You know, it seems logical to see the full-strength lineup last night but I made my picks strictly based on how I felt Pep's always approached games. He likes to tinker, he likes to rest players, and he likes to rotate. How many times in seasons past have we felt how frustrating he's been not using players playing well and seemingly having favourites?

So I'm down a point, and because I thought I knew Pep too well.

That Bald tinker is something else entirely, my decision on both to start was simply because they're short on firepower De Bruyne, Grealish, Kovacic and Stones, just like some have already pointed out too.

Bald thinker was supposed to rest Alvarez and put Doku on the wide after his outstanding performance against West Ham, and Foden in the centre, but Pep can't be trusted. If he says yes, simply do the opposite.

I had no idea Gvardiol got injured, so I was surprised to see him on the bench.

Have those mentioned users ever made any comments about the discussion going about them?

Possibly they can give the best possible explanation for this than others or members from the local boards at least. Or else there is something as OP accused. Smiley

No, they do not owe anyone an explanation because this is all speculation, and most of the merits received are from high-ranking members from his locale and the English board.

I'm not sure if Op posted this because he values the merit system or because he wants to eliminate competition, as both accounts he posted applied for the same signature campaign he did.  Cool

Oh, dear. It was an excellent match day for me. I never thought I would get so many close results. The only failure was the AC Milan vs. New Castle draw. The majority of us were expecting AC Milan to win the match. Even though my prediction was for AC Milan, I did not stake any point in this match. I did not have enough time to read all these things before I joined

I put a lot of faith in AC Milan with my 4 points out of ten. I initially went with the entire 10 points to gain 23 points if they win before reducing it to 4 points. They dominated the game but couldn't score, they had the game in hand and threw away the entire point. I'm sitting at zero points, and I'm hoping Inter and Napoli can both win to boost my confidence.

Quote
so I still did not understand why we were using a Google form for the points while Superbru was already doing it for us. Is it just for odd-based prediction?

Superbru does not offer odd-based prediction and the google form is only for odd based prediction.

Quote
Moreover, where can I see the leaderboard? Does it mean the odd-based leaderboard and Superbru leaderboard will be different? My standing on Superbru is at four today, but I don't know my place on the odd-based leaderboard. Could anyone help?

Yes different Leaderboards and the odd based-prediction will be available after the first group stage round since the calculations are done manually

It is horrible that I was able to collect only 30 points for Gw5. Many of my players wasn't in the starting eleven this week and I lost so many points as I was able to get rid of Stones new who was in my substitutes. I would have still been the leader if I started the season with another player instead of Stones. And my budget would have been much more relieved. I will transfer another forward after getting rid of Jackson next week. I'm open for suggestions about this topic. Smiley

Jackson is only one yellow card away from suspension. GET Alvarez for your piece of mind; he's in the best shape of his life right now, and with KDB and Kovasic out, he'll always play behind Halaand; he's the team's best creator right now. I might also get him.

You have to be grateful to me, because i put a RISK answer in the last question, putting atletico madrid to win.  Grin

I really hope to ended up winning, the people know im a first division guy.

About line ups from Pep.... never expect anything, he changes everytime.

Nah! You belong to the Division two, you're not an elite club, getting promoted to the Div 1 through playoffs doesn't give you that status yet.  Grin I only need Manchester united not to be more ass tomorrow to equalize

Real Madrid - Atletico Madrid game is a 50-50 match there no favourite.
1487  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Will Minning get scrapped on: September 19, 2023, 08:55:51 PM
So to my opinion, checking the hash rates to come minning might not be scrapped but miners will be forced out of the game which is inevitable unless miners form a get together  creating a larger   pool of miners in which all work together to share the reward for minning a block.

However most miners will still drop out of the game because the reward reaching each miners will be very low compared to all effort put into .

Not really, however it could cause problems for certain miners if the price of BTC after the next halving falls below a minimum of $45-50k, forcing most of them to sell their HODLs or dilute shares in order to stay in the game.

As the hashrate increases, so does the price of BTC, therefore miners will continue to earn unless something unexpected happens, as I explained.

The fear of miners will be if the government passes mining tax and the price of electricity also go up.

Ps: Op don't post duplicate threads, if you must post in the local board after posting on the English board it must be in Pidgin.

One point down for me after the lineup was announced

I knew that Haaland is going to start alongside Foden for sure but I forgot that Pep loves to play Alvarez behind Haaland so I thought he wouldnt start today turned out to be a mistake on picking that option. This could have been a good start for me but I blew it oh well 6 more questions with different answers so I still have a good chance ( or atleast I hope so  Roll Eyes )

I'm also down! I spent the entire day listening to Pep's pre-match press conference only to hear him spew nonsense and do the opposite; he plainly stated that Alvarez needed some break after the international games and the league game, only to start him tonight. I wasn't expecting him to go with his best lineups against Redstar. Bayern must score two goals tomorrow to put me back to track.  If I lose this round both of us are out.   Grin

Yes, Nunez. Yes, I know. Horrible week, completely my fault. Can;t believe we had goals flowing out of every corner but I scored lower than the average. I stare at all of you above me with envy.

Still delaying on Salah as budget doesn't allow but have moved Marsch out for Mbeumo. So creative huh?

Don't ever become a manager! Why in the name of Jesus Christ is Nunez still in your team?  Grin

In case you didn't hear, Rico Henry tore his ACL and is out for the rest of the season. so if you still have him then get him out now. It is even worse than having Kevin de Bruyne.

Early transfer: Henry to Schar!

ACL is the new Hamstring this season. Crazy

New article is up:
https://sportsbet.io/sports/soccer/news/bitcointalk-sports-fanatics-league-round-12-recap

Give it a read and then igebotz can start complaining he did not get enough media time  Grin

Bad boys get the media - at least I got some praise in the article for the first time this season so I won't complain, I'm more focused on the questions, which were a lot easier when I checked them out yesterday and became extremely difficult when I tried to put in the answers today, I've spent my entire day waiting for the DOTA questions and I'm not even sure of the answers yet.

My relegation is on the line, and I'm not confident in my picks for the first time all season. But I'm certain I'll remain in Division 1.
1491  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: September 19, 2023, 04:38:42 PM
Nah, I messed it up. Our bet is Chelsea in the top 4 - but you ain't getting that one correct either Grin

Nah! Too far from done, we play less games than the other Top 6 clubs playing European football, therefore failing to make the Top 4 would be a nightmare. This was my thought before placing the wager, but things aren't looking good, although there is yet hope for a rebound.

Wenger started his U-25 project when Arsenal was struggling for money, and he had fantastic results with that team on really small budgets.
People made fun of these teams and called them 'nearly there's' but they overachieved almost every season.

Boehly and his team spent an incredible amount of money on talent and are nowhere near the results that Wenger had.

The U21 project is always for teams with small transfer budgets, so I'm not sure why we're doing it when we're one of the richest clubs in the world with no debt. The U25 project takes time and most of the time it doesn't work out at all. We would have been fighting for the league if Abramovich was still around.
1492  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: [Edu] Bitcoin Wallet UTXO and Consolidation on: September 19, 2023, 08:35:04 AM
Great explanation Charles! He dusted everything in a lame man language, that should be helpful and if you have further questions, don't hesitate to ask.

I went through it and I should say this is very helpful indeed. However,  the words SATS - I guess it's satoshi and if its not you can correct me but you should have keys to define your short acronyms because of we beginners as we might find it hard to comprehend with all the acronym .

You're right, Sats stands for Satoshi and Sats is the smallest meansure of Bitcoin;

1Sat = 0.00000001 BTC

1Million Sats = 1BTC

I'm not sure any of us has up to 1BTC yet, what we have in our wallets are fraction of Bitcoin (Sats).

The 40,000 Sats in my Op is equal to $10.68 worth of BTC. I didn't want to use the dollar sign as a Bitcoiner.
1493  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: [Edu] Bitcoin Wallet UTXO and Consolidation on: September 18, 2023, 09:29:38 PM
Op this term UTXO is not found in the wallet I use so I am not familiar with whole discussion and di way u take explain is not really clear for newbies and non-technical wallet users to participate in the thread. And I don't think the UTXO stuff happens in Electrum wallet because I have not seen such feature in Electrum wallet when I send bitcoin. And this can be discussed by those who use Sparrow wallet and other wallets that has the features. And if it was in Electrum, I would have gotten an idea in it. But from the small knowledge acquire wallet, transaction fee increase base on the input and outputs which Charles-Tim as said. The input which is the sending transaction and the output which has two recipients. One for the destination address and the other return back the send address as changed.  And that also cause di increase of the transaction fee.

The term "UTXO" stands for "unspent transactions output". You have unspent transactions output (UTXO) in your wallet for every coin received; not all mobile wallets show you how many UTXO (dust) you have in your wallet, but they are there. The more UTXOs you have, the more fees you must pay to withdraw those coins. Furthermore, some hardware wallets are unable to sign transactions containing an excessive number of UTXOs.

I'm at a loss for words, but I hope this helps.
1494  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: [Edu] Bitcoin Wallet UTXO and Consolidation on: September 18, 2023, 06:10:00 PM
Also I don’t see it logical to have left those chunks there with equal sats without consolidating them until when the pool get congested or when you need to use almost all of it, probably because of DCAing?

DCA savings and signature payment could probably give you that but in my case I was only using it to explain a perfect situation.

If you have 5 Bitcoin chunks (3000 Sats, 3000 Sats, 3000 Sats, 3000 Sats, 3000 Sats) and wish to spend 13000 Sats from your balance, how do you utilise coin control to freeze part of these UTXOs since you need 98% of the overall balance?
On Sparrow wallet GUI, click on 'UTXO' at the left side, you will see the UTXOs individually. Click on any UTXO that you want to freeze and the image below will appear:

Using this to freeze the UTXOs that you want to freeze.

No Charles coin control will not work in the scenario I gave, I guess you didn't understand my question and I wasn't asking you to teach me coin control. Zaguru12 gave the perfect answer.
1495  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: [Edu] Bitcoin Wallet UTXO and Consolidation on: September 18, 2023, 01:13:13 PM
If the number of UTXOs are much and maybe the wallet keeps selecting just too many for every transaction before you consolidate then you can use the coin control feature to lock some certain address from spending and probably use only two addresses to be spending from before consolidation

It wouldn't make any difference will it? I don't think so
That is one of the advantages of coin control. Instead of wasting money on fee by spending UTXOs that are small, you can easily use coin control to freeze the UTXOs that are small. You can instead use coin control to only select the UTXOs to spend from anytime you want to make transaction.

Coin control is generally used for coin management in order to maintain privacy. Keeping KYCed Bitcoin separate from non-KYCed Bitcoin in your wallet. Allows you to spend any coin you wish, as not everyone wants to spend non-KYCed Bitcoin purchased on DEXs.

I was unable to use https://jochen-hoenicke.de to check it because it is representing the congestion period that you are referring to with lower fee, I mean when I set it to a year. But I did not see went up to 700 sat/vbyte around the time.

This link led me to a wall.

Pools are live!
It's great to be back! I sent in my superbru and google form selections. I love that part of the pool, wish someone would come out with that format for a new tounument, I remember how the BSFL was created and it was similar to something like this, I believe if the Pool B gets more attention it will become an independent pool one day or soon. I went with only three teams, hoping to gain 22 points in return for my ten points. (For the time being, the teams are being kept hidden.)

Dope google form @buwaytress

You must transfer Isak out as soon as possible because he will be getting fewer minutes in the EPL with CL football around the corner.
Isak out
Jackson out
Ramsdale out

This will cost you -8 hits + 1FT if your balance is flexible for incomings, otherwise you will most likely go above -8 hits to make it happen. It's best to avoid Arsenal's goalkeepers because both will be regularly rotated.

I'm seeing it will be really hard without Haaland so I'm slowly planning to incorporate him into my team. Still keeping Salah though, Odegaard will be a sure victim of my new strategy but 1 more player will have to go as well. Looks like it will be Rashford, although I feel I'll regret that at some point in the season.

There's no way you'd make it through the FPL without Halaand; he's the only player who would never go 5 games without scoring in 3 or 4. Salah as captain is not a bad option, but we've seen him go 5 games without a goal far too frequently. How do you intend to integrate both players currently without suffering significant hits or activating WC?

A few months ago, network fees surged to 30,000 3000 sats/vbs and higher, and this could happen again.
The fee rate for high priority did not go up to 700 sat/vbyte if I can recall correctly.

Sure the the high priority blocks didn't exceed that amount?

Like I said, his been a worst investment for me, haven’t made even avargeage points from him since he got on my team, Watkins even was a more better option and I did transfer him out to get Isak in. I guess I’ll just have to leak my wounds and see him out. Still have to contemplate on that over the week though.

You must transfer Isak out as soon as possible because he will be getting fewer minutes in the EPL with CL football around the corner. Wilson will start the majority of the EPL games from now on.

At this moment, Aston Villa Diaby is a must-have.

Edit: oh Aston villa Europa league games makes it impossible.
