I had the opposite (not happy) recent experience: I put on an order, used coupon, then asked them to apply my credit.
Got no response, order expired and now they are out of stock.
If they don't respond in time about credit, then what's the point?
Basically, I wasted a $175 coupon on this nonsense.

You keep emailing politely over and over and over.

They will fill it.

The exact same thing happened to me philipma1957

The exact same thing happened to buysolar

In both cases they let us  do the expired order.

Send them an email  and refer the this thread and this post.

Ask them hey what about me.

Ask them again and again polite.

They can be silly slow but they have fixed things for many of us.

Been really sick  cold/flu whatever.

My wife was so sick  her cold/flu is now pneumonia.  She is in the hospital due  to come home  today.

She did get better they gave her antibiotics via intravenous.

My local hospital has 284 beds  the nurses were telling me 215 of the 284 beds  have people with

cold/flu/pneumonia symptoms  kind of frightening  to think of those numbers.

Makes me think gpus/asics/cryptocoins are not that important.

I was on nicehash  today  and read this

https://www.nicehash.com/blog/post/cuckaroom-algorithm-to-support-grin-hard-fork

"Cuckaroom algorithm to support Grin hard fork!

Dear NiceHash buyers!

To support the Grin hard fork, we are introducing the new algorithm on our hash-power marketplace. Cuckaroom is (a new Grin algorithm) now available and you can already start with placing orders!

UPDATE: Grin fork is now LIVE! Cancel your Grincuckarod orders and replace them with Cuckaroom orders as soon as possible!

Announcements regarding the NiceHash Miner and NHOS to support this hard fork will be published in the separate press release. "

I would not mind  setting up some units  to mine  the new fork.

Does any one have a bat for simplemining os to run a gpu rig to nicehash.

I do not have much time  with my wife in hospital to figure it out.

get well soon Phil and to your wife too

Also good news. I am glad you got a refund.

I have to say bitmain has behaved beyond my expectations.

Other then looking at every post from 2014 to 2016 how do I find my post for staking.  I am fairly sure I Staked my address in the first 100 pages of this thread.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=996318.msg16278790#msg16278790

Search "philipma1957" in search engine in this thread.

Thank you I just looked from pages 50 to 124

since I am on page 222  I had a long time left to look.

I also learned something about how to find certain things on the website.

Yeah  I also pay 7% New Jersey sales tax

So I do 27.6 + 7 = 34.6% when fully taxed.

Now I grabbed

8x m10's under 799 one at a time zero trump tax
14x s17 pro from malaysia zero trump tax

But  was stuck on

2 a1066
1  s17
1  s17 pro      tax on those 4 was over 2000 plus sales 7% tax from NJ  about 500 =  2500 tax.
15147  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: A tip on buying cheaper mining ASICs from Bitmain (January 2020) on: January 16, 2020, 01:40:04 PM
YOU HAVE A CREDIT BALANCE!!  this is good.

read through here. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5201488.0

Then tell me how much is the balance.

It is complicated  and you will need to email bitmain often but you get the credit fully.

Ie   a 600 usd credit  you get it all just do an order for like 700

use a 10% coupon  drops the price to 640.  don't pay  email and ask them to apply that credit.

Got email confirmation at 0130am est.   Bitmain btc refund went thru to my wallet

Very  good news.  The  bitmain refund process has been slow.

My refund was due from  Sept 27  to paid Dec 25.

A lot of people have been helped by this thread.

I got 1189 credit faster
then the 140 btc refund

But I was entitled to those amounts.
I wrote many emails but it has worked out.
15150  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: A tip on buying cheaper mining ASICs from Bitmain (January 2020) on: January 16, 2020, 11:11:59 AM
okay, say i would like to buy 5 s9 miners with power supply, does this mean i can use 5 (order coupon) ? in other words can i get more than 10% off from the total order

No

it is very simple math.

the s9k is $97.00 dollars  the most you can discount it is $9.70   if you have 10% coupons.

so  for instance I have 2x 41 dollar coupon total of 82 in coupons.

if I buy 1 s9 use 41 coupon I get 9.70 off and it will reject that second coupon.
if I buy 2 s9 use 41 coupon I get 19.40 off and it will reject that second coupon
if I buy 3 s9 use 41 coupon I get 29.10 off and it will reject that second coupon
if I buy 4 s9 use 41 coupon I get 38.80 off and it will reject that second coupon

if I buy 5 s9 use both 41 coupons I get 48.50 off  it will use all of one 41 and part of the second 41 coupon.

you max would be  buying 8 units  8 x 97 = 776   and you use 77.60 of the 2x 41=82 coupons.
15151  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: It is 2020 time for a new diff thread. on: January 15, 2020, 11:27:10 PM
I have a colleague I trust who has been studying this for years now. He predicts that at the top of the next 4 year bull run cycle, mining hashrate will be at 80 gigawatts and the minimum mining price will be around $50k/btc. He believes BTC price will land somewhere between $140k-$220k at the next ATH.

He points to things like this : https://www.coindesk.com/sbi-gmo-to-rent-capacity-at-massive-bitcoin-mine-in-texas-report

and also to Bitmains goal of selling 30 million new miners in the next 2 years. If they hit that goal, and maintain 75% market share, it would equate with 80 gigawatts of power on the network.

I know smaller miners I talk to laugh at the idea that mining growth has an effect on price, but one can argue, looking historically, that mining/price relationship is like the chicken/egg scenario. He makes the argument that during bull runs, miners fomo into mining - they can't help themselves - they buy as much or more than they can afford as profitability outpaces hash. Eventually hash piles up too and price goes down.  But the hash stays mostly in creating a new much higher price floor. Then the cycle begins all over again.

He believes as mining evolves the larger players will become utility owners and governments. The big farms in that article will become common place and new bigger farms will emerge.

There is a gear factor for sure. Bitmain surely wants to sell.

Of course bsv and bch can use the same gear.
15152  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain introduces the Antminer S17 Pro, Antminer S17, and the Antminer T17 on: January 15, 2020, 10:44:48 PM
Yeah    a reseller will say price is 775 on a s17+ unit thus no trump tax, but I simply am not interested in doing business that way.

There is a big issue  of owing a lot if it gets found out.

Lets say you order 10x 2000 dollar units    20,000  tax should be around 5500.   you pay  much less 500.  Then 10 months later you get a huge bill for the gear.  5000 or 6000 bucks.  I don't need it hanging over my head.
15153  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] 10-pack of NEW EVGA 1300w G2 PSU on: January 15, 2020, 03:10:02 PM
Like the title states. I have 10 NEW (unopened) EVGA G2 1300w PSU (complete with cables etc in box, never opened, 10 year warranty) Power Supples taking up space in my datacenter. New these are probably ballpark $200 each (More like $250 but I'm sure you can find them on a deal for less), but I'll take $1200 shipped for all of them.

Escrow is fine through Minerjones (he's escrowing some other sales) or we can figure it out. Shipping only to U.S

What is shipping to 07731?

The only Malaysian gear for me has been the s17 pros.

Every one since Nov 1 has come from Malaysia.
15155  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: New Antminer T17 issues on: January 15, 2020, 12:42:58 PM
By disconnecting 1 of 3 boards you may have shifted the board counter over
Hard to tell exactly what you did.

If you could disconnect two boards and boot and do full code of log

then do two boards again  show full log

then do two boards again show full log.

each time you do this make sure

board 0  on first try is connected
board 1  on second try is connected
board 2 on third they is connected.

if you always get 1 board to work and if it is a different board each time you may not have a board issue.

then try with 2 boards connected   make board 0 disconnected
try 2 boards connected make board 1 disconnect
try 2 boards connected make board 2 disconnect

if you always get 2 boards to work  you may not have a board issue

lastly try all three and if board zero does not work I suspect the psu  which means order a psu

https://shop.bitmain.com/product/detail?pid=0002019072316001724716dkNtX50679

looks like it is sold out  may need to wait til feb to get one.

https://hmtech.co/   is in use they got me a psu for my m20s from whatsminer  maybe they have a t17 psu

but do the trouble shooting before you buy a psu.

There is a cost analysis since you are getting 2 boards to work right now spending 200 for a psu many not pay off.

If you are off 14 th that is about 2 dollars a day with free power if your power is a dollar it is a dollar a day so a 200 dollar psu will take 200 days to pay off.  The ½ ing comes in 120 days. So using 2 boards may be your best choice.

Hope your wife gets better.

yeah she is stable.  antibiotics seem to be helping her.

I am also sick just not as bad as her.

Kind of puts all this into prospective.  It is nice to play with the asics and the other gear, but your health of yourself and your family is pretty much priceless. It is far more important then this is.

I just woke up to cough and hack and etc. So I went to website as no-one is home and I can not sleep. I will visit the wife in hospital tomorrow.

My local hospital has 215 beds out of 284 filled with people with respiration infections. Nurses were telling me it is the worst they have ever been. In terms of flu/pneunomia etc.

15159  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could this be a bullish sign as halving approaches? on: January 15, 2020, 04:55:06 AM
Well we backslid  to 8625   from 8818.

So it could be false hope.   Or maybe a few  larger miners cashed out to pay bills.

in 24-36 hours we will be at 7900 or 9050

That will tell us if we are heading for a bull run.

I mine a lot so I sold off some coin at 8700-8800

I held some for later on.

If you mine  at 2ph levels or higher you always end up selling some coins when mini runs happen.

2ph of all good gear is around 100kwatts an hour  or 72,000 watts a month at 3 cent cost that is 2160 USD

So a good farm is going to sell some coin on these upticks.

I sold about 2000 USD worth of coin  I am around 2ph.

I still hold coins. As I hope to see 9k plus prices soon

Shitty farms simply  convert 90% or more of mined coins to cash.

7148 Jan 1 price  8094 Jan 13 price a 13.23% price jump  good move.

diff jump around 8.2%

this is an excellent epoch for us miners.  13.2-8.2 = 5%  in miners favor.

I can work with this.
