14401  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Profit-switching scrypt+ASIC Pool] multipool.us on: February 10, 2014, 07:00:52 PM
I love this pool, but the news kinda disappointed me.  "Feb 09 6:43 PM Our share offering is on hold pending attorney review.  If it turns out that the offering will be canceled, all shares will be repurchased at the IPO price.  We will be placing buy orders at the IPO price in case anyone would like to sell their shares back immediately."

If you got BTC from these shares (and I dont know if you did) its kinda sad if you make server upgrades and such then pay back IPO with no additional fee added for time BTC was held and possibly used.

I haven't made any server upgrades or done anything with the funds.  How could I have done that in 2 days?  If the offering is canceled, the funds will be bought back at the same price they were sold.  As soon as I announced the news I put in a buy order at the IPO price for anyone who wants to return their shares now.

I said I didn't know if you did.  It could be done if you had cloud hosting, does not have to be a new hardware purchased but could have been a temporary upgrade in servers etc.  But you say you didn't do that so that is better, but still kinda disappointing you had attorney review after IPO not before.

Also are Dodge requests to withdrawal stuck or running behind as person before posted?  Edit just paid out appears was just slow.
14402  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Does the H81/H61 Pro BTC Need Powered Risers? on: February 10, 2014, 03:43:55 PM
I really like the H81, i just wish i was able to get all non/powered.  After multiple testing I was able to get 5 cards running good with non-powered risers.  One card no matter what with non-powered one seems to run around 80khs (all cards are 280x's) so that is horrible.   As soon as parts get here Monday splitting between two motherboards.  Using two corsair RM 1000's as PSU's.

Windows 8.1, all latest drivers.

Is it better with powered riser?

Hoping to find that out soon when some hardware hopefully arrives (hopefully today).  All  my powered risers were in use and didn't want to take apart working rigs.  My review so far is good motherboard, but a little over hyped from them.  Looking back I should have just used all usb riser's and gotten the extra distance on risers.
14403  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: new R9 280x 5 to 10 card setup??? proffits expectatations? on: February 10, 2014, 07:18:48 AM
I'm sorry, new here and looking for some help on mining Doge and buying bitcoins. I have been researching bit and litecoin for over a month now. I'm almost ready to buy a Neptune and or Alpha's Viper with reservations on shelling out that kind of money and waiting for an unproven products.... So I set out to build a litecoin rig with 3 9790's to start. A very nice and helpful sales guy @ micro center sold me on a rig using 5 R9-280x's producing 3600 Khash. His guarantee is that on the low end it will generate $45 of dogecoins and more likely $60 a day then buy bitcoins with the Dge"s. I  have no idea how that will work.... When I went to http://www.coinwarz.com to calculate 3600 to 7200 Khash $21,9 @ 7200 and $10,1 @3600 khash (year) witch is a major disappointment. I was expecting around $43,8 with the 3600kh/s. Can I get help on what I may have done wrong on my calculations or am I just way off on my expectations?

I think he oversold 3600kh with 60 dollars per day profit.  But i do think your calculators are off with 3600 on coinwarz i get 33/38 dollars (using coinbase as selection and a conservative 2000 watts to run which it should not take all).   What watts are you putting in to do calculation?  That would be easiest to throw it off.

What have you found to be the best dodgecoin pool?  I tried a few, but was disappointed.
14405  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: mrugala group buy scammed! on: February 10, 2014, 05:33:10 AM
Never again will I buy without escrow, even from respected members with extensive trade histories.

Sorry to hear about the bad luck but your making bad choice on no more group buys overall.  Have had many good groups I've bought from.  The one you bought from was on second batch, so that is in no means extensive trade histories.

Always keep in mind if it sounds to good to be true... it normally is.  If major retail stores are having trouble keeping stock's of GPU's and someone comes along claiming to have access to lots of gpus and at super price.... should raise red flags.

Why does power connection from riser have to be all on the same PSU?

If you don't its a possibility you will see your card's send out this magical puff of smoke. That is one of the worst feelings you can have mining is seeing a GPU send up like a sos with smoke.

... My husband asked me to inform you as soon as possible. He is currently in hospital due to his meeting with one of the client... What the client did is robbed his of his wallet and password with 2 other guys. We tried reporting it to police but they said that they don't deal with "Guild Wars or World of Warcraft gold is not withing our reach, please talk with Bitcoin developer". We should get some money from the indemnity.....

I was not involved in this group buy.  But why is no one asking for police report number with city it was in?   I suspect if truly sent someone to hospital... there would be a report and most likely could be read online.  Without report number one would be lead to believe scam...

On these new usb powered risers, if you just need a non-powered riser can u use one of these and not plug power in it?

14412  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Profitable Mining Using Cloud Servers - $$$ More Coins - More Money $$$ on: January 29, 2014, 06:57:13 PM
Is there actually any real profit in this after paying for the cloud hosting fees? just curious.
On DigitalOcean no, and the OP doesn't care either. He's only promoting his referral link and earning $10 per paying signup.

On Amazon EC2 spot instances, sometimes, if you get a good price and choose the coin well

Have you tried it or you "just know"?
Yes, I did try. Azure, DO and Amazon EC2, mining Protoshares in December. Amazon EC2 spot instances is the best option.

DO is the best.

Chances are EC2 is best bet from my experiences.  DO being best is coming from guy who dosent mention referral in his link.... hes mining for free each time someone signs up under him.  I'm sure DO for him is great.

Also EC2 no hassle for heavy usage.... D0 if you do heavy usage (mining) be prepared for them to contact you.  Also use something like a pool so you have credit with D0 dont use something with just a wallet on their side.

They now have a new thread that threatens for slander....

I think some lawsuits must be hitting them about now.
14415  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Getting a loan to build mining rigs? on: January 27, 2014, 01:33:43 PM
I would HIGHLY recommend not taking out a loan on it. If you pay it off after 2 months in best case will you owe interest for entire term of loan? Get a second job if no savings.

First off losing money to the interest would suck.   Count on with that amount some crapping out dealing with RMA's.  Also electricity add that in to equation.  Also consider downtime it can be from anything from a flicker in power to internet down.  There are components out of your control that occasionally happen.

I would start off with one rig, pay it off then move on and on.   Dump more in as you can/want.  If they do make a asic that is reasonable on price it will make a huge change in it all.   The price of those scrypt asics right now are not to worry about, but when/if next gen hits there could be a huge bubble mining power.

Terrahash,

I know you watch this.

Be aware that many gave you the benefit of the doubt.
Do not misinterpret their silence as acceptance.
When doubt is fully eliminated - that patience transmutes into vigilance.
Do not underestimate what these individuals can do to you in court - these are the smartest people in the room.
Expect more class-action lawsuits from very dedicated and meticulous people if you don't take additional action immediately.

Thank you for your time.

The AtomSea

Expect them to be collecting salary during this time.... and running it till money is gone through  court or what ever happens and good luck getting money out of a company that is truly done.

Your best chance of them getting in trouble is finding the money trail.... want to take a bet their tax return going out does not include net gains from all this?   It will probley not happen.  But IRS would be most hurt that can happen as far as people involved in this.

By its own admission, Cloudhashing funded Terrahash to the tune of at least USD $80,000.00.

Has anyone asked Cloudhashing if it received a refund?

If not, someone should.

;P

You forgot your 2 cents
14420  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: {BFL} TigerDirect is making a BIG MISTAKE partnering up with Butterfly Labs! on: January 24, 2014, 11:11:53 PM
TigerDirect is big enough they might get better service.  Will be interesting if BFL sells through them.  If we see monarch.... we know big mistake.  If we see only instock all depends on price.
