I sincerely doubt the devs at HVC committed fraud.

They had a hiccup with the launch.

Now it is out of there hands what people do to try to mine the coin.

I honestly believe they delivered on their promise - albeit a small hiccup. That is all.

If the shoe fits, wear it, lowlife

your arguments lack cohesion, im pretty sure the shoe only fits in your blinkered little world. This is you - "boo hoo Ive got a shit pc and havent been able to make million off mining cryptocurrency".

Actually, it's more like you're the one crying saying "boo hoo ... you were mislead and some of you were defrauded but what's wrong with that? As long as I profit, fuck the ones who were misled"

who has been mislead? nobody at all, I don't have a huge setup but at the same time i'm not naive enough to think that you can get something out of absolutely nothing. Please carry on inbreeding in your family as it's clearly adding to your intellect, lol.

So if someone invests in something being told "it is fully decentralized and distributed" but then find out it's one man in his mom's basement doing all the work, it doesn't constitute fraud? You may be just some chump low-grade miner but there are people who invested money and lost because the developers flat out lied about how the launch would go and then depended on the community to fix what he could not do on his own while he got paid 100% of the money and got to make sure the mining was distributed disproportionately. That's immoral regardless what excuse you make up for it. Can't really blame you though, I blame your your parents, Ching & Chong.

I think it's a moot point if the coin was launched by a guy in his Mom's basement. That fact, irregardless of if it's true; would not make the IPO and release of this coin fraud. Fraud is deliberately deceiving someone you are making a deal with in order to gain an advantage.  1.) In a sense, all IPOs are in a fraud- as the insiders have the certain advantage. They are selling "phantom ownership" and get all the cash up front. 2.) A botched launch doesn't constitute fraud either; as it would have to prove the delay was intentional. I doubt it was, they likely had issues. 3.) The mining after launch was just fine. While I didn't invest in the IPO; I did find 2 blocks with just 1 Dual Xeon in the first day.

By investing in an IPO, stocks, coins, or whatever; you run the risk of loss from the get go. However, look at Facebook:

Facebook suffered a botched launch.

Stock suffered during first month or two.

Now it is trading at nearly double it's IPO price.

I've since moved over to 1GH. Seems to be working fine. Getting almost 1MHash with my single 48 core Xeon system.

I mined 2 blocks solo mining, but have switched to pool as the difficulty is higher now.

This coin could show promise.  I realize the developers did in fact have issues with the roll out; but that happens. Look at Facebook- and they had billions of dollars on the hook.

My point is that the coin got released; I like many others were able to mine with no issues from the time it was released; and now pools are open.

I've been mining Memorycoin MMC on 1GH with no problems; and good returns for months. So it's nice to see that 1GH has picked this coin up. Super simple to use, and I've never had issues.

Just go to http://hvc.1gh.com/ - download the CPU miner; add your address to the Bat file; and start the miner!

Hope this helps!   Grin

I found a total of 2 blocks with a single dual E5-2697 v2 system (48 cores).  I started mining pretty much within minutes of launch, but my first block wasnt until 7 hours later. I wasn't watching the system so I dont know what difficulty was at that time, but I got block 1 and 2 7 and 12 hours after launch.  So I have about 1300 coins... are they worth anything?
1525  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [HVC] Heavycoin - CPU-only, Ultra-secure, Decentralized Voting on: March 09, 2014, 06:59:29 AM
I think judging by watching how things unfolded today, the fact that 1gh is now mining with what appears to be GPUs, and the fact that I mined from near the genesis block with over 100 cores and only found 1 block;

Heavycoin is just another coin. Nothing more. Nothing less.

1528  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CPU Mining - MemoryCoin - Found Profitable Strategy! on: March 08, 2014, 06:22:23 PM
1. MemoryCoin is a scam

Personally never had any issues mining or trading into LTC on BTER.

2. FreeTrade (MMC developer) is dodgy

Ok, well again, I havent ever dealt with this person so I cant comment only that we've been mining for months with no issues.

3. Your math is based on variables

True.

4. Power Consumption will be more like 80-84 watts using an i7-4770K (and you haven't included *any* power prices in your estimations)

I am lucky in that I have free access to unlimted, literally, AC.  Enough to run 100 rigs if I had the setup.

5. If you think a $335 CPU is going to be worth $200 in 12 months, you're probably not very familiar with a thing called "depreciation"

Intel CPUs hold value until the next TICK or TOCK. Which is typically 8-10 months. Until the upcoming TOCK, which will likely be October, prices on the 4770k will remain pretty much the same. I would think I could get $250-$275 for the processor on ebay. Regardless, it's not a $350 cost as there is resale value on back end.

6. "Total Investment" doesn't include Motherboard, RAM, PSU or HDD - your "Total Investment" is based on ALREADY owning 12 systems capable of handling an i7-4770K

Total Investment shouldnt. I added these to our Litecoin rigs. So the only cost "Added" to mine the MMC or any CPU coin for that matter is the CPU.  Less cost of Sempron ($60), and the cost is even lower. You need at least a basic CPU to mine LTC.

Next time you want to promote a shitty coin - make sure you use a "Self Moderated" thread like the other devs do - so you can delete anything you don't agree with - like the MemoryCoin devs do.

Next time you post a response to someone; try not being such a jerk about it. Wink

THis is a joke , after 7 hours the pools are not working.
Dev and friends are solo mining with big rigs till they are rich enoufh, then they will open pools , after that they will dump the coins.
Sadly..

Just STFU will you, I mean I can ignore you but really just shut your face you ignorant fuck. I hope you have downs or something because that is the only reason to act this way and I apologize then for picking on the retarded
Hooray. We have one ignorant person getting another ignorant person to use bad language that also has the benefit of being insensitive to handicapped people. Welcome to the Internet.

To the original idiot, here's a thought: if 1000+ people all show up at launch to try and mine a heavily promoted new coin, perhaps -- just PERHAPS -- you and your single CPU aren't likely to find any coins in the first few hours. It's not all the dev and his friends, it's EVERYONE WHO WANTS TO that is contributing hash rate to HVC and making it hard for you to find coins. Deal with it.

Some quick and dirty math suggests that in order for us to be at difficulty 20, the total network hash rate right now is approximately 716 MHash/sec. Considering an i7-4770K will do around 80 KHash, that means we have the equivalent of TEN THOUSAND i7-4770K CPUs mining HVC right now.

So if you want to solve a block, your chances with a single CPU or even multiple CPUs is pretty damn small. Even with 800 KHash available, I have not yet solved a block, and unless I get lucky I will be without any HVC until the pools get functional and I can start getting smaller payouts.

All the whining right now really amounts to this: "I thought I had a great idea to mine this coin at 0-hour and I was going to be the only one there and I'd walk away with thousands of HVC and be rich enough to move out of my parents' basement!" Apparently you weren't the only one with that idea. Shocking.

Agreed Trog... People expect way to much in terms of instant returns.  I have 12 4770ks running and 2 dual 2697s, so now I'm up to 192 Cores.  Mining with wallet in Win 8 64.  Have yet to find a block... but I'm gonna turn of my screens, go enjoy my saturday, and maybe with some luck there will be some HVC in my wallets by this evening.

As soon as the pools open up everyone with small rigs, or single systems can get in on the action and collect 1, 2 perhaps 3 coins a day if they are lucky.

This is the linux heavycoin minerd compiled by me. Works fine, compiled fresh from the source.

sha256 sum = d2722bfc29e103fb8b5478e604325402a1e70dca749655f6fd2daa551f778b04

Going to compile the Windows minerd for you guys.

Would it also work on 64 bit Windows?

I'm running it on both Win 7 and Win 8.1 Enterprise - both being 64 bit. Running just the Windows Wallet that was provided. Seems to be running fine - though no blocks yet.

Keeping my rigs on MMC until I see something with the 96. If I hit a block, or if the pools open, I'll point the rigfarm over. Then I'll be hashing at 672 cores.

But serious... not 1 block on 96 cores since difficulty 1?
1532  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [HVC] Heavycoin - CPU-only, Ultra-secure, Decentralized Voting on: March 08, 2014, 05:29:20 PM
800 KH spread over quite a few systems. 0 blocks found so far, but since they're all running the Windows wallet that might not be surprising. Anyone got a Windows minerd binary yet?

96 Cores running on 4 machines, since difficulty 1.2

Nada.  Getting 150k hash per machine, but no found blocks.

My rig farm has a total of 300 cores at 3.5ghz (approx).  Should I be looking at solo or pool mining at launch time?
