14461  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Greece's first Bitcoin ATM installed on: June 29, 2015, 02:58:25 PM
with their economy crisis i doubt greece's people will care too much about an atm for bitcoin, they have biggest problems to think about

it should've done before, when the country wasn't in this bad condition, but maybe if the price skyrocket some faith could be restored and they will begin to use it in mass
14462  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Volatile Bitcoin still isn't money on: June 29, 2015, 02:54:41 PM
snip

BTC: 3.5 billion USD
EUR: 11760 billion USD

BTCVOL: ~15%
EURVOL: ~5%

So how come this monetary mass 3360 times greater than BTC is only 3 times more stable?!

maybe because the more it fall the more hard is to have a good % in stability, the more you are big, the more tiny is the progress akin to a logarithmic scale(base ten), were going from 100 to 1M will only make it x3
14463  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you think bitcoin will reach it's $1000 mark again? on: June 29, 2015, 02:32:28 PM
It will DEFINITELY reach 1000$ mark, it will reach in the next 3-5 years though. Right now its around 1/4th of it but there are a lot of incidents about to happen which will definitely boost the adoption of the bitcoin currency.

3-5 years is pessimistic, we are rising quite well, around $2 per day(for the last couple of days), if we continue this trend we could reach it before the halving

rest assured that something big will happen before or aorund the halving, almost impossible that we will remain at this stage by then
14464  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Understanding how bitcoin works is IRRELEVANT on: June 29, 2015, 02:30:12 PM
Indeed, we don;t understand how electricity works to use it or computers, internet, phones etc.

not really a good comparison, knowing about electricity is useless because you don't use it you use computer, internet ecc, but you actually know how dthose thing work, and with bitcoin is the same, you should need to know at least the minimum

everyone should at least know how to secure their wallet, telling that this is irrelevant, is a blatant lie, and it tells us how you did not understand the decentralized nature of bitcoin, where you are the own in charge for your security and not someone else
14465  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC in your country on: June 29, 2015, 02:20:19 PM

it could explain why the awareness about bitcoin is rising, and why there are more people using it there, basically in non regualted place bitcoin is rising more because there is less oppression from the government

so the theory about the fact that people do not want to use bitcoin because of their government's restriction is true, they actually want to use it but are intimidated by their legislation

yes, that right. but we may conclude that the legal medium of exchange in indonesia should be only rupiah and people are allowed to buy, sell and own bitcoin as long as it not used as a medium of payment.

then this is another reason why bitcoin is seen as investment only and not as a currency, if they keep it like that and do not let it grow, in some country it might remain forever as an investments only

i'm interesting in knowing if they could actually stop those that will use it directly, in exchange for goods, locally in india
14466  Economy / Economics / Re: Bank of Bitcoin on: June 29, 2015, 02:16:46 PM
as a far as i know only in swizerland, they are starting a project regarding this

http://www.newsbtc.com/2015/05/28/first-ever-bitcoin-bank-to-be-opened-in-switzerland/

I have read the article from the link...and i think it seem that bulid a bitcoin bank such a something not interesting...though the opportunity is very big...imagine that if the bitcoin bank can operate like a conventional it can be operating globally because of the bitcoin factor

maybe we can think that it is not interesting for us, but i could see a good spot for those banks, to boost bitcoin adoption, because there are many people that feel unsecure when they hold their bitcoin

this is why you see many using online wallet or centralized wallet in general, they don't want to handle their security, in this sense those banks might help them and bring more trust and confidence to bitcoin than any other thing
14467  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Conservatives vs. Liberals in Bitcoin - Will we or will we not change? on: June 29, 2015, 02:13:49 PM
Upgrade… And I Show You How Deep The Rabbit Hole Goes.
Your thoughts.
As bitcoin gains popularity more people would be using the bitcoin for their daily transactions in their life, that time perhaps, the idea might also change to increase the mining above than the 21 Million bitcoins, or similar to this and also we would be requiring more and more cryptos in the near future, so up-gradation is imperative here.

this is the opposite of everything.
1) bitcoin is not for the masses' daily transaction. 2) changing the 21m cap is just losing everything.

are you saying that bitcoin should not embrace adoption? i don't believe that satoshi believed that bitcoin will remain onyl a niche market and nothing else

and also there is no correlation between surpassing the 21M and bitcoin not being for the masses, i mean bitcoin could stay at 21M(and it should) while gaining popularity and reach mainstream status

and do we really want another inflationary garbage system? i think not, unless changing the cap mean rising it by few millions and not making it unlimited like with doge...
14468  Economy / Economics / Re: Which country looses the most when Bitcoin becomes the Currency of Planet Earth on: June 29, 2015, 02:09:54 PM
U.S.A is country with many rich also

they aren't for sure among those that will lose more, at best they will lose those little taxes from who are not declaring bitcoin(i'm wondering how many are actually declaring taxes coming from bitcoin) which could be big if bitcoin reach mainstream, they were also the first to regulate bitcoin

russia also do not want to lose this opportunity and are regulating it, so i think russia is still on track to not lose much from bitcoin if it become big one day

14469  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 5 Chinese mining pools propose 8MB block size on: June 29, 2015, 02:06:07 PM
Gavincoin's idea of doubling every 2 years is not a good one.

if they cannot propose another better idea, then we need to accept that, i mean we can't wait forever until someone come up with an idea, now i'm starting to believe that this problem should have solved much early, with the fork of 2013

thus you don't need today to fork again and at that time, chinese were not controlling 60% of the network, and playing the dictator's game...
14470  Economy / Economics / Re: First Greece...who next? on: June 29, 2015, 02:03:34 PM
I expected other countries from south Europe like Spain, Portugal, Italy, Malta...Japan is imho different case and those graphs are not applicable for them like for EU countries..

This. That graph looks like it's lacking fundamental countries. Any of the south european countries is in danger to leave the euro, since they are all north's bitches. Japan doesn't owe anyone debt but their own citizens, they have that huge advantage.

i'm not sure because the graph show that they have ssome trouble, they are sitll far away from a disaster like greece, their line look stable in the last frame time, so their are approachign a recover, it might be that greece will be the only one leaving the eurozone

and do not forget that the crisis is a bit reduced now, all around the world, for example i know that in italy there is less unemployment now is 0.6% less than the last eyar, so there are small progress
14471  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or gold? on: June 29, 2015, 01:57:58 PM
Gold is more secure and more volatile.

Gold is more volatile than Bitcoin? I don't know from where did you got your information from. Gold has been one of the most stable forms of wealth during the last 10-15 years, compared to the Bitcoin, which has lost almost 80% of its value in the past 18 months. BTW... I'll agree that it is more secure.

their chart are alike, so it is not fair to compare all the history of gold to 6 year of bitcoin, chart is telling us that they basically share the same pattern, so the same volatility, but bitcoin potentially are bigger, for a series of advantage that everyone know already
14472  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Greetings and Salutations on: June 29, 2015, 01:54:36 PM
with that power you can actually hope to roi with a good investments on bitcoin mining, or altcoin if you prefer, but i would look to mine altcoin directly with soem antimerns s3 or s5

if you have the money you can start big and sell afterward(1-3 months after) while the diff remain the same, so the current miners generation will not be obsolete

alcoin mining is  abit different you need to follow it, if you jump in the gpu mining scene, otherwise you can point your gi to one of the most stable currency like dash/monero or scrypt king like litecoin/doge
14473  Economy / Economics / Re: A currency or investment? on: June 29, 2015, 01:50:34 PM
More like currency, as investment not yet  Cheesy

it's the opposite, otherwise people would have been used it more, and less market manipulation will occur, also the price should rise, in the event that they will really consider it as a currency

it is also true that bitcoin need investments in it for succeed at least for the time being, investments could be considered the launch pad for the currency aspect of bitcoin
14474  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Five Things the Media Gets Wrong About Bitcoin on: June 29, 2015, 01:49:37 PM
The media is just full of corporate shills, just ignore them. Bitcoin is bitcoin, there is nothing wrong about it, enjoy the community and lets work on it better Smiley

the problem is that naive people that know nothing about bitcoin, will not ignore this, this is another reason why how bitcoin work for the mass should be a relevant aspect and not irrelevant how an articles say, in another thread...

it is easy to disrupt people's mind, if they have no knowledges
14475  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin and Porn on: June 29, 2015, 01:47:29 PM
we are getting out from that already, perhaps still slowly, but we are on the right track, bitcoin is not massively represented for criminal as it was before

only its competitors, are doing the best to take out his worst side(criminal activity), but this is only fud

It's FUD, but it works.... If i talk to any of my friends, they all bought into the FUD, and truely believe BTC is only used to buy guns or drugs... Ofcourse i can show them the positive side, but not everybody has a friend that believes in BTC

well i can show them the same for fiat, so it does not make sense that they believe bitcoin is only for drug only, unless they are really stupid or something, everyone should've an open mind at least partially

otherwise they are just like those that think that also porn is a bad thing, and consider tabu anything that not looks benevolent
14476  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: paying no transaction fee on: June 29, 2015, 01:43:06 PM
Cmon be generous, a fkin 10.000 satoshi is dust guys, you can earn it back in about 5 minutes from faucets.

Be generous and donate to the miners, so always send with fee Smiley

There is absolutely no need to "donate" anything to the miners. If your tx is below a certain data size, you can also get it confirmed within a few blocks with just 0.00001BTC fee.

It might take a few blocks before your tx gets included, but it gets the job done. For small, less important payments, this is a great option.

not to mention that mining is high profitable for miners at the moment, some of those are paying less then 0.05 for electricity, and all their macine have already reached roi, basically is pure profit for them

no need to reward them with 10k fee satoshi, actually for shopping online you don't need a faster confirmation, because there is the shipping and all that stuff

so i simply wait more and that's it, but some sites, force you to send bitcoin fast, within one hour or two, it may be a problem with those
14477  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Trading btc on localbitcoins.com on: June 29, 2015, 01:39:40 PM
maybe it is worth it, but it require much time, more time than you need for something else that maybe is more remunerative, like signature

you should look at the maximum earning per hour, and i don't think that arbitrage is the best way tod o this
14478  Economy / Speculation / Re: If Greece leaves Euro - effect on BTC? on: June 29, 2015, 09:44:36 AM
nothing

nobody will look to bitcoin unless the dollar shows weakness

and even then they will look at euro, or some other fiat, i don't remember the strongest after euro, so bitcoin will not be their first choice unless the whole centralized economy collapse, and surely will not happen overnight will the Grexit

also if someone really think that a poor country like Greek with all the problems that they have about their economy, will start to buy bitcoin and to rise the price to permit that at random strangers or early adopters to dump it afterward, you are only fool yourself
14479  Economy / Speculation / Re: Condolences to the bitcoin die hards on: June 29, 2015, 09:40:18 AM
No Way!.........unless sha256 is compromised.
It's not a problem if sha256 is broken, and this was already said by Satoshi, so it's just a matter of changing algo.

not an easy task as you think, because what miners can do then? get rid of their whole 300 peta hash and start all over again...no way it would be one of the biggest waste of money...

it would mean the death of bitcoin as we know it now
