1461  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to Identify Cryptocurrency Scams on: November 19, 2019, 06:16:23 AM
Detecting a scam is no longer a hard job for me. Sometimes, there are projects I will see and I wouldn't need anyone to tell me that they are scammers, I just see them and automatically I know that they are scammers. Some scammers are just so dumb and when you see them talk, they talk rubbish, unless you are someone without experience.

If you check some scam projects on this forum or other places, the kind of projects they post you wouldn't need anyone to tell you. And another way I easily tell scammers is through their team, I never fail to check out their team through their social handles , their activities can tell if they are real, and whether the account was created newly or not.
1462  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What type of Cryptocurrency is used in the Deep Web for transactions? on: November 18, 2019, 06:16:39 PM
I know that the deep web mainly uses cryptos as a means of transactions for people who want to buy things over there, but what type of cryptos are mainly used when making those transactions? It’s just a curious question I have in my mind.
Anyone that want to purchase anything or make use of the deep web will make use of the privacy coin more because they are the ones that can really give full privacy protection aside the other top coins that are decentralized like bitcoin, which anyone can also use the chip mixer if they don’t want the transaction seen at all to the public for them to even try tracing it.

For privacy coins, I think that Monero is still the most active one, people use Monero a lot for this purpose and that is why when it comes to the king of privacy coin, it is Monero, but I think that in the future, the government might want to go after some of these privacy coins when the regulation starts and coins like Monero and the rest may really go into extinction leaving us with ones that can regulate.
1463  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: My research for spam coins/tokens on: November 18, 2019, 04:01:07 PM
It will be very funny if I make my own long list which I even think that it will be more than this and the funny thing here is even that most of the project that you have listed here is not known to me. You have done a very great job to compile the list of scam projects according to the one that you have had experience with and I wish that we can all come up with our own list so that we can combine them and then publish it in other to protect new investors from also buying any token that has to do with them.

It is so sad that the year 2018 really mar the ICO market as the love of people and investors for ICO start with that year and right now, hardly would you find more investors again, most investor you would see is either going to buy form already existing projects or IEO platform alone.
1464  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Trade Bitcoin - AVOID "Get Rich Quick" Shit Coin Pump and Dump on: November 18, 2019, 12:11:32 PM
You got the whole idea of these shitcoin or pump and dump coin and I wonder why many people still don’t understand this and they keep giving them the chance to actually dupe them. It is the time that many people forget about some of these projects that keeps promising what that cannot offer and they keep getting money from people.

Bitcoin is still the safest coin to invest in and also trade. I think that the reason why many avoid bitcoin is because they are not well properly informed and they think because bitcoin is expensive, they really cannot buy or trade it not, but they don’t understand that they can still trade any part of bitcoin as they don’t need to buy a whole bitcoin before they trade or make money from it, so they go for some of these cheap and low quality project promising to give them exactly what bitcoin can offer them.
1465  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you think Gavin Andresen will make a comeback? on: November 18, 2019, 10:20:13 AM
He made a promise to retire and I think he is fulfilling his promise and if he is to come back based on his own personal decision, I think that it will be a blow to him, and also him not being a man of his word. It is just like the way satoshi disappeared, if he was not a man of his word, I am sure that he would have already long resurface but 10 years is still counting and he is still abiding by his policy, so as this man too will also do, except maybe the community feel that there is a strong reason for him to come back and that would be on a special request that he can live on.

There are other strong developers and I think that they have the power to be able to take over form where he actually stopped, so I am not sure that without him, their crypto space will not continue to grow stringer.
1466  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bobby lee predicts Bitcoin price to reach $1 Million in a Decade on: November 18, 2019, 07:00:49 AM
He's prediction make sense versus Mcafee's $1 million in 2020. In the expand of a decade a lot of events will occur, time to time the scarcity will really push Bitcoin's price as long as the demand will continue. Still its too early to judge its future because government pressure is inevitable.
Have we not got tired of listening to those people that are always trying to be popular by analyzing things that are not real and may never happen? I think you can see also yourself from record that shortly after your prediction, the value of bitcoin not yet crossed over to $9000, even though it was still struggling with staying there or not as at that time, but the most thing is that, the market direction is not going to go in line with your prediction of having bitcoin drop low to that specified value of yours again.

I think that after this tiny correction, the value of bitcoin might try to surge the last all time high of bitcoin by the year ending or at least early next year. This weekend, I can even say that I made money when the value of bitcoin rise back to $9000. When we are staying below $10k, I guess it might be too early to think about one million dollar levels.
1467  Economy / Economics / Re: ‘Bullish for Bitcoin’ — China Scraps Plans to Ban Cryptocurrency Mining on: November 17, 2019, 08:10:04 PM
Will this increase the price of Bitcoin or improve its decentralization? I think I prefer the latter, but I hope this doesn't make mining unprofitable in other part of the world due to cheap energy and things like that. This is the mining  decentralization
Before china came in to the cryptocurrency picture to start debating whether to ban it or not, there was high rate of cryptocurrency activities in china and during those times, china has about 60% to 70% of the mining power because of cheap labor, cheap machines and also because of their cheap energy and yet there are people who were still mining their coin in other parts of the country and making money at the same time china is also mining.

The market is big to accommodate everyone, and even if the president of china has scrapped the plan to ban mining which will surely make the mining rate to increase in china, I think that other miners in other countries will still be able to have a profitable mining just like it was before the ban.
1468  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin demand in economically volatile countries surges on: November 17, 2019, 04:28:04 PM

The high volumes of Hong Kong is a normal consequence that is caused by the Chinese government itself, they know very well that they had until recently a lot of prohibitions regarding Bitcoin and Crypto, now that CHINA is in the "Love" phase with Blockchain and bitcoin, to open the way to their cryptocurrency or stablecoin they are preparing the ground for them to use it and adopt their cryptocurrency.

China is not in love with bitcoin. It's in love with the idea of creating it's own coin. It still has currency controls and a complete ban on exchanges.

I think the high volumes of bitcoin buying in Hong Kong is down to people there wanting to get their money out in case they get invaded by China.
If they are not in love with bitcoin, it shows that they are not in love with cryptocurrency because bitcoin is the only true technology that really represent what cryptocurrency is, and that which they claim to want to create is something that is going to be similar to digital payment system and I think that people will not be accepting it that much because there are other existing ones.

If they want to create a real cryptocurrency, they should do it in the right way because any of these currencies must definitely have a tier with bitcoin. Any currency that cannot be paired with bitcoin should not be counted as cryptocurrency, because not everyone will want to use their fiat to purchase such coin for privacy purpose and if you see the additional benefits of bitcoin, the people of china will always take it over their own currency.
1469  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Harsh Reality About The Current ICO Project on: November 17, 2019, 03:20:45 PM
I feel cheated ... but the fact that every project that promises or claims tokens will eventually increase at a very high price is just nonsense ...
in a statement on the road map they promised to use project funds for further product development, but they were only trying to take advantage of the investors' black money ...
what they have to do is develop their product further, not just start doing it or say all the sweet promises ...

maybe it's one of the things they have to reconsider, if their project wants to be successful and the project product can be sold out in the market ...
I hope I'm not mistaken about this.
Lol, there is no need to complain. You should know already that this is the tactic that is being used by every business. I don't think anyone will start a business with the intention to fail unless they are scammers. Anyone who starts a business will always want to succeed and make grow above their competitors, that's how it is. So every project will always give promise to investors that they are going to do better than others, this is the way to get their interest and make them invest.

Imagine them saying that they are not sure if their project is going to be successful, lol, no investor will be ready to invest in a business where the team are unserious individuals without plans to grow. Sorry if the projects you participated in didn't work out, you should continue looking for other projects, that's how it is.
1470  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple CEO: As many as 99% of all cryptocurrencies will likely go to zero, on: November 17, 2019, 02:46:17 PM
Ripple CEO believe that the 99% of crypto-currency will go to zero as those coin has no use to solve any real life problem. And some coins have grown just because of hype in the market https://cointelegraph.com/news/ripple-ceo-only-1-of-todays-cryptocurrencies-will-survive .
That's the truth. I don't even have the time for all these altcoins any longer because they are mainly fake. I know for sure that they are not going to be worth anything later on. This time around I only focus on bitcoin and Ethereum and LTC (I don't invest much in ETH and LTC, about 30% or less goes for the two and the remaining for BTC).

I might even stop investing in LTC soon, I no longer want to stress myself with all these altcoins because I hardly gain anything from them, more than 90% of what I have achieved in the cryptocurrency community is from Bitcoin and I want to put more focus on it.
1471  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why only 6.2 percent of American citizens own Bitcoin? on: November 17, 2019, 01:36:29 PM
I don't know how many people have adopted cryptocurrency so far, but I'm not really expecting like everyone to adopt it. I just see it mainly as a payment method and it's not a must that everyone will adopt it, it's a matter of choice. People are free to make use of whatever they like; whether they want to make use of any thing they want to use, whether cryptocurrency or fiat. I do know people that are making use of cryptocurrency for different purposes, some investment and some for transaction. There are lots of them that makes use of cryptocurrency and you might not know.

Likely it's a convenience issue. Americans love their credit cards and loans! I doubt they haven't heard it yet, most major network has made at least one story about Bitcoin.
That's true. Those I know prefer to make use of PayPal and when you mention Bitcoin they seem not to be interested in it. Maybe because it is volatile. Still their choice. Libra would have worked with PayPal I guess, if it was successful.
1472  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is it Possible Stellar Lumens/XLM Reach $100 on: November 16, 2019, 01:58:32 PM
Even $ 1 its still impossible for stellar to reach this price  Grin, its possible when stellar burned 90 percent of total supply of this coin..
Lol, are you trying to mock their project or what? Because I dint see the reason why they have to burn their token for them to have a value that is going to be up to $1. Stellar has a very good chain and a working product, and I believe that when some of these coins that are in the market dies completely, more attention will be paid to solid project which stellar will be among those project that people will pay attention to its real working case.

The problem is actually not with these projects, I mean some of these quality top projects, but the problem lies with the users who are not even looking at making use of their real working case, but using these coins as digital asset or speculation in other to benefit financially from them and not technology benefits.
1473  Economy / Economics / Re: Cryptocurrency usage will boost economy or make it worst ? on: November 16, 2019, 09:01:32 AM
What if all those big corporates and businesses starts using crypto as a mode of payment just to avoid tax which will cause a direct loss to the government which uses tax for the betterment of the country. This might not affect corrupt countries as it doesn't matter because tax money goes to politician's coffers but what about developed nations?
Is that even possible ? If that's possible the government will ban cryptocurrencies for good and anyone caught using crypto assets will serve serious punishments, especially companies that are caught using it will face serious issues. So, I don't think any of them would like to try such a thing. But, I know for sure that if any company is making use of cryptocurrency they are still going to be paying tax while they are making use of it.

Both, some people gain millions from BTC and other Crypto investments, and some of people lost everything they had on the ICO bubble. So IMO it can make economy better and worse Smiley
I don't know if it does have any impact on our economy. Maybe when in a particular country and there are lots of investors holding crypto assets and making profits, if they withdraw it to their country bank it might in some way boost the economy. I don't know if this is right or not.
1474  Economy / Economics / Re: Where's my free money? on: November 16, 2019, 08:07:19 AM
I was promised like 250k by McAfee in BTC value.

When's the price gonna skyrocket like the last 8 times? Tell me plz time travelers.
Lol, I also got into bitcoin as a free money in whole. Yes, I was misguided about bitcoin mining as a free money. I didn't know about bitcoin in 2010, I only got to know of it in late 2013 and I didn't get in immediately, till around 2014. When I started making use of it, it wasn't for buying anything, I only used it to accept payment and as time goes on I started to develop an interest and began to save some part of my money in it. I did benefit from the 2017 bull run but what I got wasn't much. If I had Bitcoin in 2010 I don't think I would use it in buying anything, I will also be saving it just like I did when I started, although I didn't have much.

This time around I has also been doing the same thing, though I'm not expecting the bull run to come anytime soon. I have seen people (some economists) that claimed there will no longer be bull run. Maybe they are doing that to make people lose interest, but I no longer place my focus there because there are other methods I use to earn BTC, and they are working for me.
1475  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The CEO of Twitter held a Bitcoin Meetup in Nigeria! on: November 16, 2019, 06:10:45 AM
Wow, Africa is really taking a very new dimension in the cryptocurrency usage too and I am quite surprise that bitcoin has gone so wide to the extent of being used in Nigeria too, which is the sign that bitcoin is gradually tending towards becoming the global currency of the world that we have all believed it will be one day without even getting any enforcement from the government or any sort of implementation.

Twitter would really be a very useful place to actually promote bitcoin if they can all come together to create awareness for it and this could really spark a bull run for bitcoin when they start twitter campaign. I wish that we could get a gist of what was being discussed in the meeting to see if it is typically for bitcoin or against bitcoin.
1476  Economy / Speculation / Re: What Could Make Bitcoin Drop To $5? on: November 16, 2019, 05:40:56 AM
I was just wondering if it is possible. What event or series of events could crash the price of Bitcoin to $5? What will you do if that happens?
It is only when the government of the world jointly declares war on bitcoin that I can assume that such thing will happen which I absolutely doubt.

Bitcoin has been of immense help to a lot of countries which I don’t see any reason to why they should dump it now, so that will make it impossible for them to have a joint agreement about it, and if there is any other factor that I am not thinking of makes that to happen, I think what I will do when I see such thing is to first of all take the risk of buying as much as I can buy hoping that the story will change later In the future so that when it eventually goes back to the usual price before after the fud must have been over, I can get that opportunity of being a billionaire through it back like people of 2010 lol.
1477  Economy / Speculation / Re: Don't react to the fluctuations on: November 15, 2019, 06:40:32 PM
We have been doing same mistakes again and again that's by reacting to the market fluctuations as either we tend to start buying like there is no tomorrow when we see pump or else panic and empty our coffers for slightest  dump and the reason I am suggesting you all to stop reacting is for the fact that the bitcoin market is going through quick pump and dump from past 4 or 5 days so it will prove fatal if we sell out or buy at this point of time. Just take some time and look observe the trend for week or so before jumping into any conclusion.

Yes, I agree with you, we should not easily panic in seeing crypto price fluctuations. at least we wait for price developments for a week or two. then just make a decision to buy and sell. and in my opinion the people who easily panic are beginners. a crypto trader and investor who hasn't been panic for a long time. they can speculate well and smart in taking every opportunity for price fluctuations.
I think that people are getting impatient as it has been long that people saw any surprise that will make them get encouraged again about participating more in cryptocurrency investment or usage and much of this discouragement is coming from the altcoin section because most of them has really watched what they have built gone down the drain.

Imagine someone out of patient, thinking that his coin will continue to grow from $15k suddenly loose it now to a value that is just a little bit above $500, what do you expect the person to do in new investment, they will always panic as the crash of any coin before it would do the same , and that is why you see that many people that have investment in bitcoin always panic at a point so that what happened in 2017 will not repeat itself again.
1478  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Alright, I made it obvious this time on: November 15, 2019, 05:06:20 PM
The article is too complicated and has too much in-depth knowledge.  But it is recognized that Bitcoin will sideway long-term then continue to go up slowly.  You can share it with your knowledge.  Describe in a way that is easier to understand and simpler for us to discuss.
If it shows that bitcoin will sideways, is that not a good news, because this period off sideways is when we call bitcoin consolidation, and if the case is to be like it was in the past before the last all-time high, it was during bitcoin consolidation that many of these altcoins started increasing in value too and that is usually the time that we have been waiting for altcoin season to start.

During the time that bitcoin is going sideways, there is usually no much growth of bitcoin, because it has giving chance to altcoin to start increasing, and I hope that when that time comes also, it will not waste all the opportunity bitcoin has been giving because it still very much on the interest of investors too to buy altcoins that will be showing sign of increase them for them to get to their all-time high too.
1479  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think that cryptos such as Bitcoin would be mainstream? on: November 15, 2019, 09:06:45 AM
I was just wondering if one day it would be possible for cryptos such as Bitcoin (BTC) OR Ethereum (ETC) to become mainstream one day for people to use for day to day transactions on a daily basis. Because I heard that the people in Zimbabwe with their economic difficulties use cryptocurrencies as a means of trade.

Would the world adopt cryptocurrency as a means of transaction, what do you guys think?
We have every possibility that one day people will eventually be using just these two coins alone for their transaction. We might still be in that era where every government, every country and every companies wants to come up with their own cryptocurrency just like in the case of Zimbabwe, and also has we have seen thousands of altcoins in the market in the case of companies, but even at that, the choice of people is still very much more on these two coins.

These two coins are still the best and still the most used coin in the market, they have stringer community more than every other coins you see, so overtime, everyone would learnt to see that bitcoin and Ethereum is the main coin that is fit to be used as a global currency which they will drop their own personal interest to accept this.
1480  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: John McAfee Releasing an ‘Epstein Didn’t Kill Himself’ Token on: November 12, 2019, 12:18:37 PM
These guys are very strong business men and they have lots of experience and marketing strategy in life, and when he was making all those statement of bitcoin reaching certain amount of value in future and promising to eat his own dick if it does not, he knew that this statement was going to attract lots of people and lots of supporter to him, since we virtually don’t have anyone that is a cryptocurrency believer that does not love bitcoin, and which is why he chose to come from that angle of bitcoin, but you see that he really was playing his game very well against his plan to launch his dex and the awareness he has created down already may really make him to be successful in the launch of his exchange and get lots off volume on it. Maybe this will be the first dex that will really attract lots of volume.
