Fails to compile on Linux
Maybe because it says on the OP and in the title that this is for Windows?

If coded correctly for compatibility, C++ programs are usually cross compatible among unix and windows.  Anyway, compiling on unix is proving problematic, I'm giving up for now.

It's not a matter of wrong o right, it's a matter of what methods are used to be compatible.

1488  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Litecoin GPU mining efficiency. on: April 04, 2013, 03:29:48 PM
I have considered pool mining.

I have worked out using, say, pool-x.eu @ 350khas/s my return will be 1 coin per day.

A few friends of mine, seemingly lucky ones, have reported a couple of blocks a week at the 370 khash/s mark.

You could try PPS, like on Coinotron.
Pool-x si PPLNS, this can make you a few less coins.
1489  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Litecoin GPU mining efficiency. on: April 04, 2013, 02:54:39 PM
Hi there.

I'm planning on building a mining rig next week, GPU for litecoins.

I plan on starting small, the card I have in mind is the XFX 6870 @ 900mhz, which has reportedly thrown back a khash/s of anwhere between 250 and 350.

I am willing to fork out up to £100 more on a card, which seems could buy me anywhere in the region of 50-100 khash/s which I feel is reasonably proportionate.

My question is this; is 250-350 khash/s (solo mining) going to throw back a decent return?  I'm aware this is not an easy question to answer, and there are a lot of variables.  However considering LTC difficulty has increased over the last few months (and probably at a crazy level now) will this khash/s level mine me a block (or two) even over, say, a week?

Basically has the difficulty dramatically changed the speed at which we should mine.  To compete, should I consider a far more powerful card?  Or a second?

I would be over the moon at 1 block per week.

You should consider in pooled mining, you will get far more coins this way.

I'm accepting BTC / LTC / PPC.
Keep your offers here, in this topic.
1491  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A clever route to perform a 51% attack? on: April 04, 2013, 02:48:52 PM

Am I missing something? Is there a solution to this kind of vulnerability?

P2Pool and/or when "all" mining pools are down, you can try solo mining.
1492  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [C3] Coin Brainstorming / Ideas / Proposals thread on: April 04, 2013, 02:25:57 PM
Make it have limited number of coins, but make it a high number, even higher compared of Litecoin's limit, this way transaction fees wouldn't cost much in theory.
Bitcoin's deflation is a kind of problem to be world accepted, Bitcoin is getting more a store of value and less useful for small transactions.

vale a pena colocar 4x ati 5850?
uma fonte de 500w reais aguenta?

Vai aguentar as 4 placas com sorte talvez se as placas estiverem underclocked, porque ainda tem mais o processador + HD pra alimentar.
1495  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: [Dúvida] Enviar BTC's sem fees on: April 04, 2013, 12:49:53 PM
complexity, or use of recently received funds!

Not posting for one week was a bit hard, I must admit. Trying to make things only trough PMs is a pain in the ass.
But not posting was good too, it helped me to read more, and see how much trash-talking on good topics are out there, also to see how much reliable the first law on the Internet is : "Thou shall not feed the trolls".

Other than that, I'm happy to announce that for the first time ever, I'm going to help on the development on a project together with the forum member rudrigorc2. I'm very pleased in being part of this partnership and this a good chance to test my programming skillz.

Post 499...
I need to suggestions of what I could post as my first Heroic post, such moment need to be, at least in my concept something that I can say "totally worht it". Not that all of my 498 posts are worthless, but I want to make this a bit more special.

#EDIT: At least I can edit and PM others  Cheesy

I accept your challenge Ciyam, I will think of something awesome this weekend...

#EDIT2: Dammit, I have ~260h online and 499 posts in 4 months, I feel so compulsive to post that a full week without posting will be like 1 week without looking e-mails.

#EDIT3: The first day, I holded my compulsive need of trolling grammar nazis and other mistakes or even posting something helpful to answer a quesion. At least in some cases, I can PM him/her and the problem will be solved in theory. But I must hold on, since 0.1 BTC is money Smiley

#EDIT4: The second day, I almost lost the challenge D: I was going to offer translanting services to my native language(PT-BR), but before I could send it I saw that the button wasn't "Send Message" but was "Post".  Roll Eyes
With the all the trouble happening with the "Mercado Bitcoin" and with our greatest brazilian member, Leandro César, I'm feeling bad for not posting, but it doesn't matter, I MUST hold on.

#EDIT5: The third day, not a hard one, I kept myself busy with lot of things that I almost forgot about this forum, except when I was going to check my mail and I saw that I recieved a few PMs.

#EDIT6: The fourth/fifth/sixth days were good ones, I came to the conclusion that without losing time to post, I got more time to read lol
1500  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: PPCoin proof of stake rewards on: March 27, 2013, 02:35:11 PM
I'm tying to better understand PPCoin's proof of stake reward system.  Do I get coins for the existing coins I have? Can someone be kind enough to explain it to me?

If I can remember well, you need:

*To have a 30 days stopped coin(the time that you recieved the transaction most be over 30 days)
*Run the qt as -server and you will be eligible and good luck Smiley
