1441  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum 3.3.8 on a 32-bit Computer on: September 07, 2019, 08:08:46 AM
Why don't you try installing it using PIP? Alternatively, you can download the AppImage.

Code:
sudo apt-get install python3-setuptools python3-pip
python3 -m pip install --user Electrum-3.3.8.tar.gz

It should work fine on a 32-bit system. By the way, you should have a 32-bit version of Python.

Edit: Before that, you can change the permissions of that folder.

Code:
sudo chmod -R 644 /home/richard/.electrum/daemon
1442  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Criticisms of the Lightning Network on: September 05, 2019, 09:26:45 PM
that's why I'm suggesting ACINQ's route finding might be at fault, both Zap and Eclair no doubt share some codebase as both are developed by ACINQ

Are you sure about that? I am quite sure that Zap is strictly related to LND (its GitHub seems to prove that too).
1443  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: [ESHOP launched] Trezor: Bitcoin hardware wallet on: September 05, 2019, 01:16:12 PM
Hm, today I update the new firmware on my Trezor One, after that, I have a new look of my first screen on them. Now I am not sure is it comes with the new firmware or I have a hardware problem. i did a couple of transactions and everything seems to be fine.

It is a new security feature. The appearance of these randomly generated white pixels mitigates the recently discovered OLED display information leak. Trezor T is not affected since it uses a different type of display. You can learn more about this vulnerability here.
1444  Local / Polski / Re: Jak zmienić wygląd Bitcointalk na ciemny (Dark Theme)? on: September 05, 2019, 09:30:00 AM

1445  Local / Polski / Re: Ogólne rozmowy na temat kampanii sygnatur on: September 05, 2019, 09:24:04 AM

Niepokoi mnie sytuacja w Development & Technical Discussion.
1446  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger Nano X - Withdrawal to from e.g. Nicehash Wallet - Enter valid BTC addres on: September 05, 2019, 07:23:30 AM
So , having set the Ledger Nano X up, what would you do? Transfer the funds to another wallet and set it up again, this time as "Segwit" ??

You should be able to add a new account in the Ledger Live. I don't remember the exact process and I can't check it right now, but the wallet should ask you what kind of account you want to set up. Select nested SegWit (addresses starting with 3). There is no need to reinitialise your device or use a different wallet. Once you create a new account, you don't have to transfer your funds from the old one. You can have two or more accounts at the same time.
1447  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Some help required if possible. Silly mistake on: September 04, 2019, 09:48:18 PM
Would i be better to just get a new laptop as i am due a new one anyway?

That would be an overkill. Reinstalling the operating system should be more than enough. If you want to get a new laptop anyway then do so. Always download software from the official website and verify it if it is related to your money (just like I described above).
1448  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Some help required if possible. Silly mistake on: September 04, 2019, 09:08:25 PM
Have the latest version 4.0.0

The latest version is 3.3.8. You have a fake version of Electrum, uninstall it at once. Download Electrum from the website I posted above and generate a new wallet. Open your old wallet and move your funds to the new one before it's too late.
1449  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Some help required if possible. Silly mistake on: September 04, 2019, 08:49:06 PM
Yes the address still shows up in my receiving list but i have a balance of Zero. Will this be timing issue?

It looks like a synchronization problem. What version of Electrum do you have? Versions older than 3.3.0 can't connect to the servers now. Download the latest version from the official website. Make sure to verify the installer. If you have the latest version then try changing the server by clicking on the dot in the bottom-right corner.
1450  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Some help required if possible. Silly mistake on: September 04, 2019, 08:36:01 PM
Anyone know if its possible to retrieve?

Electrum automatically changes the address in the 'Receive' tab once you receive some coins to it. You can reuse it as many times as you want. If you see your transaction in the 'History' tab then everything is fine. Since you sent it to yourself, you should see that a small amount of coins has been deducted from your wallet (a transaction fee). You can see a list of your addresses by selecting 'View-> Show Addresses' and going to 'Addresses' tab.

1452  Economy / Lending / Re: LoyceV's Legendary Little Lightning Loans on: September 04, 2019, 05:16:55 PM
I'm connected to BonsaiSoftware's node, peer ID: 02a5fa844d310f582d209fe649352b225440b8a54e77361f229bb92ee263c87e6f

It seems to be well-connected. ACINQ, satoshilabs, bitreffil, LNBIG.com nodes have open channels with this node, so the liquidity shouldn't be the issue.
1453  Economy / Lending / Re: LoyceV's Legendary Little Lightning Loans on: September 04, 2019, 05:06:16 PM
@LoyceV, could you post a screenshot of that error message? I am quite sure that it used to look different. One month ago, Eclair Mobile got an update in which they fixed an issue in route calculation for direct payments. Do you have the latest update? Also, can you try paying the following invoice? Don't worry, I won't rip you off Wink

Code:

I got a different error. "Processing node does not know the next peer in the route".

1457  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum and Ledger Nano S - BTC legacy addresses on: September 01, 2019, 10:35:08 PM
Do you know by chance if Ledger used some sort of default btc legacy address? (in derivation path 0') and if Electrum then showing that default address or addresses in derivation path 0' ?

Addresses generated by Electrum should be exactly the same as the ones in the Ledger Live. The order of the addresses should also match. If there were any coins in your wallet, you would have already seen them.
1458  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum and Ledger Nano S - BTC legacy addresses on: September 01, 2019, 10:23:21 PM
I can still check for more but if I see it right I can presume that I never send any BTC to this ledger?

There is no point in checking more accounts. As far as I remember, Ledger does not allow to create new accounts if the previous ones didn't receive any coins (at least that's how it worked in the Chrome extension). Did you use a passphrase by any chance? If not then it looks like you didn't send any coins to this device.
1459  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Why is 550 (MiB) chosen for minimum storage size for prune mode? on: September 01, 2019, 10:01:45 PM
Would you please explaining what the logic behind 550 is? Is there any kind of difficulty level relating to 51% attack or any other stuff like that?

Basically, pruned nodes should be able to withstand chain reorganizations lasting at least 2 days. Take a look at the following quote for more detailed explanation.

The minimum allowed is 550MB. Note that this is in addition to whatever is required for the block index and UTXO databases. The minimum was chosen so that Bitcoin Core will be able to maintain at least 288 blocks on disk (two days worth of blocks at 10 minutes per block). In rare instances it is possible that the amount of space used will exceed the pruning target in order to keep the required last 288 blocks on disk.
1460  Economy / Services / Re: Pretty Addy Giveaway - part 2 on: September 01, 2019, 07:31:19 PM
I just double checked what they did and it seems that they didn't use bitaddress.org to generate a vanity specific keypair, but rather a normal Bitcoin address (which is what VanitySearch seems to require).

Certainly, I did not use bitaddress.org's vanity wallet feature. I think that I generated my keypair using VanitySearch. It looks like I followed this guide.
