Well it is early but we are way up.  Does not surprise me one bit. Price is right around 6800  and the next 2 weeks will be a bargain mining as even s9's make money at 5 cents.

I ordered one in april of 2019  for under 2500.  the preorder of the s17 was around 3100.  I got the second order for 2500.

so if this is 2900 the second batch should drop.
14465  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Canaan A1066 Pro Review. (soon ) on: March 26, 2020, 08:47:35 PM
Seriously it is true.

Why cant someone be criticising the Avalon? I had this experience and I am def not out to hurt Canaan.

I do own exactly 2 of these miners. And it is my experience. Some things you say are completely untrue.

Calling me a troll and a hire, seriously. Getting posts deleted and stuff. Ehh?!

It seem to be yourself that is biased if anyone. The long lead.time is absolutely true as I inquired about buying their new model and they recommended me to order already 3 months in advance.

I do keep an open mind about the A1066 and look forward to hear how people experience this machine.

off topic the thread is not on the new model it is on the a1066 pro

at first you had 1 model
then it became 2 models.

So I detected multiple critical points that are not consistent.
As for reliability the four I own are reliable.

I have 90 day screen shots of them. They had outages only when my whole farm was turned down for cleaning and maintenance .

Show me real evidence you had constant down time on your 1 now 2 units. Or leave the thread alone. I notice you are plugging the s19 hard on the bitmain thread.
14466  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: It is 2020 time for a new diff thread. on: March 26, 2020, 07:05:22 PM
No need to bet.  As to next diff it will go upwards if prices stay at 6600.

lets look at a 5 cent power guy

100 th is earning $12.03 ssd a day lets say it is a 40watt a th unit that is 96 kwatts

2 s17 profits
100th  $12.03 -6.00 =  6.03 profit      at 6 cent power
100th  $12.03 -5.00 =  7.03 profit      at 5 cent power
100th  $12.03 -4.00 =  8.03 profit      at 4 cent power
100th  $12.03 -3.00 =  9.03 profit      at 3 cent power
100th  $12.03 -2.00 =  10.03 profit    at 2 cent power

8 s9's set to 80watts
100th  $12.03 - 12.00 = 3 cents  profit    at 6 cent power
100th  $12.03 -  10.00 = 2.03     profit    at 5 cent power
100th  $12.03 -   8.00 =  4.03     profit    at 4 cent profit     this means all my s9's are back in profit
100th  $12.03 -   6.00 =  6.03     profit    at 3 cent profit
100th  $12.03 -   4.00 =  8.03    profit     at 2 cent power.

these charts show a lot of gear being turned back on at 6600 price.
100th  $12.03 -1.00 =  11.03 profit

14468  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain Introduces the S19 and S19 Pro on: March 26, 2020, 02:57:34 PM
I am hoping they  hold back and don't release any new gear for USA  until  April 15.

We  are planning to shut our 28 s9's down  soon.

We would like to push them until the ½ ing.

a 14 th machine is earning 50 a month  with free power.  they drop to 25 a month once ½ ing comes
these new 110 units earn  400 a month with free power.  they drop to 200 a month once ½  ing comes.

S9 out of pocket cost = 0   and it earns 50 a month right now.

s19 pro out of pocket cost = 3800 if trump tax is applied .  and it earns 0 until May 30

Simply can't justify buying one  even from after market with gray trump tax deal lets say 3200 cost that way.

I still don't get it until may 30  my power deal is 50-50  so we net 100 a month against a 3200 cost.  I need 32 months to break even.

This gear is so over priced it is a joke.  Even with free power  you break even in 16 months.
14469  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: It is 2020 time for a new diff thread. on: March 26, 2020, 01:08:55 PM
four second gap between 622,999 and 623,000 so a small amount of fees makes sense as time to fit them was 4 seconds.  still would think there was a few tx ids

i wonder how long the time gap was between block 622,999 and 622,998

kano has done some good info on really fast blocks .  i am pretty sure he posted some 1 or 2 or 3 second block stats and while they did not have a ton of tx ids they had some.

maybe he can post up some info on this.
14470  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: It is 2020 time for a new diff thread. on: March 26, 2020, 03:08:11 AM
Now we need to see if this big drop in diff hurts price.

Back in dec 2018 we had some price chase diff movement.

not the typical diff chases price.
14471  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: It is 2020 time for a new diff thread. on: March 26, 2020, 02:31:21 AM
2 blocks left to go  we will be right near -15.9%

coins are 6679

pool.viabtc will shift from

0.00001520 btc  a th

to

0.00001690? btc  a th

16% swing is a lot for me

2 ph will earn a lot more each day.

we are now at 13.9. vs 16.5

pretty nice drop.
14472  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcoin Discussion - Corona Virus Spamming on: March 25, 2020, 10:03:42 PM
Fact) Most posts on bitcointalk are made to earn coin via signature campaigns.

So  for the first time in all of our live's  there is a true world wide issue. Just like BTC  this virus does not give a fuck about borders.

And people  in this thread want to ban postng on it.

No just ban signatures for the next 2 weeks.

The bullshit earn money for a signature  posts go by by.

I for one have zero issues  with the corona-v posts  even the end of the world whack a doodle ones are fine by me.

I vote for a 2 week signature lock down.
14473  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Looking for cheap and quiet ASIC on: March 25, 2020, 05:26:59 PM
yeah an s9 doing 1 board  can be very quiet.

does 3-4 th pulls  300-350 watts

I have a thread on how to build
and someone riffed on my idea and has a thread on a better design

I also did some testing with a m10 and 2 boards.

set to low.

lastly there is a guy here selling a 2 board s15 which may be exactly what you want but you will need to supply 220 volt not 120 volt.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5232832.0

if you have 220 volt power his 2 board s15  set to low may be quiet enough for you
14474  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: It is 2020 time for a new diff thread. on: March 25, 2020, 05:00:48 PM
We may not adjust on Wed we may adjust on Thur at 1 or 2 in the morning. (eastern standard time)   diff is past -16%

I have noticed that large diff drops can cause price pressure.

Ie price chases diff vs diff chasing price.

So if we drop 16% in about 12 hours I expect price to drop under 6,000 within 2 days.

I am hoping it is a wrong assumption.
14475  Economy / Reputation / Re: User creating new accounts just to leave fake negative feedback on: March 25, 2020, 04:38:15 PM
One suggestion is to keep on guard for your real name and address.

I have been doxxed on badbuyer.org  my name phone number and address is revealed for false reasons as me being a Bad ebay buyer. They do not provide the item number for the sale or the account name of the bad buyer.  They just say it is me.

The website does not remove any entry only the poster of the entry can remove it.

So make sure your name address and phone number is secure.

My doxxing is a result of me giving escrow services. I caught multiple cons made reports etc.

I still get threading pm's on occasion.
14476  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Canaan A1066 Pro Review. (soon ) on: March 25, 2020, 03:29:42 PM
My Avalons all have been very good in a room under 35c temp  35 c = 95f

So if the room is under 35c it should be good.

when the rooms were warmer then that temp they did have issues.

When I get these I will test them in a room at about 90f or less.

My 2x 1041a   beta models  have worked non stop for quite  a while I don't remember but close to a year. edit  I Looked it up JULY 2019 so 8 good months runtime.

My 2x 1066  non pro  have worked non stop for 4 months they are in Clifton NJ In a warm room over 80f most of the time but under 95 f most of the time.

I kept the trolling posts below.  His info is wrong they do not have a long lead time and have gear in stock as  type.
At first he claims 1 bad unit.
He then claims 2 different bad models.

If someone is out to get or hurt canaan hiring trolls is but one idea.

It is obvious that all asic builders will have a tough time. My belief is  this person freddy2020 is lying about canaan to hurt sales.  Note the bold type.

I also kept hearing how reliable the Avalons etc. So I purchased one to test.

It is a bad miner all around. 6 months old, when the weather is hot and it starts heating up in the data center it keeps going down, waiting for a reset over and over again.

Suddenly it started behaving badly and lost 10-15 % hash rate on average, annoying enough to keep it running rather than send it for repairs.

I sent it off for repairs and onto a very cold hosting location.

Spring is in the air and the Avalon miner have started acting up again, unexplained shutdowns, etc.  I have some other associates with the same problems.

This company is a bit of a joke, they are releasing machines very late, they have a very long lead time and also a limited production. on top of that, they also have a higher price Smiley

Honestly, I don't understand what they are doing in the market, because they are seriously not competing with anyone that I know about.

If you buy a miner from this company, you better check in hourly that it is actually running or have a good hosting data center that monitors the machine 24/7, because it is like your toting a little baby Smiley

For me and my mining operations it is a big nono.

The 1066, sure will be interesting to see if there is a difference Smiley

so you tested one but in a later post you claim you tested both models

Interesting, what model did you get? Did you even talk to your distributor or Canaan about it?

I and many others have the exact opposite results. I *used* to run BM gear and up to the s4 they were great, come s5 on up lots of issues culminating with all 4 T9's and 15 S9's I had each losing multiple boards. Initially repair service from Bitmain and then through Denver-based BitmainWarrenty was decent but quickly went to hell in a hand basket.

Switched to Avalons starting with the A721 and have not looked back. Currently running just over 500TH of Avalons ranging from A841's to the A1047's and aside from losing 2 fans on my oldest and now retired 721's ZERO problems.

You will find that the few folks here who did report problems were taken care of quickly and in a professional manner either by the distributor or Canaan directly. The miners are modular and easy to troubleshoot, find the problem and Canaan will get replacement parts right out to you.

Both the last models,

As I mentioned i did send the machines on service.

Switched to Avalons and never looked back? even if their service is great what difference does it make? it doesn't change the facts on the table.
Any mining company will replace and repair things in a fast and good manner.

I understand that maybe I had a bad experience with some machines, similar to your bad experience with Bitmain.

Canaan is overpriced, has a long lead time, low stock and is not a competitive brand at the moment.

. I know this is not true. so i deleted your post.
14477  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Raffle for one (1) Antminer T17 40 TH/s Free USA Shipping on: March 25, 2020, 03:25:43 AM
I will generate an address once tickets 🎫 are ninety percent spoke for.

I will contact each one on the list.

lets say a five ticket order is. 44 usd. or 0.0075 btc

i will contact you. and ask for 0.007500??

that two digit dust will help me track payments.

from each person.  since as many as 100 different people may join it will be work to track everybody.

thus no address given now.
no payments now.

make your picks and be ready to pay 💰

lets pretend you win .

once gear is shipped to you I will send proceeds to stryfe.

i would expect we need to figure out what if winner says gear is broken. or damaged.

it is different then a normal escrow. I have to ponder 🤔 it.

Phil - you may hold the funds until they receive the miner and give it a thumbs up. I dont think anyone is going to try and lie and say it is broken or is not actually a T17. and thank you for helping Smiley

Good cause I want this to be fun for the seller and the players. and of course the lucky winner.
14478  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Looks like vaccines caused this partial world wide COVID-19 / Coronavirus mess on: March 25, 2020, 03:10:33 AM
Too bad there is no vaccine or cure for conspiratardism.

Word on the street here in the USA

Get off the street and stay home.

I used to think anti vaxers were morons.

But if the flu has two strains a or b. why doesn't two shots a year stop the flu?

Why do we need new flu shots over and over and over?

Now i get some shots. But I won’t get flu shots as year after year flu shots don’t do a good job.

I also know of a set of twins that were given a five vax shot that fried the boy’s brain 🧠 and made the girl really sick she needed a year to recover. The boy will have life long brain damage.

I do have a problem about the five vax shot.  which vax fucked the kids up.
1 or 2 or 3 or 4 or 5.

if they had five shots two weeks apart.  even if one of the five fucked them up just as bad we would have a stat that says shot 3 fucks way too many up.
