I reinstalled Windoze from scratch and .. yeah, stupid, I didn't think to save the blockchain data. Is there any (official?) bootstrap or blockchain file I could use?

Hi, I am not sure if you meant to post here or PM for the coupon, so I'll do both.

I want to start using Monero crypto currency.
I do not want to install the client.
Is there a paper wallet available or a similar secure option?
Thanks!
There is a web wallet run by one of XMR devs at https://mymonero.com/#/ - Not sure if it's still charges an initial fee though. Download the binaries, unpack, run simplewallet.exe --generate-new-wallet temp.wallet Put any password you want, even random. Pick a language - preferably the one your keyboard is set on. If you don't know, pick English. On the screen you will see (separately) a list of 25 words. Those you have to write down and keep safe, it's the only way you will be able to spend your money. Write: Save that string, keep it at hand. You can now exit and even delete temp.wallet and temp.wallet.keys. What you have now: 1. A list of words to generate a full spend wallet whenever you want. 2. A viewkey you can use to create a view-only wallet. 3. The content of temp.wallet.address.txt is your address. You can send money there. This is the closest I know to paper wallet. But if you want to check the amount inside your wallet, you still need to make a wallet (even view only) and use a wallet software, since for Monero you can't just see on "blockchain" how much money anybody has. If anybody knows more/better, please tell.

I think that people will also ask why the company name is not shown in the browser / certificate (Extended Validation SSL encryption). I mean like this:

It's not impossible. Just you must lucky Very lucky. 10000 claim and one 33k winner! In the following days more people will win 33k satoshi! Actually either the code, either the displayed text is broken. Check for yourself: 333 (100.8%), 3333 (0.1%), 33333 (< 0.1%) satoshi every 15 minutes.

Is it better to have 2FA authentication code in your bitcoin site? Ex: Faucets, investments, and wallets? What is the advantages and disadvantages of having 2FA code in your account? Thanks!
2FA makes your account safer. It's easier to steal a static password (phishing) than also steal the 2FA key. Disadvantage - if your phone is lost, stolen or at least its battery is drained, you may not log in. You also have to make sure you don't delete the authenticator program. I have this app "Google Authenticator" and I used this in my Primedice account. What if I lost my phone? Is there a way to retrieve the google authenticator in my phone? Or maybe can I just log-in in Google? Each and every site, when you activate 2FA, has to also offer a "secret key". That's your only chance to "retrieve" authentication, so keep it safe. If your phone is lost, you can duplicate the authentication feature on another phone with this secret key. But if your phone is lost or stolen, your 2FA app is stolen with it and other may have access to your wallet. Log in to Google doesn't help. They don't spy on you that bad

Why switch? There can be more than one. Coins and technologies are not jealous on each other There are altcoins that - imho - have already better features than Bitcoin. I own some of this and some of that. But you know, you don't have the smartest and the best to be the king. Bitcoin is still the king and will be for a while...

This seems to be the most useful tool made for Bitcoin lately.
The fees are too big for my liking, but maybe in time, when more and more will use this, you'll decrease them.

I have noticed so many players are just gambling for the sake of profits only. But majority of them loses most of the games eventually as they are not smart players.
So how should we gamble in a smart way so that we do not get more frustrations due to continuous losses?
Gambling is for fun. It should be a way to spend nicely some time. It doesn't have to be done for profit. If you try to gamble for profit, the big chance it to lose. And not only money... Most games are made in a way you can really beat them only by luck. And that means that whatever others say, sooner or later you'll lose. For example, on a high/low game, you always have less than 50% chance to win, which means, on the long run, that the only winner is the house.

this is a nice info sir so we can expect that bitcoin stability right now showing us the possibility of rising the price if we will see the graph the trading condition of bitcoin was stable not too much fluctuation so after recession bitcoin will pump up again. I will invest and hold my bitcoin to make sure that I will get a good rewards.
FYI: "Never invest based on advice from strangers." I don't want to be responsible of your loses if I am wrong.

there always have been a similar pattern happening before any rise. it is called accumulation phase and it is when everybody is buying as much as the item as they can while the price is low and stable. you can see it as a nearly flat line on the charts which will lead to a rise after this phase ended.
I wanted to say you are wrong, I wanted to say that a stable period may also precede a recession of the price. However, from what I understood from the charts, the history of Bitcoin tells that you are right. After stable periods, if a recession happened, that was rather small. Instead, if a rise happened, that was rather big.

Payments are on their way.
am i the only one missing payment? No, mine haven't come yet also. also since the company changed name from bit-x to CoinsBank are we going to have new signatures designed to replace these old ones?
I am almost sure that Marco will announce this at the right time. He may be busy with the payments though... I'd like to add that a signature change is needed fast, since there's already another business around with a name very close to bit-x and I feel like I am advertising that one...

I remember CLAM was distributed for free. You had to have a certain amount of coins in your BTC or DOGE wallet and you could claim a fair amount of CLAM. But I don't know of other such coins..

I have a idea that i would be working on soon. I am planning to develop a site where the user would enter their BTC then they would get a short link so that they don't need to remember the whole address. This would make exchange of address easier. Now the user would have to remember just a 2 digit number. To customize the link address, the user would pay few satoshis to get a custom link.
There's btcaddr.es already and it's free. I doubt that people will pay for your service only to make it 2 chars instead of maybe 5 or so....

The price of BTC is going to continue its stable multi-week run.
This is good for businesses. Stable price means less complaints. It means that even if a business will actually sell the BTC obtained, it will receive the expected quantity of fiat. If this trend keeps up, more businesses will accept BTC imho

This is a rather creepy thread....
I think that unfortunately Italy has a big chance to be the next, but really, I hope that's not gonna be any "next" at all....
