The community is still too small, the market volume is too small, and the price volatility is still at large. So in my opinion it should take more time to establish and then try to break in the world's economy.

14342  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The problem i see with bitcoin. on: May 01, 2015, 11:00:28 AM
As long as bitcoin will be used in exchange of the fiat, the true goal won't be fulfilled. Someday when, people will finally be able to use Bitcoin as a currency of it's own dimension, Bitcoin will gain it's true success.

What do you suggest we do and how?

Thanks for the update Pran Lele.  How's Mukesh doing these days?
14344  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The problem i see with bitcoin. on: May 01, 2015, 10:56:48 AM
The only problem BTC s got is consumer protection. Most of people stay away cause they feel BTC s somehow connected to scammers and ponzi pumpers. Once there s appropriate, very loose legislation in place to act as a consumer protection mechanism, BTC acceptance s going to increase and this ll affect the price as well.

You forgot Satanists.  That will be a big one.
14345  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Western Union: 'Too Early' to Discuss Ripple Labs Pilot Project on: May 01, 2015, 10:35:47 AM
No matter whether it is the wrong subforum or not. The news is interesting. WU is going to undermine its core business when they focus on crypto. I think it is a rumor and keeps a rumor.

Nah.  Their just gonna use Ripple at the backend for their remittances.  The customer won't be holding any XRP at all, or know that Ripple was being used in the backend for remittance.  Same fees for the customer but less expenses for Western Union, since network fees at Ripple costs .000001 of an XRP.

Ain't that right Pran Lele..?
14346  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The problem i see with bitcoin. on: May 01, 2015, 10:32:44 AM
If you know the problem.. Like you really reeeaally think you know, then try to figure out a solution and start something out of it.  I'm pretty sure the people behind Circle and Coinbase are trying to find a solution.  And they are being funded millions for it.
14347  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The problem i see with bitcoin. on: May 01, 2015, 10:30:24 AM
I don't agree. Bitcoin's problem is not fiat but the lack of mass adaption. This however results from too few useful real life applications which using Bitcoin. It is too hard to get into all this Bitcoin stuff when you don't have a technical background or interest.

tldr version?

Bitcoin's problem is fiat. And people don't care because they want higher fiat prices.

The lack of mass adoption is a consequence of the 'lack of knowledge' and we know that some people don't want to learn and don't like the "new technology" so I think this is another problem.

The problem I see with bitcoin is what the hell is taking the Willy bot so long to come back. That would surely shut everyone up.  You want moon??  There! Good job Willy!  Everyone happy.  Willy says fuck ya'll.

Then we can say the problem for bitcoin is the willy bot, and that bot used a lot of FIAT currencies... so the problem is the FIAT 'part' . I think we have a problem!

Get Willy to pump BTC to over 10,000 USD.  These threads and bullshit opinions about the problems of BTC...  GONE!

Everybody will start counting their benjamins.

I will like to get help about bitcoin, am a total beginner without cash to invest. A fellow advice me to start bitcoin by opening wallet with Xapo, then collect free satoshi from bitcoin faucets and also bitcoin ptc like coinad.com then use the satoshi to invest in bitcoin hyip like earntomorrow.com or bitcoin pool.
I want to know if this is a good way to begin for beginner without money. Is there a better option?

Why not get a job and save some money then buy BTC?  When you get 1000 USD worth, you can trade them back and forth for altcoins to accumulate more BTC.  Trading crypto is really fun because you can move them from one exchange to another so easy.  But expect some losses from time to time, it's like gambling.  But you can try to minimize losses and your risk by managing your bankroll well, and you can maximize your profit in the process.

14353  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Satanic Temple of Detroit now accepts BTC Donations on: May 01, 2015, 09:50:47 AM
You can read the tenets of The Satanic Temple here.

Satanism is a really loaded topic, similar to anarchy. It evokes images in our heads due to the stigmas and social conditioning that don't necessarily correspond to the actuality of the idea. Supernaturalism, devil-worship, sacrificing animals, etc. aren't what Satanism is about. That's just what propagandists would have you believe.

"We understand the Satanic figure as a symbol of man’s inherent nature, representative of the eternal rebel, enlightened inquiry and personal freedom rather than a supernatural deity or being."

Satanism is a challenge to dogma. A challenge to the guilt we burden ourselves with for simply being human. A challenge to rise to your fullest potential from within.

I think Satanists should get a publicity drive going about BTC acceptance.  OP, why not post the news to other forums as well.
14354  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Satanic Temple of Detroit now accepts BTC Donations on: May 01, 2015, 09:42:48 AM
Doesn't San Francisco have one of the biggest Satanic communities?  They should start accepting Bitcoin donations.  I'm gonna drop them an email about this thread.  Anyone know their website?

It might do Bitcoin and this community good if they start coming here too.

So now we'll be addressed as:
terrorists, pedophiles, tax evaders, thieves, satanists, etc.

Have I missed something?
 Cool

- hackers
- drug empires
- drug users
 tbc

edit:

See?  Isn't that the whole point of BTC?  No borders.
14355  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] [XBS] Bitstake | For everyday digital currency tasks ---- SCAM!!!! BEWARE on: May 01, 2015, 08:59:39 AM
so you bought high and now want to blame the dev and for him to reveal himself?
i don't blame him at all for locking the thread & i will buy back in when all the day traders dump it down to 5k,
I don't think it's a scam  Smiley

Another lesson.

  *  Be aware of posts like the one quoted above.  When one says he'll buy, it usually is a lie.  A person doesn't simply
expose himself in a public forum.  There is always an ulterior, personal agenda behind it.  This usually is a sign
that it is a sockpuppet account.  And when a sockpuppet says that so and so coin is not a scam.  Beware.

Actually what he said that make sense. If it's quickly get dumped down to 5K, some correction should occur and sooner or later someone almost surely will try to pump it, so with little luck he can make a nice profit.

Or it could go down some more below 5K and stay there.  Again be careful.
14356  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: May 01, 2015, 08:07:38 AM
I thought demand for sound money such as bitcoin would be huge given how pervasive and insidious the counterfeiting of fiat currencies is. It turns out that people don't really care that much.

that's how common knowledge works...until it doesn't.

Inside our tiny bubble it's easy to forget just how little the average person gives a shit about the evils of our current monetary system.

Not that anyone would want to fuss with crypto even if they did care. It's is inconvenient to get, inconvenient to use, and offers little incentive to the regular old dude who just wants to swipe his credit card and get on with life.

The idea that incentivizing people to hold somehow improves the success of crypto is absurd and a rather narrow perspective in my opinion. A successful currency is one that people use (read: spend), not one that everybody collectively sits on and waits for the value to increase. That's not a currency at all.

Many of us refer to Bitcoin and Monero as cryptocurrencies but we don't actually want them to be currencies. We just want the market cap to go up to infinity so we can get richer and buy more stupid shit we don't need.

The sad irony is that the prices will never reach "the moon" until we stop serving ourselves and start focusing on improving the lives of everyone else.

So true. Haha
14357  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What makes you invest in a coin? on: May 01, 2015, 07:38:56 AM
I know that there many things to consider when investing in a coin. Some people look at the charts while others look at the fundamentals. What do you consider to be the most important factor when deciding if you are going to invest in a coin?

When it's trending up, I buy.  When it's trending down, I try to borrow the coin from my friends and sell them, buy back lower and return the coins I borrowed (for a small fee of course).  Been going good so far.  I'm still learning how to trade well.

"We"?  Are you a terrorist, pedophile, tax evader, thief, satanist?  I know I'm not.  But you got respectable people, in the government even, who are.

14360  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Question: What altcoins should be added to the upcoming B&C Exchange? on: May 01, 2015, 07:13:00 AM
And the point is?  Will it affect NBT in anyway?

If NBT is pegged to USD, then NBT is in “a bubble” (jyakulis) too.

Then trade back to BTC then.  What's the problem, it's a trading exchange.  The volume matters more.
