15081  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [BUG] Satoshi Nakamoto moving his coins at this moment !!! on: August 04, 2015, 07:18:27 PM
blockchain and their issues. I don't feel safe storing my btc there anymore. time to switch to electrum.

You better did that back then. blockchain.info was known to have several bugs and security flaws for a time now, and it isn't even advisable to store your coins in an online wallet. The mobile app is fine, but with the recurring bugs and security issues, I don't think people would still be confident on doing business with blockchain.info.
15082  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think Bitcoin could bring about world peace? on: August 04, 2015, 07:13:46 PM
"So long as there are men, there will be wars." -Albert Einstein

--

Well it clearly proves a point that as long as humans exists, there will be conflicts and whatnot, usually starting from ideologies, different disputes and conflicting ideas. Bitcoin has nothing to do with world peace, it's just a financial instrument that people can use to somehow free themselves from the oppression of the banks and the governments. Bitcoin is a tool, yes, but not a tool to save the world or help the world attain global peace.

This is quite enticing. Can you offer lower prices for bitcoin customers? And is this legit? o.o

15085  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: how much can you make weekly? on: August 04, 2015, 06:39:32 PM
with bitcoins i can earn 0.04 as im enrolled to the fixed rate campaign and i have to post 20 posts additionally i can earn from faucets like 0.005 and then try my luck on gambling

I don't want you to fell demotivated when people say that you shouldn't gamble, because most of the people who say that have never gambled for real in their entire life. They have no idea how it truly feels, so don't get so influenced b somebody's opinion. I have never gambled online, I am unable to enjoy gambling truly that way. Go gamble in a casino and be smart, come out as a rich man or a man with self control.

A very sound advice telling a person go big or go broke, but hey! It's his decision after all. For the record, I only gambled three times in my life, and that doesn't include bitcoins but rather dogecoins. I made 500,000+ dogecoins out of my 10,000 dogecoins deposit. After three runs, I managed to get 650,000 dogecoins all in all. I won, yes, but after that, I know that I will lose so I stopped and just looked for another option to earn and here I am, posting for a signature campaign and doing some surveys and turks just to earn some extra cash.

If you are curious as to where I did that feat, it is at SatoshiBet, the minesweeper game in there.

But seriously though, as long as you can, stay away from gambling sites because once you get addicted, you will spend every single bit of your earnings just to win it big time.

Not sure if this will be a feasible way of increasing your assets. You know, there are things that requires skill and luck to achieve positive results rather than relying on sheer luck alone. I don't believe on the Martingale method or some other stuff like that, certain algorithms do their jobs on those dice games and other gambling games (except poker and card games) and you cannot actually take advantage of it. I suggest you learn the basics of trading alt coins and see if you can make something out of it. It is equally risky, yes, but if executed perfectly, the risks will be minimized and the chances of you earning is big.
15087  Economy / Economics / Re: Did Bitcoin Ruin Your Life, Or Help Your Life? on: August 04, 2015, 06:11:00 PM
Definitely, not only in financial terms, but also in different knowledge areas specifically economics and politics. Bitcoin opened my eye wider to the things that are actually happening around me. From the greediness of the banks to the overly-obsessed politicians to power, bitcoin helped me see more, see clearer to what is really happening. There is more to bitcoin than just being a financial asset, people. The concept behind it will make you see through what is really happening in our society right now.
15088  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: how much can you make weekly? on: August 04, 2015, 06:06:03 PM
I could make 0.125 BTC weekly or around $35 weekly and it will take me 2 months to earn a single bitcoin if everything goes smoothly

You can make a bit more by joining one of the avatar campaigns and get your 1 btc a little faster.
Leveling up another account to later join another campaign with might also be a good idea.

Farming accounts are not prohibited in this forum, but I think using them for different campaigns will likely be resulted into a ban of the farmed account and the main account (because afaik, every connection of a user is IP logged, so that makes it easier to track who is doing multiple-signature spamming. 15089  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to make Bitcoin transactions untraceable? on: August 04, 2015, 06:00:53 PM
What I usually do is to send x amount of btc to an exchange and withdraw it to a new address. Most of the exchanges do not use the same address if you withdraw your coins. In that way, your coins may be mixed with other coins and will likely be untraceable. Other mixer service also do the thing, but I'm not sure whether your coins would really be that secure or 'mixed' because any time, these mixing services could tell the information to the authorities.
15090  Economy / Speculation / Re: Original Satoshi Nakamoto’s Bitcoins Moving First Time on: August 04, 2015, 05:57:33 PM
Fake. Other block explorers are showing that the addresses that are assumed to be Satoshi's still have the balance intact. See this one for example: https://btc.blockr.io/address/info/12c6DSiU4Rq3P4ZxziKxzrL5LmMBrzjrJX
15091  Economy / Speculation / Re: rpietila Calling the Bottom on: August 04, 2015, 05:55:49 PM
I claim that being "lucky" is having a positive expected value in your projects. That makes some of them succeed greatly, and others perceive you as lucky.

Was it luck to buy Crypto Kingdom gold in December-2014?

I don't think so. I mentioned it to everybody that it is as cheap as it gets (with high risk) and bying is the right thing. Some bought, others not. My friend bought 60,000 CKG so is sitting on quite nice gains.

Your friend isn't lucky, he already knows what he is doing back then. In the case of bitcoin, it is a completely new economy back then: no one knows for certain whether this is going to go big or go broke, whereas CKG was launched (2014) long after bitcoin was launched (2009). At this point in time, there are already people who knows how this works, and if you know what your actions will be, if it yields you a positive result, then it is no longer called luck, but rather skill. Bitcoin is different, because as I've said earlier, it is entirely new. No one knows what to do from point A to point B; they just hold it and luckily it gained traction because people noticed it.
15092  Economy / Economics / Re: Can economies grow ad infinitum? on: August 04, 2015, 05:46:37 PM
-snip-
Why do we let them make this kind of money?

We don't actually let them make this kind of money, but rather we are helping them to make this kind of money by supporting them in their objectives. Also, we are controlled by them (print more and more money for the plebeians, they think it's good lol) and there is not much we can do about it, unless we can find a way to avoid their control (bitcoin, maybe?).
15093  Economy / Speculation / Re: rpietila Calling the Bottom on: August 04, 2015, 05:38:49 PM
The price shows the daily birth rate. I am writing this from a castle that I bought with money earned by trading Bitcoin based on the very premise I have explained to you here.

Don't lose the faith people. Taxes, maintenance, and utilities on these castles aren't cheap (they're very drafty, after all). Risto needs more bag holders to keep up on his payments!

It sucks that some people got filthy rich out of luck by being at the right time doing the right thing

I understand that being at the right time doing the right thing makes you filthy rich, but how is that related to luck??  Huh

Well, not all people experience doing the right thing at the right time i.e. me when bitcoin was in its infancy. If I only knew bitcoin back then, I would have been a millionaire now, but no. Also, no one knows for certain back then that bitcoins would be that big, so I think those who hopped the train early were very, very lucky to be doing the right thing at the right time, and that is before the ATH of Nov. 2013. Well, that was the first wave of luck that bitcoin brought to us so far. Who knows? Maybe there might be another lucky event that at this time, we are going to be included?
15094  Other / Meta / Re: Signed bitcoin messages on: August 04, 2015, 05:25:37 PM
Well, I am not sure whether you meant my thread. Anyway, I hadn't opened it in Meta, but TC opened it on the correct board next, it became more popular, so I just quoted everyone on my thread in his thread.

Why I asked signed messages was:
1. To avoid someone from posting addresses he cannot sign. It is really simple to confuse for someone who is new to this, so my thread made signing address mandatory.
2. To make people figure out how to sign the message first, rather than trying to figure it out then.
3. No one can post someone else's address (assuming date is included) due to error or for fraud.

It is a good way, if you prefer awareness over simplicity.

1. well, IMO no users will post address that they dont own or they cant sign (newbies aside but there should a be message in the OP that should only post address that the user have full control)

2. i agree to this

3. why should someone post someone else's address? can you help me with this?

The point number 3 on ndnhc's post only tells you that you cannot use someone's address for fraud or scamming because first and foremost, you cannot prove that you have control over that address because you cannot sign a simple message using that address.

https://blockchain.info/de/address/1B8BgCRpoJvwTtwVczRLvUiGY6PToqAJ3E

I think this adress from bitmixer 1B

where you know that is satosi nakamoto ?

Most of the assumed Satoshi Nakamoto's addresses received a transaction from 2009 - early 2010. The only miner that time was satoshi and it is logical to believe that because he was the only miner, he would also receive the first coins to his addresses.

Hello, just a noob question, when will I become a senior member? Any exact or estimate date?
I will lock this thread after I got a decent answer
Thanks

Check this thread. This is where the member group limits are located and with clear explanation of how a certain rank is attained: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=237597.0

EDIT: Seems that you already got the answer that you wanted. Time to close this thread now, I guess.

Uhhm, nope. blockr.io still gives me 50.00001000 as the final balance of that address. http://btc.blockr.io/address/info/1JfbZRwdDHKZmuiZgYArJZhcuuzuw2HuMu So much excitement, I thought someone still have the control of that address.

EDIT: Why does blockhain.info returns a different output?

15098  Other / Meta / Re: Activity & new membergroup limits on: August 04, 2015, 05:03:20 PM
how do u get a legendary status? i've had my account for quite some time since 2011. just only recently started posting.

Well, just follow the member group limits. At 480 activity, you will be a Hero Member. As to what ColderThanIce pointed, achieving Legendary rank is guaranteed between 775 and 1030 activity. Oh and you said that you have that account since 2011? There is no way to boost your rank into Legendary even though you should be one right now. If you stopped posting on the biweekly periods, then you miss the chance of gaining 14 activity points, and there is no way you can regain those lost activity points by posting too many posts. This is what I like on the member group limits--you cannot game the system even though you've been here since the beginning of this forum. Smiley
15099  Other / Meta / Re: Is there a way to follow someone here on the forum? Notification when they post? on: August 04, 2015, 04:57:05 PM
When I want to follow a user, I'll memorize his/her username, then Google him/her (like if you search 'el kaka22' at Google, the first result comes out will be my bitcointalk profile). Then check for his/her last posts. You will see that user's newest posts on top. That's how I've followed another user in the past.

Same thing here, but I realized that memorizing the user ID would save you some time in searching the name of the bitcointalk profile in a search engine. Idk but I find it more convenient than typing the name of the user (especially if it's a long and sometimes unintelligible.)
15100  Other / Off-topic / Re: What to do if i bought a new account? on: August 04, 2015, 04:54:27 PM
Not necessary, I think. Just stake your address in the "Stake your bitcoin address here." thread on the meta section and you shall be fine. Also, don't forget to change your password and email immediately after the deal is closed, or else the seller will still have control of the account you have just bought.
