1501  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Trading vs HODL - Personal Experience for Newbies on: November 19, 2023, 07:40:24 PM
I am not a newbie as you see from profile but I feel like this topic is literally describing what I have been through and yes I agree that hodling is the king when it comes to Bitcoin just like how leverages are enemy for Bitcoin it's vice versa for Altcoins wherein Hodling is enemy when it comes to most of the Altcoins except the top ones. I have lost a huge sum of amount in future trading and got into debt and thankfully I am out of it now but hodling Bitcoin has given me guaranteed profit and the problem with newbie is that they want to become rich overnight and this indulge into Altcoin trading or future trading and end up losing.
1502  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Warning]: Impersonation and spoofing of crypto related companies on Twitter on: November 19, 2023, 06:34:19 PM
This is why we are advised to do our own proper research before engaging so as not to fall victim to scams. It is good one verifies before doing anything further to save themselves of stress and heartbreak.

What annoys me most about these scams of a thing is that newbies are the victims and that makes them have a negative thought and mindset towards crypto as a result of their experience in loosing huge amount of money as it seems to be their first time and in some cases, they are being made to invest in such project by a fellow who have no idea about the project to be a scam and when the unfortunate happens that friend is also termed a scammer. This is why we need to be careful when advising newbies on crypto investment when we too have not done our own due diligence.

This is exactly what creates hatred for crypto in mind of so many people as we think they are jealous because they didn't adopt the crypto at the early day but this remains the hidden secret as most of them would have already tried investing into crypto and ended up on scam or else some of them gets into future trading without knowing the basics just by going through signals provided in Twitter and end up losing which creates negative image in the mind, iAs you mentioned they should do their own research or just get things clarified in this forum before indulging into such act.
1503  Economy / Speculation / What will SEC delay on Spot ETF approval do to Bitcoin's price? on: November 19, 2023, 11:13:32 AM
I am not sure if all of us are aware of not as SEC has delayed their decisions on Spot ETF application but they were supposed to take the decision by now and will this delay cause any set back in price ? People were speculating that there would be a price drop before halving and that didn't happened due to ETF as it helped increasing the value and since it's been delayed now will it cause any impact for the Bitcoin price? if yes then how much would it be and will it be that way till halving?
1504  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcointalk forum a home of solution on: November 19, 2023, 10:39:38 AM
Yeah this forum has answers to all the questions, also helps with suggestions and recommendations let it be for investment or selling or even using a particular exchange for trading you will get experts opinion on any crypto associated topics except the one which are beyond our control like product asks, compatibility issues as mentioned by an user name _act_ in the above response. The thing I like the most about this forum is the fact it has helped so many people from investing into scam projects as well as bot infested exchanges. This forum is a boon to us and all the crypto enthusiasts and I wish people continue to contribute their knowledge with each there so we become a strong close knitted Crypto community.
1505  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tricky situation for Altcoin investment on: November 19, 2023, 09:50:16 AM
I would just like to make everyone cautious about the current situation as it's a period which can make or break you based on your investment strategy. It's all about Altcoin investment and most of the newbie try their luck by investing into Altcoin whenever there are rumours of bull Run and the reason they prefer Altcoin over bitcoin is that they think Bitcoin is already priced higher and it would not get pumped multiple fold any further and they think Altcoin is price priced at single digit or double digit so they can grown thousand folds but that's not the case as it's a common mistake made by newbies as they just look at the market price instead of looking total supply of Bitcoin and Altcoin, they need to consider total supply of Altcoin and calculate it with the price they expect it to reach and think if it's even possible. I would suggest sticking to top Altcoin and Bitcoin.

Please share your opinions on common mistake newbie makes when market trends upward.

That's the reason why most of the newbie investors are losing because they enter the market when bitcoin price is bullish, and because its quite expensive, resorting into altcoin investing could be their best option. At first, the idea might be working but when the market suddenly crash and altcoins prices have been dropping so badly, that's when they realized that risking their money into altcoins is not worthy and might only put them at the losing end, losing their money that were supposed to risk in bitcoin.

However, we can't blame that as they only invest at a beginner's point of view. Without prior research and making them totally aware how altcoins can be tricky and deceiving, these newbies will definitely end up quitting after losing significant amount.

Yeah it's sad to see so many newbie losing money and i have personally tried stopping few from investing when Bitcoin is at peak but we fail besse of peer pressure and the kind of hype and attention it gets when it's at peak and people anyways end up taking entry at the peak market season, Altcoin I wouldn't recommend newbie unless we are at the rock bottom of bearish market and that too with few conditions. Not all the altcoins are risky there are altcoins that outperforms bitcoin in terms of returns but we need to do our research, for example I entered SOL when it was around $8 not because I though it would cross $250 like it did last time but I knew atleast it would give 3x to 4x and it happened. Newbie just need some more market exposure and how market trend. I am aligned with your response.
1506  Economy / Economics / Re: When Was the Last Time you Came Across a Positive Economic News? on: November 19, 2023, 09:06:58 AM
It's common now a days more than the economical vows what bothers me more is the harsh reality that capitalists keep getting rich and wherein the poora are already been pushed even further into poverty but even the working class or middle clas however you refer them are becoming poor due to inflation, lesser pay, rampant corruption. I would blame capitalism for this mess but our local politicians are no lesser than them. All these are happening due to unequal wealth distribution and lack of transparency and people's whole life has been taken as hostages for mortgage and this applies to developed nations, developing nations and third world countries as well. A radical changes has to be brought it system to bring transparency which should guarantee basic amenities for all.

It's really difficult to get out of this mess almost equals to impossible hence it's better we prepare for our survival the way people did at ancient times.
1507  Economy / Speculation / Re: Timely Halving Event and Bitcoin ETF a Positive Bombshell on: November 19, 2023, 08:20:07 AM
Yes, things are looking good for both events, although without getting pessimistic we cannot rule out that something will happen in the next few months that will push the price down. But the way things are going I think that even if the first spot ETF is not approved in the next few months, the trend will be to go up a little more before halving, to pass $100,000 next cycle. The question is what will be the maximum peak of that cycle, since this one was already disappointing and with the maximum peak of the next one we will be able to draw more conclusions.

I would be more optimistic on Bitcoin halving because that's something which is a sure sure process and it will send price of Bitcoin higer after the possible correction we might see in early 2024 which you are referring as something will happen in next few months which will push down the price, I think this cycle we are yet to see actual bull run because the value of Bitcoin has already crossed $30k twice this year once in April and another instance was in July. Indeed next cycle will see new high and Bitcoin has higher possibility of breaching $100k

As far as Spot ETF is concerned it has definitely given a boost to the value of Bitcoin, But as per the latest news the SEC were supposed to make a call by now but it has postponed the result on Spot ETF approval till early next year.

1508  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vs Altcoins on: November 18, 2023, 10:06:41 PM
These are temporary fluctuations and wont hodl on for longer period of time and yeah I agree these have reached ATH when Bitcoin is stagnant between $35k and $38k, But that doesn't give these coins an upper hand as these are new altcoins an same thing happened with other established altcoins when they were new.

I would say the major difference between Altcoin and Bitcoin is one give quick returns with high risk while other give guaranteed return, one has sustained numerous challenges and roadblock while other is yet to be test at such level.

we cannot compare new altcoins with Bitcoin as it will lead us nowhere, But to further confusion and wrong decision making.
1509  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin really too Expensive? Then Buy Satoshis on: November 18, 2023, 09:12:40 PM
First for those who don't know what is Satoshi, it's a smallest denomination of Bitcoin and 1 Satoshi = 0.00000001 BTC

Mate, I find this conflicting as it would create even more confusion if you keep referring to Satoshi as something different than Bitcoin as people will think of it as a parallel project of Bitcoin. There is a Stigma which has been attached like you need to hodl atleast 1 BTC to be considered as an investment but we need to understand it's not possible for everyone to have 1 bitcoin and rather they can accumulate how much ever they can based on their financial capacity. Ther figures mentioned for Satoshi to reach $0.2 sounds too overestimated as it would take decades if Crypto era lasts till that time. Instead of segregating Bitcoin and Satoshi let's put it across in simple words.
1510  Economy / Economics / Re: Imaginary Future on: November 18, 2023, 08:27:23 PM
We do, sometime we over imagine our future and starts saving everything for our future without understanding that's we are not sure whether we will live up to see the next minute or not. I think we should be reasonable to our present as well without overspending or wasting money in something without which we can still have a comfortable life.

For example, mobile phone is a necessity but having a gold covered or diamond studded mobile phone is something which is waste of money and doesn't serve any purpose.

It should be a calculated approach between present and future as we need to have enough to lead a dignified life which can be achieved only if we think about future and plan about it in the present. It should be a balanced approach without ruining our present.
1511  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why alt is important on: November 18, 2023, 07:56:07 PM
Altcoins are important because every market needs competition to overdo their competitors or market leaders by providing better technology or services which will attract the crowd but I am saddened to saw we look at crypto just as an investment and fails to utilise what it has to offer and even Altcoin developers are also just showcasing about APY instead of what it has to offer.

Another issue with Altcoins are it's volatility which makes bitcoin looks less volatile. But altcoin's volatility is a boon for experienced day traders and Bane for naive investors.

Altcoins needs to focus more on development than marketing it's APY. I am aligned about your thoughts on Solona but skeptical about other coins which you have mentioned as it's too early to comment on them.
1512  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is there so much interest in popular cryptocurrencies? on: November 18, 2023, 06:04:03 PM
I would breakdown my answer into two parts:

1. Reputation and tested:
Established coins like Bitcoin has been tested on numerous occasions with whales cashing, government calling to ban Bitcoin, Restrictions on usage and trading in selected countries but still Bitcoin is there in the market for over an decade despite facing all these challenges and bear markets and sort of gained the reputation as most trusted coin and it has the power to swing the market as per it's price. If Bitcoin goes down then entire crypto goes down and if Bitcoin pump then the rippling effect is felt across all the altcoins.

2. Project roadmap and white paper matters:
Regardless of its a small project or big but people will be interested into it only if it has promising features and if it's solving the burning issue of current time as well as how their development is progressing. If a project is already involved in real life services and if it shares their work then definitely it will have user base and investment will flow to them as work needs to happen on ground instead of just mentioning in website or whitepaper but this rarely happens a most of the new project fails to convert their roadmap into reality.
1513  Economy / Economics / Re: Life is cheaper with Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general on: November 18, 2023, 12:29:13 PM
Bitcoin do beat inflation and fiat is no match to that considering the interest we earn from banks. We need to understand one thing that never go with a single asset for all your investments I would rather put 50% or 40% of my investments into Bitcoin followed by a mix of startups,  real estate and stocks. But never with Altcoins on a longer run as you mentioned even if Altcoin reaches ATH it will eventually drop and there is no guarantee that it will pump back hence I would skip Altcoin and yeah hodling fiat is one of the biggest blunders one can make. I would choose Bitcoin over Fiat anyday but need to take entry at the right moment it should be the peak of Bitcoin you invest your funds and wait for years to even make a break even, and occasionally you may convert your hodling to fiat whenever it's at peak of you have invested during bearish market.
1514  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the minimum amount of bitcoin or satoshi should hold for poor? on: November 18, 2023, 08:42:38 AM
There is nothing like minimum or maximum and even if you hodl one bitcoin but don't know how to utilise it or when to cashout you will end up selling at bearish vice versa if you hodl even 0.1 Bitcoin and cashout at the peak you will be richer than the one sold 1 BTC at bearish.

This question seems not valid and rather it should be like what's the minimum amount of Bitcoin one should be hodling as an asset as per their age just like how we do investment planning for other assets like stocks and shares like at 30 one should try to accomplish certain things and have a saving of xxx amount. Similarly concept should apply to Bitcoin.

Here poor will be termed based on the knowledge and wisdom because it doesn't take much time for financial situations to change. Just like hundreds and thousands of us went from having good amount saving in from of FTX to almost zero.
1515  Economy / Speculation / Re: Dump market potential? on: November 17, 2023, 10:41:43 PM
Always DYOR, time to buy = Yes with note do not dream it will double, triple or more from the money you invest on BTC today.
The crazy spike wont happen at this year, be patient for 2-3 years ahead and it will pays.

Massive dump should be not happen this year, whales might pump and dump on other coins but not on BTC anymore.

At this moment even I don't foresee any massive dump but it's time for those who have invested into Altcoins to be on the toes and trade with stop loss because we have noticed today was not a good day for altcoins as we have seen some drastic dump in similar manner of their pump. But, If Bitcoin manages to cross $45k by end of November  then we might have further price increase.
1516  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: An easy approach to Bitcoin on: November 17, 2023, 09:10:56 PM
Why do we even teach kids about Bitcoin at the tender age? I don't think this would be a smart move as it would literally divert their mind because it will make them a rebel against the fiat system which. I think this should be taught at higher secondary level education or during graduation. I would say kids mindset might be more aligned towards bitcoin and crypto if we teach them about it and they will not be interested in the fiat system which is equally important in order to sustain.

Rather, we should be teaching them about more real life skills and technical skills to be a successful person.
1517  Local / India / Re: Indian Supreme court rejects PIL to establish regulations for crypto trading on: November 17, 2023, 07:54:39 PM
Interesting as a scammer who should be rotting in jail for scamming people of their hard earned money is filing petition to regulate crypto trading? If God forbids the crypto trading is regulated then it will lose the basis essential on which crypto came into existence and it will be final nail in coffin because already Indian crypto exchanges are laying off people and at the verge of closing as they lost huge chunk of user due to tax applied for trading.

Hope this scammer don't get bail and no regulation is applied to crypto trading.
1518  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: is it still risky to Invest into Altcoin now? on: November 17, 2023, 07:05:03 PM
I would like to brief about the current market situation as there has been surge in value of altcoins a much higher surge compared to Bitcoin and many would have utilised this momentum to gain profit but if we look at the other side if you just look for top gainers you will find altcoins with top surge but the next day or after few days if you check the top losers you will find the same top gainers in this list as well. So there is a price increase for altcoin but not a established one like Bitcoin, because we have not seen dump in the value of Bitcoin for over an month now but Altcoins has been pumping and dumping and in my opinion it's not worth to make entery for long term as of now it's good only for quick profit whole being very active. What's your opinion ? Shall we invest or just involve in quick trades ?
Making decision to invest in altcoins depends on your risk tolerance, investment goals, and time commitment. Altcoins can be more volatile than Bitcoin, experiencing rapid price fluctuations due to market sentiment. While this volatility can offer opportunities for quick profits in short-term trades, it also poses higher risks. If you mean to invest, you better dont go on unestablished altcoins, the risk is to high. but it can be a good option for trading, because the rapid price fluctuations is a big chance to gain profit, if you have the time to actively monitor the market and make informed decisions.

True, Altcoins can give higher returns in shorter period of time than Bitcoin but it's not guaranteed as Altcoin cannot doesn't have capability to bounce back like Bitcoin but it would be perfect for high risk takes for quick trades and definitely not for beginners unless they go with established Altcoin like Ethereum be because apart from Ethereum we don't have much options even coins like XRP, BNB, ADA and Matic may be risky if you invested at peak and market drops.

I agree with your point that Altcoins are more prefered for active tradings which comes at a risk factor wherein with Bitcoin we can have steady returns of we do it right.
1519  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is NFT and virtual real state project the biggest scam in past 3 years? on: November 17, 2023, 06:12:47 PM
I don't think NFTs are useless or scams, they just ride the trend and eventually it will go down.
What really matters is the value. NFT's value depends on people who want to buy at a certain price and most NFTs are overvalued.

I think it depends on the thing you see something even in the real world, there are many types of collections worth millions of dollars in the auction.
Personally, I didn't get it and it's not worth it for me at least but I am open-minded and I embrace what it is even I don't understand.
Yeah, history bla bla bla and it sounds silly to me, and what if we compared in the digital world?
Right now we spend many hours per day in this Internet world, let's say the digital world.
Let's think the same thing and they think NFTs are collections, Does that make sense?

No, it still don't make sense to me because why would one spend hundreds and thousands and some even spend millions for a piece of digital art, I mean if you are buying a real painting or art works atleast you can exhibit it or keep it at your home or office but the same is not possible with NFT. I am not against people who invested into it for hype as it was a trend but when it comes to real life use case this is useless and those who have spent millions loos like money laundering.
1520  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Disadvantage of bitcoin on: November 17, 2023, 04:47:29 PM
I have been in this situation as I have lost the private key and 12 word recovery phrase of my blockchain wallet which I used in 2015 and even while I type this post I tried twice with familiar password but didn't get lucky. It feels disgusting and frustrating. It's sad that we cannot recover the password, thi is definitely one of the biggest drawback but we have to accept it and have a proper backup and it's my mistake that I didn't take things seriously back then as Bitcoin was just $400 or $250 back then. This will act as a negative point if we are careless and if we have this back up it just adds up to layer of security and it's upto us how we take it.
