14881  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Using old CPU's for Monero on: July 26, 2016, 05:11:24 AM
I have a pretty similar I7 and, since it's an old CPU with no AES support you'll get around 65H/s. I don't mine much with it lately and the income depends on difficulty, but you'll get under 1 XMR / month with it.

Maybe 0.5 XMR is a close call.

About the quad core I don't know, maybe others can ...
14882  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [Free] Torrent Leech invite code on: July 25, 2016, 08:38:07 PM

Torrent Leech has opened 30k spots. Use code 'KICKTHATASS'
https://www.torrentleech.org/user/account/signup

I will signup now but i was wondering something. I don't use private torrent sites I use like kat or piratebay. So what advantages do I have over these by using torrents ?

In reality not much. Maybe more hassle.
In theory, it should be difficult to reach private trackers (and if it's difficult for you, it is for feds too) and at join you agree to an eula that makes you 'pirate' too. But this is only theory....

The actual difference is the size. Feds will - for now - target the big free trackers because they'll check much more people and will also scare off more.

Post your walletadress at the 1000xmg post on https://www.facebook.com/CoinMagi/

How many likes Magi needs to hit the 1000 likes?

it has 939 likes now, so it needs 61 more.
14885  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Xaurum RICO [OPEN] on: July 25, 2016, 02:08:00 PM
I've lost my 0.5 btc and 20 old Xau on Craptsy. These exchanges are bs! I don't trust any of them. Next time we must use our brains and wallets...

                             Mining XAUR will ?

If you are asking about mining xaur, yes, later it will be possible. But at the moment pool is closed.

Interesting. What algo will that be?

I have 55 EDU (EduCoin), 402k FC (FutureCoin), 40k GCN (GCoin), 200k HBC (HobbitCoin), 41 MID (MidasCoin).
I don't know if any of these networks still run at all, but if you are interested, PM me to know if I should bother checking any.
14887  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [POLL] Sick of hearing about Ethereum ? on: July 25, 2016, 01:47:24 PM
I remember the same complains about Monero was going to ask why there isn't the same backslash against ETH when its 10x worse than XMR at its peak of bitcointalk activity, maybe because deep down people know dETHEREUM is a dead end coin.

I couldn't say it better.
Although I (still) believe that some XMR threads were created back then by .... others just to angry the community, it's an old story.
And now I can't read anything because everybody screams about ETH/ETC or whatever its name is today....
14888  Economy / Services / Re: [BIT-X.com] Earn Bitcoins by Posting | Signature Campaign on: July 25, 2016, 12:57:31 PM
Why not just reset the overall campaign to start fresh? Since the campaign was revamped from bit-X to coinsbank, it's best if they could start resetting the bot or create a new one since it obviously has flaws in it. It's not functioning well so creating a new fresh one should make it more smooth.

Actually the best way is to see what the errors are and fix them, instead of trying to hide them. And with current user base the errors are popping out easier, it seems.
And then I don't think it worth the hassle to fill again the user database....
And starting anew may just create new problems...

However, it's an idea, and I respect that, and it's up to Marco and Coins Bank to decide...
14889  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How can i buy Bitcoin with PayPal ? on: July 25, 2016, 07:29:33 AM
how can i buy bitcoin with PayPal ?

by legit way ??

If you want to get rather small amounts, I advise wesellcrypto.com. I bought dogecoin a couple of times from their "sister" website weselldoges.com
You will have to send e-mail to the owner and do some steps for it, but it's a site I still trust in.

Of course, since it's about PayPal, the final price is quite high, since it contains all the fees...but at least you can see it from start.
14890  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: "Ethereum Hard Fork" or "Ethereum Classic" - please recommend for a novice on: July 25, 2016, 06:24:52 AM
Don't get investment advises from strangers.
And if you are not sure, better not invest.

There were plenty of bad words about ETH before the fork (bad code, pump and dump, ...).
Did the fork fix everything? No. It made things strangely confusing.
Now think on the big investors. Will they read on and on to invest into the correct ETH? I doubt that. They should wait or even run away.

Is it a good time to invest in any of them? I'd say no.
But again, it's about money and you better not get investment advises from strangers.....
14891  Economy / Services / Re: [BIT-X.com] Earn Bitcoins by Posting | Signature Campaign on: July 25, 2016, 06:18:47 AM

I want to buy their spot, not their account

i really dunno how that would work. the campaign manager would have to approve it so it would be pretty much the same as freshly applying. they'd probably be happy to cut down the numbers a little so it would be a no go.

and when would the payment for the swap take place? the person selling it wouldn't want to risk losing their place so they'd want money up front but they can't guarantee you're gonna get in.

you may as well buy an account that's signed up, they show up occasionally, and then you'd be absolutely certain of getting payouts without any grey areas.

It's summer and things go slower.
But there were words that this campaign may open again when everything is back on track.
So I'd advise you for a big amount of patience, maybe even join another campaign meanwhile and keep an eye regularly on this thread. It may be the best method.

Do the tweets made today count for the first or for the second week? When do/did the second start?

Thanks
14893  Economy / Services / Re: [BIT-X.com] Earn Bitcoins by Posting | Signature Campaign on: July 24, 2016, 06:11:50 AM
Hello Sorry for that long time, I was not able to access to internet for a sufficient time to solve problems.
Since the last time payments sent, the latest payment and its precedent were just a repeat of one payment, so I counted that in the payment
I made now, I still working to verify if everyone was paid, If something is wrong please pm me.

The bot will be under maintenance for a day or two to solve some problems related to payments API & paying time, personal message (PMS)
and status update.

Bitcoin Boy.

Hi, glad to see you back here.
An update for the situation (which you just did) was as badly needed as the due payments.
And with today's payment (I received some money too) we are almost back on track.
I think that the others agree too: while the amounts for the next payment are visible on the site and while the situation is known (clearly scheduled maintenance) we are just fine.

Thanks again.
14894  Other / Politics & Society / Re: child labouring or child beggar on: July 23, 2016, 05:02:23 AM
What do you prefer more child working in some work place or child begging in a street

Neither. Children have to play, they have to learn a little and play again.
Unfortunately we take their childhood and teach them become - like we also are - slaves for money.
And begging, working and even too much school falls into that category.
i think both are the element of third world countries. you can see the child labour and child begger in the poor countries. as they cannot support them and cannot afford their study expenses. other reason is that they are the source of income for their parents.

May be, but since I do live in a country not so far from 3rd world, I know this reality.
But it depends on the parents really. Some work more to offer what they can to their kids, some other make 6, 8 maybe more and use them sa extra income. Some even sell them: some go to proper families, but most end up begging in big cities or even rich countries.
14895  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Kraken Account, Robbed/Emptied. Kraken say "Fuck you, its your loss" on: July 21, 2016, 08:55:00 PM
They gave you thw tools (SMS, 2FA) and you didn't use them to protect 12k$ worth of BTC.

If this would have pennies, I would have understood. But on this amount... you almost asked for it.

Sorry for your loss, it's an extremely expensive lesson about securing your money.... Embarrassed

On OP's defense. I did enable 2FA on my account and for some reason you get locked out so quickly which is why i had to disable it, then withdraw and then enable it again.
Very complicated and this was advised by a kraken employee...

Woah, complicated and strange too. First guess would be that your or Kraken's time was not correctly sync-ed with Google's for the 2FA.
But if that would happen to me, I'd try to move to another exchange/wallet.

People should start to realize that an exchange isn't the right place to keep bitcoin or FIAT  money, an exchange should be used only to 'change' your bitcoin for fiat or viceversa (or also altcoin).
Mt.gox docet....

Own wallet and cold storage are very good places to store value. And I agree that value should not be kept on online wallets or exchanges.

But I think that the richer ones, beside the money the have in cold storage, keep big amounts on exchanges or at hand to be able to speculate and earn big. Or just play on the exchange very often.

And there are the ones not very good at computers which find online wallets just fine: they're less often hacked than ordinary computers, they are always at hand and some have very good reputation. And people forget easily ...

14899  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would it be principle possible to own all bitcoins? on: July 21, 2016, 01:39:15 PM
All the BTC are not in 'a wallet'. They are spread out and a lot are not online or with private keys lost forever. So the answer is NO.
-snip-

Whats wrong with you people. The question is "If I have all(!) private keys in my wallet (does not matter where its from), do I controll all bitcoin?" and the answer to that question is yes. Just because you have a number stored on an offline system does not mean I can not have the exact same number stored on my system. The moment I know your secret number (the private key), your coins also belong to me.

Good luck finding a 40564819207303340847894502572032 exabyte disk to store the keys though.

We both know that "guessing" other's private key is practically impossible. So the only way to get it is by stealing it. And THERE the number of offline wallets counts.

But you're right, I could have said it (much) better. And I also mixed it up with a lot of other stuff...

Sorry, this is the deal — our magazine is FREE but we need your e-mail, ( and your immortal soul)

Actually you could script it better and at least avoid the most common temp e-mail services.
I just downloaded it using a guerrilla mail account, thank you. It looks like it'll be a good read.
