1521  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: March 15, 2023, 05:00:42 PM
Yes Lump sum would be fine for Hodl in the long run and I'm not denying it, but the mental attack from panicking because I've put money into bitcoin at one time, might make me sleep and eat uneasy if the market goes down. worse than the purchase price, therefore I prefer DCA as an alternative to buying Bitcoin besides that we have the opportunity to get DIP prices when using the DCA strategy.
Bitcoin seems to have a good relationship with the term "hold". Some people hold long-term and some hold short-term. Last couple of days when btc decreasing depression was working on Bitcoin but today that picture has changed. It is only a matter of time. As we know the more bearish of BTC, the more bullish it will be later on. There is a lot to learn from the current market trend. There is a world in crypto that if one cannot be a good holder one cannot become rich. I would agree with you that DCA is still viable as the most useful strategy for buying bitcoins.
I think when you say "hold" in this case, you're obviously talking about a relatively longer period of time. So in this condition for me personally, I don't really see some decline back to be one of the things that makes depression here.
The decline means another opportunity to increase the load, there is no need to make it an excessive panic because the portopolio that is already owned will clearly be threatened when we are in a phase that we are depressed and panic because of a momentary decline.
Instead, the good thing is to make it a real opportunity because this is also included in the concept of buy the dip as it exists for this discussion.
1522  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - The Leading Crypto Casino - 🦉 Drake, UFC, Everton Main Partner ⚽ 🥊 on: March 13, 2023, 07:25:44 PM
As I said, it's only about fun. Smiley You don't have some better "transparency" on slots with live RTP, nor do you have significantly better chances to win on slots with RTP 97% than on slots with 95% RTP. The numbers say it themselves: you have slightly better chances to lose less in the long run. So, if you choose to not pay attention to the RTP, you are not losing much.
yep that's right, it's just about fun and of course luck is also needed.

I once did a slot game without looking at the RTP and the results were satisfactory, around 2000x. but when I play slots, look at the RTP before playing, the results are very bad.

but after a few days I tried playing slots again and the results were the opposite. when I see the RTP the results are very good and when I don't see the RTP the results are bad. So, the reason I say about luck is because I've experienced it.
Because basically expecting about RTP is also not entirely a victory in the end.
This is what really needs to be realized even though in this case there will definitely also be people who always look at RTP first, especially by looking at the big win ratio.
I personally still agree with you and @Betwrong here because the initial goal is also to have fun and in this case I am not too obsessed with a large RTP winrate if it is not to my liking.

1523  Economy / Gambling / Re: No bet is a waste on: March 13, 2023, 04:59:01 PM
I don't think there's anything wrong with that, because I also always do the same for some bets but on the other hand for other things sometimes I also do some bets when approaching kick off especially for soccer. The reason is quite simple because even though there are factors such as H2H or performance that can be one aspect other than Odds, I also always see the condition of the team playing such as whether they play their full squad when playing or indeed back up some core players that can be my consideration in making a bet.
Many times these approach of checking or using H2H, past performances, and full squad as conditions to making a bet don't always work. Gambling site usually use a H2H of a team's performance of over two or own year behind that may possibly not correspond with the team's current form and this could be so deceiving to the gambler.  I do pay more attention to the odds than h2h as the odds as a reflection of the current form of the team and not of their past form .
This is why H2H is not always looked at so it is not wrong when looking at other factors. I think the odds fall into my category but also in this case obviously the player's condition is also still very influential for me personally so taking bets in advance even a few minutes before kick off starts.
Even though in this case the victory still cannot be fully believed but sometimes this can be a pretty good condition at least in betting we become a little more confident in what we are doing.

1525  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The fear of KYC requirements on: March 12, 2023, 06:38:57 PM
I think it comes back to reputation because regardless of anything nowadays reputation is very easy to tarnish especially in KYC issues.
The condition is that if you want to withdraw and always ask for it I think the risk of being accused of fraud is definitely possible so this could be a problem for them and rather than that happening then indeed they make a license or rule for their policy.

But basically I personally still don't expect anything like that because this will only make me leave the site even though it might not be a loss for them but when it comes to KYC in gambling sites I will go from there.
1526  Economy / Economics / Re: Are people really having the wrong concept of savings? on: March 12, 2023, 06:16:19 PM
My definition of savings is money which is part of a steady income which is not immediately spent but rather kept aside for a specific future purpose.

If the money being kept does not have a specific purpose, then I would call it "emergency funds" or "perpetual savings", which would be meant to cover unexpected events, like medical bills, reparations or replacement of important household goods.

If the money is being kept in the form of a investment and not an stable asset, then it would serve to cover expected expenses/purchases, since the emergencies can coincide with a bear market, which would imply to sell at low price and no one wants to do that.
That's a good concept because when it comes to savings, there are definitely going to be a lot of differences in how people express themselves in this regard but that doesn't mean the goal is different because it's clearly the same goal,
I also do something like this because saving doesn't mean that we save most of the money that we have but of course only the allowance of the leftover money that we don't use for emergencies like you said.
With conditions like this, at least we can still cover when there are things that are not wanted to happen later considering we will never know the worst possibilities for ourselves in the future but with the savings intended for that, at least we can still be a little less worried later because there are funds that are already intended for that.

1528  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did anyone saw the New Bitcoin Advertisement? on: March 11, 2023, 11:15:39 PM
It should be realized that the ad is bold enough to show the shortcomings of your system, but I really like this ad  Cheesy Because they immediately attack at the point where this is the actual reality that often happens and is currently being experienced.

I mean it would have been better if they even once mentioned Bitcoin lol. It was a Coinbase ad not a Bitcoin ad. If it was a Bitcoin ad they would have mentioned it. I was waiting at the end for it to say something like Use Bitcoin but it just said Coinbase
Even though in this case there is no mention of bitcoin, I think we all understand where the point is headed, especially when looking at the questions in the advertisements about "Systems", it clearly shows that they lead to decentralization and centralization.
There's no need to mention bitcoin when something this obvious is obvious because we've already got our point and people will also notice even if the word bitcoin isn't in the ad.
1529  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: March 11, 2023, 09:55:04 PM
Honestly I don't see Mbappe transfer to Real Madrid like impossible in the summer. It is quite possible especially after this result of PSG in the Champions League. They were really bad against Bayern Munich as they couldn't even score a goal. A team with the aim of winning the Champions League title shouldn't be that bad at scoring goals in the end. You have Mbappe and Messi both in the attacking line but still you can't do anything. In this situation Mbappe might want to join a winner team finally.

Players like Richarlison and Gonçalo Ramos are also strikers rumoured to replace Benzema but I don't think so. Mbappe would be their main target.

Messi will probably go away during next season.
About Mbappe's situation, it will go away in 2 years when his contract will expire I don't think he will give up to the 100+m he is awaiting for the next 1 years.
recently there was news about the condition of Messi who is now being approached by Inter Miami and offering something extraordinary for them.
Not half-hearted even Beckham as the owner of the club said there was even a special package for Messi if he wanted to join the MLS club, including one of which was real estate around their future stadium.

It seems that after previously Beckham made a big offer to Ronaldo he will also do the same thing to Messi this time but indeed the future is sometimes unpredictable because there could be some surprises later regarding Messi even though he is currently still at PSG.
1530  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Is for the strong. on: March 11, 2023, 09:28:34 PM
Regretting is also a human behaviour so thinking about changing something which happened in the past is not possible as of now so there is no point of thinking about it. Well, gambling means spending money and if someone thinks that they can make more money if they choose other assets for investment then they are gambling with wrong intention.

Gambling is for everyone and we can't judge who is strong mentally cause its not visible like physical fitness so their actions and decisions can decide whether they are capable of being a disciplined gambler or not.
I think that in gambling, the condition of regret is actually not that important because regardless of anything, even though there will be lots of regrets, the results will still not change unless we really try to change that.

But for gambling this is obviously very difficult to do because indeed looking at the conditions, I think we will still agree that gambling is obviously always difficult to control from an emotional point of view so when you regret and return to the same pattern in gambling then the cycle will not change much and it will actually get worse.
1531  Economy / Economics / Re: Poor and Rich on: March 11, 2023, 08:36:58 PM
In this condition there are also several things that make the difference between the poor and the rich because indeed in any case even in this case everyone's views are different, still in this condition the poor and the rich have a very different state of mind.
Maybe it's understandable because in this case there are several factors that can make it have a big difference but on the other hand when we are indeed born and live among people who can be said to be rich, our connections will obviously be very different so it's not to classify this but the words that the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer, it's true because apart from their mindset, connections and opportunities, you can't be equated.
1532  Economy / Speculation / Re: bitcoin fall below $20000 , it's a messy thread. on: March 10, 2023, 09:25:18 PM
Recessionary conditions that are getting stronger and stronger are making a real impact even for bitcoin right now.
$20K which is likely to be even more I think in this case becomes a few news options because there will be those who say this is bad news and those who say this is good news.
I think with this condition we have to wait further for bitcoin to return to the starting position and of course it is time for us to be ready to buy now Cheesy

Is the casino really one of the trusted ones here although it is most likely not because I gambled at several trusted casinos on this forum all smoothly even with the change of driver's license.
The confiscation of the balance because of trivial things like this is definitely one of the problems and the possibility of the casino is a scam I think. and of course leaving from there is the right thing even if your balance is still there. Although the hope is obviously that it should be returned first but if the worst case scenario is not possible then leave immediately.

https://www.bi.go.id/id/publikasi/ruang-media/news-release/Pages/sp_232521.aspx

Am not saying that OP cannot get the entire requirements that he wants but it may take time to find any, we have many casinos with their own rules, but this one is common with them all that you must make a minimum wagering before you can be able to withdraw from them, but many seems not to understand the logic here that it's part of their rules and when they don't comply to this, gamblers seems disappointed and try to lodge a complaints on their disfunction not knowing it's coming from their end.
For points 1, 3 and 4, it may be possible. But for point 2 I think this is difficult or even non-existent because it can be said to be a little impossible for me.
The wagering requirement for withdrawals is definitely one that must be present on all sites because in this case what are we depositing if in the end it is withdrawn.
Maybe in this case it is intended to get an initial deposit bonus but obviously gambling sites are also not that naive because it is necessary to realize that in this case they are businessmen.
1536  Economy / Gambling / Re: they are scamming us? on: March 09, 2023, 09:41:07 PM
Trying something new is very good but when there is no clarity for the site especially for a new site, I think it is risky and the condition is like what you experienced.
It would be good to be on sites that are proven to be trusted on this forum. until now I have tried almost all the sites that are trusted on this site and as long as I tried and even continued to play until now, I did not get any complaints about it because they really have been tested both in terms of performance and reputation.
1537  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: March 09, 2023, 09:26:46 PM
Even though my multi bet failed in the first leg but I will still do the same in the second leg this time. Now the chance can still do that I think. The condition of Bayern is still my favorite and I agree with the bookie as well as Tottenham who previously lost in the first leg.
In another match I have no doubts about Manchester City and I even made another bet that City could score more than 2 goals there.

If you want to repeat your previous bey, it's cool but I do not think that Bayern Munich will have to win Psg home and away. So it will not be easy for Bayern to win PSG again for the second time when Messi the world cup winner and Mbappe the world cup highest goal scorer is in the team.
I am also in doubt of Tottenham being able to win Ac Milan seeing that Tottenham has been struggling, even in the English Premier League. All the best although
In this match I actually fell again and again at Tottenham.
It's really not good to have to change the bet back to Manchester City, because I believe in it.
Tottenham was eliminated and so far they are the first team to leave for the EPL from the Champions League competition. I'm confident in Manchester City but of course it's more likely that Liverpool overtakes Tottenham for the competition.
1538  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: March 08, 2023, 06:51:35 PM
He is not too late to leave Tottenham, at the age of 29 he still has the opportunity to shine again in other teams. But is he willing to do it? because I am sure that if he is given an offer to extend the contract he will agree. If he wants a prestigious trophy in his career, leaving Tottenham might be the answer to the trophy itself, because at Tottenham it was very difficult to get it.
Tottenham are currently being hit by difficulties because of some current news conditions. Seeing from previous statements, Kane has said that he will still focus on Tottenham until his contract is completely finished but on the other hand this is also not a real guarantee for Tottenham to be able to keep this player.
Kane himself said that until now there has been little talk between him and Tottenham about what his future conditions are like in the midst of a contract that will soon expire.

"There's not been much talk if I'm totally honest," said Kane in January.

This is a bit of a problem if Tottenham don't do much because he could leave really happen later.

1540  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: March 08, 2023, 06:06:12 PM
Well, personally, I think that it is better to use some kind of an Excel spreadsheet to both show your historical building of your investment portfolio, and presumptively you have ONLY added bitcoin to it recently, and perhaps you did not have much of an investment portfolio prior to bitcoin.  I cannot remember your situation except maybe that you were asserting that you had real humble and modest amounts that you would be able to save on a regular basis.

If you think about it, there are better case scenarios in terms of how much you are able to save and also better case scenarios in terms of how your investments (BTC and perhaps other things) will perform... So you can project out worse case scenarios, medium (or more likely scenarios) and best case scenarios, and maybe the first few times that you project out all of your ideas it will be difficult and it will not make sense, but you can come back to it from time to time, and save your older versions and create new files that might branch into one direction or another while at the same time, even though you might look at both best case scenarios and worse case scenarios, you probably should be attempting to put most of your time into what you consider to be the more likely scenarios that you can also tweak from time to time because sometimes you might come across either facts or even ideas that cause your base case scenarios to be in need of corrections to make them more realistic in terms of actual facts rather than fantasies or wrong ideas.

I probably stated that when I was younger.. like when I just left home, I almost always made it a goal to save at least 10% of my income, and surely I had times in which my income was really low so 10% did not end up being very much, and then I had years that I was in college, so I had a lot of expenses, and it was a lot more difficult to save money... but anyhow, back then I did not have bitcoin, but later in life I got some better paid jobs that caused me to have an income that was way higher than what I was used to, so I was able to save way higher amounts (and kind of make up for the years that I had not been able to save as much).. In some ways I got lucky, but still I understand the idea that it is not unusual that it could take you 5-10 years or longer just to save up as much as your annual salary, and you figure that you would have to save 20% of your income to be able to get there in 5 years and 10% of your income if you were to get there in 10 years... so even if you are able to save 100% or 200% or more of your income, I doubt that your retirement plan would be to just spend the whole thing, but instead try to get to amounts in which the principle ends up being somewhere in the category of 25x the amount that you need to live on each year in order that you would merely be living off of the interest (so that is getting your principle to be 25x your annual income amount).. which is living off of something like 4% per year. Those are basic ideas about getting to a point in which you are able to live off of your investment as a kind of passive income without depleting the principle.

If you were to ONLY rely upon your saving your money and not really earning anything off of it, then likely the cost of living will continue to eat away (and deplete) your abilities to live off of interest on the amount that you are able to build up in your investment portfolio, so in some sense, the better performance of any of your investments in your portfolio, the the more likely that you would be able to reach your abilities to get to fuck you status.. which would be in the ballpark of around 25x the amount that you need to live annually. and many of us bitcoiners believe that bitcoin gives way better chances of being able to reach those kinds of numbers than various traditional investments.. None of this is easy, the obstacles are high, and part of the reason that some people resort to shitcoins or gambling and various kinds of strategies like that is because they consider that they are not able to reach the kinds of numbers  that they feel that they need to reach if they were to merely invest in bitcoin or in some other more traditional asset classes.. but personally, it seems to me that both the upside and the downside risk needs to be taken into account, and it seems to me that bitcoin continues to be one of the best asymmetric bets to the upside when accounting for all of the variables.. and at the same time, i tis true that each person has to come to their own decision-point in terms of if they believe bitcoin is a good asset in their investment portfolio and if so, then how aggressive should they be in regards to bitcoin accumulation and/or maintenance in order to hopefully get to fuck you status at some point more quickly (or even more possible) than they might be able to do with traditional investment options.
Believe it or not I had a new epiphany on this.
I didn't really understand what you meant before so I needed to digest and read many times about this because I didn't get the gist of what you meant but the more I read the more I understood what you meant.
So trying to make a new design for my plan and when compared to the previous one, even though there are some similarities when viewed from other perspectives, there are obvious differences, especially in terms of the long term.
When I talk about savings it's already true because regardless of anything it's already felt that even if it's not for the long term it continues to erode from the existing amount.
Saving is a bit good but it obviously won't change anything as long as we don't move and it's a different story when we invest because at least in this case there is more feedback that we get from there and it can also be more supportive and make my eyes open.

Bitcoin price is constantly being discussed and researched. Recently we have seen some light in a bearish market. While the global situation is quite bad, the effects of the economic recession have not yet subsided. At that time the bullish trend of Bitcoin naturally indicated its positive side. Bitcoin fell to $16,600 just as it was expected to be more bearish, but it has once again turn to bullish and  surged 40 percent. The macro backdrop also played a supportive role as the Federal Reserve cut its interest rate hikes this month. Currently, if an investor wants to hold Bitcoin for a short period of time, he will get the profit. But there is no need to take that kind of risks. Now if one plans to hold BTC for long term then he can reach his goal before the expected time.
If you use the buy dip system, the profit will definitely be obtained but I think the goal is too simple if you have to stop and sell when the current price is still below so I think instead of having a pattern like this and regretting it when the price is high, it's better from now on not to have a lot of thoughts and just focus on the future.
