1462  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is there anyone know how many bitcoins disappear forever? on: August 05, 2023, 11:33:05 AM
I recently stumbled upon a Google search, and it caught my attention that newsbtc released a report stating that Six Million BTC Are Out Of Circulation Forever. This suggests that if their report is accurate, six million Bitcoin have been lost. However, I personally think the actual number might be higher, though I cannot confirm the accuracy of the report. It's possible that some of these "out of circulation" Bitcoins could resurface in the future as their owners may be holding them long-term.
Some of those six million worth of bitcoin could have been lost owing to sudden death of the owners maybe a ghastly car accident or some related accident (not only through a lost of private keys by owner) ,and these unfortunate BTC owners in their wallet never exposed their private keys to a trusted family member who could have been able to have access to their wallet to retrieve those BTC from eternal loss.

What can we make of this in relation to increasing clamour for BTC hodlers to keep their private keys completely secret from anyone  not even to family members (under the idea of keeping it safe) due to trust issues.  Accessing this what are the options to avoid forever loss of our BTC if we don't want to let any family member know about our private keys while we're still alive?
1463  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Responsibilities of hierarchy in the forum on: August 04, 2023, 07:22:13 PM
I wouldn't be throwing blames on members that invites new persons in the forum both of them has a responsibility to play, and whosoever invited you to the forum has played his one step ahead and it's now left for you to carefully study how the forum works. If an invitee is observant enough they would observe that each section of the forum has a pinned post that explains and describes a lot about that section and what it deal with.

One bad behaviours about we newbies is that most of us are always in a hurry to drop a post instead of reading and learning from already existing threads in the forum. We know the forum is very versatile that not even so many high rankers have gotten a clue of 50% use of the forum so been a higher rank member doesn't mean they know it all. Any newbie that reads a lot from threads in the forum will be well aware of threads that have been made in the forum not to repeat them but when you don't spend time doing so it's easy to making repeated posts that has already been discussed overtime.
1464  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is there anyone know how many bitcoins disappear forever? on: August 04, 2023, 07:02:35 PM
There's no special place where lost bitcoin can be collected or retrieved other than the use of the very wallet private keys and if the private keys (seed phrase) is lost then your bitcoin in that wallet is lost forever and better be forgotten.
That is why we are advise to safely secure and store or private keys to avoid losing our coins .
1465  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you stop gambling (sports betting, casino e.t.c)? on: August 04, 2023, 06:30:36 PM
Gambling brings so much joy especially when you're on the winning side, when things are all in your favor it just seems like you should never stop. But when it gets bad, you look for a way to pour out your anger, either on someone or on something.
When someone is addicted to gambling I feel it's worst than one who's addicted to drugs.
Too much winning too can lead to addictive attitude. When a gambler is used to favourable streaks of wins for a period of time haven been lucky for too long forgotten that there's also an opposite side of gambling and then started experiencing series of losses later on, trying to chase those losses based on a one sided winning mentality you might have developed could lead to addiction as you endlessly keep chasing each loss after another, at that point it's very difficult to control oneself as you have already lost control of your gambling limit.

Gambling addiction and drug addiction is of no difference, the two are negative and self destructive so let not give one victim out there a feeling of a better position compared to the other.

Quote

The question is if you're a gambler or have someone who is, what's the best way to help out. And what's your story on escaping that addiction (gambling)...

How do you fight this battle?
Addiction to gambling or drugs is something I fear like hell, and I feel it's that fear that keeps me in check as I go on gambling. IMO, sometimes it's good to create fear about a phenomenon we see as negative to our wellbeing and that avoiding by keeping limits does us a lot better than trying to act brave whereas we're unconsciously falling to it gradually.

1466  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My new favorite betting method. on: August 04, 2023, 06:00:35 PM

So, what do you think about this betting method, Has someone tried it in the past?
I wonder how profitable anyone can be using this method of yours.
This betting method of yours is very risky and doubt if there's any good chance of getting a win out of it.  With each bet comes a higher amount with an increasing risk. And when the risk in our bets is very high it's easy to lose it. Why not make it the other way round as with each bet going forward you lower the risk while you make higher the bet amount, the chance of winning in this way is much better
1467  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do wager affect outcomes in any provably fair games on: August 02, 2023, 09:52:24 PM
When playing on a probably fair games there is possibility of result repeating twice or more and as random as it is it has nothing to do with your wagering as a determinant, it was just your lucky day  enjoy it while it last.  Except they are not probably fair games but if they are then anything out of the ordinary is a coincidence just like other members has emphasized. There's no way out previous bets can have any link with the outcome of our next bet. In gambling luck comes in different ways.
1468  Economy / Gambling / Re: [Table] Withdrawal Fees and Withdrawal Amounts on Crypto Casinos on: August 02, 2023, 09:04:54 PM
Not to shit on anyone's favorite casinos but why the heck is FortuneJack demanding users to withdraw at least 150 bucks?
Similar expression I gave when I saw the withdraw limit amount.
Maybe a way to show that they are bigger online casino in the crypto gambling industry and a destination for the bigger boys. What I call levels, and if anyone feel his level is below the withdrawal amount do yourself some food by looking the other way. Lol Grin

What I think is every gambler should always make sure to read ToS of a casino he's to register with, have an idea of their withdrawal limit amount and if it's cool by you then go ahead and if not stay off. But because you aren't cool with it doesn't mean others feel the same.  Some persons will agree with me that 150 bucks for them is such fair amount for withdrawal limit.

1469  Economy / Reputation / Re: [Interviews] with Bitcointalk members on: August 02, 2023, 07:26:05 PM
Thank you @zasad@ for giving me the opportunity  to be interviewed.

1. When and why did you become interested in cryptocurrencies?
I got interested about cryptocurrency two years ago after a close-door seminar I attended through an invite from a colleague. Though before then I have been coming across posts about cryptocurrency on social media platforms but never took interest in reading them but my interest was awakened after attending that very seminar.

2. When and why did you buy your first bitcoin?
I think I bought my first bitcoin a year ago and the whole delay in buying despite given interest was because I wasn't sure enough and had to forge ahead spent time doing my own research. And when I later stumbled on the bitcointalk through a friend I discovered more reasons to be a bitcoin holder.

3. How did you get on the forum?
Through a friend and am thankful to him. Happened when I expressed to him my need for extra means of finance, he told me about the forum and how it could also be a source to expand my knowledge on cryptocurrency since I have developed interest in it

4.1. How do you consider whether 2-3 years of experience in cryptocurrency is enough to successfully invest or does an investor need to receive special education?
IMO, two years of experience is good but not enough to depend on for a successful investments. Adding a special crypto knowledge can be an added advantage.

4.2. What prevents mass adoption of cryptocurrencies?
Using my locality as a case study:
* Ignorance and misinformation
*Poor network coverage as a discouragement to many.
*Unfriendly environment posed by the government through restrictive measures, policies and bans.
*Increasing crypto ponzi scam schemes.

4.3. What is the situation with cryptocurrencies in your country? Are there any problems when exchanging for fiat? Which city or place in your country is best suited for cryptocurrency holders?
Looking on the bright side minority of restrictions are gradually been lifted and with time it's possible a lot is going to change.
With the P2P system those supposed problems aren't visible.

I can't be sure if the city I have in mind could be the actual city but, not until a research is conducted about that I prefer not to mention any city to avoid giving wrong information.

4.4. Are you using the Lightning network? If yes, for what purposes?
No for now, am not making use of it but I have colleagues that makes use of it, and it's possible I may have to use it soon.

4.5. Which secure cryptocurrency wallets are you currently using?
I currently use ethereum. I read it's safer, secure and it's newbie friendly (easily to understand and use).

5. What do you think of the current Merit system and signature campaigns?  Do they harm the forum?
I think the merits system propels members to bring out the best in them giving quality informations, resource and content preventing and discouraging junk posting.

6. The most useful forum topic? Most helpful users?
There are a plethora of useful topics that can be found in the forum boards I have visited and picking one among them all is damn hard

There are lots of most helpful users in the forum but I'll mention a few: @Sceptic Chymist, @Cryotovator, @NeuroticFish, @DdmrDdmr, @CryptopreneurBrainBoss, @Fillippone, @JayjuanGee, @Ratimov, and @Royse777.

7. 3 things you would implement on the forum?
There are great convenient features on hand in the forum, and for now I haven't seen a need at the moment. But in the nearest future if I should think of anything I won't hesitate to let it out.

8. Do you trade on exchanges or invest in projects?
I seldom trade but I consider investment the more to trading.

9. Tell a story about your big profit or big loss?
Sorry, I prefer not to say.
Thank you!

11. Is your anonymity a vital necessity or precaution?
With how the society is getting more insecure each passing day I think anonymity should be of both necessity and precaution for security reasons.

12. The last cryptocurrency book you read?
Learn me a bitcoin.
Am still in progress in the reading of it.

13. Advise 3 cryptocurrencies/tokens for investment in the next 1-2 years?
Bitcoin.
Bitcoin.
Ethereum

14. How much will Bitcoin cost at the end of 2023?
From the beginning of the year 2023 I was looking at 100k plus. But keeping bias aside am now looking 45k-50k plus at the end of 2023.
1470  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Playing Slot Games On Demo/Free mode Vs Live/Paid Mode on: August 01, 2023, 06:17:32 PM
Hi Gamblers ,
I have a question majorly for slot players..
So today, i played a slot game with a very tiny amount of money, lost it all as usually, and since i was really enjoying the game, I decided to switch to demo/free mode and continue playing, then just like one or less than two minutes into playing the game on free mode, i won this $5,994, in 10 free spins that was awarded to me , see the shot below..
There's a big difference between entertainment  that's purely entertaining in itself compared to an entertainment that absorbs money from both ends. The first is free and it's programed to work in a way that should make you think by the winning results you're getting if same energy, momentum, and strategy is exerted on a  real life slot game you will be making real cash stead of a virtual figures in the demo.

But let me tell you what happens when you take such mentality of how cool you are winning in demo to play in a real slot game. At that moment is you against the house and you are categorically going to have a difficult time getting even one good win cause at the end you may lose it all.

Quote

And then, i became confused, and i began asking myself if it was possible i could have won this same amount if I had continued to play in live/paid mode ..
Are you sure it would have been possible? You have lost  it all before going for the demo due to the fun you were enjoying from the game, so what mak s you think you won't have continued with the losses regardless of how many times you  continue to play.

It's gambling, that's how we feel and think when we leave the casino house or log out but then we hear someone has just gotten a huge win, we then tell ourself oh it could have been me if I had stayed and continued gambling. But guess what, it's a mirage thinking.  And when it's demo game everyone is a good winner.
1471  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does cryptocurrency actually solve any problems? on: July 31, 2023, 08:51:01 PM
The solutions are enormous, it all depends on what you're looking out for from bitcoin as a digital currency.
You can preserve the value of your money in a long term through fiat but with bitcoin you don't only preserve value but adds value to your money. For a long term value bitcoin is your sure banker.

No control of your money by any centralized body because of its decentralized system which enable trust I'm the system something that can't be found under the fiat currency system. Etc.
1472  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: He Committed Suicide After Losing School fees, And That Of Friend To Betting.. on: July 31, 2023, 07:56:35 PM
Those I pity in this awful situation are the parents of that suicide victim it's a double pain for them having their hopes of a prospective responsible son in the future all gone at a glimpse and having to bear the burden of burying your child as a parent when child was supposed to bury parents. What a pity.

People should learn to differentiate between money meant for gambling and money for something of a different specific use. The idea of doubling your money amount through gambling is a deceptive one that will always lead to regrets no matter how many times we try.

I don't know if anybody has observed or it's just me, that we have never won in gambling when we use money that was meant for some important project to gamble. 99% times it has failed what winning hope there can 1% give you?

In conclusion, no matter how disgraceful, humiliating and downgrading the situation we find ourselves may look like due to our failed actions and inactions in life, please suicide isn't a resolution to it. Suicide only worsen the pains to your love ones you would be leaving behind.
1473  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino Slot Streamers on: July 31, 2023, 07:37:29 PM
Here I found a list of Top 10 Casino Slot Streamers which includes Corinna Kopf ,Tyler Faraz Niknamm, Flávio Fernandes and many others.

Do you guys follow the casino streamers and are they fun to watch? Or do you think that playing casino slots yourself is more fun?
I don't remember watching any of those casino streamers on YouTube. How do you campare the fun you get while playing the gamble yourself to when you watch others play. No way, it's more fun for me when I play  to when I watch people play even in a physical casino therefore streaming won't be if any differenc
Quote

While these streamers may earn a good amount of money through streaming, they sometimes may become inspirational to the gamblers which may lead the normal gamblers to gamble more or become addicted too in some cases.

Thoughts Huh

Constant watching of casino streamers can really have an effect on how engulfed a gambler could behave towards gambling. And for those that Amy get carried away the next thing is addiction which is nocturnally what these casino streamers intended as some of them are collaborators with these casinos .
1474  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which of this is plagiarism ? on: July 30, 2023, 11:30:38 PM
Let always give credit to whatever credit is due be it words or image if we are not the original owners or author.. For an image putting the source link underneath it  as you would so for copied words won't hurt you so why not quietly do it to avoid drama. If for any reason you can get a link to it, you can make it obvious in words indicating that the image isn't your original work that way people would be clarified while reading your post.

Let's strive together to prevent plagiarism in the forum in whatever form for only by this can we have and maintain quality content in the forum.
1475  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: July 30, 2023, 10:09:07 PM
I can say currently Manchester City is the only team we know they can have hope for the next Champions League title with Pep Guardiola because they are still in good form and they could stay stable and keep the main players they need for the next season. Also, Guardiola is improving the team and we can see even stronger Manchester City in the next Champions League season.

This credit you’re given to them can only be so because of their outstanding performance in the last season’s champions league competition. We don’t know how this upcoming season’s champions league is going to go well for them, but we can conclude now that they’ll go far and make it to the knockout stages. After that, their performance when the next season begins will determine how far they’ll go in the champions league or if they can still retain the title for the second time consecutively..
The champions league as the name indicates is not a farmer's league that we can easily assume that because a team outperformed in the previous season and won the title same event will reiterate itself, of course it has happened with the likes of Real Madrid having it back to back but it wasn't that easy and no one saw it coming either. City as sure to do so well next season but winning the title immediately again is what doesn't seem possible, if you take a critical look at the transfers of usual favorite teams in UCL like Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich it will scare you to agree that City can win the title again next season.
1476  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: who Want To Bet On 2024 USA elections? on: July 30, 2023, 09:42:33 PM
~snip~
Yes, with 500 to 1 I would place a $1 bet on Trump, for sure. Other than that, like 3.05 as it is now on most sites, no way. I think that the reason for so many people betting on Trump around the world is their local propaganda saying to them that "Biden is very unpopular" and stuff like that. They will lose their bets and they can thank their telly for that.

I don't think it will ever get to 500 to 1, I reckon about half of the voting people in the US are going to go for Trump. It seems like he has a massive following, at least similar to when he won.

In a way the whole prosecution against him kinda makes it more interesting for people, it's like a nice story that people want to be a part of.
Yes Biden from the series of challenging events that have characterised the Biden's administration in the international arena since it came to power depicts how unpopular Biden is in the literally sense of it. Trump's prosecutions explains very well how much of a threat he is to Biden in the 2024 USA election and that's why they want him out of the race by all means.  Majority of both Americans and none Americans would always bet and  vote for Trump as they see him as one that walks the talk during his time as American president both home and abroad.
1477  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gender in Gambling [differences between Women and Men in Gambling] on: July 30, 2023, 09:17:26 PM
When you talk about gambling, it seems that you are talking about the kind of irresponsible activity we sometimes see in clinical cases.

It is true that women are usually more reasonable in financial terms, especially in developing countries (in developed ones, it's true that they don't usually waste their money in alcohol, high bets etc. but they do purchasing expensive lotions and unnecessary fashion accessories), but gambling responsibly has nothing to do with respect to one's family.

BTW, I'm witnessing a generational change in this topic: more and more little girls are getting into sports in my country, especially football, so I foresee a greater female demand of sports bets in a few years, when they reach the legal gambling age.
here, it's a normal behavior (women betting on sports) especially now that the women's world cup event is taking place, i'm sure the majority of those involved in betting are women.  in Brazil, for example, you can often find women who are very good at playing football, they certainly don't just play football but follow soccer betting too, the culture and habits of a community really influence the behavior of women (similar to when you are in vegas or macau, sightings of female gamblers are common)
If women can be allowed to participate in sports football competition such as the world cup it then mean they should be allowed to support their teams they fan by also betting on them cashing fun and making money at same time. A lot of cultural apprenhensions are denying women the right to self determination of activities which men are freely allowed to take on and those regions where such cultures are prevailing it has hindered the ability of women to showcase their innate capabilities. These People needs to realize that  If participating in gambling is viewed as something that  shaming and irresponsible to the family then it should be projected on both gender and not to the female alone.
1478  Economy / Gambling discussion / A weird belief among some gamblers. on: July 29, 2023, 08:50:19 PM
There's this scene I witnessed today at a local sport betting house  and I found it very funny and unbelievably true at same time. A certain young man after making his predictions placed his bet and his betting slip was printed to him then another gambler in the house approached him and asked to make a rebet of his games for himself but I was shocked when the young man refused with the excuse that he doesn't share his predictions that sharing it will make him lose his bet. More like having his luck to win reduce or changed maybe because the person he shared his games with could be someone with a bad luck on that day.

Although I have heard of behaviors like this with some gamblers  but I never believe it not until I witnessed it myself today and it was weird to me imagining how you will get to lose your bet by allowing someone else rebet it. In all my years of gambling I believe that a game prediction that will play as predicted will definitely play not regarding the number of people that bet on same prediction.

So why this belief or do you think it could be true? Or is it one of those superstitious belief among gamblers?
Do you feel cool sharing your predictions with other people and how has the outcome been looking at all the times you have shared your predictions with others?
1479  Economy / Gambling / Re: Using ToS against users normal? on: July 29, 2023, 08:24:21 PM
Changing of terms and conditions without notifying the users or gamblers is normal with online gambling websites? Then when you did something wrong or about to withdraw your money they will tell you that you don't read their terms and conditions, and you start arguing with them until you decide to read the ToS again and you find out that it's different.

Some gambling websites consist of wicked owners that willingly plan to defraud their users using the ToS against them, or is this normal? Have such happened to anyone on this forum before?
If you find yourself with casinos that operates in such a debauchery manner with their ToS that's a red flag sign for you the gambler to abandon such online casinos site and look for a well reputable online casino. If you've got some cash in there find ways to withdraw it ASAP cause it's not only wrong for them to change ToS without prior notification to their clients but it's a subtle scheme of defrauding their customers.

A lot of these online casinos that behave this way often come into the market with outrageous bonuses just to attract more users to later trap them with obnoxious ToS unknown to users.
