1521  Other / Meta / Re: Lol. Has this ever happened to you? Merit sent again after refreshing. on: July 19, 2023, 02:08:45 PM
If you have sent merit to someone, close the tab or merit page.

If you refresh the tab under one minute or so, the merit will not be sent and you will be notified that reason the merit is not sent. You have to wait for sometimes like more than 1 minute before you will be able to send merit again to the same post.
1522  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Mistake that prevented your big win. on: July 19, 2023, 02:00:12 PM
It's part of the game, you'll also have a feeling of missing out on something if you decide to cashout and not continue so it's better to risk and see what's going to be, this is why you should allocate money that you can lose and have fun and enjoy it because regardless of the outcome the most important thing is you enjoy the game, that's the goal of the platform as entertainment portal and that's what casino wants you to feel.
There will be an element of greed when you're gambling because we are only human but win or lose you must accept the result and do not blame yourself for every bad decision you made in gambling.
To not cashout is not greedy to me. Gambling is luck. To cash out $200 or to win 1200, that is small. Cash out is done by the gambling sites in a way it would discourage a gambler to go for it. But if all the games have been won but remaining one, I think the cash out supposed to be more than that in amount.

I am not specific in gambling, I only play slot games and some sportsbet when I need entertainment. It didn't take much money for the stakes, but some greed would have screwed things up.
That is just it. If you do not stake too much but stake what you can afford to lose, you will not think about losses. It is possible that any match can make a gambler to lose. It may just be only one game that make the gambler to lose. That is just sport gambling.

Some people will say that they can make some prediction accurately, but that is not true. Any club can win any club at anytime. Gambling is gambling and it is very risky.
1523  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't expect everyone to embrace Bitcoin on: July 19, 2023, 11:26:17 AM
Bitcoiners have the opportunity to stand for something and that's eliminating the need for central authorities such as the government and banks and rather than forcing everyone to confirm to their beliefs, it's better to find an audience worth serving. What's your take, guys?
You can not force anyone to embrace bitcoin, people have to discover why bitcoin can benefit them if they buy it. And that is not all, they also need to know the right time to invest and not invest at the wrong time when bitcoin price has increased significantly.

We like or we do not like, people will invest in bitcoin. More people will know it and buy it and the price will continue to increase after long period of time. Some people may not like bitcoin and remain to be bitcoin critics, but if I can invest and make money, I do not care. That is life, everybody can not be on the same side

1525  Economy / Speculation / Re: Indonesia National Exchange Open in the end of July 2023, Is bullish Start? on: July 19, 2023, 10:26:56 AM

The government owns the crypto exchange that's cool.  Is this the first where an exchange is owned by the government?
I can already see where the market will go and what will happen to the existing exchanges today like coinbase seem to be favored by the government as it partners with Blackrock. I guess Coinbase will be officially the crypto exchange for US citizens.  Binance will be China? Definitely  Grin

Anyway, we all have out local exchanges, I guess I will also assume our exchange will be government owned as well.
This will be the first that I have heard of.

Coinbase is not only the crypto exchange that is existing in United States, there are other ones like Binance.us, Kraken and some other exchanges in United States.

Binance headquarter was in China before, but no more there since many years ago. Most countries in the world allows Binance.com to render its products and services to their citizens.

Its very good news and inspiring development for Indonesian investors/traders, as well as for overall adoption and growth of crypto industry. Given that Asia is the ls the most populous continent, crypto friendly policies implemented by the governments of the regional countries can play pivotal role for establishing it as widely accepted method of payment and appealing option for long term investment.
I do not see it as a good news, I prefer crypto exchanges to be private, instead of government to be the one in control directly. If Indonesians have alternatives, that is better in my own opinion.
1526  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What offence would warrant a user getting a neutral/negative feedback?? on: July 19, 2023, 10:16:51 AM
If you want to scam. If you join a campaign with your alt making two or more accounts that you used to join. If you are promotion scam site. All these can get you a negative trust very fast.

Having negative trust it not about the forum rules, it is about what people on this forum seen that can cause another user on this forum harm or not obeying what you supposed to obey, like in each signature campaign, campaign participants are given the rules not to join with alts.

Like on this forum, scam is not moderated, but if you want to scam and you are noticed, you will be given negative feedback.
1527  Economy / Speculation / Re: Indonesia National Exchange Open in the end of July 2023, Is bullish Start? on: July 19, 2023, 07:47:09 AM
what are your thought? Is bullish Start?
Indonesia is not a big country when it comes to crypto adoption. You can not also compare it to countries like USA or China or Europes in general which are the ones that can affect bitcoin if there is any development like that. This can not really have any effect on bitcoin price. But there are big events that are coming, bitcoin halving is one of them, another is the bitcoin spot ETF. We should expect bull run for bitcoin as the bill run season is approaching.
1528  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: is the ledger can be hackable ? on: July 18, 2023, 11:13:50 AM
is the ledger can be hacked ?
The phone or computer that you are using with ledger should no have malware. If it has malware, hardware wallet can resist malware than online wallets, but not all malware can hardware wallets resist. Avoid clipboard malware because it is on your phone or computer that you will copy and paste the address.
1529  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Sparrow wallet installation on: July 18, 2023, 08:51:22 AM
One of Sparrow developer said it's normal thing[1], so yes it's safe to install. Although if you want to be extra secure, perform PGP verification and ask around whether other people hold same public PGP key for Craig Raw (the one who sign Sparrow download files).

Thanks you very much. There can be some phishing site these days. I went to that site through search engine and it looks original but there can be fake ones too which is the reason I ask the question on this forum. Which means that is a correct Sparrow wallet site not a fake site.
1530  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Sparrow wallet installation on: July 18, 2023, 08:03:17 AM
I downloaded Sparrow wallet from this site: https://sparrowwallet.com/download/ which I think it is the Sparrow wallet official site.

I downloaded the Windows Installer (7+) Sparrow-1.7.7.exe

When I want to install it, my computer showed this:

Is it save to install it?

The last time I installed an app with this warning, my computer started to malfunction. I am using Windows 10.
1531  Other / Meta / Re: The problems newbies face on: July 17, 2023, 09:04:22 PM
That is why you see new accounts that are growing and become old members that are posting good. If you come to this forum with this kind of mindset, I do not think you will be able to get merit at all.

Post something good and continue to post something good and you will not see the old members attacking the new members, but correcting the new members when you have established rank.
1532  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin dethronement on: July 17, 2023, 05:00:13 PM
Bitcoin marketcap is approximately $585 billion. https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/bitcoin

Ripple marketcap is approximately $39 billion. https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/ethereum

Is that comparable? Bitcoin is even 15 times more.
1533  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Investors, what metrics of BTC you constantly monitor? on: July 17, 2023, 11:57:09 AM
Anyway what are the metrics you constantly monitor in order to be updated on current market changes? What tools you use to view those metrics?
The next one for me is bitcoin halving. Because of the comining halving, you can start to DCA so that when halving comes, bitcoin price will not fall significantly but rise significantly.

2 years after halving are bull run. The 3rd year is bear market.

Other things you can check are news and statistical analysis including exchange inflow and outflow. Including the rate miners are selling newly mined coins.
1534  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Help to rescue on: July 17, 2023, 11:48:01 AM
I have DOT in my portfolio and it is down 79% as of today. The amount I've put there is quite big for me. The average buy price per DOT is 25.80USD. The price of DOT today is 5.38.
So the question is what are my options to rescue the money I've put into it? Is there anything I can do or I just wait?
Continue to hold it is my advice for you.

Accept defeat and cut loss by selling the token at 79% loss.
Seriously! To sell at 79% loss? That is not a good advice in my opinion.

Bitcoin is at $30000 and it will likely rise to $100000 and increase more than that, but it will take months. By that time too, Dot would have increase more in price to the extent he will recover some unrealized losses or the investment may later become profitable.

Only traders should accept losses. Investors too can accept losses sometimes, but not like this one.

1535  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SIGNS THAT A CRYPTO PROJECT IS A SCAM on: July 17, 2023, 09:11:57 AM
One of the signs I expected you to mention is plagiarized white paper. Most fake projects have lazy people that just plagiarized white paper.

2. Unrealistic promises: If a project promises too-good-to-be-true returns on investment, it is likely a scam. While some crypto projects are innovative and have the potential for significant growth, investors should be wary of promises that seem too exaggerated.
I do not know about this, but if a project presell a token at $1 and said to list it at $5, that may look not realistic. They may also said that the coin mat do 5x more which might happen or might not happen. What unrealistic promise are you talking about?

1. Lack of transparency: A legitimate crypto project should have clear information about its team
Oh no, there's no transparency behind Bitcoin's team, we're only know the name of the creator is Satoshi, but it's still not known about it's she, he, them, race, religion, face etc. So yeah, we can call Bitcoin is scam and anyone should sell all their Bitcoin ASAP! /jk.
You are getting it wrong. Let me give you an example. Assuming the people behind the project said they will list the coin on an exchange, but should make your findings to know if that is true. If you later make research and the exchange said it is a lie, know that it is a fake project.

Also know that some projects may want to be a good one, but later in one way or the other, it becomes bump and dump or become failed.

If you want to invest, I will advice you to invest in bitcoin.
1536  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People Are Not Nerdy Enough on: July 17, 2023, 07:49:33 AM
Yes, I am complaining that people are not nerdy enough. It's been 14 years since Satoshi published his white paper and the vast majority of people still don't understand what Bitcoin is and how to use it. Sure there are many people buying Bitcoin on crypto exchanges and speculating on it.
What that is more important is adoption and we are getting it. How many people did you think that read the bitcoin white paper? I for one did not read it before I know what bitcoin is all about. There are many papers that are online that can brief you what is in the white paper. Bitcoin is not a project like altcoins that you need to read the white paper anymore if you do not want to read it.

However, the average guy on the street that I speak to, and even many people on crypto forums still don't understand Bitcoin's potential as a virtual commodity, or it's potential to create an alternative to Fiat economies. Maybe the problem is deeper than just a lack of understanding about the technology? Maybe it's a lack of understanding about economics as a whole? How many people are economists?
Anyone that understand the law of demand and supply can easily understand. I did that during my high school days. With that, knowing how bitcoin is limited in supply to not more than 21 million coins and how the demand is increasing which makes it valuable.

I understand that my frustration might be due to the fact that I am coming from a very privileged position. What are your thoughts on this?
Do not be frustrated. Bitcoin price is going high and the adoption is what we are seeing. With time, more people will understand more.
1537  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Question] Bitcoin More decentralized than Ethereum? on: July 16, 2023, 10:54:55 AM
If talking about decentralization, do not compare bitcoin with ether. Ether even gone more centralized.

Some ether were premined.
PoS makes it more centralized.
Ethereum developers want to reduce validators, making it more centralized (they want to make people that can be a validator to have at least 2048 ETH. It is still 32 ETH but they are working to increase it).
Ether is influenced more by developers like Vitalik Buterin, no one knows Satoshi Nakamoto.
1538  Economy / Economics / Re: Can your passion lead to an increase in your net worth? on: July 16, 2023, 10:46:41 AM
Do you know the question you supposed to ask your? Is what you have passion at what people need? Like in examples that you said. People need to eat and need restaurant. People need some of the things people are selling. If you know that people depend on what you have passion for, you can go ahead. You have passion for it and it would be fun.

If it is not what people are requiring, do not go for it.

But you need to also think of ways to let people buy more of your product or service. You need to make them satisfied and show that you are better than most people doing the same business. If you are good in customers satisfaction, you will have more customers and earn more money.

Some people will have a problem. You may have passion in something but not able to setup that thing because of lack or insufficient money.

In business, it is important to have it in a good location and nearer to important things that you need to make the business function.
1539  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin leave to be decentralized on: July 16, 2023, 10:34:12 AM
If someone wants to create a centralized coin, the government of the country the person is will take down the project and that would be the end of it. I agree that because bitcoin is decentralized, it grows as people adopt it.

But that has not been the only reason bitcoin is adopted and grow, another reason is because it can be used as an investment and a store of value. People invest in it and some people store it long term.
1540  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When you feels like only draw is your win on Blackjack on: July 16, 2023, 07:10:19 AM
My goal on this topic is more on experience sharing and do survey if someone experience same thing on this provider instead of discussing strategy since this kind of result is just pure random. I'm only sharing how I'm upset when experiencing this situation but that doesn't mean that I don't understand how Blackjack works. I'm playing Blackjack for a long time and encounter many scenario like this.

The screenshot above is my complete game for the day that makes me 1 win and the rest is just draw and lose that makes me stop gambling for the day and share here.

I'm asking for other user that shares experience to get some moral support to boost my bad day. I'm not trying to accuse someone here but just looking for someone experiencing same to think that I'm not alone. This helps me to easily accept my bad experience and move on.
There are many games to gamble with on gambling sites. For the games that I prefer, Blackjack is not among them, so we can have different results. Since when I have been gambling, I can have a bad day or a good day with little profit or big profit sometimes. But I have not played for that long and continue to lose, also I do not continue to win. I win and lose randomly, but what I looked more for is for the winning to be more than how I am losing.
