1442  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Warning ⚠️ there is a new hack that steals bank/crypto info on your phone on: January 20, 2023, 09:48:18 AM
Apart from the fact that the PDF file itself has a bad reputation, I don't understand how to send it to your phone. I literally broke my head trying to add some files to my phone in the SMS messages section. You can add a link to a file easily, but I couldn't add the file itself. Does Android allow sending files via SMS? There is also a blacklist for blocking unknown numbers; isn't this in Android? In any case, to avoid the temptation to open the file, remove the program from your phone that allows you to open PDF files.

But if you are constantly receiving such messages by email, maybe change your email?
I don't know the type of android phone you have but yes android phones allow sending files through messages ( MMS aka MultiMedia Messaging Service )  , if it's not working on your phone you might want to adjust some settings under messages.
1443  Other / Beginners & Help / Warning ⚠️ there is a new hack that steals bank/crypto info on your phone on: January 19, 2023, 04:30:20 PM
I don't know if this is the right place for this, I need to warn people about a new trick that hackers are using to drain bank accounts and crypto wallet.

someone living next to me lost over 2000$ in his bank account and tokens in his metamask all wiped out..the last thing he did before he started receiving debit alert is opening a PDF sent to his mobile number, that's it.

The same PDF that's been sent to me several times and since the sender hidden their number I can't block them for good, I just knew it feels wrong downloading a PDF file that I wasn't expecting.

Many people have already became a victim, most are not into crypto and they are blaming the banks.

If you are from Nigeria 🇳🇬 be very careful, the hackers form any +234 numbers and send them this PDF file, there are more than 5 people within my area that have received the same PDF, there are too many news about money vanished from bank accounts that's why many people are scared now.

I have deleted this shit over 20 times already but the sender keeps sending it back, if you know how I can block the sender ( hidden number ) please do share. God bless
1444  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Treat your Bitcoin as if it is already Worth 10x of what it is on: January 19, 2023, 01:39:48 PM
It's still going to be worth more than 10x anyway that's why we held unto our Bitcoin, it's the real digital gold, and holding for the long term is the game, truthfully it's not 10x right now and I don't need to start pretending that it's already 10x, what's your buying point? I guess that's what matters.

Come to think of it, if you fool yourself that Bitcoin is worth 10x and a big dump happens how will you feel? Because it looks like you are just playing with your emotions, you don't need to.

The present value is why I am buying, no dips no reason to buy.
1445  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A good way to promote Bitcoin or not? on: January 19, 2023, 10:56:38 AM
This is a good idea, there is a big advantage when displaying " we accept bitcoin payment here," in your store or business even if very little people are using Bitcoin as a means of making payment.

You are creating awareness even when there is no interest, those who will have interest will come anyway and they will start asking what Bitcoin is all about and how can they use it.

1446  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: what are the disadvantages of paper wallet on: January 19, 2023, 08:07:45 AM
Assuming you use your paper wallet in the correct way and sign your transaction offline, there is no need to create a new paper wallet every time you make a new transaction, unless you want to use a different change address due to privacy reasons.

You're technically right. Though this is something I don't expect the typical person is capable of doing correctly. Most people are simply a lot better fit to use hardware wallets.
Strange, am I the only newbie that started her crypto journey using paper wallet? The first wallets I created for BTC and LTC are paper wallets, later when I decided to move into altcoins I still went for altcoins that uses paper wallet, Electroneum was on of those altcoin back then, I just find paper wallet to be easier to use.
1447  Economy / Economics / Re: Your way of living the wage what you need to live normal life on: January 19, 2023, 07:05:42 AM
Right now 100$ per week is enough for me and my family, I know that people living in the U.S will need more than this to survive but dollar value to my local currency in my country is satisfying, I am still able to save some money and run my business, so as you can see I don't need a lot live a normal life.
1448  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The biggest dramas (noise) of 2022 in Bitcoin on: January 18, 2023, 10:48:04 AM
You've already listed the biggest drama of 2022 but that might not be all, I can't say about others but what's presently happening around Gemini and genesis is even scarier, I hope the Winklevoss brothers solve this behind the scene instead of taking the same route like CZ did, or else there will be FTX part 2.
1449  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Beware of cheaters on: January 18, 2023, 08:49:24 AM
Even if you want to claim these airdrops can't you just ask from the official group? This is the fastest way of bursting scam airdrops, for example Sushi isn't doing any airdrops it's all fraud, but as a newbie, if you are confused or not sure you could just ask the team, there you go.

There is a 100% chance that the team will tell you they aren't running any airdrops at the moment.

To know the official group and channels always use coinmarktcap, you've learned your lesson.
1450  Economy / Gambling / Re: give me back my money, 1xbit. 56 days since 1xbit scammed me for 1500 dollars on: January 18, 2023, 07:29:10 AM
This is why members on this forum are trying to protects people like you OP, I never knew 1xbit until I saw many accounts getting red trust for promoting 1xbit and I began my own research which ends up showing how scam of a company 1xbit is....

Before using any platform always make sure that people talk good about them on this forum, once they ruined their reputation we don't expect anyone to interact with them again.

Ask questions before making a conclusion, I am sorry for your loss.
1451  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: It's a shame people still falling for this on: January 17, 2023, 03:50:26 PM
I've seen this happen and the log in of the exchange they share is not like Binance exchange, they are cheap looking exchange and if you log in you will be required to make deposits, see this whole thing is a game for those scammers.

They intentionally drop the recovery seed, when greedy people see the recovery seed they will go and import the seed behind the scene, thinking they are smart and that's when things will start going side ways.

It's not a new trick a and just because you haven't seen it doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

It was all intentional.
1452  Other / Beginners & Help / It's a shame people still falling for this on: January 17, 2023, 03:18:13 PM
In this crypto space nobody is a fool except you are new to the crypto world and you decide to take a step without doing proper research, how can a stranger send you their login information for crypto exchange and tell you that they are entrusting you with their money and you believe?

How can someone work for their money and have access to millions of dollars and you are the God-sent stranger they can give the key to the millions and you are promised a percentage of the whole part? Do you work for the money or what?

You need to wise up, in this world today, people don't give up something without wanting something back, nothing is actually for free, so if someone contacted you on Twitter, Telegram, or any social media platform saying they can make you rich by helping them or they played dump as if they can't operate their wallet or account they are 100% scammers.
1453  Other / Archival / Re: Mass adoption: Naming my child bitcoin on: January 17, 2023, 09:04:41 AM
Are you on weed or something? Do you know what the impact of Name is in someone's life? If you name your child Bitcoin and something unexpected happens to Bitcoin in future it means you have ruined your child's life, he will be nothing but a failure at that point in time. And mind you, Names are forever magnet 🧲 that can never be erased till death comes.

A nickname is better, not the actual name.
1454  Economy / Economics / Re: Rich Mindset vs Poor Mindset : 6 key differences on: January 17, 2023, 07:27:55 AM
It's all about the mindset, imagine setting a goal of 5 years in mind, if you share that dream with the poor they will shout, saying they can't ever wait that long or they will think about death, like ' what will happen if I don't live that long, excuses upon excuses.

Years ago I tried to hard to bring people up, dream together and make something for ourselves, but they don't believe, they are the type that like quick action, get rich in weeks or months.

That's a great point Crypt0Gore.  One thing is to set goals, but another thing is to realize that it can take a long time to reach the more fulfilling goals, so one of the techniques that I recall from my youth was to consider various levels of goals, and to attempt to have some longer term goals in mind that all kind of lead to an ultimate goal (of course, these can be changed as they are reached or get closer to being reached) and then to strive towards making progress towards the goals on a daily basis... there surely will be subgoals in the middle, so the subgoals that are on the list may well be various things that need to be achieved (or are on one path) towards achieving the BIGGER goal.. but also sometimes the paths along the way (and subgoals), might have some divergences or failures; however, there can be alternative paths that could still allow for striving towards the ultimate goal, but ONLY become known or pursued once a previous path might no longer be applicable.

You can also write down a goal on a piece of paper and look at it everyday to ask yourself "what have i done today to make progress towards that goal?", and to attempt to continue to be realistic in terms of frequently the progress being incremental and sometimes set backs along the way.. and sometimes there also might be breakthroughs or luck in which a lot of progress happens in a short time, perhaps based on previous preparations that put the person in a position of being able to take advantage of opportunities (short-cuts) that end up presenting themselves.. then if the goal looks too easy because you thought that you were going to reach it in 20 years, but you reach it in 10 years, that should not preclude setting new goals.
Many people says writing the goal is so important to accomplish it - I plan it all the time and then I don't do it.
although we all have to die - but than we have to struggle to make our living better - everytime I attend a funeral I lose interest in the life.
It is better to work towards your dream and die trying than to have a long life and live a miserable life, I have seen too many R.I.P in my own world and I also feel like struggling less but I ask myself, what if I am destined to live a long life?

My enemies won't have their way, never, I have been told too many times that I won't succeed in life and lately they are surprised, it is just the beginning, giving up on my dream is like a dead man walking.

Do not give up just because your life can end at any time, who are you to say that?

1455  Economy / Economics / Re: Rich Mindset vs Poor Mindset : 6 key differences on: January 17, 2023, 06:08:28 AM
Setting goals for yourself and working todays the goal is the best way to make the impossible to be possible, if something is going to take me 5 years to achieve I won't rely on a single strategy, 5 years is not a joke and my effort could go to waste if all I have is one strategy, it's just like putting all your eggs in one basket.

To avoid this you need more than one good strategy, if you want to investment make sure you diversity.

I came from a poor background and I walk my way up, it took me a very long time and that's why people do not believe in me, in my country most youths like magical effect when it comes to money, a shortcut to riches is their dream.

1456  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: immune Boosters in the Forum on: January 16, 2023, 06:49:52 PM
Straight up fact OP, but how did you know these? You are a newbie that's why I asked how you knew? I have no other thing in mind than to believe that this is an alternative account, many members tend to pretend as if merits doesn't matter, mean while merits brings you closer to your next ranks and higher rank means better payout joining signature campaign, this is just the fact.

There is nothing wrong with learning and earning, I believe this is the definition of Bitcointalk forum, in fact there is more to learning on here than earning.

If you want to stay motivated on the forum it's better to love what you do, even if you have all the merits on the forum you will get bored as time goes on, keep learning and work more on yourself, only do what makes you happy and you won't ever get bored.

As for investment Bitcoin is the most certain, less risky and future reliable, there isn't much to talk about investing in Bitcoin but altcoins have a wider range of discussions since there are just too many altcoins out there and believe me, it's a wild west.
1457  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I'm planning on hosting a BTC seminar and a friend also followed my path on: January 16, 2023, 05:37:35 PM
A friend of mine who is also a fashion designer like me has start accepting bitcoin payment yesterday, she is one of the very few that I thought about Bitcoin in 2021and she is also an investor in BTC and few other coins and after paying me a visit and saw that I have started accepting Bitcoin payment she decide to take the same route..
It has to start from somewhere, but from the time you started accepting crypto payments what's the general feedback you getting from the public... Are the people  actually using this tech or wondering what the QR codes are all about... And how are you protecting your money from bearish markets if those funds aren't converted into fiat immediately?

Some people are even showing more interest in Bitcoin in my City, I am thinking of hosting a seminar about Bitcoin but I want to make sure I invite the right people, have anyone hosted a BTC seminar before? Any good advice on this?
Great initiative but the problem with seminars that don't have a guaranteed number of participants is you will spend more of your pocket money to put this event together to cover venue, snacks expenses etc and if it becomes a paid event participation will also likely drop. But if you can partner up with other tech companies in your locality that can benefit greatly from Intergrating crypto payments it should help cut down on costs on your side.

All the best.
I like good questions like this @woodie

Some times I get good result from the public and most times they are bad, but honestly, I was expecting the bad side more, like people who said No that Bitcoin is a scam because a friend of theirs lost his or her money without understanding what they did wrong. They are not even ready to listen, like they've make up their mind already.

Few people show good interest in Bitcoin and it's the real source of my motivation, I like talking about crypto and Bitcoin, I can go on and on for a long talking about ideas and possible outcomes in coming years.

Whenever I get paid in Bitcoin I always swap to Fiat ( most times 80% ) and leave the extra gains in Bitcoin since I planned to keep holding for a long period, I gotta keep my business flourishing, so I order cloth materials to put back on the shelf for sale and sewing. I am also a fan of stable coin too, to avoid volatility.
1458  Economy / Services / Re: 🚧[SERVICE] Signature/Bounty Campaign Management on: January 16, 2023, 05:09:31 PM
Bump
j.campaingsare very trustworthy not unlike other campaign groups. They accept scam bounty campaigns charge them, launch the campaign, then said that the project administrator is not responding when it comes time to pay. Thank you, "julerz12" sir, for The good and legit bounty campaigns.
That's Julerz12 for you, he is the John Wick of Bounty campaigns, a no-nonsense one-man army, and he stands out among the rest.
1459  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Google Ads-delivered malware drains NFT influencer’s entire crypto wallet on: January 16, 2023, 04:46:53 PM
I was about to make a similar topic on the forum, you are just faster than me, Google doesn't care who wants to use the company name as source of advert, they already have big reputation and users need to take responsibility for every links they visit through google, I have seen this search engine promoting scams few times in the past, Ponzi scheme using google for promotion and you can see 20% interest as on Google search engine. This sucks so much but they just don't care.

Users are the one to be careful with google, just because they are big does not mean they are scam free.
1460  Economy / Speculation / Re: Did you sell off during the 21k price breach. on: January 16, 2023, 12:52:14 PM
I took some profits, I feel like this is a bull trap, we can't ignore that it's too early for any bull market at this time so this is the best you can do, to me this is another relief rally and we need to continue going side ways, if the pump continues it's not a healthy one, there will be a massive correction.

Even if 30,000$ per Bitcoin happens in 2023 we can still see a retest of 15,000$ again, lower your expectations until halving season before expecting a reliable market uptrend.
