1461  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you expect a crash soon ? Or you see bitcoin keep climbing ? on: October 11, 2017, 06:55:27 PM
It seems that btc made some attempts on 5000$ in last week or so.
I am expecting a small dip in time of next fork but since everyone remembers the last fork,
traders are no afraid of this one and  I am fairly confident  that we will see a test of 6000$ in a month.
1462  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Where do you find interesting ICO ? on: October 11, 2017, 02:10:10 PM
I find that bitcointalk altcoin forum sometimes could be too much because of all the bad projects messing up the air, takes a lot of time to see something interesting.
Recently i started using other sites like foxico.io, i read about the highest ranked projects and then go to bitcointalk thread. Interestingly often good projects have very little support on bitcointalk. I think that they are overlooked in the sea pf projects.
1463  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ANN [HLTH] SimplyVital Health - Powering True Care on: October 11, 2017, 12:32:50 PM
projects with the concept of health care is always an interesting thing to follow, because most projects with the same concept, always have the potential to succeed and very profitable in a fast time, I'm interested to join the next promotion program, such as bounty, if any
hopefully going well

Why do you think that health care projects are profitable in short term ( iif you ment fast- short term)?
I think the complete opposite since it is very hard to implement something completely new in government systems . i think that it could be very profitable in long term if the project is good enough.
1464  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] PreICO ALLOY - Global Rewards Catalog for Virtual Currencies,Reward points on: October 11, 2017, 11:04:46 AM
On first sight it seems a good idea!

But I think there is a big problem.
The brands shop and vendors do make their offers in such way that they have restrictions. These restrictions at least partly are made to make customers buy more merchandise in order to use reward points thus i dont believe that big companies will be interested on participating. Because 360bn which are not redeemed is money which is not lost by companies.

Also PayPal backing caught my eye. This is a red flag for me in block chain community. Although I think there should be block-chain payment platform with buyer/seller protection. PayPal is something that have made my life very difficult because of their 0 tolerance policy regarding various matters and I hope block-chain will make a big dent in PayPal business some day.

Hi

There are three sources you gain points, one is Brands, Banks & Credit cards & Apps/Websites the system address all the above. Banks & credit card comapnies spend a lot of money in maintaining and running a catalog for redemptions to make their customers happy and this becomes an ease of access for the. APPs and game give you virtual tokens and even they are exploring real world rewards to make the users engaged more, but sine it is not their core business to run a eco-system for redemption, ALLOY is an interesting space for them to partner.  Larger companies have known to participate in Coalition program (Airmiles - Canada, OK Cashbag - Korea, Nectar - UK, Plenti - USA), the main reason for it is when the reward points are issued it is an liability on their books and it need to taken off from onetime customers (This forms 75% of the total reward points issued) and Coalition has a upto 80% market penetration in all the geographies mentioned above and the reason for that is points flow and don't stay idle resulting in win-win driving business and satisfaction. The idea for any reward program is to make the users see value either within the store or external so the customer keeps coming back.

PayPal has incubated our startup since 2016 when we were offering Loyalty, CRM, gamification, Referral, systems for retail vendors, they also have plan for reward programs for their merchants but the distributed nature of their 17mn merchants makes it impossible to run a large scalehandshake, here is where they found the platform pretty interesting to explore only on the reward point redemption and listing of their Merchants on the platform for visibility .

Best,
Vijay
Team ALLOY

I have to say that you have some good arguments and  right now I am becoming interested and will have to read more about your project.
Always good to have constructive discussion.

Thank for your extensive  reply.
1465  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] 💠 FORTY SEVEN BANK 💠 – Connecting Financial Worlds on: October 11, 2017, 10:54:18 AM
This is very serious project and even with good team i am sceptical right now since there are only few successful projects which are working with credit/debit cards for cryptos - which itself is a big job not to mention all the other new innovative things you are promising.

You did mention in this discussion that you are going to apply for licensee in UK?
What about UK leaving EU in coming years, is this smart move for applying there?
Regarding your worries about the UK leaving the EU, please note I personally think UK will stay in the SEPA, which would mean no differences for Forty Seven Bank.

So you are saying that only potential problem for UK bank ( in case of brexit) could be SEPA availability ?
1466  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Centra Tech ICO | Multi-Blockchain Worldwide Debit Card & Insured Wallet on: October 11, 2017, 10:49:23 AM

I am assuming it will not affect Centra in any way and it is about 3rd party like wavecrest. Centra is not using a third party instead using a bank to issue the cards.
If Centra were to be affected it would have been when VISA was restricted. Anyway, please do wait for official statement from Centra on this.

From official chat :

Our card is a Co Branded Debit Card from our issuing Bank Partner. We are not directly contracted with Visa or Mastercard.

I do not think that it matters that you dont have direct contract with VISA since the article  https://news.bitcoin.com/bitcoin-debit-cards-non-european-residents-visas-new-rules/ mentions that the partner bank is being pushed. As far as i know only banks and big financial institutions has contracts with VISA and MASTERCARDS and these has to force the VISA regulations to customers otherwise they are fined .
This makes me think since VISA is such big player , it can make some serious problems for crypto  world if they want to. I certainly hope that it will not be the case!

Does someone knows why European customers are left alone? because of the stricter EU regulations ?
1467  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] CLIMATECOIN CO2 TOKEN ICO - OP UPDATED on: October 11, 2017, 10:35:38 AM
How does sucking CO2 out of the air help with climate change ?  It looks good but I don't understand it. I'm sure I'm not the only one.

CO2 is a green house gas that causes global warming.  Removing CO2 from the atmosphere would disrupt that process.

I would have added. How can this coin affect climate change? It seems to me that developers still care about climate change. The main thing is to come up with a name that is more beautiful, give some social significance and receive money. However, there are a lot of such projects on the forum.

As to how a coin can disrupt climate change, that is straight forward.

Step 1: people invest into the "fund" being created by this ICO.
Step 2: the "fund" makes acquisitions of companies who are creating climate disrupting tech.
Step 3: take the profits from the companies.
Step 4: distribute 75% to the fund and 25% to the token holders.
Step 5: profit for the investor and growth for the fund.

First of all . I am very aware of climate change and mechanisms involved.

At first glance i did not understand how Blochain could help and after reading about this project, still do no understand because its seems like hedge fund with focus on climate change companies. Thats it. To be honest it is a bit sad to use ClimateChange for business in this way.

i don't see the issues here, effectively greenEnergy token will have been more accurate with the purpose but the subject at the end is about climate change. Crypto is bussiness that you like it or not and creating an hedge fund that will help the energy transition is good.

The problem is that if you are taking someones money and promising them returns that means you are profit driven thus you need to invest in projects that will potentially generate profit which not always will be the same as good alternate energy projects and the problem with hedge funds are that they tend to be become scams and lose money thus peoples trust could be low ( I am not telling that you that this project is becoming one of those).
1468  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why does China hate Bitcoin? on: October 11, 2017, 12:26:15 AM
Thats an overstatement that they hate btc.
Interestingly enough noone here has mentioned  that China bans BTC and other cryptocurrencies because of one simple reason - they care about their economy!

How does this correlate? By buying crypto currencies they stop their citizens of selling their own currency which obviously is bad for their economy!
On other hand I think that they are smart enough to realise that they cant stop innovation and internet and will try to regulate and tax the btc and others.
1469  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin is a good investment now, because... on: October 10, 2017, 11:39:14 PM

It has high returns compared to stock markets.
But it would be very unwise to think that BTC does not have a bubble waiting to burst. Off course there is some base level which will not sell in case of  burst but in the last months there is more and more media attention on BTC since the price is so high. This attention turns more and more short term investors to BTC which is  good for price but they in most cases are not true believers in technology thus making the bubble bigger. I for one believe we will see 6000$ this year.
1470  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Amazon Will Accept Bitcoin Speculation on: October 10, 2017, 11:12:59 PM
It doesn't seem like fake news because there are no solid promises from amazon, just a normal discussion.
The acceptance of Bitcoin on Amazon would be something huge, it would shake the world economy and skyrocket the price of BTC, Thus it is very unlikely that we will see that happening in the near future. I think it will be years until we see that happen, there is too much unknowns now.
1471  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which cryptocurrency is the fastest? on: October 10, 2017, 11:04:11 PM
BitCoin is still not accelerating despite the software update, the team will try to speed up the bitcoin transfers in November. The ethereum and dash  looks very fast now

A month ago i would have agreed with you, that BTC is so slow, i could not take it. I waited  about 12h to get the transactions done but few days transaction went trough in matter of minutes. I was amazed. I have to note that transaction fee is quite large all the same.

It seems that SegWit has been implemented in large scale. I would love to see somekind of statistics of SegWit implementation , has it been implemented everywhere?
1472  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XRP] Ripple Speculation on: October 10, 2017, 10:53:51 PM
Best word for ripple prices in last days- roller-coaster.

Cant figure out whats going to happen when conference comes.

If we analyse the start of upward trend i think it was because of the conference anticipation, right now its seems like a pure very short term speculation although the trend is upwards. I guess , one just should wait and see what news there will be in coming days.

1474  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO]Sept 26 - Afterschool 2 sided marketplace - already generating revenue on: October 10, 2017, 10:29:50 PM
This is something very unusual for ICO at least as far as I have seen.
It seems to me that there is no innovation regarding block-chain use here, but it is used simply to rise funds for company which already exists and is promising.

Which is very positive, its very similar how private companies go public in stock market only in this case they are using blockchain and its a lot cheaper and easier.
1475  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ANN [HLTH] SimplyVital Health - Powering True Care on: October 10, 2017, 10:17:22 PM
This industry has a huge potential since this is serious problem - how to resolve electronic patients information transactions securely .

I can see how block chain could be implemented relatively  easily on small information scale solutions as prescriptions doctor- patient- pharmacy

Although I red about your project on your site and i do not understand, how are you hoping to achieve the secure storage of patients medical history?
Since it could hold a lot of data, i assume it cant be implemented in block-chain itself.  Correct me if i am wrong.

I will be holding this coin, till the time the release something good.
project is good backed with nice team

You are right. We must hold our tokens till cards will be released.
Monaco dont have Visa lisence. TenX working only in Europe.
So, Centra will be the best card project I think  Smiley

You are talking about Visa licenses and which projects does or does not have.
Does Centra has Visa license? I haven't heard of that yet.
thanks.
1478  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: To Buy BCH or not to Buy BCH? on: October 10, 2017, 08:17:14 PM
BCH has been one of the coins that are on top of the list although its future is uncertain since it has been going down lately. Despite the fact that bitcoincash has a lot of potential, i guess it is best to just observe its movement for the. Next months and we'll see if it is worth an investment.
i will prefer investing in it right now because i think it has a huge potential and it will be back to its previous price soon and then we will be good enough to have almost double profit. the price of bcc depend upon mostly on bitcoin and we seen it has a great future a head that's why bcc is also really cool to invest right now.

Since you say it has potential ,do you have any solid argument why NOT TO SELL BCH now? What advantages it has?

I am seriously thinking to sell the remains of my investment and buy something else. This have been the worst and only bad investment so far for me.

1480  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: [Bounty][Ended] Centra - Multi-Blockchain Worldwide Debit Card & Insured Wallet on: October 10, 2017, 07:51:19 PM
Are you watching centra on coinmarket ? Its decreasing.. Do you have any informaton why ?

I think it is not uncommon to see decrease in token value in the starting phase of project after they have been listed on exchange.

Also my concern that this could be due the approaching distribution of bounty since that means that some part of tokens will be sold soon to collect the bounty. But that is only speculation , the drop could be because of other reasons.

Does anyone knows the plan of distribution ?
plan as in what is the structure if pay outs? Everyone will receive their part all at once?
