1461  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoins price watch in btc terms or in usd? on: December 03, 2017, 12:27:02 PM
obviously in bitcoin terms because i am a bitcoin hodler Wink
when i trade with bitcoin and have everything in bitcoin terms i am making more profit on my bitcoins so after a while i will be hodling even more bitcoins.

imagine you have 1BTC and make 10% profit so you have 0.1BTC profit. bitcoin goes from 10K to 20K and your 0.1BTC goes from $1000 to $2000.
meanwhile if you invested 10K and got 10% profit you will have $1000. and when bitcoin goes from 10k to 20k you still have $1000.
1462  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bcash same wallet like btc? on: December 03, 2017, 12:18:52 PM
to this day bitcoin and bitcoin cash use the same address format and will always support it in case they add a new format. so if you have a private key to some bitcoin address you can use it for bitcoin cash. and yes you can use bitcoin wallets or tools like bitaddress.org to generate these keys and use them for BCH and BTC the same way.

but remember not to use it on both chains. meaning if you have a key only use it for either bitcoin or bitcoin cash not both.
1463  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which cryptocurrency do you use most? except Bitcoin on: December 03, 2017, 12:11:41 PM
have you checked out ByteBall? if you haven't then pay a visit to https://byteball.org and see how it works. it is a cool altcoin with a very interesting technology.
they also offer some rewards for the merchants who accept byteball which you can read more about it here: https://medium.com/byteball/byteball-cashback-program-9c717b8d3173
1464  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What best to do? on: December 03, 2017, 12:05:06 PM
check your browser settings, any kind of Internet Browser you are using it should have some section for saved password. use google search for help if you can not find it. you should be able to see what your saved password is.

or contact the support and they will guide you, it will be probably some sort of password reset using your email.
1465  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 2019 - the end of 90% altcoin? on: December 02, 2017, 02:44:20 PM
maybe not 90% but a lot of them will end in a couple of months, it won't even take a year. and it is nothing new. there has been lots of altcoins created nearly every day for the past couple of years and most of them are completely dead now.
there are coins that are listed on some shit-exchanges and they don't even have a blockchain. some of them have blocks which were mined 4 months ago.

i'd even go as far as calling it a natural thing, where something that is never used apart from speculation and pump and dump, eventually ends up dying.
1466  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Vertcoin doubled in December because of mining reward will halfed? on: December 02, 2017, 02:34:49 PM
I believe the price will still be twice in about 8 days?

well the pump which was started at least 30 days before you even started this topic could only push the price up to 90K satoshi (more or less) then it dropped hard like all pumps do and then you created this topic around 62k and now after another drop it is recovering back to 65k-ish

so, care to explain what makes you think that this coin is going to go to 130k in about a week?
1467  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Clones attack – another fork? on: December 02, 2017, 02:28:36 PM
The goal of the project is to make transactions extremely fast.
that is the publicly spoken goal.
the real goal is to make the developers rich when they either premine it or they run an ICO or simply pump and dump it.

Quote
The development of the Lightning Bitcoin project is conducted by a European team of anonymous developers.
anon. devs. can be a bad thing. i would be careful about downloading anything they release. it can simply contain all kinds of malware and they will be anonymous so you don't have anyone to even blame!
1468  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Development in Japan's bitcoin mining on: December 02, 2017, 02:19:25 PM
maybe bitcoin.com made a mistake in their "news reporting"! like these news sites always do and messed the numbers up. or maybe the numbers are what the electric company publicly releases. for example for home users. but nothing is stopping a major electricity user like a mining farm to make a special contract with this company and receive a big discount. that is what Chinese farms have been doing all these years anyways.
1469  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Too late for Bitcoin? on: December 02, 2017, 02:14:43 PM
when i started with bitcoin, it was after the Mt Gox scam and downfall and bitcoin was recovering from the $200 bottom. i asked the same  question and i even heard a lot of others say the same thing. bitcoin has gone up from $1 and even had its glory and by that time it was $200!

but i invested nonetheless and i held. now everything i bought back then (after ~2 years) is in 5400% profit! (that reminds me i have to update my personal message below my avatar Wink)
1470  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russia Will 'Never' Consider Bitcoin Legalization, Says Minister on: December 02, 2017, 02:04:26 PM
The best example of Russian attitude to cryptocurrencies would be today's announcement made by Aksakov. According to him, there might be a launch of a few ICOs within the framework of the government. A kind of an experiment. All under thorough observation.
Take this years' announcement by Putin, when he said they would try to launch a crypto-ruble. Really?..

are you sure you didn't misunderstand it and just hear the word ICO. because it seems like they are planning on adopting the blockchain technology and create a new coin for themselves not an ICO to raise funds!!!
and this "crypto-ruble" you are mentioning at the bottom is proving my point. that is the altcoin they have been working on to create and it has nothing to do with any ICO.
1471  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Can PIVX follow DASH? on: December 01, 2017, 12:32:55 PM
PIVX is one of those altcoins with a lot of potential to rise, it is also a good coin which doesn't have the Dash premine scam either.

but there are also issues that will make it much harder for it to reach the price of Dash. for example it is not yet listed on Poloniex and we know well  that Poloniex is the main source of pumped coins, any coin that goes there gets pumped hard and Dash is there.
the other thing that i can think of is the circulating supply which PIVX has 55 million but Dash has 7.7 million both according to coinmarketcap.com and that makes it even harder for any coin to rise much.
1472  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BTG (bitcoin gold) pump and dump , pump coming? on: December 01, 2017, 12:21:49 PM
bitcoin gold recently had a pump so don't get your hopes up for any kind of pump any time soon. it is keeping the price up pretty nicely which shows the dump part is also done.
the $370 which OP mentioned can be reached only when bitcoin price rises and BTG drops less than it should against bitcoin. which is possible and happens to most altcoins. that is partly how ETH went up.

the pump will come later and when it comes it won't be a tiny rise it will be a big one to 0.1BTC range like how bitcoin cash was pumped.
1473  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [NEWS] Coinbase hands over data to IRS on: December 01, 2017, 12:11:46 PM
Firstly, I think it is wrong for a service to just turn over customer details over to someone else, but I guess this is the danger of centralized parties. They can make you sign anything and do anything with your data with or without informing you.

there is nothing wrong with it. things like handing over personal information of customers and snooping around in personal affairs of people is like one of the amendments to the United States constitution Cheesy

and whoever thinks Coinbase started to hand over data to 3 letter agencies is a big idiot. they have been doing it all along. **cough** KAT **cough**
1474  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are You Easily Discouraged with Dips? on: December 01, 2017, 12:05:59 PM
these dips are the best thing that can happen to bitcoin for a lot of reasons. the biggest reason is the fact that it puts all the nonsense about bitcoin bubble to bed because a bubble would pop in cases like this when the price drops this hard (20%-30%) but instead bitcoin recovers and continues rising some more.
the other reason which is the obvious one is the fact that you can make a lot of profit during these dips and buy more bitcoin with the same amount of capital while others are selling with a panic about end of the word!
1475  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you taxed on Bitcoin? on: December 01, 2017, 11:52:09 AM
tax laws in my country are a little different and are not as bad as countries like US. but so far the government recognizes bitcoin as a currency but they have not said anything about taxes regarding bitcoin.
and so far whenever i bought bitcoin or even a couple times when i sold some, i used a peer to peer way not an exchange and there is no way of taxing that.
1476  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin will become the best worldwide cryptocurrency and digital payment system on: December 01, 2017, 11:43:31 AM
bitcoin won't become anything, it already is both a worldwide cryptocurrency and a payment system!!!

it will get adopted more though. and what is changing these days is that people are forgetting that bitcoin is meant to be a currency first and then an investment second. but because of the price rise everyone just thinks of bitcoin as purely an investment that they are going to dump as soon as they fear a tiny drop.
1477  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Etherium or Dash; which of this coin will reach $1000 @Jan 2018 on: November 30, 2017, 01:45:09 PM
generally i think neither of these can reach $1000 but both of them have had big pumps in the past which makes me not say that with absolute certainty!!

however if i had to choose between these two and say which one has a better chance of getting there i say Ethereum since it has stronger pumpers and the ICO market is still pretty hot these days and that is the driving force for ETH price anyways.
1478  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dash is rising on: November 30, 2017, 01:34:46 PM
I bet it's a top 3 coin by January 1st. I think it'll keep rising, Evolution, mining pressure and genuine usefulness of instant send.

it is going to have a tough time competing then!
it has 3-4 other altcoins to knock down and the are fierce competitors Cheesy

first there is bitcoin gold which is nearly at the same level of market cap as Dash before Dash pump and BTG dump. this is the easy one which it has already pushed down but it won't stay down for long.

second is Ripple which nearly has twice Dash market cap! Dash has to reach above $1000, nearly $1500 to securely take the 4th place!!

then there is bitcoin cash which has 4 times market cap of Dash. good luck pumping Dash 4 times to $2800 Cheesy

and final nail in the coffin is Ethereum which no altcoin can ever touch unless they also premine 72 million coins and pump their coins to this much. it has 7.4 times Dash market cap.
1479  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why there are too many? Bitcoin price, Altcoins, ICOs and Newbies on: November 30, 2017, 01:28:39 PM
these things have nothing to do with each other.

1. bitcoin price is always rising "so high" according to someone!

2. there is a lot of altcoins and ICOs because they are creating "money" and  the technology is completely open source and with a license that allows you to freely copy it and use it as you like. using it is also very easy. this attracts lots of lazy people who want to make "money" so they start copying things over and over.

3. there is always lots of newbies around in this forum. most of them are throwaway accounts spamming something useless, usually FUD. and some are newcomers who find out about bitcoin as it grows and come over here with their questions.
1480  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Recent dumping of bitcoin : how to take advantage of it on: November 30, 2017, 01:19:22 PM
that has always been how the market works. it is like taking steps. you take two steps forward and 1 step back. sometimes 5 forwards and 2 back. but as long as the back tracking is smaller than the upward movement, we have ourselves a rise. even if the drop seems big to some people!

and so far we have had rises apart from the time that Mt Gox large scale scam damaged bitcoin a lot.

the way you take advantage is that you speculate when the rise will come near its end and sell there to buy back in the dip. then as the drop starts you also start buying slowly back.
