14341  Economy / Economics / Re: Buying stocks with BTC!!!! on: July 01, 2015, 10:00:27 AM
with 1broker and plus500 you don't really buy the stocks but cfd, so you exchange money, bitcoin in this case, on the basis of the change in value of those assets

then you take profit buy closing and opening your position
14342  Economy / Speculation / Re: Condolences to the bitcoin die hards on: July 01, 2015, 08:53:42 AM
No Way!.........unless sha256 is compromised.
It's not a problem if sha256 is broken, and this was already said by Satoshi, so it's just a matter of changing algo.

not an easy task as you think, because what miners can do then? get rid of their whole 300 peta hash and start all over again...no way it would be one of the biggest waste of money...

it would mean the death of bitcoin as we know it now

What else could you possibly do..... If sha256 was broken the miners would be worthless instantly bitcoin would HAVE to change the algo.  Once one can solve private keys from public it's gg for SHA256.

GPU's would rise again from the ashes.

it should be a gradually change if they really need to change because of quantum computer(are you ttalking about this right?), so it must be done many years before it happen

the problem is that it can be build secretly by some huge company, then bitcoin will be indeed screwed
14343  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why no dump? on: July 01, 2015, 08:41:31 AM
the trend is changing a bit toward more demand and less dumping, i suspect even miners are holding, if they do not need to pay urgently their huge bills

and what did you think , that we would be forever to 220, or sub 200?, don be fooled by those fud and trollers, there is no sub 200, the bottom was there, in front of your eyes for months, prepare for a rally now, hopefully a steady one
14344  Economy / Speculation / Re: More Capitol Controls?? on: July 01, 2015, 08:36:56 AM
if they fear what happened to the greece, some of their citizens will start to take out their money from their bank, and put them under pillow or bitcoin, but i doubt many know what bitcoin is..that's the real problem, there is no knowledge about bitcoin

there is a chance that many will invest in gold or virtual gold but still bitcoin could only benefit from this crisis.

14345  Economy / Speculation / Re: Nubcake question on: July 01, 2015, 08:33:34 AM
well the resistance point is easy to spot, if the price remain stable or around a certain range for so long, if you really think that a 6 months stable price(i didn't check the exact amount of time for the 220-250 range) cna be destroy suddently without any reason, then you are fooling yourself

it is evident that a price that hold for such a long time determinate a resistance point
14346  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin goes to 1200-1300 within a month. on: July 01, 2015, 08:24:12 AM
Hate to piss on bulltards here, but I'm speculating a drop to 230 within a week. We're talkin' about bitcoins after all. Have you not seen the last 16 months chart???

wasn't you the guy that did say to not base your prediction on the history of the chart? and that the past do not necessarily reflect the future? how so you changed your mind now, to suit your prediction?

contraddiction at its finest

i believe that the price will not fall or rise furiously, we will move slowly for a long time, like we are doing now
14347  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which is the best Investment Option for Bitcoins? on: July 01, 2015, 08:18:18 AM
investing in mining is also feasible if you know how to do it, a good way would be to buy miners and sell them at halfway of the roi, around 3 months

then you get 50% back from mining activity(which is also anon) and more than 50% on selling your device back, probably 80%, because there are not new better miners, so they retain their value nicely

in the end you have 30% of your initial investments, in 3 months, it mean 10% more per months, not bad if you go big, like 100btc investmens
14348  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin and Porn on: July 01, 2015, 08:13:11 AM
I will be that troll dude ; who pays for porn? it is 2015 fellas.

The porn industry is estimated to be worth $100 Bn per year. To give you an idea, that is more than 25 times the market cap of Bitcoin.
Apparently, a lot of people are still paying for porn. Tongue

they are all riches guy who one the best quality, and want to maintain the porn business alive, because if no one pay anymore that shit will go down in no time like everything else, porn actors do not work for free, even for sex and especially for it

also those subscriptions are tricking their mind, the same way the early access or f2p trick the mind of the gamers
14349  Economy / Speculation / Re: 100 bitcoins. Will I be a millionaire by 2020? on: July 01, 2015, 08:09:10 AM
I don't think people apprehend the amount of money sloshing around

frankly 1M does not buy so much anymore....barely a house in a decent capital city.

To me this say btc can go way higher than 10K each.

100K ~ 1M looks about right.

well it depend what kind of house you want, if i can live with something that is 65 square meters, it will not coost me too much, worst case 100k if it is a good house

so 1M is more than enough, unless you want to spend those in useless bitches and yacht

like it was pointed out, bitcoin will prove itself by 2024, when the supply will count basically zero, and demand will be stronger as a result

You keep having delusions about the mining supply. Why would demand be stronger just because there is less mining supply? In fact, it'll be a huge challenge at that time, because with such a low mining reward, how many miners will remain? Will they be able to keep the blockchain secure enough?

I would say that bitcoin HAS to succeed before then, in order for it to survive. If bitcoin isn't sufficiently valuable and/or there is not enough transaction volume to allow for a decent mining reward, bitcoin cannot survive, because the network will not be secure enough.

What will drive demand is some sort of a or a few killer apps using bitcoin technology, easier access to bitcoin (KYC turns off a lot of people) and a better understanding of bitcoin in the general population.

what you are talking about? it is clear like the sun that if the demand stay the same and supply reward will be halved the price MUST GO UP, there is no other alternative, this is a simple logic

this is one of the worst scenario, where demand isn't going up, then you have the scenario where demand going up because of killer app like you said, and then the scenario where it go down, those are only possible scenario

miners will keep mining because their efficiency will be greater, this is a reason why satoshi settled the halving every 4 years to give time to the technology to advance
14350  Other / Off-topic / Re: How many Bitcoins are lost forever? on: July 01, 2015, 08:05:50 AM
People that use cold wallet and forgot the key.. these bitcoins are lost forever isnt it?

not rally, there is always a chance of a collision, especially in the future with quantum computer, so you can't really say that they are 100% lost, it isn't impossible to retrieve them in some way in the future
14351  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Bitcoin Will Bite the Dust" report on: July 01, 2015, 08:02:32 AM
In the bigger picture, it doesn't matter if bitcoin makes it or not. But the concept of cryptocurrencies is here to stay.

if bitcoin fall which is the coin that is carry the whole crypto concept, then it would cause a huge loss of confidence in the cryptoworld, it's better for bitcoin to stay alive

so it actually matter

apparently the article can not understand the difference between farm and pool, there is no centralization in mining until one big farm or pool is controllig 51%
14352  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: From 370,000 Full Bitcoin Nodes to 6,000: What happened? on: July 01, 2015, 07:58:13 AM
30GB blockchain is hard to download for simple users.
I used to run full node when it was 3GB.

the problem was always the bandwidth, but it is actually the fact that some country are far behind in technology, so it is not really a fault of bitcoin here

also those same people who are whining about 30gb(not you, i'm talking in general) are the one that will download any game above 30gb on the first day of the release, via torrent...a bit ironic....

you can DL 30gb in less than 10 hours with 8mega connection, 8 mega should be available to everyone in 2015...
14353  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If bitcoin was accepted everywhere would you use it? on: July 01, 2015, 07:53:29 AM
I am curious as to why and who would use bitcoin if it was accepted everywhere.

Very few 'buyers of bitcoin' will ever use Bitcoin to make traditional purchases, even if it's accepted everywhere. And here's why ...

Not a single person on this forum has been able to provide an "intelligent" explanation as to why a consumer would willingly and regularly take an extra step to make a purchase. Why would my next door neighbor go to the trouble to buy BTC to make a purchase when he could have already made the same purchase using the debit card in his pocket.

What is his motivation for taking that extra step?

Because if I use my debit card to by heroin online they'll know who I really am.

My favorate edible panties store only takes Bitcoin.

Contract assassins give 2% cash back for Bitcoin.

what if you cash at your atm and you use cash to by eroine? not much different than doing it in bitcoin, but i think worse, because no one will know how you used those little money

I am curious as to why and who would use bitcoin if it was accepted everywhere.

bears in mind that the OP is talking about a scenario where the wage is payed directly in bitcoin, so you don't need to buy any bitcoin, this is the real difference and that's the only advantage that fiat have over bitcoin right now

if it wasn't for that stupid advantages bitcoin would be a far better choice than any fiat garbage
14354  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price is fighting to $300 in July! on: July 01, 2015, 07:49:53 AM
i believe we fall again a bit, as soon as all the hype around greece will fall, and start to be ignored, it's always like that

touch 300 again and holding on that value will be a tough game, there is already some resistance since yesterday
14355  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: should i move my ''saving'' to Bitcoin? on: July 01, 2015, 07:47:53 AM
i don't know where you live, but if your country is poor, or has a bad economy, maybe would be a good idea to move something into bitcoin even 50% is not that risky

and don't base your decision on one bad event (the 1200 ath), beause i'm sure that if that stupid manipulation never happend, you won't have asked such question
14356  Economy / Economics / Re: Nearly 70% of Bitcoin users earn less than $100,000 annually - Coindesk on: July 01, 2015, 07:44:34 AM
well were not all rich..

If you make 100k a year that means youre hold a position that most people wont have, and youre there based on your skills.

The comment above about someone walking away with 12 mill seems very possible, but what about taxes? lol.

one with a salary like that don't care too much about taxes, his money can cover anything and be healthy for decades

all those rich money don't even care about bitcoin i presume, they have already what they need, unless they are playing the game "i want to be the richer of the world" then it should be pointless for them to earn more money
14357  Economy / Economics / Re: Massive Program Buy in Crypto Last Week? (15 June 2015) Start of Something Big? on: July 01, 2015, 07:40:12 AM
The price could of been anything honestly, everything effects its price.

Some whale, some knc miner selling most of their stuff or something, it can be anything lol. Right now its up due to greece, so when I mean everything effects its price, it just means theres a influx of demand coming from different sources all scattered.

not really , i think it is only one thing plus some hype for the grexit, the first thing is the litecoin halving then the drama about the greece

a combination of those two alone can rise the price significantly, then add all the good old news about bitcoin, and you're done, you get that mini pump

usually if bitcoin rise, many who are holding many rubbish coin, get excited and start buy more of those coins that they are holding, it happened many times in the past, but this time the rise isn't so significative...
14358  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Brazil has more than 150 stores that accept bitcoin on: July 01, 2015, 07:38:28 AM
Wow 150 stores in a country today is a big deal. Do they ship worldwide Tongue

the ship cost would kill you as usual, it does not matter if you pay in bitcoin or you pay with rock...

but if those shops offer a discout, if you pay in bitcoin, then it would be another story

still the OP has not reply, regarding the nature of those shops, if they are all electronic shops, then we aren't doing much in terms of progress
14359  Economy / Economics / Re: imagine of Greece adopted bitcoin on: July 01, 2015, 07:35:58 AM
hack? not possibile, the price would rise because more people are using bitcoin without dumping it, so what will happen is that at first they will help some whales dumping their bitcoin, because the price is increased, then if other nation that have not a good economy and see the greece example as a good example, then they would shift too , to bitcoin

what i think is that we need someone to do the first big move, for bitcoin to start skyrocket all over the place

a good thing about adopting bitcoin, is that you will be helped by everyone, because the price is influence globally and not only by the country that adopted it
14360  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How would you tell kids about bitcoin? on: July 01, 2015, 07:31:06 AM
i would tell them about bitcoin, through a game like flappy bird, with the version in which you earn bitcoin

and then tell them that those are real money that you can use in real life
