1461  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why did Satoshi Quit? on: April 26, 2021, 09:38:26 AM
today CHINA-CCP controls +67% of mining ( block-chain/tranaction-approval), and produces 99% of ALL BTC ASIC HW on earth. China-CCP can re-deploy BTC anytime they wish, even if they haven't already.

I see, so you're one of those mentally challenged individuals who perceive an entire nation of people as some sort of collective hive-mind with no free will of their own.  Most rational people would see a vast assortment of individuals who happen to reside within a set of arbitrary borders, each with their own thoughts, opinions and goals.  But no, you think China is effectively 'the Borg' from Star Trek.  "Resistance is futile", right?

Apparently, around 1,400,000,000 people located in this one region are all just mindless drones and do whatever their Hive Queen instructs them to.  Thank you for pointing it out to us.  I'm shocked no one had noticed until now.  Unless, of course, that's not remotely true and you're just a fucking imbecile.  I wonder which is more likely?   Roll Eyes

We don't care if you're a bit of a racist and have no concept of people in other countries being able to think for themselves.  You might be surprised to find most of them are better at it than you are.
1462  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Let's talk about bitcoin's image on: April 25, 2021, 12:14:45 PM
and even the bitcoin development(blockstream)

And you, being the totalitarian dictator you are, would like them to stop, right?  You voluntarily enter into an open source, permissionless environment and then you start trying to dictate who is and isn't allowed to code stuff.  Or what they are and aren't allowed to code.  You are the epitome of an egomaniac.

they are tarnishing bitcoin by stfling the transaction count onchain.

Some would argue it's the continued agreement of those who secure the chain that limits the number of onchain transactions.  But I'm sure you'll tell us in great detail how you (and only you) believe it's actually your boogeymen accomplishing that, though.    Roll Eyes

limiting its utility

You know what would really limit its utility?  If it were to become centralised, like it probably would if you had your way.
1463  Economy / Economics / Re: The Country Cryptocurrency vs Bitcoin on: April 24, 2021, 05:16:44 PM
Investors will still stay with the old, established and original currency as bitcoin.

Try not to think of CBDCs as "investments".  They're not.  Assuming they ever went ahead with the idea, it would just be a purely digital continuation of the existing national currency.  But I doubt they would go ahead with it because a) they lack the competence to do it correctly and b) I don't think society is quite ready to accept it yet.
1464  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: London High Court: Craig Wright to sue Bitcoin.org operator-publisher on: April 23, 2021, 06:20:43 PM
This cuts both ways.  There should be a backlash against anyone who has ever given this parasite a platform.  He wouldn't have got this far without support.  Any business or conference that endorses Faketoshi should be boycotted.  Make him as toxic to consort with as possible, so no one in their right mind would consider being associated with him again.  This farce needs to end.
1465  Economy / Economics / Re: The Country Cryptocurrency vs Bitcoin on: April 22, 2021, 01:23:01 PM
even though we know the UK is one of the most powerful countries on earth that has ever controlled 1/4 of the world

It "was" one of the most powerful countries.  Nowadays I doubt it's in a position to beat Litecoin.  The entire economy is effectively propped up by a housing bubble and some City of London chicanery.  If anything goes awry with either of those things, it's going to look pretty bleak.

//EDIT:  Also worth mentioning, the UK spent £37 BILLION on a Covid "test and trace" project that never even worked.  What possible hope does that fuckwit Sunak think they have at making a CBDC?  It would no doubt turn into yet another "give loads of public money to private companies who happen to have connections with tory MPs or tory party donors, only for them not to deliver on their promises" sleaze-fest.
1466  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 100% Doge will 10X in a Month 1% chance bitcoin will 10% - What will they buy? on: April 21, 2021, 01:32:51 PM

Anyone can jump on a rising alt and try to get out before the dump.  It's worth noting that not everyone will be successful playing that game.  Do you think this is the first time someone has pumped a cheap altcoin?  Your analysis is weak and completely one-sided.  No one cares how many people want to get rich.  That's not what Bitcoin is here for.  By claiming that it is, you only demonstrate how misguided you are.
1467  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: The consensus dead end. on: April 20, 2021, 11:52:25 AM
of course NSA could crack this stuff all along.
Any proof or is it just the tinfoil hat talking?

Pretty sure that applies to every post this user has ever made.  I don't think I've ever witnessed them utter a word of sense in all 294 posts.

How would I become a part of this consensus?

Help secure the chain.  Most people do that by running a non-mining full node.  You'll then check every block conforms to the consensus rules which your chosen client enforces.  The alternative is to become a miner.  However, mining likely isn't an option unless you have a fairly significant sum of money you don't mind putting at risk, because you'd have to buy specialist hardware and return-on-investment is not guaranteed.

How is the incentive for mining going to be preserved after the coin creation is not enough? Can consensus create more coin for mining incentive? Without mining bitcoin will collapse, right?

Getting off-topic with this part, but the network will run purely on transaction fees after coin emission ceases.
1468  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The problem is that it could take again many years to recover on: April 19, 2021, 11:25:30 AM
it could again take many years for BTC to reach 100k.
Many people will be dead before BTC will reach 1 mio.

So?  It's not a get-rich-quick scheme.  Stop treating it like one.  The function and purpose of Bitcoin is of greater importance than the fiat value ascribed to bitcoins.  The network itself has no concept of your desires for arbitrary round numbers with lots of trailing zeroes.  That's not a priority.
1469  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Foggy identities. on: April 18, 2021, 01:00:32 PM
I respect the anonymity Satoshi wanted.
But the reason i dig little is because unfortunately his 'persona' was used , as  weapon in strifes
as exploitable material and that stroke me . How it is possible cypherpunks or developers so easily
to play with the name and also blame others who want to dig?

Because deliberately trying to blur the lines between the legitimate satoshi and the scummy identity thief makes you just as untrustworthy as the fraudulent impostor.  You are perfectly capable of making a clear distinction between the two personalities, but you have chosen not to.
1470  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Foggy identities. on: April 18, 2021, 11:13:57 AM
If satoshi has said something, anything, in 2019, I'm pretty sure we'd be aware of it.  Please stop making shit up.
1471  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's the network plan in case of a 51% attack? on: April 17, 2021, 07:18:21 PM
A simple implementation of decentralized rolling checkpoints would solve the largest dangers

It doesn't, though.  Checkpoints are just a lottery to randomly determine a cut-off point where some get their last transaction honoured, while others get reversed.  That doesn't solve anything.  The chain has still failed to maintain its alignment of incentives.
1472  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's the network plan in case of a 51% attack? on: April 17, 2021, 06:38:12 PM
Why would there be a recovery plan?  I consider chains that have suffered hashrate attacks as failed projects.  I don't waste time considering what could be done to salvage them.  There's no point being sentimental about these things.  Passionate as I am about Bitcoin, I wouldn't make an exception for it.  If Bitcoin were to fail in such a fashion, I'd be out without hesitation.  I maintain confidence that we've taken every possible precaution to avoid one happening, though.
1473  Economy / Economics / Re: Janet Yellen to call for unified global corporate tax rate on: April 16, 2021, 02:43:30 PM
There are more rich people than ever, and they're richer than ever, new billionaires every day, but taxes are too high ? Are you using some drug when writing this ?

100% this.  If the economy is in a bad shape, it's because the wealthiest people are sitting on more money than they could spend in a lifetime.  The money doesn't flow.  Those who would spend their money back into the economy (assuming they had any) barely have enough to live on.  Many people can hardly afford the bare essentials, let alone any luxuries they might crave.  I live in a nation that is supposedly a first world country, but they fudge the employment figures with zero-hour contracts.  People aren't really working to the extent the government like to pretend they are, but everyone plays along for reasons I still can't fathom.  Then they pretend inflation is only a few percent, but they conveniently ignore half the things people need to buy in order to live because, if they include those things, inflation would be a number that makes the government look as though they're handling the economy poorly.  Obviously we can't have that, so fudge those numbers too.  All the while, they're doing deals to sell public assets, to private companies (which they just so happen to have a connection with) and pocket the difference.  All in the name of capitalism.  Except it isn't anything remotely like capitalism anymore.  It's just corruption and thievery.  A crime syndicate in all but name.

But yes, all the brainwashed people in this topic can keep bleating about a tax increase that's still lower overall than what many other nations already have.  Hell, back in the '80s, most places had a ~40% corporate tax.  I'm sure all these prognostications of mass corporate exodus are a little far-fetched if the US raise it to 28%.
1474  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Taproot proposal on: April 15, 2021, 01:09:08 PM
So, steering the conversation back towards Taproot, is that being "sold" the right way?  Is there anything people could conceivably object to?  The communications so far all seem on point to me.
1475  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: COPA vs Faketoshi CSW on: April 13, 2021, 05:26:49 PM
It's good to see that people are willing to take the fight to him.  At the very least, it takes an amount of time which Faketoshi is unable to spend attacking others.  The injunction sounds promising.  Hope they get it.  Not sure what their chances are, but will keep my fingers crossed.
1476  Economy / Economics / Re: Usa new currency digital dollar soon on: April 12, 2021, 09:05:46 PM
If this is true, (...)

It isn't.  Just like every other topic the OP has ever posted, it's a fever dream of a deluded soul.  They keep thinking they're going to get rich by sitting there and doing nothing.
1477  Economy / Economics / Re: Janet Yellen to call for unified global corporate tax rate on: April 12, 2021, 01:19:10 PM
Instead of working for 40 hours a week and earning $400,000, I can opt to work for 20 hours a week and earn $200,000. These sort of insane taxes will only encourage unproductive activity.

Why do you equate time not spent getting paid with being "unproductive"?  There are plenty of worthwhile things you can do with your time that don't involve making yourself financially wealthier.  Is money really the only thing you care about?  Are there no other motivations to spur you on?  Consider re-evaluating what's actually important to you.  For some people, time is the far more valuable commodity.  Imagine what you could do with all that extra time.

Also, I'm not sure what you were trying to achieve with that example.  It's difficult to feel sympathy for someone who can earn $200,000 working just 20 hours a week and acts like they're somehow in a difficult position.  Maybe stop pretending you're going to win sob-story of the year with that one, yeah?
1478  Economy / Economics / Re: Janet Yellen to call for unified global corporate tax rate on: April 11, 2021, 11:46:47 AM
So the choice was between a president who is not liked by the social media and in favor of low taxes, and someone who is the darling of social media and in favor of high taxes. The American voters made their choice and I congratulate them. I hope they are now happy with the tweets that are coming out of the official POTUS handle. Obviously that is a higher priority when compared to taxes, employment and economic growth.

So we're back to the "Republicans are always good for the economy" trope?  If it isn't already absurd enough that nations chase perpetual economic growth, surely it's even more absurd when they think they can achieve that by cutting their way to growth?  I'll never understand republicans/conservatives.  They don't want to pay for public services, but they still expect them to not only function, but function well.  It's truly baffling.

What isn't a threat to USD's reserve currency status these days?   Cheesy

I don't see this as anything other than the published musings of a random mogul on what must have been a slow news day.  It doesn't hold water.
I think that almost everything that China is doing is pretty much threatening to the US considering their influence is expanding, like the one now that they are doing African continent. I don't know how bitcoin can be a Chinese weapon but do we really have to worry if it ever was one?

I don't believe we have any concerns at all, no.  One minute the media are saying China have declared war on Bitcoin, the next minute, the media are saying China will use Bitcoin to take over the world.  It's basically just one mindless, sensationalist figment of their imagination after another.
