1441  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Need help - How to do signeture camping .. on: March 09, 2023, 07:23:36 AM
A crypto newbie shouldn't join project campaigns right away, as it hasn't been long since you got ranked up to Junior Member. I suggest that you keep learning about crypto, and particularly Bitcoin, until you reach the Member rank, when you can start looking for signature campaigns to promote. It will be difficult for you to contribute on the forum if you know too little about cryptocurrency, which is why learning is your top priority.
1442  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Common red flag to detect a scam on: March 08, 2023, 02:10:10 PM

have the ability to recognize when we are the target.
You only know that your PC is infected with a virus or malware after the PC starts to behave abnormally.

You can not always recognize when you are a target, every person browsing the internet day by day are at risk of getting under the scammer's feet, all internet users are automatically a target to scammers, have this in your mind and know peace.

Just don't do anything stupid, like clicking on random links online, visiting fake or malicious websites, anyone could fall for this even when they are very cautious.

1443  Economy / Gambling / Re: What if bitcointalk creates a casino review and ratings board for members. on: March 08, 2023, 12:49:30 PM
Don't trouble yourself, we have positive and negative trust for this reason, since all gambling and casino projects have an announcement thread on this forum this is the best way to deal with them.

If any ANN thread gets locked because of unwanted discussion then they should be given negative trust too, it means they are up to no good, and they are trying to avoid some fact.

This is why I don't gamble on any platform or websites that doesn't have an announcement thread opened on this forum. There is no what to know if the gambling platform have earned any reputation so far or they have ruined their rep themselves.
1444  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you guys think that there will be a new technology to recover lost of Bitcoin on: March 08, 2023, 11:15:04 AM
You asked this class of question because you have exceptionally low knowledge about how Bitcoin works, there is never going to be a way to recover any lost Bitcoin. If your Bitcoin got stolen through phishing, the person on the other side will need to be controlled to send back your Bitcoin, tell me how technology is going to make this happen unless you have some mind-controlling Voodoo power or you are a sorcerer.

If you mistakenly lost or forget your recovery seed, it is going to remain lost forever,  I read a story about a millionaire who wants to get back his lost Bitcoin key with everything he has, this person hired professionals, till this day he failed to recover the wallet keys, I think it has something to do with his hard disk storage getting spoilt or damage. They failed to recover the Bitcoin.
1445  Economy / Gambling / Re: I got frusted please help? on: March 08, 2023, 08:57:01 AM
I guess what you need is a free betting platform, I doubt there is any out there, what you will get is the likes of claiming Bitcoin every hour like freebitco website, their faucet is free till date but you will never get the result you so desired, nothing comes for free OP, you need to make some deposits and try your luck, every gambling platforms have a different set of games, just find a niche that you can get used to and play out of fun, do not forget though, to play responsibly.
1446  Economy / Gambling / Re: What else should an established crypto casino add? on: March 07, 2023, 02:31:33 PM
There is nothing a gambling platform does better than accepting various types of crypto coins for gambling on their platform.

Also, I vote for complete transparency, some gambling projects failed to be transparent about their requirements when players win big amounts of money, wait till you win and they will tell you they are sorry unless you are ready to go through KYC verifications.

They should show this on their websites as part of their rules, not after winning some money and waiting to withdraw.

1448  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I found my Bitcoin books from 2016 on: March 07, 2023, 11:44:13 AM
How did you know about Bitcoin in 2016, 2017 and know about those faucets but did not join the forum earlier?

You only joined Bitcointalk in 2022, about less one year and one month ago. It is good to know that you are Bitcoin adopter since 2016, 2017 and you are survivor since the past bear market and a current one because you are still here, around Bitcoin, this market and are a member of this forum.

Would you mind sharing what happened with you since 2016 till 2022, please.

Today you can claim Bitcoin at this faucet: https://freebitco.in/site/bitcoin-faucet/

I am not sure about other faucets.

A first Bitcoin faucet is Get 5 free bitcoins from freebitcoins.appspot.com in June 2010.
I knew the forum existed, I have once stumbled on the forum before but I see no reason to join, I just prefer using google search engine to find my answers, also, I was more attractive to design of the website I visited, seeing how Bitcointalk forum is just white and black with nothing more I closed the website, probably my second mistake.

If I had just take my time to at least read why the forum existed, I would have learned a lot.

I just knew that Nakamoto Satoshi has an account on this forum not too long ago, imagine.
1449  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / I found my Bitcoin books from 2016 on: March 07, 2023, 10:10:30 AM
I was doing some cleanup in my store yesterday and I saw my books that I used for storing vital information about Bitcoin in 2016 and 2017, these books have some good and bad memories behind them.

When I started my Bitcoin journey years ago, I had nothing, yet, a day will not pass by, that I will not stare at Bitcoin value online, I came to know about Bitcoin when I was looking for how to make money online, and my desire to have some Bitcoin in my wallet grew so much that I started hunting for satoshis through faucets.

If you are into Bitcoin in 2016/2017 these faucets should sound familiar to you, I am sure that these faucets are not working anymore today,  even if they do, its not worth it anymore.

I did this for a whole year, from the mid of 2016, claiming every hours and some are every 30 minutes, after a year of gathering some satoshis I ended up losing them all because of free wallet and xapo wallet,  I don't know they are custodial wallets, I couldn't even tell the difference between an open source wallet and closed source in that period.

After losing everything, I started buying some Bitcoins using my pocket money, I was suppose to use the money to buy some foods and transport myself to school, I was so obsessed that I prefer walking down to school almost everyday, but in the end I had to go back and sell some part of the Bitcoin, because the suffering was too much, believe me,  Bitcoin investment is not easy for those that have no good source of income.

I switched completely from faucets to airdrop in March 2017 and the result was way better than expected,  I made my first 500$ through few airdrops and I quickly use it to buy some Bitcoin, I felt so happy and I abandoned free wallet and xapo and moved to Copay wallet, this was how I knew about recovery seeds.

In December of 2017 my Bitcoin have added good value,  that same month was when my little brother got so sick and nearly gave up, I had no choice but to sell some of my Bitcoin again, because it got to a point where my parents can't afford the hospital bill anymore.

They were surprised how I got the money, I was asked some questions later as if I was in a courtroom facing a panel, they don't believe at first but later they did, we had an amazing Xmas, again,  selling some part of my Bitcoin.

In 2018 the bear market hitted so hard that I sold all my Bitcoin,  the biggest mistake that cost me,  I expected Bitcoin to keep growing and growing, with some ignorance in my body, how could I have known that Bitcoin will be volatile at some point? Lack of learning and doing some research I guess.

I summoned my courage in 2018, I restarted my journey once again,  by learning more than chasing,  this was how I was able to finally understand more about Bitcoin, I should have known, and focus more on reading about every possible mistake someone could make.

Till this day, i am still unable to get the exact amount of Bitcoin I sold at the time, all because of fear and panic, I should have just held than let the bear market scare me out.

I hope someone learn one or two from my journey, if you can't afford Bitcoin, find a source of income first, enough to feed your needs and enough for savings or else you will go back to the last savior you have ( Your Bitcoin wallet) and spend it all to survive.

There is nothing that beats learning, maybe I would have had a different outcome if I focused more on learning. Because I will understand how valuable Bitcoin will be in the future.

1451  Other / Beginners & Help / Their Involvement in dex projects valid or invalid on: March 06, 2023, 10:20:05 AM
I have two good questions today that need some opinions and answers,  I have thought this through and I still can't rap this around my head, here is the definition of the word decentralized from wiki.

Are venture capital investors not banks and centralized investing companies? yes or no?

If Yes, is it right to bring in venture capital into a decentralized crypto project? Wouldn't this make the name 'decentralized' of a project invalid?

Also, I have seen posts about some saying that Bitcoin is the only true decentralized project, how valid is this? Out of like, thousands of crypto projects we have in this space, how is it that only Bitcoin is fully decentralized?
1452  Other / Beginners & Help / They are milking money out of us on: March 06, 2023, 08:51:21 AM
AI technology and crypto is like a sea with a mixture of water and oil.

If you are so into these AI narratives,  have it in mind that these must be treated like meme coins,  take profits aggressively and never look back.

If you go on dex tool search you will get over 200+ crypto projects with gpt and AI names on them and there are currently over 1000 AI projects now in the crypto space.

Few have a good use case, like one that generates AI pictures, but the question is why this needs a token. Some even went ahead and raise funds from the public, like seriously? What for?

Some Facts About AI projects in Crypto

*No AI project needs a token, it makes no sense.

*They are 99% Ponzi schemes.

*The real ChatGPT has nothing to do with crypto, that's why they stayed off.

*Ride the high wave and dump on retail investors, that's the goal.

*Some can be bought and can not be sold later, so only the dev gets rich.

The likes of Fetch and Ocean are data exchange and marketplace-based projects,  they have nothing to do with AI, another good example is the Graph, it's all about on-chain data still, and these are the big players under the so-called AI project and they barely have anything to do with AI.

I have completely lost my respect for some big projects that existed before the AI hype begins, and they audaciously start tweeting 🐦 about AI stuff for their projects, why is that? To ride along the hype and get their bags pumped.

Avoid AI projects at all costs if possible, unless you have some money you are ready to gamble with,  think about it very well, crypto space and its projects are better off without AI,  this won't last long, instead.

Focus on useful utilities that is sensible for crypto in general,  or just stick with Bitcoin, do not be one of those that will have horror stories to say about AI investments in future.
1453  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is a P2P exchange? on: March 05, 2023, 09:13:02 PM
Binance exchange is a complete centralized crypto trading exchange.
They offer peer 2peer service,  and that doesn't make them decentralized in any way, to me,  it's still centralized.

But if I have to use any p2p exchange  I will still choose Binance because they play the middleman role very well, I have used a few p2p exchange years ago and I lost money because no middleman to clarify if truly a transaction happens or someone is trying to cheat the other,

If you have used Paxful in the past you will understand what I am talking about, I don't think I can get used to a P2P exchange without the Middleman, no I won't do it, this middleman of a thing is why justice is been served on Binance exchange.  You can't cheat someone and get away with it unless you break the rules.

On Paxful, I provided some proof of the transaction and they still release funds to the scammer, this was just one out of many stories I had with p2p platforms out there,  there are more.

1456  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Security feature will still work as intended? on: March 03, 2023, 03:56:59 PM
You want to import a seed phrase from an online wallet to a hardware wallet? Do not try it at all, always generate seed phrase directly on hardware wallet, it is unique because the seed phrase and the keys are offline.

Most hot/software wallets use shorter seed lengths than hardware wallets
It depends on that hardware wallet, Trezor created Trezor model one and Trezor model T. Trezor model one generates 24 words seed phrase but Trezor model T generates 12 words seed phrase. But the main point is that be it 12 or 24 word seed phrase, a malware on an online device is able to compromise a wallet and know the seed phrase. Also 12 word seed phrase is still having the same bits of security as 24 words seed phrase.
Now I get it, thanks for explaining better,  you and @jackg,  I don't know how hardware wallets function,  I thought the only thing that makes a hardware wallet different from a hot wallet is the security side of things and also keeping the wallet offline.
1457  Other / Beginners & Help / Security feature will still work as intended? on: March 03, 2023, 01:54:59 PM
There are things I still don't know about crypto hardware wallet and since this forum is here for people like me,  I will like to ask one or two question concerning importation of hot wallet into a hardware wallet.

Can someone import a hot wallet account into a hardware wallet? And the hardware wallet security features will still work and guide the imported hot wallet account?

Assuming I am coming from a trust wallet for example, will the hardware wallet not feel concerned that it doesn't generate this hot wallet in the first place,  why should it care?

Sorry if my question bother you, I don't know how to write this any better, crypto wallets aren't supposed to feel or have feelings.

1458  Other / Beginners & Help / Why recommend when they don't understand the risks? on: March 03, 2023, 11:36:57 AM
Anything different from bitcoin is a pure gamble, before you start telling your friends and family about how crypto investment can change their lives, let them know that they are in for some pure gambling.

We could act like we know what we are doing, based on how we handle research but it's still all a hopeful gamble on the future,  let's not forget that even crypto experts have fell for the bad eggs im the past too.

I prefer keeping my mouth shut, rather than ending up looking like a clown when things failed to go my way after talking about how this coin can be 50x and how the other can 100x.

Instead of carrying your burden and that of your crypto investment, imagine having to carry the burden of others that invested based on what you tell them to,  without understanding the risks involved.

And when things failed to go your way, you will have to worry about how others are feeling about you because they are also in losses. You will end up regretting taking someone along on that uncertain journey.

The only way to avoid these is to accept that you are just like everyone else with a specific interest, keep your mouth shut when it comes to crypto investment, and only open up to those that are into crypto just like yourself.

I am talking about those that already understand how the market can be highly volatile at times and how even a good project could end up in a bin of waste.

No matter how good projects look in this crypto space, the risk is always present.
1459  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you still hunt for airdrops? on: March 03, 2023, 10:37:22 AM
Airdrop is outdated, since 2018 I have not seen a good airdrop campaign that paid good amount for money,  99% of the projects failed to pay and the few that paid are in few dollars, around, 1$ to 10$,  this was what I've seen in past airdrops I joined. The best way to earn free tokens from new projects right now is through testnet, today,  many new projects are still looking for testers and I have joined many, like Arbitrum, Shardeum,  zksync, and a few others, I believe that testnet is worth anybody's time than airdrops.
1460  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Caution Newbies Bitcoin is BTC on: March 03, 2023, 07:42:16 AM
It is very easy to detect the difference between Bitcoin and BFicoin,  who the hell fell for this? They can easily fall for BiCoin, Bytcoin, and others, this is simple idiocy,  even as a crypto newbie it is stupid not to be able to tell the difference unless you don't have any level of education,  sorry OP,  this is unacceptable.
