How much does it cost to run such a vps cluster?

Varries not all are equal.  By now most are not efficient.
14702  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Help! Nothing works anymore! on: July 21, 2013, 05:46:34 PM
So I have been mining a few months now. First GPUs, then a a few BFL FPGAs, and now I have 18 USB ASICs. Everything seemed fine until the USBs. One PC refuses to work with them (they show up in windows, but CGminer will not ever show them). The other PC was working fine with them. After restarting CGminer one day, now it just starts and says CGMINER.EXE has stopped working. I can't get anythign to work now. I tried another PC, and nothing seems to work on it either (CGMINER wont start). I have reinstalled it, I tried BFGminer, I tried Bitminter, nothing seems to work.

Bitminter says port probe error or something like that.

I installed the BFL drivers (which did work, now they dont seem to either), and I installed the ASIC USB driver, all using Zadig or whatever its called.

Any ideas? Please help the noob!!!  Smiley

Can you go back to a restore date?

Thank you guys!

Use multiples of 200k for sieve size with HP5. One of the internal loops goes over 200k elements. If there's a small bug there somewhere, it might crash when sieve size is not a multiple of 200k.

Thanks for that info!

Sorry for such a newb question.  What is command to change sieve size?  I didn't see config file for it.

in primecoin.conf add "sievesize=...."

Maybe im nuts... but can u tell me where to find primecoin.conf.  Sorry again for taking up space in forum.

14711  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why do the mods allow accounts to be bought and sold? on: July 21, 2013, 03:12:35 PM
The only realistic reason for someone to purchase an account would be to scam others, period.
I considered buying accounts to rent the signatures.
I haven't done it yet because I don't think it's lucrative enough, but it might make sense anyway.

We are skipping over the real issue here, the complicit nature of the mods to allow the scams, extortion, blackmailing and theft's to continue.

We know mods don't want it to happen.  Unfortunately some people just are not good people ... simple as that.  With coin purchases escrow is important.  Escrow.... escrow.... escrow.

I think miners want soon.   But i don't know if Gox's priority is new ATM.
14713  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: bad Block Erupter? on: July 21, 2013, 02:55:42 PM
My neighbour has a FLIR camera, when I get my Erupters I will ask him for a picture or two and post them here.

Please do!  Would be cool just to see this image when hashing away.

Personally i have had good luck with ASrock extreme 6.  There is a extreme 4 version to.

Only warning do some math on electricity costs before investing in lots of GPU rigs you would be surprised how much electricity they can eat up.

Will need a new generation of PSUs for this, no one has beefy 5V rails that get even close to this.

My power bill does not want more beefy psu Sad
14717  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Which USB hub to use with Block Erupters or K1? A List. on: July 21, 2013, 11:41:39 AM
Thanks for testing out the new Anker Canary.  I'm sad to see they made it smaller and lost a port. Was afraid that last port would be just charging.
