1461  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Know any laptop wallets that have Google 2FA login? on: January 27, 2023, 05:28:26 AM
Why would you want to use 2FA authentication on a PC? We use that one smartphone to keep our friends away or to keep unauthorized person from operating our phones, but with a PC you just have to use a strong password, I have to warn you, do not use any crypto wallets that use email and password for login, they are not self custodial wallets e.g freewallet. All you have to worry about is keeping your private keys safe and using a strong password on your PC will keep people away.

1463  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can bitcoin compete with CBDC's? on: January 26, 2023, 08:49:09 AM
There is nothing to compete about here, CBDC is going to be the digital stable FIAT, why compare this with something that's comparable to GOLD? Also Bitcoin is volatile which creates opportunities for newcomers and also keeps the balance in different cycles. Do not expect too much of CBDC because it's just going to be like USDC.

CBDC will support crypto for sure though.
1464  Other / Beginners & Help / Reason why I will never help anyone to invest in crypto on: January 26, 2023, 06:30:21 AM
I have successful stories of people around me that are now crypto guru, it's been a long time coming and I feel happy that they are now even better than me who teach them almost everything about Bitcoin and crypto in general but..

There are some people like six of them who are troublesome to me, they don't want to learn but they like the success stories surrounding crypto investment, not sure about the risk side, the funny thing is they want me to help them invest and choose coins for them, to me this is like breaking the rules of crypto investment, meaning they have no knowledge about what they are investing money on.

Even if they invest what they are ready to lose it still makes no sense, no one can run crypto investment for you while you know nothing about the tech, I told them this but they believe I intentionally do not want help them.  In this case they are the only ones that can help themselves.

If you are in same position like me, no matter how much you like someone or want the best for them do not help them to invest in crypto, they are lazy asses who can't get anything done on their own, and this type of game I don't play it because, in the end, you will become their enemy.  It's already happening and I just ignored them. Is anyone seeing the same thing in their city or country?
1465  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Doxxed team can help a new gambling platform? on: January 25, 2023, 07:43:38 AM
I heard it's not easy to run a licensed casino either online or offline, if you like yourself do not build a gambling haven without getting the licensed, you will be nailed so hard you will start regretting it, I believe that casinos do not need to reveal their identity because of the business they are running, if you can think about it very well they are very vulnerable to differs types of crimes if their identity is revealed.
1466  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Its safe to say Bitcoin has recovered all it's losses since the FTX collapse? on: January 25, 2023, 06:08:21 AM
You only look on the FTX collapse while you're not paying attention to other more important case e.g. Lukedashjr aka Bitcoin Core's developer hardware wallet got hacked and Joe Grand aka Kingpin which can hack a hardware wallet. Most users and early holders always recommend to use hardware wallet to hold large amount of Bitcoin, with the previous 2 cases before, can an Average Joe still think hardware wallet is still the most safest place? I guess they're think hardware isn't completely safe too.

Don't forget the last year there are not really have many bad news about Bitcoin, there are still have a good news but it doesn't make Bitcoin price increase.
I read about how the bitcoin core developer lost his assets to a hack but do you believe that the loss of funds is not his fault? I do not believe this because mistakes don't care if you are a core developer or even a president of a country, you can still make mistakes, I still believe that his incident is one out of a million because I have not heard about someone losing fund using a hardware wallet, he his the first,  which make me believe that he messed up somehow.
1467  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where did it all go wrong on: January 25, 2023, 04:54:38 AM
It's been many years since I have started investing in crypto and I have never seen anyone losing their coins to scammers and later recover the coins through a platform or someone who is tech savvy helping them out, once you lost your coins it is gone forever, all that is let is to simply move on, if anyone contact you and claim they can help its another scam again.

1469  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Its safe to say Bitcoin has recovered all it's losses since the FTX collapse? on: January 24, 2023, 12:18:26 PM
It seems that people are now getting used to Bitcoin market behaviour, now people are understanding that Bitcoin cycle is 4 years. Imagine if the FTX collapse happen in 2017, I believe the impact will be more drastical compare to today, now I can boldly say that Bitcoin has now recovered all it's losses since the FTX collapsed, is this safe to say?

I never expected the fast recovery that's why I said the world is finally understanding why Bitcoin is a necessity in every one's life, am I saying too much? Or you think I am right?
1470  Economy / Economics / Re: Can I take a loan to invest in bitcoin? on: January 24, 2023, 11:04:27 AM
There is something about me that I don't get, whenever I borrow money or take a loan for something it always end up being a waste of time, when I discussed this with my parents they told me they noticed the same thing about themselves, things works better for me when I use my own hard earned money to invest or start a business, I don't know if this has something to do with the spiritual side of human or it's just luck. This is why I don't borrow or take loan for anything.
1471  Other / Beginners & Help / Exit liquidity on: January 24, 2023, 07:12:26 AM
In my early stage of crypto investment I was once a victim of exit liquidity and right now the numbers of crypto influencers on Youtube is growing in numbers and merely seeing this it brings back some bad memories.

My Mistake

I spent few hours per day watching influencers videos on youtube, and u always think they know better than everyone else, they talk about coins that will bring 10x to 1000x in the next bull run and I listened only to realise that they are doing this to bring in new buyers for their own bag to surge and exit on us.

The lesson I learned is all those influencers are pumping their own bags so that people like myself can become an exit liquidity. Always do your own research and don't trust any influencers.

The next successful crypto projects are probably never going to be talked about by anyone or get shilled online by anyone, do not rely on influencers to pick tokens and coins, spend your time finding the next good projects with new utilities, do your own research and invest wisely.
1472  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Coingecko portfolio tracker? on: January 23, 2023, 04:24:25 PM
I've never used the coingecko tracker before so I didn't know how it works but reading your complaint it seems you need a tracker that can scan your wallet address to know and calculate how much you spend and how much you have left, I am a bit curious though as I've never seen such tracker before. I am used to Coinmarketcap and whenever I spent part of my assets I have to edit and deduct the amount.
1473  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: An honest answer on mining with solar on: January 23, 2023, 10:22:42 AM
OP I am from Nigeria and I am using solar power for my asic miner, solar panels are not that costly anymore unlike a few years back, I started with 6 250 watt solar panels then increase the number as I add more miners including gpu miners, today I can boldly say that it's worth the investment, just make sure you go with a big inverter since you won't be buying twice and keep adding panels bit by bit, before you know it you will have massive power available through Sun energy.
1474  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Anyone living with older people? on: January 23, 2023, 07:52:08 AM
Older people are the hardest to deal with, I have never had any luck with them, not for once, they always think that what they knew is the best for we the younger ones, when I started investing in crypto my father and mother don't understand me, I tried explaining over and over but they are worried that I will burn my time away over nothing, until a radio station talk about crypto investment and my father rushed down to my place and told me to put in more effort.  He is late now and I miss him so much, he was a big part of my never give up spirit.

Till this day my mother still doubts and I just get used to it, instead, I spend time trying to teach younger generation about crypto and blockchain, they are just easier to get along with.

1476  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Warning ⚠️ there is a new hack that steals bank/crypto info on your phone on: January 20, 2023, 09:48:18 AM
Apart from the fact that the PDF file itself has a bad reputation, I don't understand how to send it to your phone. I literally broke my head trying to add some files to my phone in the SMS messages section. You can add a link to a file easily, but I couldn't add the file itself. Does Android allow sending files via SMS? There is also a blacklist for blocking unknown numbers; isn't this in Android? In any case, to avoid the temptation to open the file, remove the program from your phone that allows you to open PDF files.

But if you are constantly receiving such messages by email, maybe change your email?
I don't know the type of android phone you have but yes android phones allow sending files through messages ( MMS aka MultiMedia Messaging Service )  , if it's not working on your phone you might want to adjust some settings under messages.
1477  Other / Beginners & Help / Warning ⚠️ there is a new hack that steals bank/crypto info on your phone on: January 19, 2023, 04:30:20 PM
I don't know if this is the right place for this, I need to warn people about a new trick that hackers are using to drain bank accounts and crypto wallet.

someone living next to me lost over 2000$ in his bank account and tokens in his metamask all wiped out..the last thing he did before he started receiving debit alert is opening a PDF sent to his mobile number, that's it.

The same PDF that's been sent to me several times and since the sender hidden their number I can't block them for good, I just knew it feels wrong downloading a PDF file that I wasn't expecting.

Many people have already became a victim, most are not into crypto and they are blaming the banks.

If you are from Nigeria 🇳🇬 be very careful, the hackers form any +234 numbers and send them this PDF file, there are more than 5 people within my area that have received the same PDF, there are too many news about money vanished from bank accounts that's why many people are scared now.

I have deleted this shit over 20 times already but the sender keeps sending it back, if you know how I can block the sender ( hidden number ) please do share. God bless
1478  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Treat your Bitcoin as if it is already Worth 10x of what it is on: January 19, 2023, 01:39:48 PM
It's still going to be worth more than 10x anyway that's why we held unto our Bitcoin, it's the real digital gold, and holding for the long term is the game, truthfully it's not 10x right now and I don't need to start pretending that it's already 10x, what's your buying point? I guess that's what matters.

Come to think of it, if you fool yourself that Bitcoin is worth 10x and a big dump happens how will you feel? Because it looks like you are just playing with your emotions, you don't need to.

The present value is why I am buying, no dips no reason to buy.
1479  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A good way to promote Bitcoin or not? on: January 19, 2023, 10:56:38 AM
This is a good idea, there is a big advantage when displaying " we accept bitcoin payment here," in your store or business even if very little people are using Bitcoin as a means of making payment.

You are creating awareness even when there is no interest, those who will have interest will come anyway and they will start asking what Bitcoin is all about and how can they use it.

1480  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: what are the disadvantages of paper wallet on: January 19, 2023, 08:07:45 AM
Assuming you use your paper wallet in the correct way and sign your transaction offline, there is no need to create a new paper wallet every time you make a new transaction, unless you want to use a different change address due to privacy reasons.

You're technically right. Though this is something I don't expect the typical person is capable of doing correctly. Most people are simply a lot better fit to use hardware wallets.
Strange, am I the only newbie that started her crypto journey using paper wallet? The first wallets I created for BTC and LTC are paper wallets, later when I decided to move into altcoins I still went for altcoins that uses paper wallet, Electroneum was on of those altcoin back then, I just find paper wallet to be easier to use.
