1461  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Signs of a better year for btc investors on: January 12, 2023, 01:46:26 AM
Showing signs? I doubt. It is more part of its volatile nature. Sign I guess which could be considered is either its market price cross $20k or $14k; this will determine the direction for this year. But indeed, the year has just started and there are many things which may happen in this industry. But as to how I view the market situation at this moment, it will remain stagnant at the current market price bracket for months I think , as long as there's nothing to uprise the hope of investors perhaps new projects or positive news about Bitcoin adoption for major countries. Up until then, the price will more likely play around $15k to $17k so for now, holding and being patient would make us all prepared.

And just like that, bitcoin price has steadily climb just above $18k now, so we have broken one barrier at $17k and it seems that we are going to try for the $19k-$20k range just for this month.

Yeah, we may call this sort of mini bull run at the start of the year. Maybe there is some good news around that push the price today or just the investors decided to pump it in the last 24 hours. We will see how far it can go for January at least.
1462  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin What is the probability of 60 K+ again? on: January 12, 2023, 01:08:08 AM
I am not pessimistic, but I still want the market to fall more this year simply because I am a long term investor I want to accumulate more bitcoins before it goes up again Once bitcoin goes up, the accumulation will become difficult, and the profit will be less. So, the expectation that 2023 will be a bearish year is not pessimistic but sometimes they want to invest more while bitcoin is cheap.
Regardless of what your wishes are at this point, what is clear is that Bitcoin does not follow the wishes of just one investor. But every day there is more buying demand in the market for Bitcoin, the increase in price will be very real even if it is not what you or some other people want to buy Bitcoin at a lower price than now. And for now I'm also not pessimistic about the price increase that will happen again in Bitcoin again.

And just like in the last 24 hours, last 1 hour, the price is going up above $18k and this could be a start of a nice bull run at the start of the year. Obviously it won't be as big as $60k as the OP suggested. But the probability could be there in the next bull run.

So let's wait and see how everything is going this month.

The primary target for me at least is $20k, that round number, that big psychological price and support.
1463  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 12, 2023, 12:08:15 AM
There is a rumor that Lakers want to bring DeMarcus Cousins back. He is expected to work out for the Lakers soon as the report says. Idk if Cousins is the right guy they are looking for that can help the Lakers get a spot in the playoffs and battle their way. Just like AD, he is injury prone. The last time I saw him playing well is with Warriors. Russ is doing fine in their last 4 games but not enough. If only Russ and Schroder are consistent, that way they have a better chance of getting into playoffs.

The Lakers have Thomas Bryant, who has been playing pretty well lately, and I think he partially replaces Davis. So I'm not sure Cousins is needed by the Lakers, given that he's unlikely to be useful to the team due to his injury-prone nature. By the way, Cousins only averaged 9 points and 5.6 rebounds per game last season. To be honest, I feel sorry for him as he's only 32 years old, and he could have been in his prime, but that injury destroyed his career.

Yes, Thomas Bryant i doing good filling the void that Davis has left for the meantime and he is instrumental for bringing the Lakers to their winning streak and if I'm memory serves me right, he has game wherein he scored almost 30 points.

So no need to bring a experience player like Cousins, who also had some problems with this attitude and technical fouls.

And they don't need such kind of players right now, they have settled down a bit, they just need to bring Davis back again in the rotation and Thomas Bryant a good back up for now.
1464  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 11, 2023, 06:49:53 AM
0/1 for my early bet. Portland Trail Blazers cannot get that lead that they want in the 4th quarter. They got near but the Orlando Magic preserved it as much as possible. 106-109.
My live bets lost too.
Golden State Warriors ML opened @2.00. They tried to make a run in the 4th quarter cutting the lead to single digits but they ran out of time. Good to see their starters back though and creating rhythm before they go to the road.
Waiting for my 1 win if the Clippers can protect their lead until the buzzer sounds against Mavs. It's not that I doubt them but it's Luka Doncic making magic even if he lacks time.

Clippers won the game already mate, congrats.

0 win for me here, I bet on the Portland and Hornets on the + side against the Raptors. Two close game, but in the end, Portland losses this one while the Hornets can't hold or maintain the lead of Raptors to 10 points or less.

Most likely I'm going back for tomorrow and see how it goes.
1465  Economy / Economics / Re: My investments ahead of the 2024 halving 100% Bitcoin on: January 11, 2023, 01:58:12 AM
Yeah, looks good to me, on the contrary, there could be investors who is just pure hands down on bitcoin and be 100% of it's portfolio. 10x is possible in the next bull run, who knows.

We all know that altcoin is very volatile, and unless you get them very cheap and the project looks solid, then maybe you will have a good chance to make more money. But why not take that risk when you can slowly buy cheap bitcoin and then hold and see how X amount of returns in the next halving that can go till 2025 peak price.
1466  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can we really make a living in sports betting? on: January 11, 2023, 01:02:30 AM
I heard lots of stories online that there are people who are making a living in sports betting, and honestly it really inspires me that's why I'm still gambling now. So I'm just curious, do we have members of the forum here that are making a living in sports betting? Can they share some inputs on how to be successful like them?

I hope they will share so we will know if it's really possible. I mean, as the saying goes, casinos always win because they have the advantage, so how come people are making a living in sports betting?

I am a sports gambler but not a real serious one.  I have heard this question being proposed to professional sports gamblers however, and I can say it's certainly not something for most people to try and obtain a living from.  The guy who went on a really long run on Jeopardy recently who was from Illinois is a professional sports gambler.  I remember him saying it's extremely stressful and there's many times where he loses crazy amounts of money.

I think those whom are highly intelligent and highly proficient in math/charts things of that nature are the ones who could make this a possibility.

I think that is the keyword, others might be very serious in their gambling that it turns out to be their main source of income. Of course the odds are not in our favor, but there could be some who's willing to go that line and make a living and even profiting huge in sports betting.

Seen a lot of bets on hundreds and even thousands of dollars in some casino's that I played and I think this guy maybe is that one person who makes more money than having a regular job.
1467  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bottom of the Bear Market...let's accumulate!! on: January 10, 2023, 04:03:43 PM
Who is accumulating and how much are you hoping to add to your stash this year?

Wow, you have a deep pocket I must say, I wanted to stash 1 BTC but I doubt that I can get it before the eventual bull run. I'm also doing DCA, but still depend on my capital that week or that month. But I'm still doing it slowly, as much as I can, or shall we can, invest what you can afford to lose. So for me probably a good .25-.3 BTC might be a good start for me this 2023 and up until the halving and maybe I will continue till 2025 and see how far can I go and hopefully was able to get that goal or even higher.
1468  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 10, 2023, 03:41:13 AM
Durant misses at least two weeks, that would be a huge loss to BKN. They rather choose losing to Miami than losing Durant. Just when he broke another record and went up one more place in all time top scorers list, he could've gone one more place next game. I hope he'll return healthy soon.
Kyrie is playing great lately so I don't expect many losses from Brooklyn in this period. Sure Kyrie will use the ball more and Simmons should take more responsibility. T.J. Warren and Watanabe will get more playing time. Coach Vaughn will find a way to win games, Nets have a good squad. I don't think they'll go down just like Suns.

Injuries really spoil the good rally of a team. That was unfortunate to happen now that the team is getting a good winning streak and this is the first time, that their drama stars are working together as a team with no issues or drama or what.

Good thing though that it happened this elimination and not in playoffs.

In the meantime, expect that Irving will do his job in covering what Durant will miss.

The good thing is Durant will be back in less time compared to the expected one month of being sidelined according to the report. The only thing that is left is for them to make up for the 30pts that Durant makes every game. When Durant was out last season, they had an 11-losing streak. Hope they find their rhythm without Durant this time since they are doing very fine this season. It means they have put down the drama.

Last year was very different though, I think there is more drama, we have noises in the background like Ben Simmons, which I think has settled down nicely with the Nets. So we are not surprised for them to have a 11 game losing streak that time.

But this season is very different, they seems to gel very good even if there is still some distraction specially Kyrie.

So I don't see them having a losing streak that long even if Durant is going to be absent.
1469  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are there truly crypto whales and what are your takes on them? on: January 08, 2023, 03:05:40 AM
I came across a topic asking if people can really change their name to Bitcoin for 200btc here
and my answer was yes speaking for myself.
That very topic reminded me of an issue my brother had as he was scammed of $2000 worth of BTC but we had to track the transaction using the transaction ID on Blockchain and when tracked, we finally found the coin in a wallet containing over $600m(36754.6) worth of Bitcoin after several transactional movement.

My questions
~Are there private individuals who own and posses such amount of Bitcoin?

Owners maybe of crypto exchanges, or gambling sites.

~Why will one posses such amount as an Individual?

Not sure what you mean by this,

You can see the Top 100 richest bitcoin addresses.

~Are there any consequences to this?

We don't have names associated to bitcoin addresses, except a few again, including exchanges. So there is no consequences, the only thing is that since it is in a public ledger, anyone can track the movement, dates when it was move, where it move, fees associated with it.
1470  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SM Megamall is now ride on NFT's and Bitcoin on: January 07, 2023, 03:55:12 AM
It seems even malls are taking advantage of crypto craze, it is a good site to see that bigger store is taking notice of NFTs and cryptocurrency, it is quite surprising because Banco de Oro is somehow hostile on cryptocurrency but SM Megamall rides NFT and Bitcoin popularity.  If I am not mistaken Banco de Oro  is an SM Investment.

They are or the leaders behind SM now is young and that's why they are into crypto and NFT's and what is the latest craze in the NFT. And for sure they want to be the prime mover in the Philippines, after all they are one of the biggest companies in the Philippines and their malls are also in the top 10 as far as the biggest in the world.

BDO though is very different, I mean what do you expect from one of the leading banks in the Philippines?
1471  Economy / Speculation / Re: How we know btc not going to 100$ ?? on: January 07, 2023, 02:36:27 AM
Close to impossible indeed because if we do make out some comparison into those early years where only a few do known heard of about Bitcoin then its price is still hitting those numbers
but now that its widely spread and been known then it wouldnt really be that surprising that the value do rose up that high. Its impossible that it would really be going back into those
level but we know that everything could really happen but it would be basing up if theres something huge wrong  thing happen into it but for now on the current
condition where it do seems that it is really that holding strong on this point which is too far off on the price where op is trying to tell us out.
I think that is only possible once binance follows the footsteps of FTX because there are also a lot of people who are telling the same thing that when binance collapse, a big disaster is then going to happen in the crypto market. We know that binance is like the foundation of cryptos due to how large this exchange was.

They already have done a big contribution into this market but lately they are still being attacked. Well in anywhere that we go there will always be people who are like that. For now all that we must do is to calm down. Binance is trying to clear their names and then the condition of BTC is getting stable now. Let's hope we can stay like this for a long time.

Binance has a huge influence on the market, binance currently accounts for 75% of the trades in the market, which is a huge number, and I fear their monopoly will affect the market if they collapse. But I don't believe it can take bitcoin to $100, if bitcoin falls below that, then crypto market will be over.

While anything is possible, I don't believe bitcoin can drop to $100 in the future. For me, the only possibility for that to happen is that the government can control bitcoin, and that is also almost impossible.

It will be catastrophic if Binance will collapse, could be similar to Mt. Gox. But even if the collapse of Mt. Gox, it didn't deter bitcoin market that time and those who think that it will go to zero might be regretting their calls to sell because we have seen the the price really make tremendous gains from the unfaithful event and up to know the case is not yet close.

So I don't see it happening as well even if Binance goes down, it's to big to fall and someone will have to take their chances to reinvest if the prices goes down hard again this year and wait for the bull run in 2024. So maybe from $100, we are looking at $100k next.
1472  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 07, 2023, 02:07:00 AM
I would like to see teams implement a couple new rules such as must play x amount of games or lose a certain % of your contract for the year.

Same thing with sitting out games. On ly allow so many before they start being penalized.

I believe this might make players focus more on their bodies and conditioning.

But I believe teams will not push that for players that are considered and established to be at a superstar level already.

Instead of giving these types of players a condition, they will just use the usual load management system.

The NBA themselves should rather implement that rules instead as teams will do everything to take care of their superstars.

Yes, I doubt that teams will going to implement this to their superstars, they will have to protect them at all cost, after all they invested on this stars with huge contracts already.

There could be a lot of incentives to be included for a new contract, like Zion's maintaining his body to a certain weight so that he can play more or teams going to the playoffs or finals will get more money.
1473  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you guys bet on sports or casinos more? on: January 06, 2023, 04:36:55 AM
Seeing the results, it's obvious that we prefer sorts betting, or we can put it this way, there are more sports fans here (regardless if they are betting or not). Maybe casino's are entertaining and fun to some of us, but I guess there is no thrill compare to watching our favorite team betting on them and then winning huge money as well for supporting them. And sports game are throughout the calendar year, even if the WC has just concluded, there are still football league around the world that we can bet and other sports too.
1474  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: problem with my ETH balance ! on: January 06, 2023, 04:10:17 AM
If the ETH was moved without your prior knowledge then it's already a compromised wallet already. If I'm in your case, I will created a new wallet and will not used that as hit was hack already. The hackers have this bot installed and monitor your wallet that once you deposit ETH it will automatically withdraw from your wallet and obviously you can't beat a bot.
1475  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 06, 2023, 02:49:12 AM

So we are in a different era right now that as Luka said, it's easy to score in the NBA. And we can add to the sports medicine and trainings too has progressed in the last 20 years. A lot has really contributed why we are now seeing players scoring 40 points and higher per night.

Let's just appreciate how they play right now and so far, this is the most surprising season we had in the last 10 years because of how the star players in the teams turning their games into something historical play. With them being consistent in making their shots to score more than 50 points, they are about to surpass some great records this season and they are a few more points to be in the second but Kobe's still the best one after Wilt's 100. Do you guys think Victor Wembanyama can be the next Wilt Chamberlain? let's see if he gonna score more points in his first-season debut in the NBA.
As for Victor Wembanyama, I cant say if he will be the next Wilt Chamberlain or will be the biggest bust. There are players that are great in the amateurs but failed miserably in the NBA. I think if he has to surpassed records, it should be Luka, because he has been breaking Lebron James record in the first five years if I'm not mistaken.

To early to tell about that and comparing him to a legend doesn't give  any justification so maybe lets see if he can provide the same performance what he show on lower leagues since competition there and in NBA are so different.

Luka have huge potential to break records over records and he's so young so for sure to many excellent improvements will come to his career.

I believed that Luka can surpassed many of Lebron records at a young age, but we all know that the true gauge for greatness if how many rings you can have in your hand and so far, LUka has a long way to go to get even one at this point.

And speaking of him, they are being massacred by the Boston Celtics in their homecourt and probably gonna take the L tonight.

No Luka magic for us.
1476  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Experience with Bitcoin this Year, 5 days and beyond on: January 06, 2023, 12:35:31 AM
It's a good start for this year, but still early, there are a lot of positive news around but when the sentiment of market is negative, this news would not put a dent on the price itself.

But we shouldn't be deterred though, it's part of the market cycle and we should be optimistic and look at the long term effect on us by bitcoin itself. We might have to grind another year of bear market but for sure, after all of this the market will bounce back.
1477  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to identify next bitcoin or FANG on: January 05, 2023, 03:56:36 AM
I was first heard of bitcoin in 2018 when I was earning some small money from PTC sites and I seen a option of withdraw through bitcoin and i thought what is this bitcoin and not studied about bitcoin I  thought it is also a payment system of other country I missed it at that time when btc was so cheap , I today regret it not researching abut it ,
my question is i missed bitcoin and many people missed FANG and more big earning opportunities.
how anyone can identify it is a revolutionary idea at it's initial stage .
today also some people with big unique idea trying to make a revolutionary product at any corner of world how we can find these peoples
they also discuss about idea and working together like satoshi

Not sure about it because it's very hard to strike and saw what will something be in the future, (we don't have the crystal ball).

I guess some of us have this luck on our side, those who invest bitcoin early and see it's true potential. I guess it we have that and a vision that maybe some projects can be disruptive like Bitcoin or any other like the FANGS, then take your chances. And if you ever invest early then give at least 2 years or more to see the this project move in a positive direction or not.
1478  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The mistake I made some years ago on: January 05, 2023, 03:16:37 AM
I guess majority of us here, at one point in time, have been scam with this kind of pyramiding scheme that you have been introduced. And I think this is the stigma that left a bad test for bitcoin, and that it became synonymous to scams like pyramiding. I myself was a victim of bitcoin doubler, and just like you thinks that I can double my money and have a downline. But in less than a month, the website closed and the rest is history. Don't regret it though and charge this to experience, move up and accumulate bitcoin because this is the perfect time - bear market.
1479  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gervonta Davis vs Ryan Garcia on: January 05, 2023, 02:50:29 AM
Ryan Garcia taking aim at Tank and says that he will finished him in 2 rounds, hehehe

Quote
“Prediction for the fight – I say I'll beat him in about two rounds,” Garcia told The Joe Pomp Show.

https://www.boxingscene.com/ryan-garcia-predicts-hell-ko-tank-2-rounds-hes-never-faced-adversity-risk-ring--171581

Ryan already hyping himself in this fight, saying that he will finished him in 2 rounds. I doubt though, Davis is known to be very cautious in the early rounds of his fight, just trying to figure out his opponents before making any adjustments. Specially if his opponent is someone of a knock out artist, just like in the Romero fight wherein he started very slow and trying not to get caught with big punch early. And we wanted the fight a bit longer, so that they will bring the best out of this two boxers.

i have the feeling that the opposite of the situation has high probability of happening. if garcia has not backed out from his tune-up fight, he should have known his caliber before davis' fight. it seems that he is indeed hyping up. don't know if he can really handle davis within 2 rounds.
so long they will give a very good fight without running around, i guess they will give a good entertainment to their boxing fans.

Its not smart of him though claiming that he can just steamroll Tank Davis. On the contrary, we will know that he will be the underdog in this fight. So for me, no need for Ryan to claim this and that, he should focus on this fight and should stay away from the media as it might backfire on him bigtime if he losses this fight. Round 2 is too early, that's what he said against Tagoe in their last fight and he didn't accomplished any.
