14501  Economy / Lending / Re: Looking for a 0.35 BTC loan with major collateral. Payback: 0.4 BTC on: May 09, 2016, 07:20:30 PM
Toto, PM ME I will help you...
I would advise you against filling this loan request, since his steam account (which is the majority of the collateral) can be recovered easily by him, simply by calling steam support or sending them an email, and the WAVES aren't worth that much compared to the 0.35BTC he is looking for. I would consider this very risky of a loan. (Sorry OP)

Yes, I would absolutely do that if I had the intention to scam, so in my defense, I have to say that I had / have no intention to do that.

My waves account was just sold to MinerJones where I gave him full access to the waves account including the email address associated to it as well. And I got my first trust.

And you're right. It is risky. That's why I said once again this is a hail mary pass for me. I think I'm at a total loss here and will give up on getting a loan. Unfortunately everyone's been burned once, and now twice shy.
We judge others by their actions.   We judge ourselves by our intentions.  It's a very high quality story you posted, much more detailed than the average sob story loan request.  Your collateral, as darkstar pointed out,  isn't good.  And your loan request is large.  Despite what you said, you ought to ask family or friends.  The people on this forum don't love you or your dog.  Your people probably do, so you ought to hit them up.
14502  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin, Price Rise, reaches 463$ on: May 09, 2016, 07:10:34 PM
Yes it can.  But it might not.  That's the only honest answer, because nobody knows if or when we're going to pass $500.  People think the halving is going to be the catalyst but I'm very skeptical.
14503  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you a Coiner, a BitBoy or a SatFlap ? on: May 09, 2016, 07:05:33 PM
Bitboy I guess--where did you come up with this, and can I get some of whatever you're smoking?
14504  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Appropriate prices for each rank? on: May 09, 2016, 06:54:24 PM
Check the auctions. That's where you're gonna find the true prices. And you see loads of heroes going for well under 0.4. Most sig campaigns ain't what they used to be. There are tons of new heroes arriving all the time. Legendary is the one that still has real value.
Yeah no kidding.  There was a proposal a while back to create a status higher than legendary,  and I kinda wish that would happen.

By the way:  Fuck account sales.  There's nothing good that comes of it.  It's either spam or scam.
14505  Economy / Speculation / Re: ZeroHedge bullish on Bitcoin: "Mother Of All Short Squeezes" Looms For Bitcoin. on: May 09, 2016, 05:09:41 PM
VC interests towards bitcoin the currency have been fading for years already, while interest towards using the blockchain technology for something practical has risen.
Bitcoin bagholders and general religious nutters try to make it look like the use of blockchain technology for other practical solutions, will also raise the value for bitcoin the currency. Well, that just doesn't make sense in my perspective.
Don't underestimate religious nutters,  my friend.  As long as people believe in bitcoin it'll have a future.  What the VCs throw their money at doesn't concern me.
14506  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: These winklevoss brothers and Gemini capital are terrible=anticrypto on: May 09, 2016, 05:06:15 PM
Yeah well, people think crypto is way overvalued and are shorting it.  That's what happens in free markets so you shouldn't be surprised and the twinklevii have little to do with it I'm sure.
14507  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Loan for trading? on: May 09, 2016, 05:00:37 PM
I've been looking for a place to start this - I'd like to generate some trust as escrow, and/or start buying/selling BTC in order to gain some trust around here!
You're not trusted at present sono one on their right mind is going to use you as an escrow.  Maybe when you're a hero member with green trust from trades and so forth.

Also, does no one here do any reading before asking about stuff like collateral?   It's all been discussed before and there are stickies in the lending section.
14508  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is your Alt moving with or against BTC? on: May 09, 2016, 04:53:38 PM
Bitcoin hasn't really been moving for the past few months, and the shitcoins seem to move at the whim of speculators.   Some have price swings of 1000% or more in a single day.  Bitcoin is nowhere near that.
14509  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Mark Karpeles still rotting in jail? on: May 09, 2016, 03:59:54 PM
Most likely he is still in the jail. I think he better stays there as many are still after an explanation from him, the moment he is out of the prison.
He's out.  Got out a long time ago.

Source?
Don't listen to him, he's talking out of his ass.  But someone must know if he's still locked up.  Did no one from this wonderful worldwide community send him commissary money?
14510  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New Alt Coin on: May 09, 2016, 03:28:06 AM
I get a strong whiff of shilling and sockpuppetry from this thread, don't know about anyone else.   OP, no one needs another shitcoin stinking up the pile of ones that are already rotting in their grave.  Just don't do it.
14511  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Proposal To Increase Bitcoin Supply Above 21 Million Coins. on: May 09, 2016, 03:22:58 AM
I think it would be suicide to increase it. Everyone bought into the idea of 21 millions coins and if that changes then its no longer "bitcoin". People will sell off and move to another coin. If there is ever a true need for more coins then we can add more decimal places and still keep the 21 million coins, but this would be years down the road from today.
Hear hear.  It would indeed be suicide.  I'm pretty ignorant and I didn't even know this could be done.
14512  Economy / Speculation / Re: What you do if bitcoin reach 5000 $? on: May 09, 2016, 02:43:07 AM
I will kill my self because i have just 0.32 btc  Cry
Yeah I wouldn't kill myself but I think I'd be crying myself to sleep for a few nights at least.
14513  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: The legality of sending money abroad using bitcoin - am I doing something wrong? on: May 09, 2016, 01:31:40 AM
OP take all this free advice with a huge shaker full of salt.  And you're probably always going to be doing something wrong.   The laws are set up to fuck you, plain and simple.
14514  Other / Off-topic / Re: I spent all my saving on bitcoin, now i am broke on: May 09, 2016, 01:28:21 AM
better hope that none of the users here live near your house and recognize the fountain. you basically just announced where you hid your private keys to everyone.
Even if OPs story is true, the chances of anyone on this forum recognizing that bird bath are slim.  If you had a talented doxxer, though...
14515  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Alts market if C. Wright moves coins from early blocks on: May 08, 2016, 11:04:20 PM
TBT really got banned??? How's that work with all the other trolling that goes on in this shitshow

At least he puts effort behind his posts
Well gleb gamow and SebastianJu both got temp banned too for similar reasons not too long ago.   At least the forum rules are being enforced somewhat fairly.
14516  Economy / Speculation / Re: 466.64 just reached on coinbase exchange on: May 08, 2016, 06:36:57 PM
OP is one of those little dogs that sits in the front yard all day and barks at anything that moves.  As I said before, I'm taking a nap until we hit $500.  Don't wake me up until then.
14517  Other / Meta / Re: (Sounds like) Ban Evasion to me... What do you think? on: May 08, 2016, 06:12:45 PM
What did tptb get banned for?  His posts are constructive,  if extremely numerous.   Kinda like gleb gamow and a few others.
14518  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin is not the currency of the people and likely never will be on: May 08, 2016, 03:50:21 PM
what is the source of this chart?

anyways the information can not be reliable when it comes to bitcoin. there is an anonymity with bitcoin and also the spread between bitcoin addresses that you can never make such conclusions and charts. nobody is keeping coins in one wallet so you can't find the real whales.

also, these top addresses are mostly mining pools, exchangers, services, .... that hold a lot of bitcoin because of the nature of their business.
That's the first thing I thought, too, but assuming it's true it's not bad for bitcoin.  There are 100 million satoshi in each whe bitcoin!  We need the price to rise 1000 fold and then it won't matter in the least if a single address has 10 million coins.
14519  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Xapo is a fraud on: May 08, 2016, 02:34:23 PM
I also have been using Xapo for a very long time.  I can confirm that they use new addresses after each transaction, that old adressess are still good, and that they don't charge a transaction fee.  I've never tried to withdraw anything under 0.001 BTC but I do know that that amount would be a reasonable minimum because Xapo pays all transaction fees.  It would be unreasonable for them to pay transaction fees for amounts less than that minimum.  Imagine the fees they'd pay for that same 0.001 BTC but broken down into 1 Million - 1 sat transactions.

What will happen if i widthraw less than the minimum? Because i used xapo to widthrew less than that amount which i had from the faucets that xapo is accepted.
I have taken out faucet amounts, nothing was charged to the transaction so it should be ok. But with these larger amounts that the thread is discussing is disturbing. But how can a company keep functioning if they don't have a service charge? There is no way any corporation can operate this way, maybe for a little while at the beginning. They are giving their services for free? No I don't think so. Somebody has too pay in the end.
I have too.  That guy is full of shit, just shitposting.  The minimum, the last I knew, was 5000 sat.  And I never had to pay a fee to witdraw funds.
14520  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin IS basically DESTROYED on: May 08, 2016, 02:14:55 PM
Why would they do anything detrimental to Bitcoin? It would hurt them more than anyone financially.
Why would anyone do anything to harm themselves?   It's totally irrational and yet it happens all the time,  so I can see bad stuff happening with China having too much say over bitcoin.
