R.I.P Steve Jobs. Didn't always agree with your opinions/visions, but it is undeniable that you MADE Apple, and all the great products that we enjoy today.

Hope you are in peace Steve Sad ...
1443  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mass Global Protests set for 15TH of October. on: October 05, 2011, 06:53:08 PM
This should be taken as an oppertunity around the world to spread the word of bitcoin
Yes, actually no one knows the "true" solution. They all want transparency, they all want fairness, and they all want an end to the current system.

We have the SOLUTION!

1448  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: OccupyLA on 10/1 !! We will be there in Bitcoin Attire! Financial Revolution! on: September 30, 2011, 10:29:04 PM
The media is complaining there is no message.  The message should be "End the Fed.  Use Bitcoins!!!"
That's a radical message...

Bitcoin does not NEED A MESSAGE.

The media wants us to have a message so that they can write a better story at the end of the day, but a "message" IS NOT NECESSARY for a global decentralized currency to succeed...

EDIT: When I say Bitcoin does not need a message, I say this because the message that it brings is already solid enough. Bitcoin doesn't need a group of people protesting the fed outside of a governmental building. What it needs is committed developers/business people to come together, and make this economy explode. Bitcoins message of transparency, decentralization, and freedom will spread all on it's own, we just need to facilitate the growth instead of just talking about it.

The meek shall inherit the Earth my friends. I am just so excited that we are getting TONS of free publicity, and that our message is spreading to every part of the planet.

1452  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Ron Paul Cheering Entrance California on: September 21, 2011, 08:11:57 PM
Just wondering what is the appeal to Ron Paul ?  He is so far out there with his thinking how could he possibly win?
I agree with him on a few fundamental issues, but I think he is absolutely nuts with 70% of the stuff he says. That being said, he is still 99% better than all of the other Republican candidates combined.

Lucky for us, Congress only tends to allow Presidents to do at most 30% of the stuff they want to do Cheesy
Ron Paul with a totally liberal house/senate could be a very interesting thing to watch Smiley
1453  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Unknown National Chain Restaurant to Accept Bitcoin This Weekend on: September 21, 2011, 01:26:21 AM
I love how their topic went from being a comedy thread, and quickly turned into an investment thread. Lol, I actually think that was what was behind all the recent attacks.

Something for you guys to chew on.
The man is picking up steam!

From a political junkie perspective, Obama vs Ron Paul in 2012 makes for an epic election.

Edit: I am seriously about to consider switching my party affiliation just to help RP out.
1456  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SolidCoin v2.0 features new hashing algorithm, faster on CPUs on: September 20, 2011, 08:29:56 AM
And yes your excess memory use ideas are still silly in that regard Smiley
How so?
Quote
(I'm still sure you're just messing with him to make him use these ideas ... but hey if you are serious ... that's a worry Tongue)
These are quite sound ideas. If you know something wrong with them, do tell.

A CPU can trivially use 128MB for a split-second to validate a block header. Trying to do that on a GPU would slow you down to a crawl -- it doesn't parallelize well because the GPU doesn't have as many memory paths as it has execution units.

There is really nothing complicated about making a mining algorithm that works much better on a CPU than a GPU. After all, the algorithm -- so long as it is concatenated into a hash -- can be anything at all so long as it's deterministic. If all deterministic computing tasks could be done better on GPUs than CPUs, we wouldn't have any CPUs.

Good post.
