1481  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin to trigger central bank collapse on: December 27, 2020, 10:40:00 PM
Moat banks are dependent on a country's stability and stature. If a bank collapses, more likely than not the government will collapse too. And bitcoin wouldn't trigger it, the hype arounf it, not so much. As of not banks are wprking in great harmony with their respective governments so I don't see a gap or an opportunity for one tp live when one dies off.
1482  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Massadoption - Is it ready? on: December 27, 2020, 10:16:23 PM
Was kinda hopeful it was gonna happen last 2017, since bitcoin is still not that too high and is readily available for the people to take their chances on. Unfortunately I came into the harsh realization that thid may never happen soon, at least not in the next 10 years or so. Being an investor/trader myself, I don't want my assets to lose value, which is actually the first thing bitcoin must do in order to become a bonafide currency that everyone can use.
Everyone using bitcoin for transactional payments in place of banks are the adoption that the blockchain has been emphasized on; so if everyone uses bitcoin; then it all makes it easy to do transactions involving payments either you are home or awayy. But bitcoin is not ready yet, with the influx in gas fee when theres congestion; there is certainly more to do.
Not too many mind you, mainly for transactions that would require a great deal of security or anonymity that they'd rather pay a huge transaction fee than to reveal themselves in the public. So bitcoin is definitely being adopted, just slow and not something we expected of years ago.
1483  Economy / Economics / Re: What if there is a natural disaster, such as an earthquake? on: December 27, 2020, 09:44:09 PM
If this was during the infancy of the internet, bitcoin would've already died since we only have a single server on a single computer way back then. But we are lucky to be alive in the age where we have multiple servers that not only offer connectivity, but security to bitcoin as well. So unless a massive asteroid hits the planet and threatens all life, I don't see how bitcoin would die off due to disasters.
Natural disasters must only occur in a few countries, it is unlikely that earthquakes will occur simultaneously throughout the world, while those who use crypto are people all over the world, so crypto will not be affected by it
I get your idea and I am in agreement with it, though I would like to correct you regarding your claim that only "some countries" experience calamities. For all I care the whole world experiences disasters, no one place safer than the other. It's just a matter of timing.
1484  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: why are there many big us and international institutions investing in bitcoin ? on: December 27, 2020, 09:05:31 PM
Primarily due to the fact that they FOMOed too much in the past that they can't let this slip once again. They have been aiming for yet another commodity to triumph over which is bitcoin in this case. And since the bull run of 2017 these private companies are accumulating bitcoins of their own to ensure that they have a place whdn another ATH happens.
Because they finally realized that bitcoin is a serious digital asset with its own ecosystem, and not just another way to send funds to someone or pay for something. I believe that PayPal made a huge contribution to the promotion of bitcoin at the moment when it was announced that it was possible to trade and store bitcoin on its PayPal wallet. At that moment, everyone realized that everything would not stop there and bitcoin would go further to the masses.
This is correct. They even thought bad of bitcoin in the past but look at them now, fomoing the hell out of each other because bitcoin reached new heights. They are now finally seeing bitcoin is not just your any other commodity and is a very valuable asset that everyone as much as possibly should have in their portfolios.
1485  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling as a profession: there's people who live out of gambling? on: December 27, 2020, 08:19:00 PM
Well ypu have to be extremely good or calculated if you wanna make a living out of gambling. Because they are basically polar opposites with the same goal at the end of the road. With that being said, there are indeed a few notable people who are so good at gambling they basically make an earning out of it. But if you aren't that confident enough of your skills, I would suggest looking for other ways to earn money.
1486  Economy / Economics / Re: Some Company are holding more than 10000 Bitcoin on: December 26, 2020, 11:46:40 PM
Everytime I get a news where some large-scale companies are  buying out tons and tons of cryptocurrencies, particularly bitcoin. I feel both hope and fear. Hope because this means that bitcoin is all the more becoming more and more accepted in our society compared to when it was in the past. A little bit fearing when we consider the fact that these makes them all effectively whales that could easily make the market dance at the top their hands.
You're right, they have the capability to buy a lot of bitcoins and it will attract more rich investors to invest and buy bitcoin also. You still lucky that you have even just a fraction of bitcoin because soon that will become a huge amount in your pocket.
Still a big fraction of the coin nonetheless. Or at least of what's already discovered. These coins could've fallen to the people's hands but ultimately fell into theirs. I fear the day these guys get another ground to step on the people, especially bitcoin which is meant to be the people's currency. We're going to have an Anakin moment if that happens.
1487  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sport betting site offering bets on the Covid-19 pandemic. Worst site now. on: December 26, 2020, 11:32:17 PM
It's best to DYOR in finding things like this. Because as for me, whatever the means are, the ends will be the one to decide whether something was good or bad. Say, these guys may have created the site for the purpose of profiteering from the virus, but we also disregarded the fact that this may also be used for researches regarding virus spread with an uptrend. So personally, if this site is being used to help people one way or another, I don't think it would be that bad.
1488  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: OMG !!!!! You BitCoin people were right. I wish I had bought back in March :( on: December 26, 2020, 11:23:00 PM
To own up to your mishaps is a sign of a good investor. Undoubtedly most bitcoin investors right here were down to their luck when march came in and we are all expecting a slow yet steady increase but here is bitcoin yet again breaking all the stigmas. Best invest when the price corrects itselfvas you may suffer extreme losses investing on bitcoin at this huge price. And the HODL!
What is the purpose of this topic exactly? I am a bit confused once I read it, doesn't seem to focus on a single goal.
By the way, if now you just realize it, you absolutely have no chance to do it. No one can come back to the previous time and buy the Bitcoin as many as possible. It is something never to happen, buddy. The only way you can do is taking advantage of the current bullish trend with something you can do now. You can do scalping, day trading, arbitrage, or anything in the short term. You are not so late to take part in the party..  Smiley

Those don't sound so bad either. If OP can't wait for the price to correct, this will be the best means of earning money through bitcoin is now. Just be careful as these require a keen eye to make the most profit out of.
1489  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is the largest financial service in the world.😂 on: December 26, 2020, 11:04:49 PM
Largest perhaps in terms of value, but we still have a long way to reach the heights of the banking giants like Visa and Mastercard which have been already here ven before bitcoin was created. Not that it's not possible, just not achieavle as of the moment. But as soon as adoption ramps up, the idea of an decentralozed financial service toppling over large-scale banking institutions wouldn't be a far-fetched dream.
1490  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The used of Bitcoin in Africa on: December 25, 2020, 09:15:21 PM
I always see African countries pioneering and and publicizing innovative projects like this. They always impress me with the way they work to make money. Africa 's apparent poverty may have catalyzed this drive of people to succeed which in turn directs them to great ways to earn money such as bitcoin.
1491  Other / Archival / Re: ... on: December 25, 2020, 08:35:35 PM
For one, it would be really hard to replace fiat currencies despite the fact that it is basically inferior in functionality and value than bitcoins or cryptocurrency for that matter. There are some commodities that would need regulation from the government or else it would cause a collapse in the society. One of these is money. If we have a money we cannot regulate, it's gonna cause a problem to most people.
Despite the success records of Bitcoins and individuals' investment in bitcoins, Bitcoin may not replace the traditional currencies. As traditional currencies are printed & controlled by the governments whereas bitcoin doesn't control by a third party.
No doubt, investors and individuals considering it as a safe vehicle against the finical crisis. But, many people still don't know about what is bitcoin, how it works, and the investment benefits of bitcoins.
Added to the fact that they don't know bitcoin is that they know what bitcoin isn't. People tend to retaliate when learning that some things have shortcomings on them, and without knowing the benefits yet, they will have a problem accepting bitcoin.
1492  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Am I the Only One Who Forget The Innovation of Bitcoin ? on: December 23, 2020, 11:43:32 PM
I believe in bitcoin's limitless potential but it is evidently bound by the current rules and regulations, as well as the economy of the world which it circulates in. Given the time, bitcoin will indeed be able to compete against traditionaly payment methods and will be able to come out on top, the classic bitcoin way. It's only a matter of time and technology before this happens, and we all know these two things come by pretty quick
1493  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Breaking news: Skybridge Invested $25 million in Bitcoin on: December 23, 2020, 11:24:55 PM
This sounds both as good and bad news to most people at this forum. For one, it is great news considering the fact that bitcoin is be oming more accepted and being integrated even in these big companies. It alsp comes as a bad news as more and more of these companies buyout huge amounts of bitcoin, they effectively make themselves whales that will be able to make the market dance at the palm of their hands whenever they please, however they want.
1494  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Early signs of crime with bitcoin. on: December 23, 2020, 10:42:24 PM
All eyes are on bitcoin since it's still considered new comoared to fiat that have been servicing the people for millenia, so it would not be surprising if the people pick on bitciin this time. What makes me sick is how the media portrays bitcoin as the devil's currency or something when in fact what we just want is a decentralized currency that is not chaining us in debt or in turmoil.
Well that's really true money laundering is one of the cons of the Bitcoin since anyone can really hide their asset through Bitcoin and we all know that the addresses in bitocin are pseudonymous it can still be traceable. Well we can't really take that fact away from Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency.
It's easier to launder cash than Bitcoin, considering the currently available blockchain analysis tools we have. Criminals will never cease to find ways to do their crimes, be it with or without fiat/crypto's existence. As you said, the addresses are still traceable. Hence, it's actually an advantage for the authorities that they can clearly see who sent coins to who (and how much).
It is easier but is not as secure as bitcoin. Honestly I don't even know how these guys were able to catch the person and I commend them for that. Swiss banks have been the go to for a very long time but even them proved to be chained to a lord, so they aren't as reliable as they are in the past.
1495  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: FreeBitcoin Bot - What do you think about this tool?? on: December 23, 2020, 10:15:12 PM
If there is a guarantee that this bot is learning and is quick to learn, I may consider botting my bets as they are a bit more precise and calculated compared to humans admittedly. The hourly claiming of Satoshis courtesy of this bot seemed promising too, so it's for sure that a lot of people will be using that. This will draw in more people for sure, especially given the fact that the site is free to begin with.

1497  Economy / Economics / Re: ...And the good news keeps on coming... on: December 21, 2020, 11:52:48 PM
Well, there's gotta be someone held accountable for this in a case this intense and serious. And this will definitely lose them the trust of the people since they advertised themselves to the public as an impenetrable department that will never be toppled down by the way their statements and hold themselves in. Prolly would take a bit more time until people are convinced to switch into crypto but wouldn't be too farfetched really.
I don't get it why you are still considering it as a great news knowing that the US treasury have been hacked by those foreign entities. You must be sad because hacks are serious matter and that just proves how not safe and secure anything that is being catered through internet this time because of the breach that happened. Even if they were pursuing crypto regulation, still it is not good that even the US Treasury have been victimized by such actions done by those hackers. They have a tight security and still they have been hacked by such entities how much more for a simple security feature? This still sounds alarming and I do not consider this as a good news after all.
I'm pretty sure the title is just being satire about the current situation. He aimed to catch your attention through the title alome and it clearly worked, but next time read between the lines. The guy feels sorry about the situation and I can tell it even across monitor screens.
1498  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will the founder of Bitcoin Satoshi Nakamoto show up and give bitcoin? on: December 21, 2020, 11:38:27 PM
Very unlikely. He already made it clear years ago that he wouldn't be revealing himself. All this years bitcoin was able to thrive without his public presence and people are still eager to learn who he is. Like is there a treasure hunt meant for him where whoever will find the real Satoshi will earn something? Because if no is the answer then I don't see the point why we have to waste time and energy looking for a guy that is actively avoiding the public notice.
Even Santa Claus won't share his bitcoins, lol. Secondly, why do you care if Satoshi will show up. There's no need for his showing up, and likely no much effect apart from the news that'll be saying he's back. Let's just focus on what he has given us, and that is Freedom.
And even if the real one do show up, we'll just shrug him off like he's a dime-a-dozen bitcoin creator claimer. So there's really no point in looking for him because under any circumstance, we will not be able to find him or even recognize him
1499  Economy / Economics / Re: Im very interested of this predictions on: December 21, 2020, 11:23:09 PM
I'm not so sure why you would do that considering these two implications:
* You can politely deliver your prediction without being a dick in the forum
* You can pretty much say you ha e a prediction but base it on a statistical report or something to make it more sensible to your readers.

Since you haven't done any of these, a lot of people hated you on that and this post instead of gathering like-minded people that usually happens in this forum.

Actually he said right we are up exactly so %

Lmao, so polo7 is your alt account. What is with you and your obsession with proving yourself right? You keep on saying bullshits and you expect people to believe you? What are you trying to do here? Shows users that you can predict the market properly and then ask for money and help them make *profit*?
Both your account has negative trust rating for running a ponzi, trying to start a new scheme?
This is the most likely situation which he will leverage his "prediction skills" in. That's why he is so eager in provimg himself to be right when a lot of people is already saying bitcoin would get up as early as Feb 2020.
1500  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is there any insurance service for gamblers to retain heavy losses....??? on: December 21, 2020, 11:09:39 PM
As far as I onow there is something like this but is exclusive in Japan only. But there is a catch. It has to be golf and the parameters are as folows:

*Must be playing golf with an acquaintance or a friend
*Must be betting to get a hole-in-one
*Must get a hole in one

Under these conditions, the person who sinked the ball will have to automatically throw a party that may cost him/her something from $4900-$8000. And so, insurance companies in Japan includes these in their packages so winners don't have to pay for the party leaving them cashless in the process.
