eduffield, please take a look at this post.  It's got a great graph that explains what happens when the difficulty rises, and I think it's really useful for people to understand what is happening when mining.
Check out this post

Well, I'm officially gonna stop mining after all I said.  It's so much work to keep an eye on, and I really have a hard time using my computer.  I haven't gamed in a month!  LOL.

So I'm gonna relax
Im gonna game etc...

I have my Amazon tiny pointed at lottery coin, but it gets so little.

So, if I had a dedicated mining rig, sure I'd keep mining this coin, but now I'm pooped and want to get back to normal, LOL

I'll be there on Wednesday though to see how the test goes!!
1523  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | Anonymous (alpha) | KGW | No Premine | ASIC Resistant on: February 18, 2014, 02:47:06 AM
so is it worth mining this coin with 2mhs?

I don't know, but I'm mining with my computers getting a lot less, LOL.  I think it all depends on how much each coin will be worth in the future.  I think there is a possibility that it could replace bitcoin, but I doubt anyone else is that optimistic.  There are a lot of things that could go wrong, so my future view could be pretty improbable... I have no idea if it's worth mining.HuhHuh

I'm with you, in the future this coin could reach 100BTC worth, Darkcoin have a lot of coins less than BTC.

Being realistic though, there is a tremendous amount of money invested in bitcoin as well as infrastructure. Darkcoin has it's place in the world but it's most likely not as number #1 cryptocurrency. Although it can be #1 in a lot of aspects and gain tremendous value, absolutely no doubt about it. The important thing is being down to earth about it and not forcing the coin to grow artificially like scammaxcoin for example.

I totally agree, just saying.. in my own way .. that I do think it's worth mining, but I may not be the best to judge, ROFL

is it even worth it to mine this coin given the current difficulty level? I have abt 12mh/s

It's only gonna get harder???

We just got added to their site! For those who don't know I will be speaking about DarkSend/Darkcoin at the Cryptocurrency Convention.  Smiley

It's the wrong link, I asked him to fix that.

How are you going to out speak tittie coin? They have the power of tits in a convention of varying degree of nerds on the histrionic scale. That's like taking meth before a 100m sprint.

Is there only one large mining pool for this coin?  That is just as bad a premining.

I believe the official pool has stopped accepting new subscriptions in order to get people to spread out, but we have like 6 pools.

I don't understand why that's like premining?  How do you get that?  It is, however, a problem for the integrity of the blockchain.

Is smalltimeminer pool down? Why haven't network hashrate lowered? It had more than 1GH/s

I think it's down.. all my miners just timed out

Likewise here - still down I guess?

I need to take this advice as well, but set up a backup account and run something like this then save as a bat file:

@ECHO OFF
:: Miner Failover Script

:: Will continously try each pool until one responds, ordered by priority.
:: If proxy is desired, set to 1.

:GLOBAL
:: Set options
SET RETRIES=3
SET SECONDS=5
SET PROXY=0
SET PROXYURL=http://proxyip:port

:POOL1
:: Set userpass information for first pool
SET USERPASS1=User.Miner:Password
SET URL1=stratum+tcp://Pool:Port

:POOL2
:: Set userpass information for second pool
SET USERPASS2=User.Miner:Password
SET URL2=-o stratum+tcp://Pool:Port

:CHECK
:: Check if proxy is flagged
IF %PROXY%==0 GOTO NOPROXY
IF %PROXY%==1 GOTO WITHPROXY

:NOPROXY
:: Normal connect
minerd -a X11 --retries=%RETRIES% --retry-pause=%SECONDS% --userpass=%USERPASS1% --url=%URL1% -t 3
minerd -a X11 --retries=%RETRIES% --retry-pause=%SECONDS% --userpass=%USERPASS2% --url=%URL2% -t 3
GOTO NOPROXY

:WITHPROXY

we are growing, come and help mine darkcoin, and get a chance of winning the lottery pool.

once a week 50% of the fees, plus ive added a 100 drk on top, will be drawn,
to one lucky winner... is it your turn next?

Witdrawal fee: 0.0
Please spread your hashing power, we dont want 1 pool to have >50%

I'm having trouble logging in to the site too chaos, just get a blank screen that never gets loaded.

hmm strange, cause i tried with firefox (i never use firefox) and it loads the page just fine, please try again,

I only have trouble getting on the dashboard.  It's slow for some reason, and I'm guessing something gets kicked around in there for a while before its overridden or something.  The other pages always load normally and my hashing is fine.  The coin per day guesstimate is VERY optimistic though, LOL
1532  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | Anonymous (alpha) | KGW | No Premine | ASIC Resistant on: February 18, 2014, 01:40:42 AM
I really can't compute the More's law to find out how the payout is effected by the difficulty and I don't understand why the blocks take so long to resolve?

aren't blocks supposed to be delivered and calculated ever so many minutes?  If we get stuck on a block for hours, does that mean that confirmations can't happen, and coins are stuck in limbo?  The trade can't complete??

Obviously, that's not the case, as my  money is coming in ok, and clears pretty fast. But. if anyone has the skills to make a graph showing difficulty vs payouts or something, that'd be so nice to have, also if there is any way to guesstimate how long a block takes to solve, that'd be also nice to have as a reference (block difficulty*hash rate or something vs time?)

TanteStefana,

Here an exemple of the rewards :

(2222222.0 / (pow((dDiff+2600.0)/9.0,2.0))) // If DIFF > 75

(11111.0 / (pow((dDiff+51.0)/6.0,2.0)))  // If diff < 75

Current Diff is 124.96

Calculation (2222222 / (((Difficulty+51)/6)^2)) About to be broken Down =

Step 1.) 124 + 2600= 2724

Step 2.) 2724 / 9 = 302.6

Step 3.) 302.6 ^ 2 = 91586

Step 4.) 2222222 / 91586 = 24.26 Coins

LAst block found :
                                                        Diff        Reward..
19276   egzheng1976   17/02 22:42:31   124.96   24.00    31,989   25,581   8,012   25.05

Ok there is a small difference but seam OK...
Got headick!!

So should look like this : X = diff, Y = Reward..
In red if diff < 75 and in blue if diff > 75 ...

THIS, is beautiful!  I finally understand!  Thank you so much for this, in fact it ought to be linked to the home page!!!

Block solving time is stable and is 2.5 minutes. That's why we need difficulty for. Simply your pool may not get them often due to its hashrate.
Currently (diff>75) there's a new formula if you missed it.

I see, (said the blind old woman).

Do the rewards still change?

Price is gonna surge past .003 by tomorrow morning if not tonight

This coin is hard as hell to mine and there simply isnt enough of it to go around for the demand.

135 KH barely gets 600 coins a day  Huh

KH or mh?  LOL, if you got 600 a day on 135KH I wanna go to your pool!!  LOL

For everyone new, please don't try to solo mine as it's very hard now, and could take months to land a block, don't bother, join a pool!  I'm in Lotterymining pool, it's great, and smalltime also needs more miners.  Please don't join a super large pool like the first one on the list, darkcoin.oc or something like that because it's bad for any one entity (a pool) to have more than 50% shares of the blocks found.  It's a security issue and now some reports have come out that say more than 1/3 of the mining power can compromise the security of the block chain.  All the  links are on the front page Smiley

Ok, so other info:

miners should be on the front page.  We do have a few instances of GPU miners that are working for some, but I don't know if they're on the front page.  These have been shared by the community at large, if they  help you please donate to them.  The best Cpu miner at the moment is version 1.3

Make sure you have the latest wallet.  It's been forked twice and will be again when the darksend is ready.  First time was to change the name from Xcoin to Darkcoin.  The second time was to implement KGW.  You will not sync if you don't have the latest wallet

Finally, this developer, eduffield, is BUSY, he's been updating stuff, responding to our needs when needed and working to ensure the Darksend will be  implemented without issue.  Aside from our fearless leader, we've had several members who have pitched in to provide the community with miners and wallets.  I don't want to list them because I fear I'll forget someone.  We've been blessed with a wonderful group of people who really believe this coin is worthy of our efforts, but now we're being noticed, and the outside world will soon crash in upon us.

Please don't assume nobody wants to help, it just might take a while, and the thread is going to start moving really fast.  other avenues to ask your questions might be the reddit page http://www.reddit.com/r/DRKCoin/new/ that was created.  So Welcome aboard!!!  May we all enjoy the beginnings of a truly amazing coin!

UNLESS YOU HAVE DARK COINS IN YOUR WALLET ALREADY, OR INCOMING COIN!!!

Just delete the .darkcoin file and re-download the darkcoin wallet (in case the one you have is corrupted, then start over.

Start the wallet
close thewallet
add the conf file to the .darkcoin directory in AppData
restart the wallet

Hope that helped

I want to put your attention to small easy-to-fix flaw with a wallet - a yellow icon in Windows tray is for Xcoin.

Update your wallet, we are now darkcoin Smiley

Could we not spam this thread with mining questions please?

Pray tell, what is this thread supposed to be for if not helping each other get up and mining?

Oi mates. I think we should start working towards a DARK/USD exchange. The sooner we detach from btc the better.
this

That would be a dream!

Even so you could upload USD from Payeer, that's still clunky.  if we could have someone that functions like Coinbase, where you can instantly buy from your checking account, that'd be awesome!  You  have to wait to have access to the funds, but it's great to get 'em while they're low, you know?

Here is my little article on Darkcoin.

http://razorsforex.blogspot.com/2014/02/darkcoin-anonymous-cryptocurrency.html

Comments and constructive criticism is very welcome! Smiley

I will read, soon as I catch up here Wink

Guys how do i get unbanned from c-cex chat after saying f@ck once im banned... Sad

ROFL, I'm sorry, but this is just too funny.  At my age, I can't help thinking, see what happens? (with a shaking finger in your face) LOL  And yet I can't help but be amazed anyone cares anymore, LOL.

I'd just write the moderators and say you didn't realize it was an offence  there, let alone a ban-able one.  And that you won't do it again.

We are on cryptocoincharts.info

http://www.cryptocoincharts.info/#jump-drk-btc

That's great, but I wish we were on coinwarz.  I like their layout and information Smiley  Especially how they calculate the payouts for you, LOL.  Really need that for darkcoin!

Great coin... can't mine it, I'm looking forward to seeing it dumped.

LOL, I hope they're dumped Thursday night or Friday, 'cause that's when my freakin bitcoins will finally clear!!!  Grrrrr!  But I don't think it'll happen Sad  This coin is actually worth a lot more than what it's going for in my opinion, but that doesn't make it dump proof, so I may have a little sliver of hope??

What's missing is support, maybe they should get in touch with doge devs so they can learn a thing or two about profesionalism.

ROFLMAO, This is so off base, it's hilarious!

OMG!  That DOGE mime animation has had us in stitches for 15 + minutes now, LOL  WONDERFUL
