anyone trying underclocks ?

i have a ryzen 9 3900x. set it to freq 3600. volts at 1.0

2 sticks of 8gb ram.

used 21 threads 🧵

using nicehash 2 ... 19

a evga 1660 doing phoinex eth.

rig pulls 217 watts. and earns 1.38 usd on nice hash.

217 watts is 5.1kwatts a day or 51 cents at ten cent power.

so 1.38-0.51= 87 cent daily profit.

i had a ryzen 7 1800x flashed my mobo to run the 3900x

i got the cpu for 430- 100 for the 1800x = 330 cost

roi will be a year. if it makes 87 cents a day

have set it to 1.0625v @ 3800 Mhz.  3600 CL14 ram kits (e-die overclocked).  Gets about 13.5 Khs.

Yeah I can get to 13,100  from my current 9,000    but the power used  2x

so with cheaper ram

and underclocked cpu using only 19 threads  and my gear is doing much better at watts per hash then your rig.

my cpu runs at 50c to 52c  .  I was interested if anyone has tired to underclock

I am down to 3600 freq
and 0.99 volt clocks
19 to 21 threads
very stable and quiet rig.  plus I can use it for other things if I want.
14882  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Bitmain Points ( A new feature, What is it) ? on: February 18, 2020, 04:41:39 PM
Odd...
So if everyone is close to 1 point per 100$ spent, why am I closer to 0.5 per 100$ spent.

I will contact them to ask about that, and I'll try to extract all the info about those points from their customer support.

Did you count  pre coupon price?

Did you count pre credit price?

Did you count actual cash/btc/coin/paypal  laid out?

Do you have outstanding credit balance.

my 4400 spent is after credits after coupons and does not include shipping.

If you count credits 1100 and shipping 400 and coupons 600

I add to 6500 and 43 points.
14883  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer S9 SE 17TH on: February 18, 2020, 04:04:38 PM
I think they would be better in a 25c room.

I have 29

s9 s9i s9k room uses filtered outside air.

If it drops to -10c room gets cold and the s9k’s tend to drop out.

having a mix of s9s I have to say if you can get s9i they are the best. I have one at stock and it does 15th

it just works and is the single best s9 i have.

s9 gear seems to like some warmth .   good luck with the gear ⚙️.
14884  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Advice on Raspberry pi hardware for running full BTC node on: February 18, 2020, 03:58:46 PM
A couple days ago I came across myNode which seems to be a working open source solution to running a full node on RPi4 along with many other apps including lighting node/wallet and BTC explorer apps. I'll be dropping the idea of compiling a node on raspian and looking forward to getting this up and running.

let us know how this works out.

I would not mind running a full node with a wallet.

use an external ssd and space becomes a non issue.
14885  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Bitmain Points ( A new feature, What is it) ? on: February 18, 2020, 03:54:29 PM
I've purchased $10962 since Oct 30 and have 101 points. So pretty close to 1 point per $100 spent.

They could just be using them to track long term loyalty. So maybe they'll offer early access to batches if your points are higher than some number, like perks on airlines for frequent flyers.

yeah seems to be 1 point per 💯.  that is close to the 43 in my account and the 79 is close to the 8000 spent by my hoster.   i also think buysolar spent about 3500 and has 33 points.
14886  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: RIPPLE CEO goes on CNN , attacks Bitcoin on: February 18, 2020, 05:27:21 AM

14887  Other / Meta / Re: A reply of yours, quoted below, was deleted by a Bitcoin Forum moderator. on: February 18, 2020, 04:32:34 AM
to illustrate an issue of deletion of a post that harms mining board would be if op had posted.  in alt coin mining

Good deal on a ryzen 9 3900x best buy has it for

$469

retailmenot has a 10% cashback promo

so if you already belong to retailmenot go to their site  punch in best buy find the 10% cash back offer and go for it.

https://www.retailmenot.com/

if you do not belong to them and want to join them  use the non referral link above

below is the  link to the 10% offer up to 50 usd back  since the item is 469  you will get 46.90 off

https://www.retailmenot.com/cashback/2/25S36HPRBZAYZIAL6BF6P6LEJQ

these are not available with the 10% offer.
https://www.retailmenot.com/cashback/restrictions/12008415

So for me   469 - 47 =  422   tax was 33  so 455  lastly I used a best buy card  so  25 more off  my net for a new sealed cpu was  455-25 = 430

good price . ...

this info is of real value to any miner looking to mine with a risen 9 3900x

the info is good there is no effort to get referral money if you buy.

it is just a way to get a discounted ryzen 9 3900x cpu.

no one that wants that cpu cares if the poster made 20 USD in btc from a signature campaign.

It is work only done for op to make money from the signature campaign but and a big but the post has real money saving value to a miner.

This is why being a mod is really hard.  In the case of the post above the mod needs to know usa prices and that the info will save a miner 50 to 100 usd.  he must also know it is not a sneak referral link .  it is not.

if it is a clean post designed to help miners like the one above is it should stand who cares if the poster earned some coin from signature campaign.

It makes a mod's job hard to do correctly.

I am not a fan of signature campaign's.
I ended my signature years ago.

I still know  Signature's are legal if a poster gives good info.

So deleting it does not help others.

Now as too the op giving a good post or 2 I had trouble reading the print but it did look okay.

I think frodocooper could have left it up.

Bitcoin price hits $9678: What to expect? ris eor fall ??

MARK MY WORDS:

14890  Economy / Speculation / Re: It's over $9000! on: February 17, 2020, 11:16:50 PM
hey look !, if $ 9000 is the end I don't believe it, now I see the price of Bitcoin recovering again above $ 10,000, and this makes me feel happy and you will definitely feel it, this will be a long bullish trend for bitcoin before halving

I assume you didn't noticed the date when the OP posted this on January 28 which Bitcoin was struggling to touch the $9,000 level. So, the $9,000 level was definitely and obviously not the end of the line.
While Bitcoin is again struggling for days now to stay at the $10,000 level. But I'm hopeful this won't take long and we'll see a $11,000 soon.
The correction is not over yet, the market is still on red, so let's see what would happen if the bleeding would stop.
Currently, btc priced now at $9600, and we are in a descending mode right now for 2 days already, but hopefully this will stop and bounce back to $10,000 again and I am sure that time there's a great chance of pumping to $11,000 (slowly but surely).
Mark these words 11111 by march 3rd.

i have a question.  it ends with voltage: 09.94 ...

is there missing info after ... that you did not include notice the photo i opened connection refused is no big deal. it should link eventually or reboot.

guesses

weak psu makes board drop
poor eth cable
bad board is possible.

you are 23 of 24 good boards around 5 percent bad.  not out of the ordinary.
14894  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Running S17 or T17 from the dryer plug in US on: February 17, 2020, 04:08:27 PM
since the s17 and the t17 simply need two hot 120= 240. and a ground.

my instructions should work. for one miner. see below if you want to run both.

my common/ground bar in main breaker has one wire to cold water copper house feed. one wire out back to a 10 foot copper pipe in the ground.  and one wire to the feed from the power company.

I am pretty sure my instruction to the op is safe and he can do a single s17 the way i said.

for two units.  he could grab the pdu i linked and maybe run the s17 and the t17 off the single circuit.

he only need replace the plug on the pdu with a l14- 30 p and hook the pdu to the dryer receptacle.

a t17 and a s17 use about 4500 watts the linked pdu should work.

he would need four of the c13 to c20 cables  to do the two units.  he may need to run the s17 on medium speed just in case.
14895  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Bitmain Points ( A new feature, What is it) ? on: February 17, 2020, 03:01:44 PM
Yeah  a lot of people will misuse paypal mine until april and claim gear failure.

All the gear we ordered about 35000 worth  the final payments are due May or June.

We can make claims up until those dates.  So bitmain and paypal  year round to everyone will never happen.  But bitmain giving paypal to a buyer like me

(7 years of purchases more then 250,000 usd worth of gear)  never returned gear for an rma.  May be doable.

Well hoping it is a good program  as my hoster has 79 points I have 43 points buysolar has 32 points.

We may get a box from them the

20 foot Antbox N5 SE

BTW  anyone have this item I would love to look at it. Before I buy one.

ANTBOX N5 SE

this is the 20 foot model.

I have an investor my warehouse host  he wants this model.  He asked me to find out if anyone has one working that would be willing to let me view it working.  Take sound measurements etc.

So does anyone run this model  or even the bigger model

ANTBOX N5

https://shop.bitmain.com/product/detail?pid=00020191205151421130d6ceUu6I0691

He has a location for it and we need to know how loud it is more then anything else but it would be very nice to see one in action.

Feel free to pm me and or write a reply here.

The 20 foot model claims to allow for 180 s17pros    and use as much as 930 amps of 230 power.  31 x 30 amp pdus

We can feed 800 amps of 240 power..   which means  around 150 kwatts  that should be about 80 on mid speed.

Anyone  that  can let me view one in action please contact me.

I am in New Jersey  so invites to China  or overseas do not interest me as much as USA and or Canada.
14897  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Bitmain Points ( A new feature, What is it) ? on: February 17, 2020, 01:52:56 PM
Yeah  let me have paypal again.  Me and my partners ordered 11+25= 36k in paypal  mostly  s17pros

It is nice to actually have a warranty on gear you can enforce vs the warranty bitmain gives to purchasers that used BTC.

I have a possible investor of 400,000  He would feel happier if we buy with paypal vs BTC or bank drafts.

Hello,
My name is C....... R...... and im ceo of a Norwegian tech company (L.......).
Im D...... on bitcointalk.
Our company L....... has designed a new scrypt asic that beats all other scrypt machines on the marked.
I really like your Apollo desktop miner and your vision for home miners and implemented node.

We do not want to produce unlimited miners and destroy the marked (like bitmain does).
Our SHA-engine is BAD ASS and we can use that in our next design for sha256.

I dont know what is your future plans is..
Your Apollo miner is so great and you have put so much work into that, that we dont want to go after that marked..
Maybe we can work together.. our chip in your Apollo.
