1461  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: May 11, 2023, 09:34:49 PM
I think it was basically just not getting warmed up to the game at first, players were just getting their game going and then got scored twice in a row, that is definitely a terrible situation for them.
That doesn't count towards not getting properly warmed up. They had the rest of the game to be more prepared or warned up hut they couldn't do nothing until the final whistle. There have been teams that faced similar scenario in the EPL and they came back to equalize the game and not from a 2 goals down like we had in AC Milan 0:2 Inter Milan. This was a lofty 3 goals difference for Tottenham and Liverpool but, they were unlucky as the Richarlison equalizer wasn't left to last way goo ling. Arsenal and West Ham United had there own episode with a 2 goals but, West Ham United was able to end the game in a draw as well.

AC Milan not being able to get a goal out of the game just shows how poorly prepared they were and I didn't 3xpect them to beat Inter any ways. Still, I expected a good game from teams that have history that goes way back.
1462  Economy / Economics / Re: Replacement? on: May 10, 2023, 11:55:33 PM
I have been seeing the progress of cryptocurrency these past few years, and I've been thinking, will it definitely be a replacement for physical money and use crypto as a primary transactions in our everyday life?
Do we hope to live in a nation without borders some day? Or
Have some global system of governance?

If the answers to these are "NO", then there isn't any chance that we would have bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency out there to replace fiat. Fiat is very much government product and a very vital tool to centralisation as some way go ensure they maintain some control over its citizens.

Besides, bitcoin has got some downsides to it of which, fiat very much compliments or perhaps I should say fiat came into existence before bitcoin so yeah. There are times when you don't just have any need for digitalism and that's where hard currencies come in. Fiat and bitcoin working together is our best bet for the future.
1463  Economy / Economics / Re: Deposits-in the bank or in gold? on: May 10, 2023, 11:44:34 PM
How to save savings in inflation, there are many deposits provided by the bank, but banks often go bankrupt, does it make sense to buy gold? How is gold bought in a bank and interest is issued on it?
When it's got to do with local banks, it doesn't matter the strategy you take or not take. All road still leads back to them when you have your savings in fiat or buy gold with same bank.
Should there be issues of the bank going bankrupted, your savings in both fiat and gold for commodity would be laid waste as well. Gold might attain some solid state but still, your portfolio could still be liquidated and used to perform other banking options untill they lack the ability to pay.

This is why, its of importance that, you diversify have some of your portfolio in other valuable gorms and when using the services of local banks, don't stick to just one.
1464  Economy / Economics / Re: Are you Spending Money the Wrong Way in Pursuit of Happiness? on: May 10, 2023, 11:34:46 PM
  • use your money to benefit others rather than yourself
I got the point about being a philanthropist but, the purpose of having all those funds is because you worked for it and giving away things doenst mean you should depressive yourself. Your entitled to your reward for hard work and I don't see reasons why you should help and not help yourself with the things you need. That's a first responsibility to yourself and every other thing is a secondary concern.

Spending on others becomes a lot easier that way. When you ain't fighting with your thoughts over the things your not getting for yourself and you find it very important to your wellbeing or living your true nature.
1465  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Early Bitcoin adopters on: May 09, 2023, 10:57:11 PM

1466  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League 2022/23 Season on: May 09, 2023, 10:44:27 PM

I very much hope that in addition to the victory of my favorite team: Juventus, Roma will also win
So you can have an all-Italian derby
Roma should succeed without problems, in my opinion their opponent is inferior to them

Roma have a terrible streak of 4 games without a win in Serie A which saw them lose the race for the top 4. On the one hand, it says that Roma are not in the best shape now, but Roma are a strong team and do not deserve endless failures (especially under the leadership of Mourinho, who is very strong in cup competitions), so I expect a confident victory over Bayer. I think everything will already be decided after the first game. As for Juventus, it must win simply by class. Now they are at different levels with Sevilla.
There is so little AS Roma could offer for the Serie A at the time but, the Europa league is a trophy that is still within grasps and J. Mourinho isn't looking to go trophy less this season. He's got a gold enough experience to make it happen and even with the Bundesliga side being a good team and the bad performance of AS Roma in the Serie A, Mourinho has got his goal card with P. Dybala who has consistently come off the bench and scored important goals for his side this season.

Jevntus is one team as well that is in between form but, I naturally expect them to win there fixture.
1467  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: May 09, 2023, 10:34:56 PM
Real Madrid were much more effective at defending tonight unliked my expectation. There was Rüdiger in the defense line as well and I was doubting his performance. Because he hasn't been performing very consistently. However he defended Haaland in a really strong way. Alaba also prevented Haaland from scoring a goal by a big chance. The defense did a great job in this match as a result.
I didn't expect a draw from this match, I had hopes that Real Madrid would manage to pull out a win out of this first leg but, Manchester City understood the risk of letting Real Madrid have the first leg advantage.  The great whites aren't a team to hope on a come back from, as they can go ahead to undo you in the second half. This makes this first leg draw a good days  work for Pep and his boys.
De Bruyne is this good, comes through in big games, just when everyone else is having difficulty and it's game on for them in the second leg. It's not going to be any easy with Real Madrid going to the Etihad. Eliminating 2 EPL teams at there home would be the worst Real Madrid would do this season.
1468  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin has become un-useable. Switch to altcoins or short sell on: May 09, 2023, 05:47:23 PM
To say bitcoin is unusable here is a term that shouldn't apply or used. High transaction fee doesn't translate to unusable and at most, 50sat/byte which counts for the minimum to have your transaction occupy some mb on the network isn't so much. It depends on the volume of transaction your initiating though.
In any case, swapping bitcoin  for altcoins because of transaction fee at the time might be the worst idea to tackle the times and something that shouldt be patronised. Altcoins are highly unreliable and could still dump or lose value.
No fee would be worth loosing your coin over and that too is a possibility with altcoins.
1469  Economy / Economics / Re: Would you consider moving abroad? on: May 07, 2023, 09:00:45 PM
The job market has become extremely competitive in the past few years, while the increasing cost of living and low wages are forcing people to move abroad for a chance at a better future. Personally, I believe the economic conditions in Greece have been deteriorating; groceries, rent, and fuel have skyrocketed while the available income keeps shrinking. People with degrees are struggling to find jobs in their field that pay above the minimum wage and offer benefits such as paid vacation and humane working conditions.
I would say, opportunities are everywhere. It might seem easier to find in some other places and the grass always looks greener abroad but, it is really greener where you water it.
Have you ever wondered why there are always foreigners in your nation? I don't say this with respect to an specific nation but, most of the developing world and people still looking forward to a comfortable life in a foreign nation.

The Dubai desert land became a tourist destination because, they chose to develop it. The most that could happen is having a good leader with the potential for transformation. There are opportunities everywhere and that's why, there will always be foreign contractors to do what you could have done more better becuase, you just don't know how. Some even live in your supposedly hardship country.
Why is that? The opportunities you seek out, they seek it within your nation.
1470  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What are the do's and dont's of signature on: May 07, 2023, 08:48:23 PM
Signatures are just fixative signs to a brand and it is a broadcasting power which opens up to users after attaining certain ranks om the forum. It has some configurations to it though based on ranks as there are a certain number of characters that could be accommodated based on your rank on the forum.

Now, your at liberty to do as you like with your signature space but, when you go into a contract with some company running a signature on the forum, you've got to play by there rules. It's always about;

You don't add referrer links or
You input referrer links.

Its basically about there goals and what they hope to archive with whatever means they chose and its always up to the manager to act as need be.
1471  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Avoid Ponzi/Ponzi scheme is a scam on: May 07, 2023, 08:38:25 PM
The skirt maker was contacted or asked to help them promote their project not because of his knowledge of the project, but rather because of his influence, or the number of people that the project could reach through him.
I wouldn't be surprised if the skirt maker in question never visited the website he promoted; as long as these influencers get paid, they couldn't care less about what happens to their viewers or those they claim to be fans.

It's now being repeated everywhere DYOR, regardless of who is selling you a project, if you haven't done your own research, don't buy it.
There is nothing strange about it, it's just business and those who happen to take these influencers too serious should as well be ready for the backlash that accompanies there strick adherence to whatever is sold to them.
You've got to understand that, this is just business and in almost every case, these guys dissociate themselves from these project under some disclaimer term. They are in it for the money as influencers and not as investors. They could even earn more through you by using referrer links.

One means to always spot these schemes is, they've got no project they are selling, they operate on a pyramid scheme and there needs to be an influx of new users to continue. Unfortunately, that's something that doesn't always happen and as such, what happens when the new users stops coming in and the old users are about taking profits. Its a crash and that makes it a bad investment.
Ponzi schemes is a must avoid.
1472  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best time of day to send crypto from ledger to exchange? on: May 07, 2023, 08:25:47 PM
Mempool are less congested during weekends almost all the time, one of the best time to make low fee transactions with faster confirmation.

Mempool observer to know the fee rate to use for faster confirmation:

For beginners: https://mempool.space
For advanced users: https://jochen-hoenicke.de/queue/
Well for most weeks on weekends, it's often low but this weekend isn't one of those. The mempool is very congested and has toppled today as against what it was yesterday.

With OP talking about a time in the day, there virtually isn't a specific timing to it but, you could always try initiating transactions that could span over the night if you've got intent to use a low fee and when it doesn't confirm by morning, you be ready to boost your fee rate and broadcast to the network.

The better way to apply  timing to initiating a transaction would be as Charles-Tim stated, using mempool observer.
1473  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: May 07, 2023, 08:15:51 PM
I had feared for Manchester United when they conceded the goal in the first half but tried to remain optimistic that they would turn things around in the second half. West Ham tightened their defense and managed despite a great deal of pressure from United to hold the scoreline till the end.
The excitement is surely increasing as the season draws to an end.
I would give West Ham United credit to have been able to hold on to there one goal advantage up to the last minute. Manchester United were besieged with hard luck today, so many chances that hit the woodwork, we had Rashford, Anthony and Fernández with a good enough opportunity to convert but, they just weren't able to find a goal. The second half wasn't that exciting for Manchester United as West Ham United stepped up there game plan and were more attacking than i can say for Manchester United. The Manchester United lacked pace and pace is how they pressure there opposition but, that wasn't seen today.
It's a massive 3 points for West Ham United today, Newcastle United beaten and Liverpool in the best position to press on.
1474  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: May 06, 2023, 11:11:50 PM
The Chelsea team and their football fans are supposed to jubilate about their first-ever win after Lampard started to head them as interim coach. Before the Chelsea victory today, It was as if they were on their way to the relegation zone(Losing stretch of 6 matches in a row) because of their losing habit in matches. Many people presumed that they are close to the relegation zone if they fail to win over Bournemouth. As luck could have it, they won when fewer people expected it. At least this today's win against Bournemouth is going to make them not go down to the relegation zone as earlier presumed by many.
For a moment, it seemed there glory would have been short lived when Bournemouth scored that equaliser minutes after the C. Gallagher's goal. That was some cross from Kante I must say, he picked Gallagher real good and he headed the ball into the corner good too. The Bournemouth goal left Kapa stuned as he must have felt, "some old close to victory shit again".
Then in the second half, they had there second goal and a third goal by J. Felix to seal the game for Frank Lampard. He didn't look so joyous to me @Frank Lampard after the win. He's been through some good enough disappointments and troubled emotions that it would take more than one win to be better.
An important 3 points for the blues but, its unto the next now!
1475  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🦊 Betnomi.com | FPL Football Pool ⚽ Discussion Thread on: May 06, 2023, 10:51:42 PM
I also want Salah in my team for Liverpool's next three games (Leicester City, Aston Villa, and Southampton), but I'm trying to find a way to get him without hitting more than -8. Before the next GW, I'll make a brave decision between Jesus and Watkins, as well as some Brighton assets. I'm not sure if I had Alvarez on my team this season; I could have forgotten, but he's one guy I never considered because his odds of playing are slim.
Salah is treated like an opportunistic player at least, that's how I viewed him before now but, he's come to actually show his worth at this point when the level is almost coming to a close. Definitely won't be a bad addition getting him on but, the player for me to get off between Waktkins and G. Jesus would be G. Jesus. Watkins comes through with some impressive attacks both within the goalkeeper's box and isn't shy to send a shot in from outside the box.
J. Alvarez hasn't been playing any badly but, he only comes on when E. Haaland gives way and that is, when Pep is certified with the scoreline or they've got a UCL fixture. A couple of games now, let's say 2 games, his featured alongside E. Haaland but, that is that.

My team though, negligence has crumbled it as I didn't make any use of the double game week!
1476  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: May 06, 2023, 10:38:46 PM
Man United may have found themselves in a difficult position. They may be the biggest losers from the recent form of Liverpool. Five straight wins from Liverpool places them just one point behind Man United. Although Liverpool have played two games more, it still places Man United in a difficult spot.
I still won't see Manchester United to be the biggest losers. After all, they've got games ahead to better place them with good enough points head of Liverpool. Those who better suits here is Arsenal. Like  I don't get how they get to maintain such a good run through the first phase of the league up to the ending of the second phase and just lose there rhythm. Perhaps it's fatigue of haven't been coming through with impossible wins but, them not taking this league in the end would be such a waste of what could have been there best chance. Next season might not be so kind with them and the team might be dissected during the transfers.
1477  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: #14, 000,000,000 for Aso Rock Painting and Furnitures on: May 06, 2023, 09:10:26 PM
The Nigerian government have set aside the whooping sum of #14 billion in naira for the rehabilitation of the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja prior the inauguration of the new president Bola Ahmed Tinubu,
Lol... believe me eh, this laugh, I laugh am well when I see this thing but, no matter shah. Nigeria our country. Na to chop be the idea and e no get how them go tell me say, them no top up that budget with like 40-50% way them go split at the end of the day. That money fit still no do cef.
Las Las, na where our 001 go stay be that o, dey receive guest and any other official duties way e wan run. Where e go tire everybody na say, our country never see the light, bread no dey for plenty people and suffer dey spy from every corner. Make them pity common man kwanu.
1478  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Which cryptocurrency payment/exchange platform allows domestic payments on: May 06, 2023, 09:04:18 PM
I dey yet to see exchanges way dey offer services like buying airtime, paying utility bills, buying vacation tickets, lodging and the rest of them with cryptocurrency. E go hard for this one to happen because, it's not a legal tender yet. We just dey use strong head and the fact say, you no really fit stop am dey run watin we dey run but, using it for everyday services an transaction like payment of utility bills way concern government, that na matter. Via say, government no really recognise them and this telecom services dey glued with government policies too.

When it comes to swapping coins between wallets on the same platform, even local banks no dey swap naira between variant bank accounts in the same bank. Watin you still do na transfer just that, them no charge you for the transaction but, them go charge you for sms alert.

When it comes to cryptocurrency, na technically the same thing except say, each of these transactions need confirmation on the blockchain and that one don cross boundary to go through miners way go collect processing fee. Which means, you gats pay for the process.
1479  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Guys, do we now have two president? on: May 05, 2023, 11:54:08 PM
Nothing really sup here brother. No be today way Wike or Governors start to invite who dey there body to gone commission projects. It could be anyone and as e con be president elect, nothing spoil kwa.
The project in question cef no be federal project, na state project and to be straight, na one of the interior roads for ph way Wike just wan use recover small from watin e don spend.

I hear say Tinubu still show am small shege with some kind word way commot for en mouth. Like e talk say, e no dey owe the guy anything. Na there game shah, make them dey play dey go.
1480  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is self-meriting possible? on: May 05, 2023, 08:36:35 PM
Typically now there's no way that you can make a loop with your merits and getting abuse with this, seems like you want to immediately rank up.
It's good it wasn't because, the only once that might have been issuing merits in the forum would have as well be merit sources.
That's because, should OP harbour the thought in a scenario where such was possible, you won't be expecting anyone to dish out merit to you @OP when you are about meriting yourself.
Besides, it would be a slap on the idea of meriting as, you can't be the accurate judge of your own post. Your posts are expected to make impact on others and you can't tell how much impact it has made on me if your the one doing the merit as OP.
You might be conscious on efforts put in but that too is better said by those reading.
