might do you good, after all most of us come from a similar society structure and with similar income tabs.

We can only hold it out and cope with the increasing cost of stuff. Cut down on things that you don't need, though I guess you already did some of that.
1433  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who Buys Bitcoin When The Price is 100k$? on: June 27, 2023, 11:01:47 AM
Everyone will be buying bitcoin at that price. Bitcoin is still bitcoin and it can go even higher so these is no point to stop buying it at a high price.

People who DCA do it all the time because they keep buying Bitcoin despite the price.
Despite the price bitcoin is bought only because the long term selling price may be good and the profit would be high. The main reason is the long past charts of Bitcoin that show big changes from low price to high price and cycles that happen.

However 100k is a price that practically has not appearer in the market yet but we will have takers at that price - consider if the price remains static at that then this would be common.

Always fractional buying is possible because a Bitcoin is divisible upto 8 decimal spaces. Don't let the price on 1 whole bitcoin intimdate you.
1434  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Where can i get the crypto whales signal??? on: June 27, 2023, 10:46:03 AM
It's not about how to read chart and signal advise but it's all about how you see carefully of global situation. Signal only works if you know to making decision of you choice.  Never trust whlaes signal, your money is your responbility Never dare to blame others if yourself never DYOR with your choice. Market is manipulation their have a lot of startegy to make you confused so just trying learn next step for every moment you will choice
I doubt anyone who calls themselves a whale and then sends out big picks. No body can confirm a whale in true sense and real whales rarely make themselves publicly known. The ones who appear like that I feel are fake and more of a cheater trying to fool noobs. While a big whale and the or movement is difficult to predict, we can simply follow the long term strategy and wait it out.

So in short if you are getting whale named signals, assume them to be false.
1435  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The green shouldn't always be the reason to enter the market on: June 26, 2023, 08:53:53 AM
Most of the buzz appears when the price is rising. Therefore the forum sees more sign-ups and more visitors. Those with a background of speculative trading know that the time to buy is the bear market and the time to sell is the bull market. But for a first timer, I guess this much developed thinking does not occur in the first time. They just buy while the price is rising and eventually get stuck. Though we can't do anything after the mistake is made, we can teach people to avoid such FOMO/Panic buying while a bull market runs.

The time to buy at a discounted price is the best market. This will be understood by newbies once they experience the market cycles in front of them.
1436  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How quick do altcoins pump in bull run? on: June 26, 2023, 08:48:50 AM
Predicting how quickly altcoins will increase in price during a bull run period is very difficult because it is heavily influenced by many factors, including market sentiment, general adoption of cryptocurrencies, and specific factors associated with each individual altcoin.
It will take time and because altcoins run on hype and not actually good development the coins that have been there have remained down in the dumps for years. In the bull market almost every coin shows a rise in price but they equally drop when the bear market starts. The lack of faith and community backing of altcoins is big and they can only do this much for now, so better not to think about them but buy the ones that you find useful for future and buy them in small amounts when the price is low and accept that it is a loss.

Then go to sleep and let them rise in price as time corsses.
1437  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What tips you will give to a new investor to identify scam projects early ? on: June 26, 2023, 08:41:29 AM
The team members and their background checks are essential when researching a project. The team often falls out which can be a bad omen on most cases and thus never take the initial team list and final and accept that they will leave when their bags inflate with price and you will have to handle that or get out at the same time.

Next would be going to LinkedIn and attempting to talk to the advisory board about their opinions. They may know about the project and only talk positive which is normal, because of vested interests. While some others may never have heard of it, which means that the site is scam and put up those names just to appear legitimate.

Stock images used and copied white papers are red flags. Still no method is full proof, your luck is a factor here.
1438  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin trading be my sole source of income? on: June 26, 2023, 08:35:08 AM
Yes I agree with you. I used to spend my own money and family expenses by trading but sometimes I had to face many problems. Because trading is not always profitable, sometimes I lose from trading and then I have to face problems.  I am working now and earning income from trading. From my job, I get fixed salary every month and if I earn money from trading, then I can live happily. Besides trading, we have to do some other work.
Trading from an amateur or professional standpoint is not a guaranteed profit every month but the salary is and hence I never recommend trading as the first line of money making but a stable job to give you mental peace while you take the risky moves with trading. You might get sudden profits or losses on trading and the stable income or the job will cushion those losses.

Family expenses will come daily and this trading cannot cover those everyday but your job will help it.
1439  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lotteries and possibility vs. probability on: June 25, 2023, 07:02:30 AM
Humans like to believe in supernatural ways of winning defying the math involved and thus their greed and the addictive buying of lottery tickets as seen with many people.

I think if we can keep the taxation issue aside and be completely selfish - then buying a lottery ticket in enough number to be able to get the winning ticket is a loss in total. We are interested on our own gains instead of taxation, so if that itself is a loss, why buy the ticket at all? a chance of less than 0.0001% is practically equal to no chance at all - this should go in straight in everyone's brains.
1440  Economy / Economics / Re: What roles does the poor play in the Economy? on: June 25, 2023, 06:58:56 AM
In what ways have the people living in poverty impacted in the economy?
Share your ideas on the importance of the poor masses in economy sustainability.
It means a votebank is there to appease and raise votes and sustain the same governance over years to come and that the middle class would suffer from it.

Majority of democratic countries run like this, they identify minority groups, poor and less educated populations living in their own superstitions. This leads to the following groups not improving themselves but instead spending their votes on a shit governance that cannot be toppled at all and further worsening of their conditions.

This is how minority politics work, the poor remain poor while the rich remain rich, the middle class always suffers. Thus economic struggle continues as it started.
