When this coin had its "burn" for clearinghouse which was really just a second IPO (lol one wasn't enough) for btcdrak since instead of the Via actually being destroyed (as they are supposed to be in a burn) they went into his pocket so that he could sell them for BTC for his own gain, it became pretty freaking obvious to me what was going on here. And it should be no surprise the price has plummeted since then... What, did people actually think he was just going to hold onto all the Via that was "burned" into his pocket?
It's funny, too, because I could have sworn I brought up this issue when the clearinghouse burn was starting and everybody stepped up to defend btcdrak claiming that he needed the additional funding to continue long-term development on the coin...
Wait... Pardon me for my ignorance as I have started taking interest in VIA after the burn process to acquire XCH. That said, can you post a link where it said that VIA holders should burn (actually send) their coins to a VIA address set up by Drak?

Let's cut the crap. Most of us are just waiting for Bitcoin to finally hit $100 to buy a huge quantity. Am I right or talking out my ass?
You're wrong. Bitcoin at 50 usd is more like it.

This is why bitcoin has massive swings because of the "ohh no its going down better sell" mentality that everyone has. By selling you are only making the price fall even further down this is because you are increasing the supply and it drives the price down because there is not enough demand to buy up all of the supply that is on the market.
This is the speculation sub forum. And it ain't our fault there's not much demand. But the demand is retaliative to the supply it is the seller fault that there is not enough demand. Blame it on the professional miners or maybe the whales who hold a huge amount for selling. I'm pretty sure a majority of people here cannot move the market. As for lack of demand, who's to blame?

Was Peter Todd duped into joining Viacoin? I feel that this all could tarnish his reputation.
One side is technology the otherside is politics. Two completely different universes. VIA is outstanding! Yeah. But if via went down and is branded as a "scam" (a term loosely thrown around here, but still gives a negative connotation), Peter Todd could suffer as well. I've read that he has been receiving 4k usd every month from this project. If that were true then be prepared for "scammer" accusations. Again, a term very loosely thrown around these parts.

wow nice FUD here:) BTW great price support at crptsy:D "VIA is outstanding".... No FUD. Some people who invested money in the project have valid reasons for questioning the trustworthiness of the devs. And what "great price support" at cryptsy? With a .3xx BTC worth of daily volume?? Are you kidding me?

If you really want to store some btc or usd at bitstamp, I suggest sending them to a Ripple wallet from your bitstamp account. You may be holding btc or usd IOU's but they are easy to convert to XRP when bitstamp gets hacked and then sending the XRP to Cryptsy to convert them back to BTC.
Read a post on Reddit about a guy who had around 10 btc worth of bitstamp.btc IOU in Ripple during the hack. He converted them to XRP then sent them to an exchange and traded them for real BTC.

only whales know what will happen. we can guess as much as we want but there is always a 50% chance for it to come true. if it didn't come true you don't see these people anymore. they will then create a new account.
I don't think tokeweed will stop using his hero member account if he gets it wrong. If it was a newbie account it's no problem, but hero member accounts take don't grow on trees. I don't care if I'm right or wrong. Just speculating if it's a good time to convert some BTC to fiat for the time being.

If it doesn't come true, then it doesn't... So what? This is the speculation subforum by the way. So that's what this topic is for. Speculation.

Oh wait, If you are so confident of a drop coming pretty soon, you ought to put everything you have to short bitcoin. And that means selling everything you have including your clothes, car and house to bet on that drop. If you are so confident....
Yeah "if"... But nope. That's why I'm just asking what you guys think.

IMO Bitcoin wont go below 240... I think it might hover around the current price for a little longer, then we might see a nice jump in price. But no one can know for sure.
So there's that possibility that it can go down?

Another drop under 240 usd is just around the corner. Is it a good time to convert some to fiat for the time being?

Lol at the pictures of spices being sold on the website. Very subtle... /s not a website mate that is the wallet the marketplace is built in shadow is the ultimate private trading platform. Can we use Bitcoin in the market place? well yes because you can trade BTC-SDC and then use the SDC to buy things, but possibly i'm not sure yet BTC could also be used as a currency on the Shadow Marketplace Ah. The market should have really good items for sale to make people convert to SDC.

The term millionaire is rooted in fiat. Should BTC replace fiat, 10 coins should be enough to classify as wealthy. That number can be argued. But we need a new term for someone with enough BTC that they are wealthy.
lol. That makes you sound like a bitter lo... So what if they're millionaires.
