14301  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain Introduces the S19 and S19 Pro on: April 15, 2020, 01:27:05 PM
well bitmain finally put the prices up $2633 for the S19 pro and $1964 for the regular s19 - add in shipping and tariff and its around $3500 for pro and $2700 for regular.

Shipping in June.

Does anyone know what the points will be good for.  I have 43 points my guys in Clifton have 70 points Buysolar has 38 points.

It would be nice to know if they have any value.
14302  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain Introduces the S19 and S19 Pro on: April 15, 2020, 02:34:55 AM
blockforge always charges the tarriff.

sometimes bitmain does sometimes bitmain does not.

note 📝 not 100% sure the blockforge always charges the tarriff.
14303  Economy / Goods / Very general inquiry on selling solar panels. on: April 15, 2020, 02:12:51 AM
My partner  has an excess of inventory various sizes of panels.

various wattages
various efficiencies
various prices per  watts

We are in New Jersey  best would be come with your pick up and load panels onto it.

shoot me a pm tell me how many  you want.

I think he has 100 to 400 watts per panel
I think prices range from 40 cents a watt to 1.10 a watt  depends on quality of panel.  A high end lg with  really good efficiency may be 1.10 to 1.25 a watt

No pressure shoot me a pm and let me know if you want to get some.
14304  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: New Antminer T17 issues on: April 15, 2020, 02:06:37 AM
Did you try to re-flash board with SD card?

I am in Howell NJ

gear is in Clifton NJ

Corona-v lockdown means I should not drive to work on it.

I can access it via team viewer that lets me

reboot it.
upgrade firmware.
change pools.

It is numbered I can call the guy in the warehouse and shut it off or power it up.

But hands on card flashing, fan repairing, cleaning it out all have to wait until May something.  Maybe right after the ½ ing.
14305  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin can go to proof of stake after they see how ethereum goes on: April 15, 2020, 01:45:57 AM
Bitcoin Suisse founder has mentioned bitcoin could possible go proof of stake some time in the future.
They are going to follow suit after seeing how ethereum's own iteration goes with casper and beacon? Embarrassed
https://cointelegraph.com/news/bitcoin-will-follow-ethereum-and-move-to-proof-of-stake-says-bitcoin-suisse-founder
I dont think it would be possible with the way bitcoin was built to not allow this since it could mess up things in some capacity since it was never intended to but to keep the network going with miners in the loop. Undecided

Bitmain
avalon/caanan
microbt
ebang
innosilicon

Would never be in favor of that.
They make a ton of gear.

POS = piece of shit

Anyone that likes POS coins without hard iron gear mining coin  is (put in what you imagine)

Nothing backs a POS coin it is simply a junk bond offering cloaked in an imaginary robe called cryptocurrency the reality is if  POS  grows world wide  then governments will attack it world wide.

I can't attack POS  hard enough long enough or mean enough. No mining algorithm means it does not even belong in the same universe as crypto coins.

But that is just my opinion for what it is worth.

Eth  would do well to do progpow declare it a success and build on it forever leaving the idea of POS  off in the distance.

Or  go hybrid  which could be the best of all worlds.

Now if eth went progpow and then hybrid pos-pow   maybe btc would think about a hybrid mix.  Still think asic builders would really be against. it.
14306  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: New Antminer T17 issues on: April 14, 2020, 08:53:10 PM
Of all the bitmain gear I purchased last year my t17+ has had the most issues.

I am glad you found that 17+ firmware I will give it a spin on my t17+ since it has been running with 2 boards for more then 3 months.

I will post back if it gives me the third board back

"Antminer T17+
Hostname   antMiner
Model   GNU/Linux
Hardware Version   Socket connect failed: Connection refused
Kernel Version   Linux 4.6.0-xilinx-gff8137b-dirty #25 SMP PREEMPT Fri Nov 23 15:30:52 CST 2018
File System Version   Wed Apr 8 11:27:07 CST 2020"

Just loaded it now see above.

and it booted in under five minutes dropped the board after it ran for 1 minute

booted again both times failed socket came up which is normal but this time the tuning is slower. 7 minutes vs 4.75 minutes and still tuning.

and 8 minutes in we are doing 3 boards will get back if it holds it is a score.
14307  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain Introduces the S19 and S19 Pro on: April 14, 2020, 05:57:05 PM
there was a miner a few weeks ago for $904 - was that the regular T17 or was it the T17+?

though at that current price for the T17+ and that it is shipping next week and is below the tariff limit is appealing to me.

That was
the t17+  it dropped from 904 to 762
the s17+  it dropped from 1630 to 1320
14308  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: New Antminer T17 issues on: April 14, 2020, 03:55:12 PM
The cost of 15 minute boot time is pretty much what the t17 takes in the first place.
socket connect fail is also normal

So you are looking good .

^^^ But what is really sad is that the turmoil of starting over will totally hide the fact that this CV pandemic is based on fake news.

Cool
Fake news?

I can't go out because we're on a total lockdown but I doubt it that this is still fake. Hundred thousands of lives were gone because of covid19.

It seems that you and almost all Americans and Brits simply don't get it. Take a look below. And be sure to watch the video at the article linked below in addition to the ones shown at the bottom, here.

Watch: dozens of local TV anchors read the same anti-“false news” script in unison

A chilling video featuring local news anchors of stations owned by the conservative television empire Sinclair Broadcast Group across the country reciting a script warning of “biased and false news” — word for word — went viral over the weekend.

The video has again stirred concerns about the reach of Sinclair, which owns or operates nearly 200 television stations across the country, and about its pro-Trump bias disguised in what many unassuming viewers may believe to be run-of-the-mill local news.

Viral video raises worry over Sinclair's political messaging inside local news

And a shorter video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aGIYU2Xznb4.

And a somewhat longer one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bq96zAC9ZJs.

Possibly the best short one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KSXenq5RNwo.

Cool

You are correct there is a lot of bull shit.

i invite you to go to worldometers.com

look at the so called stats on corona-v

the variations in numbers mean false reporting.

the question is are the high numbers the lie
are the low numbers the lie

are both lies and do they equal out.

right now world wide death 💀 toll is around 125,000

this has run from dec to april

the 2009 h1n1 world 🌎 wide death toll ranges from 175,000 to 575,000 it ran from nov 2009 to may 2010

so far we have not been as bad as the h1n1 so is this a lie?

or has the world 🌎 wide shut down saved 575,000- 125,000 = 450,000 lives?

I don’t know.
14310  Other / Politics & Society / Re: GLOBAL PANDEMIC - BLESSING IN DISGUISE on: April 14, 2020, 01:03:12 PM
Of course, there are some good things that bring this pandemic to us which is something we are not used to seeing every day in our life.

Please name those good things that this pandemic has brought to us...
What are those?
Death, unemployment, fear, isolation, economic recession, overcrowded hospitals?
What good things has this pandemic brought?
You have more time to read cause your unemployed? You have time to spend with your family cause you are forced to stay indoor 23/7?

If this continues for two months we will all have a lot of time to "read about the blockchain" between to forages to Gas Town and the Bullet Farm.
Seriously, stop! There is nothing good in this, nothing, if this pandemic has brought more good than bad for you it means you had a pretty fucked
to begin with.

This coronavirus is very alarming and now causing many people's death. It is very scary indeed but let's look at the brighter side this pandemic has given us.
Many nations are now helping each other.
Many people are showing their goods sides by helping other people in need.

Yeah, lol..I've seen so many cases of nations helping each other I think it's almost like a war scenario.
Everyone accusing everyone of stealing their supplies or contracts, the same for the people!
The good part in people helping each other? Have you seen how there were fighting for a pack of toilet paper?

earth is now recovering and healing on it's own because of less vehicles in the road, and last but not the least, people's hope and faith to God strengthens because of this virus.

Yeah, the earth is recovering and millions are facing poverty and starvation. Such brilliance.
And people's faith in God is not rising anywhere, probably in some remote 10-century village, but Easter has passed with churches closed and nobody cares, faith in miracles is fading away, religion how it is now is on its last legs.

Well fundamentally we are still all going to die. So the pandemic did not change that.
It does point out how fucked humanity is but if you pay any attention to the world  you should have already known this.

If I weren't personally involved I would say  mother earth is simply cleaning house.  People won't like it cause in this case people are the dirt and filth that needs to be cleaned up.

I was born in 1957  I remember when the world had less then 3 billion people.  It was still a fucked up world with a lot of filth caused by people.
Now the earth is around a little less  then 8 billion.  My thoughts are: fuck is this the first of many pandemics and are a shit ton of people going to die?
So yeah while it is a wake up call people in general won't be able to do what is correct and more of the same is coming until the population gets drastically lowered.

so stompix I agree with you  it is going to be a long drawn out mess over the next few years.

Look at this site  the worlds population is still growing

https://www.worldometers.info/

more then 100,000 people more each day.  So I think this pandemic is just the first of many.

Enternet is how it connects to the internet.

A certain mispelling often equals scam.

A 24 month warranty is unheard of  so most likely a scam.
14312  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Number 9! Ninth altcoin thread. Back to the moon Baby! on: April 14, 2020, 01:37:54 AM

I don't have a lot of gpu's in the house so I use the super basic gt 310's and gt 710's.

I will have 6 pc's that will run xmr but only 1 will use gpu mining basically cause I don't have many here in the garage.

My misunderstanding. I thought you were suggesting not to mine with the GPU if CPU mining but you were just
stating what you were doing.

I'm still debating whether to put my 730 in my Ryzen combo just for the monitor. It's a single slot card that exposes
the previously hidden adjacent PCIe slot so I can still install 5 mining GPUs on my 6 slot ROG Strix B350.
Technically I can still mine with it. It's a "cute" card, single slot, half length, half height, with a small fan,
but understandably terrible for mining.

My old 210 is double slot passive cooled so it consumes 2 mining PCIe slots.

yeah  I am doing more gpu's at the farm.

It gets too hot in the garage to do much in the spring and summer.

14314  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why reward halving instead of doubling? on: April 14, 2020, 12:11:43 AM
What was Satoshi's reasoning behind halving the mining reward over time? Why did he not instead choose to do it in reverse and double the reward at each "doubling" (up to 50 BTC and then 0 - same total mined reward but distributed in reverse order)?

It seems that increasing the mining reward over time would have made more sense for at least two reasons:

1) It doesn't favor early adopters.

2) As mining difficulty rises, so does the cost of mining and therefore, the reward should be higher as well. Of course the rising price of BTC compensates for that but as we've seen recently, the price doesn't necessarily grow all the time.

Discuss.

Well  who the fuck is going to mine for 0 that's why.

I would argue  that  instead of 21million coins with ½ ings every 4 years.

32 million coins with ½ ings every 6 years would have given more time for it to be adopted.

We would be coming up to second ½ ing in 2021

I see issues with bitcoin at the  ½ ing point  that drops us to 0.78125 coins reward   that is only 8 years from now.

If we split at  6 years

2015 25 coins
2021 12.5 coins
2027  6.25 coins
2033  3.125 coins
2039  1.5625 coins
2045   0.78125 coins

our track now is

2012  25
2016  12.5
2020   6.25
2024   3.125
2028   1.5625
2032   0.78125

I don't see how it works  at this pace.
14315  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Number 9! Ninth altcoin thread. Back to the moon Baby! on: April 13, 2020, 07:17:54 PM
Running fewer threads is an excellent way to increase efficiency.

Many algos favourable to CPUs are cache bound or I/O bound. Reducing the number of threads will often increase
the total hashrate as well as reduce power. Even if hashrate doesn't increase, or if it decreases, efficiency is improved.
Disabling SMT can also save power and avoids the need to use cpu-affinity.

However, I don't see co-mining with the GPUs as having any effect on CPU efficiency, though it may
affect CPU mining performance.

Everything is algo dependent, even the GPU algo when co-mining. Some GPU algos place more load on
the CPU than others.

Optimizing for efficiency can go too far where the hashrate reduction has a bigger effect on ROI than
the energy savings.

I don't have a lot of gpu's in the house so I use the super basic gt 310's and gt 710's.

I will have 6 pc's that will run xmr but only 1 will use gpu mining basically cause I don't have many here in the garage.

Yeah it is real enough for us. I am lucky I am retired as is my wife. So we don’t have to work.
We have 0.33 acres of land and a house 🏠.
So we don’t go stir crazy 😜 and we are not desperate for money 💵.

We would love to take tests for antibodies if we could. If we were certain we had it in Jan. we would be more  aggressive trying to treat my wife’s now 106 day post nasal drip 💧.

So far it has resisted multiple anti histamines and the drip falls into her lungs. She coughs stuff up every day.  Since the type of doctors that would treat it are the same that treat corona-v we don’t want to tax health system. Since we are not sure corona-v damaged her we could be risking her getting infected in her weakened state.

We had a major party with all the sick cousins and around 100 relatives around nov 30.

wife got signs of being ill around dec. 20

could be that party got all the cousins and me and my wife sick.  She is stable so it is the after effectivs for her.

Still hoping the two cousins in intensive care get better.

To all be careful.

Edit forbes article shows type a blood people may catch it  easier then type o

Type A - 31%
Type B - 24%
Type AB - 9%
Type O - 34%
Comparatively, Wuhan residents who had contracted COVID-19 had a blood type distribution of:

Type A - 38%
Type B - 26%
Type AB - 10%
Type O - 25%
...

It was a small sample of 2173 victims in China

A is worst

O is best

type B
type AB  are close to neutral.

have you checked your wattmeter? the ryzen cpus use close to max tdp mining on all cores , lowest i have see is close to 160 watts on a 3900 and thats with zero oc

i do drop the wattage on some using ryzen master but some are unstable

with any oc youre close to 200 watts , remeber the base pc parts ram, disk psu use wattage too
so your system wattage will be near 250

same goes for the TR you’re going to need to double that wattage estimate

set the freq to 3000
set the volts to .91

use 22 cores

dont use any gpus to mine just use a gt 310 or gt 710

you get around 9500 to 9900 hash and only 110 to 120 watts.

yeah you can crank like a mofo get 12000 to 13300 hash and do 200 to 220 watts.

my

four amd 9 3900x
one amd 9. 3950x

are doing about 47000 and 600 watts.

when the amd thread ripper shows i will do 23000 and 200 watts but i may do two gpus with this.

these are in my garage and they mine at a loss.
the underclock loses less money then the overclock.

most people are not going to do what I do mine at a loss in a garage.

remember my bread and butter is the 2ph btc 10gh ltc mine in clifton.

oh some detail on the amd 3970x.   i found a cc deal it will give me 200 usd if i buy 1000 or more in three months. i have a year to pay back no interest.

so 2000 x 1.07 = 2140 - 270 in coupons is 1870 - 200 from cc is 1670 - 19 is 1651 cost pay out over one year.
