14221  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Market Goes Down and Down on: June 09, 2018, 04:01:46 AM
If you have a solid portfolio, and there is an experience then of course you need to wait and buy at a cheaper price. I do not have many coins and I do not see any reason to keep them.

Buying more is out of question. The market is quite depressed right now and I don't have the courage to buy more crypto. On the other hand, recently I sold some of my holdings and converted them to fiat.
14222  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When do you know its time to sell your altcoins? on: June 09, 2018, 04:00:16 AM
You will never know about that, if I could suggest to you is to have a target plan for profit taking, how much percentage that you set. If the price going much further don't regret it. Its the consequences but you have a constant profit.

Yes.. it is very important to have a fixed plan on how to proceed with the alts/tokens. My plan is like this: I sell 40% of the alts or tokens, as soon as I get my bounty reward. Another 40% after one week and I will keep the remaining 20% for long-term.
14223  Economy / Economics / Re: So many cryptocurrencies ! on: June 08, 2018, 03:55:32 PM
With having so many cryptocurrencies, 1624 to be exact and as of now

The total number of crypto-coins is around 10,000 and not 1,624. The latter number refers to the coins which are listed in Coinmarketcap. You need to remember that thousands of coins are not listed in that site.
14224  Economy / Economics / Re: Beside Cryptocurrenices where would you invest? on: June 08, 2018, 03:49:59 PM
Apart from crypto, I have invested in equities, mutual funds and bullion (gold) coins. And now I am trying to diversify my portfolio by selling some of my crypto and then using those funds to invest in equities.
14225  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Do you believe in ICO Ratings? on: June 08, 2018, 03:41:04 PM
I never invest in the ICOs. I make use of the reviews only for participating in the bounty campaigns. And normally I read reviews from multiple sites before taking a decision. From my experience, I would say that 80% to 90% of the reviews are accurate.
14226  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Leaving Your Job is The Worst Idea on: June 08, 2018, 03:34:10 PM
For the past two years or so, I am earning more from crypto when compared to my full time job. But even then, I have never thought of quitting my full-time job. Because there is no job security as far as crypto is concerned.
14227  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How is the price of ETH next 2020? on: June 08, 2018, 07:20:04 AM
If a crypto recovery occur by 2020, then we can expect the ETH prices to top $2,500 per coin. By then, ETH can have a market cap of $250 billion, which looks quite conservative taken in to account the projected number of users and projected future price of Bitcoin.
14228  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Invest in Ethereum on: June 08, 2018, 03:21:20 AM
Now the price for ETH is $ 600.  It is a good price to invest.  By the end of the year, the price will grow 2 times and will be about $ 1,300.

I am tired of noobs posting their useless price predictions without any basics. Is there any solid logic behind your prediction? Or you made this post just to increase your activity? We are going through a correction phase right now and ETH may hit levels above $1,000 per coin only if it is over.
14229  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Monero a Good Investment? on: June 08, 2018, 03:18:43 AM
Monero is not showing much of a momentum for the past few months. In 2017, a lot of users were discussing about the possibility of XMR replacing ETH as the no.2 crypto. But XMR has gone down since then, and no longer feature in the top-5 cryptos as of now.
14230  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is etherium good for long term on: June 08, 2018, 03:16:46 AM
I believe that for long-term investment Ethereum is better than all the other coins.

For long term? I don't think so. ETH gave almost 100x returns in 2017. You can't expect the coin to give similar returns every year. Right now, ETH is not facing much competition and is comfortably staying at the no.2 position, behind BTC. But in future this scenario can change, especially due to the emergence of coins such as Cardano and NEO.
14231  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you still use MEW? on: June 08, 2018, 03:12:33 AM
Yes. I still use MEW. I am positive that its still the safest wallet we can have. It even offers an offline wallet that is useful for storing coins. Just make sure that you keep the private key safe and use a backup device for encryption files. Always check the URL - phishing sites are everywhere. I also recommend that you create a new wallet every time you merge a MEW to an exchange. Better safe than sorry.

Normally Google Chrome blocks the phishing sites as soon as they are reported. But in case you open a link from the email, then it is another story. So be very careful about spam mails which land in your inbox. And if you get such phishing mails, please report them.
14232  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to protect your wallet from hackers on: June 08, 2018, 03:07:37 AM
All you need to do is to follow two basic security instructions. First, you need to store your private key safely and securely. And secondly, you need to make sure that your system does not get infected with trojans and keyloggers. It may be a good idea to purchase a laptop exclusively for crypto usage.
14233  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What if every country has its own crypto currency on: June 08, 2018, 03:06:02 AM
If a crypto-currency is being created by the central bank of a particular country, how you are going to distinguish it from the official fiat currency? I would say that in this case, it is just similar to the national currency. An example is the crypto-currency recently created by the Venezuelan government.
14234  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin alternatives in 2018 on: June 08, 2018, 02:47:12 AM
I think the best alternative of bitcoin is Ethereum, Ethereum has a large community in the market and is now the second most popular after Bitcoin, I believe the future of ETH is very bright.

ETH is not exactly an alternative to Bitcoin. There is a lot of difference in the technology for both these coins. I would say that the alternative for Bitcoin includes coins such as Monero, Bitcoin Cash and Bitcoin Gold. Platforms such as Ethereum and Cardano can't be described as Bitcoin substitutes.
14235  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Are terrorists only muslim in religion? on: June 07, 2018, 04:32:57 PM
Terrorists are not only Muslims in religion  but judging from the other fact all over the world the terrorist groups are 95% Muslims. I taking  Nigeria as a case study ;the bombings and killings are carried out  my Muslim.... So to me I will say terrorists are mainly Muslims in religion.

Also, we need to distinguish religion-based terrorism from other forms of terrorism. There are a lot of non-Muslim terrorist groups around the world. ELN and AUC of Colombia are perfect examples. But they don't want to kill those who don't believe in their religion.
14236  Other / Politics & Society / Re: John McAfee for 2020 President on: June 07, 2018, 04:30:10 PM

He will be even worse than Trump. John McAfee is the guy who was ready to approve any ICO, in return for a small monetary donation. Many of the ICOs which he approved turned out to be scams and unsuspecting investors lost a lot of money in them.

Agree. I was just being sarcastic, for I know what kind of activities this guy is leading. But I just can help myself and stop smiling when I see people that actually support this kind of people to become presidents of the US. What's going on with the US population? They don't care anymore about the image they are giving to the world? They have Trump already, a big joke. Can they just be thinking about McAfee, the big scammer, as a great solution? Finally, they voted for Trump, another great scammer, a racist, a pedant and an ignorant...

One very important thing that should not be forgotten is the fact that Trump became president because the Democrats rigged their primaries to give nomination to Hillary. Trump would have easily lost, if Sanders was the Democrat nominee.
14237  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why are some countries still so rich and others so poor on: June 07, 2018, 04:21:06 PM
The perfect example is North and South Korea. Demographically, both the nations are quite similar. But huge gaps exist between the two, as far as living conditions are concerned. Another example is that of Yemen and Oman.
14238  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Bridge to the Crimea! on: June 07, 2018, 04:12:26 PM
Aren't they just trying to help the people living there? After Ukraine cut the water and electricity, blocked the passages for the trains, the Crimea needs the bridge and everything coming with it. At least the prices will drop for food and supplies, as someone said before.

The Kiev junta seems to be a confused lot. On on hand, they are saying that they want to re-integrate Crimea in to Ukraine. And at the same time, they are imposing embargoes and sanctions over Crimea. Not the right way to win hearts and minds, if you ask me.
14239  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Tactics When Market is Falling on: June 07, 2018, 04:07:49 PM
Tactics in fact the simplest, you need to buy when the coins are very cheap, and you need to sell when the coin is very expensive and is preparing to become cheaper, that's the most profitable tactic that generally exists.

On paper, this sounds like a good strategy. But in reality, this can seldom be put to practice. When a particular coin is going down, you have no idea about how long it is gong to go down. The same case when a coin goes up abruptly.
14240  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you do with the rewards you received? on: June 07, 2018, 04:03:39 PM
As far as I understand, many bounty members often sell their awards right away, but they do it in vain, because good projects very often raise their prices for tokens after a while, it's a fact and it was many times.

But the problem is that good projects are getting increasingly rare nowadays. When I first started participating in the bounty campaigns in 2017, there were a lot of promising ICOs. But now the standard has fallen quite heavily.
