The U.S. Government has arrested the alleged owner of KickassTorrents, the world's largest torrent site. The 30-year-old Ukrainian was arrested in Poland today and is charged with criminal copyright infringement and money laundering. In addition, a federal court in Chicago has ordered the seizure of several KAT domain names.

[TorrentFreak] Feds Seize KickassTorrents Domains, Arrest Owner

..site is down !
Good news to the victims of this Ukrainian criminal. But its a bad news to all fanatics of kickasstorrents(KAT) specially for me. I have been downloaded many movies in their site for free. I cant afford to buy movie in online stores till i find this site which you can download all you want movies and other stuffs for free. Im sure many people who loves torrents will be disappointed bout this. But many torrents still operating, i can still donwnload torrents.

Although I was not a big fan of KAT, I have to answer to this post about the "victims of this criminal".
The main victims are the big studios, which, instead of making DVDs 10x cheaper, they pay millions to actors for looking good and saying a couple of lines. Then complain about stealing. Sorry, I don't pity them.
14902  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would it be principle possible to own all bitcoins? on: July 21, 2016, 06:21:38 AM
All the BTC are not in 'a wallet'. They are spread out and a lot are not online or with private keys lost forever. So the answer is NO.

If you'd make your own coin clone then you may be able to achieve that (mine it all by yourself), although I am not certain about the amount in the genesis block. And I don't understand the purpose of this. If you own them all, you just render them useless and with no value.
14903  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Help a newbie out please on: July 21, 2016, 06:15:11 AM
Hi everybody.  I'm a casino affiliate and a few of the programs I work with will only pay commission in BTC now.  I have about 30 BTC in Multibit, and I get about 10 BTC every month.  What should I do with it?  I don't need the money, so I could hold it indefinitely.  Is this the future?  I kinda think it is...should I just hold on to it?

I believe that this is a joke. Newbie with such a big income in BTC....

However.... if you plan to use this money in the near future, a hardware wallet would be the way.
But since you don't... I'd say you generate (make sure you do that safely!!) a fair number of paper wallets, laminate them and fill them with your BTC.
Try to not keep them all in the same place.

Why this? Because your computer may get hacked or corrupted, an USb stick with hardware wallet will not live forever, but the paper inside plastic is a pretty safe and long term choice.
14904  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Coinbase is silently tracking how you spend you coins on: July 21, 2016, 04:44:57 AM
Bitcoin is not anonymous. And that allows such behavoirs.
Use your own wallet. Use anonymous coins or mixers. Use the services like Coinbase only as exchange.
Then you will have your privacy and no one will be able to interfere.
14905  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Seaching a special Bitcoin Vanity Generator on: July 20, 2016, 07:09:24 PM
Hey Guys,

I am searching for a specified Bitcoin Vanity Generator, that puts out the Bitcoin address and the Private Key in 2 seperated files. It would be nice if somebody could give me a tool like this.

Thank you,

Patrick Smiley

If it's acceptable to use the current vanitygen command line with one output file and split that file afterwards in the 2 files you want, this would beich easier to achieve and you can find very easily somebody to help you out with the (after)splitting.

And it should be much safer too...
14906  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Help Please, did I lose all? on: July 19, 2016, 06:39:39 PM
First make sure you have the backup for the correct wallet.
Second, make sure the blockchain has synced, that takes a lot.
And third, make sure you copied your backup in the right place  (and bitcoin client was stopped).

Found the one I've missed, following all 3. In a few days I'll be back on desktop and such problems should not occur anymore.

Thank you

Exactly my thoughts, just I was not sure. And this makes the predictions on how many miners will be disconnected even harder.

I think that the diff will still rise since people will not necessarily mine for today's profit and will not disconnect that easy.
14909  Other / Archival / Re: Diff thread July 4 July 18th? picks are closed! prize = $50 usd + ½ ing on: July 18, 2016, 07:37:07 PM
And don't forget the pretty good % of "dreamers" who keep mining no matter what.

Does anybody have a stats of USB miners still on?
And I guess that a lot of other old miners are in the same situation.

....or am I giving them too much credit?
14910  Economy / Services / Re: Looking to hire people to WORK FROM HOME easy jobs on: July 18, 2016, 04:52:45 AM
I honestly find this rather fishy.
Why can't OP just say 'I want you to do this and that, I'll pay this and that much'?

Too much secrets and PM can easily lead to scams.
just pm me if i told to do something illegal just tell everyone !

btw it is posting service nothing illegal .

I didn't say it IS a scam. I said IT CAN BE one.
If this would have happen ed 2 weeks ago or will still go in 1-2 weeks for now, I may give it a second look. The current time frame is not great for me.
And again, this too much secrecy makes me worry.

Could you be so nice to tell which rule I'm not following? I double checked and I seem to follow all the written ones... Thanks.

14914  Economy / Speculation / Re: Predict the price for January 1, 2017 on: July 16, 2016, 07:26:19 PM
I predict only 850 $. And I dare to say that a rather big drop of the price may also happen until Jan 1, 2017, so my 850$ would be quite a recovery.
14915  Economy / Services / Re: [BIT-X.com] Earn Bitcoins by Posting | Signature Campaign on: July 16, 2016, 02:18:16 PM
The numbers do really match with the previous payment, but since my post count has a pretty good chance to be exactly that, I couldn't say...

About a spreadsheet... we still need Marco to do it. And when he comes to fix the things, the payments get up-to-date fast. So we need, as usual, only Marco. But since it's the holidays season, we may need even more patience...
14916  Economy / Services / Re: [BIT-X.com] Earn Bitcoins by Posting | Signature Campaign on: July 16, 2016, 04:57:22 AM
I've got a new payment. But, again, I'm not sure what it is for. Bitsig is not reset (and the numbers don't match) so it may be the bonus.

14917  Other / Politics & Society / Re: TURKEY COUP ATTEMPT on: July 15, 2016, 09:57:32 PM
It's not 100% confirmed, from what I've read, but... wtf, is this for real? In a NATO country?

This may affect quite a lot what's going to happen with the refugees trying to reach Europe...

And I don't want to think what's in the hearths of those preparing to go to Turkey this summer (or they're there)...

Many still mine because they believe in Bitcoin rise. On paper BTC still has a chance to get to over $100k.

14919  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What coins are best for noobs? on: July 08, 2016, 08:10:23 AM
I am new to bitcoin and my friend who uses bitcoins told me that it is better for new people to mine other coins what coins are best for new people and what coins are easiest to mine

Forget about easiest to mine and go for most profitable to mine. Then sell whatever your mining for bitcoin and hold your bitcoin.

I think right now you want to be mining Ethereum. But don't take my word for it since I haven't used GPUs to mine now for a while.

Since OP has only a laptop to mine with, the most profitable is to actually buy bitcoin.
Most coins he'd try to mine would eat up too much power to get any profit and he has a huge chance to burn his GPU.

So imho, some coins very easy to mine, for which OP could mine just a couple of hours now and then, only to see what's all about, would be the way to go.
I'd advise OP to also keep an eye on Espers. It may be easy to mine too, I didn't try, but from time to time they give out big amount of coins. They don't actually worth much, but you can play with sending / receiving, market and whatever you'd like to learn.

Heh Smiley, I'm trying, I'm trying... no luck though yet...
