To big to fall. 0.6$ is totally unrealistic.

So i think this will happen:
[...]

It was an interesting read. I like SF, always enjoyed it Smiley

However, even the imminent release of the GUI wallet doesn't seem to impress the market.
The news are full of "articles" about "XMR vulnerabilities", telling afterwards of allegedly lost funds on mymonero.com, of the mymonero.co fraud site and of oasis scam.

It's good days for seasoned traders and puzzling days for the res of us Smiley
14562  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: October 17, 2016, 01:37:35 PM
the coin is already pretty much down.

While I wish the coin would get to 100$ or more and while the coin has indeed fallen a lot from its ~15$ peak, I want to remind you it was even 0.6$ or so at some point.
Just to make sure your calculations are accurate and the "low" numbers are correct.

I was thinking about buying more XMR, but I am still undecided. Because there's still plenty of room to fall  Undecided

oh come now, you bears can do better than that...

sell it all and short it all

 Wink

I wish I could be as confident as you are!
14563  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Got 200$ from Freebitcoin today morning, call that a BIG WIN on: October 17, 2016, 12:39:57 PM
Well done OP! Nice to see such wins!
I am glad for another reason too. I've heard over time a lot of bad things about freebitcoin, even the thing that their "big win" cannot achieved at all. There was also a poll some years ago and nobody could say about such wins.
So you're one of the very few and it's nice from you to share this with us. I am sure that freebitcoin is also happy that it's you who won and shared this, instead of somebody who would not share this info.
14564  Economy / Economics / Re: Megaupload 2.0 & Bitcache - Anyone investing? on: October 17, 2016, 10:04:15 AM
https://bnktothefuture.com/pitches/megaupload-2-bitcache

You can invest here and help out! If they don't meet minimum req. the project will probably not happen!

From what I see:

MINIMUM INVESTMENT GOAL               €908,926
RAISED SO FAR                                  €678,895

I think that the minimum will be surely achieved.
And if the minimum is 1000$.. it's too much. "Never invest more than you afford to lose" (although I feel that the chances to lose are not too big).
14565  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Petition for sites to accept Bitcoin? on: October 17, 2016, 09:11:47 AM
I just made my first purchase directly with Bitcoin last week. It didn't went as smoothly as with card, but I think that both parts will learn and improve the system. It's a good start however and it's the way to go.
For me, at thuisbezorgd.nl, using bitcoin was much smoother than using a creditcard. The only thing that slowed it down was entering my PIN-code on my phone app.
The website showed the amount, and a QR-code. A quick scan with my phone, and it instantly said "paid" on the PC-screen.

PIN-code: 6 digits.
Creditcard: Name + 16 + 3 + mm/yy = 30-40 digits.

The problem was that the payment processor only gave a 10 minutes time frame for the Bitcoin transfer.
Silly me, I did the transfer from Poloniex (I wanted to withdraw anyway some from there). Just Polo was this time slower than usual, the coins were transferred after the time frame expired and then I had open a ticket, ask the payment processor check the payment, .. yeah.
Next time I'll use my own wallet and maybe they'll use wider time frame.
14566  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: WAVES. Ultimate crypto-tokens blockchain platform. on: October 17, 2016, 08:51:34 AM
Forget Polo, just look at Steem which was able to make a good price for itself only on bittrex (around 4$ I think).  Seeing the price increase of Steem, Polo has finally added  it.  Waves can do it too.

Steem was hugely pumped on bittrex, steam made 20X there, from 0.0003 to 0.007 ATH. But after listed on polo, the price doomed, from 0.007 max to current, 0.0003X. It is 5% of ATH. LOL. Polo is not the legendary exchange any more.

I am not sure that the fall was caused by listing at Poloniex.
Many people call Steem a scam. I would say that such accusation affect the price in a bad way, while big exchanges listing it help the price jump (even if in some cases it's just a short term pump).
14567  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: WAVES. Ultimate crypto-tokens blockchain platform. on: October 17, 2016, 08:40:44 AM
It's all about profit and ensuring its back.
The fact Polo can profit big time from Waves is clear.
When the nodes will be out they will know it's legit, it's profit and not scam, they'll add it or fall behind.
As simple as that.
14568  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Petition for sites to accept Bitcoin? on: October 17, 2016, 08:35:04 AM
In my opinion the best way for sites to accept Bitcoin is if their payment processor accepts it.

I just wanted to propose this, but you already did.
In Romania there's also a payment processor (netopia mobilpay) that accepts Bitcoin. And the only way to encourage this trend to rise is to use this payment method whenever possible.

14569  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: [Bounty] 2 BTC - corrupted wallet recovery! on: October 14, 2016, 01:39:25 PM
Since your bounty is quite consistent, I would assume that your wallet is pretty fat one, so I can assume that you will try all the possible options..

I've read that wallet.dat is a Berkeley DB file. Maybe get the Oracle Berkeley DB files and see if db_dump works or maybe try a db_recover on the wallet file and then try again with pywallet.py
I didn't want to install anything so downloaded the zip from Oracle and I compiled it myself. On my wallet the db_dump worked, just it obtained a lot of .. lines which have to be further decrypted (hence the pywallet is still your friend).

Again: you may need to do a db_recover.

Long time ago I've seen this thread and bookmarked it. Maybe it helps. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=22697.0
If you already started on the hex path, this shouldn't be hard to check if it's good for you or not.
Good luck!
14572  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Vitalik Buterin confirms another ETH hard fork on: October 14, 2016, 08:20:41 AM

This coin is a bad joke, really.
Forks and fixes are necessary. But wtf, if you plan a hardfork, make all the fixes you can and fork it in one step!
But yeah, let's stay in the news, that way ETH gets more awareness and silly people will buy.
14573  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How much is my account worth? on: October 13, 2016, 03:15:00 PM
I checked your statistics and it was calculated at 0.0088 BTC but it will be lesser because of the red trust and the post quality is somehow towards to poor quality.

most of your post are on digital goods and lending section.  You can try to sell this account but i doubt they will pay you 0.001 BTC for this.

You are far too optimistic.
With the red trust and quite a number of people calling it scammer, some with reference that looks valid (!) ... I doubt that anybody will bother to buy that.
Sorry OP...
14574  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BitcoinTalk App (Android/iOS) on: October 13, 2016, 02:01:54 PM
What we really need is a better "mobile" theme for the forum, one easier to read and use.
Most will not use an app.

Why would somebody give your app his user and password? Can you prove that you don't want to do something odd (from reading PM to selling) with the accounts (whether hard or unlikely would that be)?
I know, your idea is to put a few banners here and there to earn a little and you will not harm the account. But then.. people are fed up already with signature campaigns. What makes you think they'd like your app and its banners?
14575  Other / Off-topic / Re: Save you Bitcoin for your (grand) child / children? on: October 13, 2016, 10:25:30 AM
In my opinion Bitcoin is an asset.
I found interesting that people keep telling that Bitcoin has to circulate, but then they cry the tx fee is too big and their transaction didn't get through because they've tried 0-fee.

I managed to put 1BTC on a paper wallet. I'll get more. I hope that this will help some day with my sons scholarship, my retirement, or, why not? my sons' retirement.

This forum has became very popular. And the rising amount of spam comes with the popularity.
There are paid posters for various reasons everywhere. Some call it guerrilla marketing. That happens for products as well as for ideas, ideologies and politics.
It's known that Russia has its posters and I am sure that others have its own.
Now the elections in US are near and make the things even worse.

But it's only spam. Filter it out and move on, not much else to do.

Every single pool is down...

I don't see any problems ??!

I've got - about 1-2h ago - only "stratum_recv_line timed out", on both: stratum+tcp://xzc.suprnova.cc:5595 and stratum+tcp://xzc-low.suprnova.cc:5595
I mined since then a little XMR and now tried again. Now it works.
14579  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Zcoin - The Zerocoin cryptocurrency, guaranteeing financial privacy on: October 13, 2016, 08:00:28 AM
in other words it will be dumped soon, it's not a solid rise im view, usual pump and dump because of initial hype...

It may be dumped or it may not. I don't hold a crystal ball.
Everybody has to decide for himself. But some extra caution would not hurt and that's what I was calling for.
It may be an interesting project and that's why I also keep an eye on it.
14580  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Zcoin - The Zerocoin cryptocurrency, guaranteeing financial privacy on: October 13, 2016, 07:53:18 AM
0.00400000BTC and rising.
Heading to 0.01

The diff is rising a lot, a grow in the price should have its meaning.
However, while all pools are down, something strange is going on. And with the volumes so low, I expect huge manipulation on the market.
Trade carefully people.
