Tell me how it's better than say ... catcoin ?

What makes Bitcoin or Litecoin better than CatCoin?

Well bitcoin is the original so no comments there, let's assume bitcoin scrypt is better than ltc because there are more ltc total. But catcoin has 21m total, scrypt. Why is bitcoin scrypt better? Is it faster, more secure, energy saving, 51% resistant, multipool resistant or is it just litecoin with a smaller market cap and has bitcoin in the name ?

Having Bitcoin in the name does help a lot, got to admit.

So that's the only plus .. well damn point me to a pool I want to waste my 10 mh on it because I like the name.

what makes them better is they were the first of their kind! and who would take CatCoin seriously? are you gonna invest 1million $ into something called CatCoin?

I won't.

Think about it.

Bitcoin Scrypt has been around since september 2013.

The name is perfect, hashrate is growing, value is rising.

Not to pump it, just to let you know: Bitcoin Scrypt = the next big thing.
every coin is the next big thing.

Thanks for your response, what coin are you supporting?
all of them,because every coin has a chance to be big or die. No coin offers anything over the other most of the time. Like this coin,is it just another scrypt coin but called bitcoin scrypt? This seems like it would confuse people having two different bitcoins

Bitcoin scrypt jane? i hear that is coming soon.

Cryptohunter _O_

You are a great critic. I like that, and your sharp answers.

One of the purposes of Bitcoin sCrypt is to keep it out of the hands of ASIC mining companies. I think switching to Scrypt Jane or Scrypt-N would be very wise, when the first Scrypt asics are released.

what happens when they just build a  farm of gpus. its already happening! highest mh/s for one person i seen so far is 643

True, but still a GPU is available for all of us GPU miners and can be bought on every corner.
It's impossible to protect against every whale.

that's why theres a litecoin sigh.................

But Litecoin isn't Bitcoin sCrypt!

Litecoin is "the coin that will be on Gox soon!".

Bitcoin sCrypt doesn't make promises it can't keep.

Who sell V for that much    0.00003910

SUckkkkaaaaaaaaaaaaa

They dumped because the situation we're currently under allowed a vast amount of coins to be created.
This is what the developer is trying to fix.
In my opinion, we should return back in time, exactly where the problem was spotted: on block 41385 (current).

Let's give some space to the developer to run his tests. It's not an easy task to try to predict what will happen an hour from now, with all that hashing power and all those algorithms running only on certain circumstances.

Actually, the "vast amount of coins" isn't that many.

In the first 10,000 blocks with 25 V reward, only 250,000 V were mined (10,000 * 25).
We are currently at block 60,000 so that's another 200,000 V (50,000 * 4).

That makes a total of only 450,000 V currently existing.

I hold ~ 2,100 V, let's see where it goes Smiley

Dammit, and I thought I was being so clever spotting that Sad

It was clever you spotted it Smiley But reading the OP would have helped too  Wink
1533  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: there is no cent coin exchange available on the cryptsy.com any more!!!! on: March 11, 2014, 07:46:44 PM
Cryptsy suspended it because of low volume and price.You can't sell it anywhere , we're stuck with it.If only BTER allowed CENT deposits I would be rich!!

BTER is selling their own stack of PoS coins, that's why they don't allow CENT deposits.
1534  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MtGoxCoin Block 1 reward is 972000 compared to the normal 25 on: March 11, 2014, 07:45:04 PM
Just looked over the source code for MtGoxCoin and this has not come up yet.

The following sets the reward on block 1 to 972000 on block one. Normal block reward is 25. Considering this I would advise against mining or buying this coin as an investment.

Code:
int64 static GetBlockValue(int nHeight, int64 nFees)
{
    int64 nSubsidy = 25 * COIN;

if (nHeight == 1)
nSubsidy = 972000 * COIN;

    return nSubsidy + nFees;
}

Quote
Premine and Compensation for Mt.Gox losses

We pre-mined the coin to be able to compensate every person who lost coins on Mt.Gox.

We want to give every person as many MtGox Coins as their last balance was on Mt.Gox when they closed shop. But of course it can not be guaranteed we will reach this goal within a reasonable time frame.

Disclaimer: We will not take part of any action to have this mtgox database or any personal information of it's user.

We are working on getting the coin on as most exchanges as possible so everyone can trade early and safely.

But first, we will give donations to all who help us grow the coin in some way or another.

No, it has not come up yet  Roll Eyes
