14681  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The safest wallet? on: September 08, 2016, 10:58:31 AM
The safest wallets are clearly the paper wallet and the hardware wallet.
But I want to bring into attention another option which this thread didn't cover: cloud storage. It's not the safest thing on earth, but it's not bad either if you use it well.

You get a cloud storage account. Dropbox is everybody's choice, but I prefer TresorIt because they claim everything is encrypted and decrypted by your client and they cannot see your files.
Make a file from your private key (and HD seed), name it "my resume", "my first letter to my fiance" or whatever harmless name you can think of, archive it with 7-zip and a long AES-256 password and put it on the storage.
It may be a good solution if you are afraid you lose the paper wallets.
14682  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: lost my all money on BITSLER on: September 07, 2016, 03:24:23 PM
no dude i fucking lose all the time i cant stop gambling whenever i get money i go gamble

Try to not keep money at hand. Give it to somebody you trust, good friend or family.
Gamble for a while only with free/faucet money. It will show you over time that gambling is a way to spend time and money. It's supposed to be entertainment, not a way of living. And certainly not a way to earn money.

1.1BTC is not a fortune. Get over it. It's good that you realize now you did something wrong, it can lead to a cure.
As somebody else said: find a way to get busy. Computer games, movies/TV shows, fishing, some sport, anything is good. Try to make (more) friends and go out. Over time you'll clear your mind.
14683  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can someone really explain which coins are truly anonymous? on: September 07, 2016, 01:50:48 PM
...

This was a good read, thank you.
Just I am not sure, this is how all Cryptonote coins work, or only Monero? Or it is the RingCT they want(ed) to implement lately in Monero?
However, it sounds good.
14684  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can someone really explain which coins are truly anonymous? on: September 07, 2016, 11:36:14 AM
Imho the Cryptonote coins are the closest ones to anonymous nowadays. There's Monero and many more.
Afaik they do the mixing using random other nodes from the network, so the chance they are compromised is slim.
Just you have to set in your transaction a high enough mixin. Afaik Monero enforces now at least 3, I don't know about others.

For Dash afaik you have to trust the masternodes that do your mixing are cont compromised.
For Bitcoin mixers you have to trust the mixer and I heard discussions that mixing too big amounts is not really possible / untraceable.
And there are other coins I don't know of.

Now, I just have some ideas on how these coins work, you should really check on the coin's ANN thread for more detailed and better explanation.

Also it doesn't matter which is 100% anonymous if your OS is tracking you. So there are many more things to add up to achieve 100% anon.
14685  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] DigitalNote XDN privacy, untraceable, blockchain deposits, Messages 2.0 on: September 07, 2016, 11:21:38 AM
XDN would have been a way better bet for Darkmarket adoption vs XMR. It already has a gui wallet and the encrypted msging from the wallet would eliminate the need for PGP software. Its just nobody really knows about XDN yet. that needs to change asap

XDN has made a big marketing mistake: it changed its name and main post too many times.
I didn't follow too closely what happened here, but not long ago I tried to find some info (alive mining pools) and it was quite a challenge.
I found only one alive mining pool. That doesn't look too healthy for a coin... And quite some are still against merged mining I see...
Merged mining is great for the network, but Dogecoin has shown that it may bring the price even lower..

All in all there's quite some work to do to get people into this and make the price rise again and I don't know how.. Good luck though.
14686  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: HELP I Think I Lost My Bitcoins! on: September 07, 2016, 11:02:06 AM
altcoinhosting gave a pretty clear view of your situation.
For safety reasons the wallets use more than one address and you need the private key the other address too.

The only way you can recover your money is to try to recover whatever you can from your old wallet.dat, which may still be somewhere on the HDD.
But since it's only 0.03931807BTC, it may be cheaper to just buy those coins... sorry...

Hi OP, do you need Romanian translation?
I suddenly got some free time and could do this.

May be required by the Omicron OP Fella, but I think that now takes things yet the Omicron. Do you come from Romania ..?? , may you have a very good thing for the skills that you have. How long can you translate something into Romanian words ..??

Gladimor was online, was discussing here, but he either missed my post, either didn't bother...

Your question "How long can you translate something into Romanian words" doesn't make much sense though... it clearly depends on how big is that something and how much free time do I have. The offered price is also a factor. Do you have some specific job you'd like to discuss of?
14688  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: HELP I Think I Lost My Bitcoins! on: September 07, 2016, 09:39:44 AM
Can you please give more details, at least the address? The Bitcoin transactions can be easily tracked.
Also the type of wallet you used could help.

You should have kept the wallet file though, it would have made the things much easier...
14689  Economy / Economics / Re: Are Bitcoin lovers in their own bubble? on: September 07, 2016, 09:27:12 AM
Maybe, Bitcoins won't get accepted. Or it is the beginning of the end for Bitcoins. But since we are in a bitcoin oriented forum, we are just echo chambering one another because we love bitcoins and we want to see it rise in value so we can profit?

Just playing the devil's advocate.  Grin

Your question is very good. I was thinking on this from time to time too (I am quite a pessimistic person from time to time...).
I've seen quite a lot of educated people that reject Bitcoin from start, like they'd be some in-game coins with no use and no value.
The governments clearly don't like Bitcoin (if they understand it at all), since it cannot inflated/deflated in the way they do with local currencies.

But I've seen some hope. Banks and businesses started to study how to use the blockchain. The real world use should keep the blockchain and Bitcoin alive and with a great value. But it depends on the scale of this use on long term...
14690  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: List of Best Campaign Managers in BCT (09/6/2016) on: September 07, 2016, 09:18:08 AM
Thanks for listing me here. It feels great to hear compliments from guys out here. This will certainly help me in getting better and improve in my campaign managing style.

There are some suggestions that I want to give: -

1) Add poll to the thread. In that way it will make easier to those to vote for their favourite campaign managers and will also help users who are seeking for a campaign mannager to handle their signature campaign.

2) As SFR10 suggested,I also think that you should put other campaign managers as well like ajarsalede just recently started his service and grtthegreat also has his service available now.

3) Adding a TipJar  Smiley. Most of the users admire the work behind these kind of thread. Its upto you though if you want to add it or not  Cheesy

I think that a poll could hurt. Not all campaign managers are loved and making new accounts only to vote is easy.
Adding as many as possible campaign managers, good and bad too could help especially the newer ones.
Good luck with this, you'll need it, because sooner or later people will start to argue over this or that manager.
14691  Economy / Speculation / Re: 1 BTC = 100.000 to 1 million is a possibility in 2035 on: September 07, 2016, 09:11:04 AM
I'm curious what will happen to Bitcoin after the next halvings, especially the last one.
There's a chance that miners will leave the network leaving Bitcoin crumble to dust and there's a chance that only the transaction fees will cover the fiat cost of mining plus some benefits.
The range is pretty wide and the truth is always in the middle.
OP is correct. Any amount is a possibility in 2035, from 0 to any big number we can imagine.
14692  Economy / Reputation / Re: I want to make a group against foolish, poor knowledge campaign manager, join it. on: September 07, 2016, 09:04:18 AM
Lakisis made a comment related to my application at SafeDice campaign (here), so I think that correct answer is SFR10, the campaign manager at SafeDice.
I advised him to keep it nice, but he seems to be too angry to do the right thing.
Quite shame, I doubt that any campaign manager would like him around after this story.

14694  Economy / Services / Re: SafeDICE Signature Campaign - Earn up to 0.025 BTC per week - [OPEN] on: September 06, 2016, 06:09:54 PM
Hi SFR10, I am thinking to join this campaign if you would accept me.
But I would prefer an answer before changing my signature and (more important) my avatar. I hope that's not an issue.
Thank you.
if you are novel writer and story writer then you can join this campaign without any issue , because this campaign manager need 8 or 10 liner post writer there a lot of member are going to left this campaign .

I don't think that attacking him will get you anywhere.
I have longer posts and shorter posts, I'll leave SFR10 to decide if I fit to this campaign or not.

I advice you be nice with the campaign managers, because sooner or later you may need them get you into another campaign.
Nice and friendly way to discuss gives you better odds on the long term.

I came to see if you've put yourself onto the list.
You didn't. And I'm glad to see that. After the last.. problems we had, it makes me think that you're a better person than I first thought.
Maybe I have a too pessimistic view on people...

And now on the subject. yahoo also managed the XAUR twitter campaign and signature campaign and did a great job there too. You can add them to his resumé  Wink

The price is rising, I expect the difficulty follow the trend.
I somehow fear that my pick is too small, but we will see what the future holds for us.

You can keep the final 0.075 btc and the bonus let the other guys get it.

You are a nice guy, as usual Smiley

ps I will leave signature in place until Sept 8th as a gift to you and coinsbank

I guess that I'll leave the signature for a while too, maybe until I'll find another good campaign. And this may take a while since I'm not much active these days....

Many thanks Bit-X (Coinsbank) and Marco for this campaign.
