1521  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: noob question do i need to keep my log files? on: September 16, 2017, 03:28:50 PM
no not necessarily, if you're rig is stable then no need to keep it, not unless you want to investigate something, it only adds space to your storage, not to mention annoying number of logfile when mixed up to mining application files, and it does eat up at 100mb when not cleaned up for every log file.
1522  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining rig case prices on: September 16, 2017, 12:31:45 AM
With that price of case 150$, you can already buy another GPU for 10 case, i am also build an open air rack for my mining rigs not to mention that is much cheaper but also helps and easily manage the temp or heat which is also essential to mining rigs.
1523  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining RIG with 5xSapphire RX580 Nitro+ and Ryzen on: September 16, 2017, 12:04:32 AM
Nicehash convert your earnings into Bitcoin automatically, so no pain when altcoins began to price fall off, just check your wallet and verify if already deposited upon reaching the threshhold, welcome to mining world, congrats also for reaching 31mhz of your card.
1524  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin falling again on: September 14, 2017, 01:04:22 PM
Yes, this is sad again.  And as the worse part is taking all the crypto's with it.

NO, this is an opportunity, I am getting some popcorn right now and see how far could this dip go, a lot of Financial business is now on woe and couldn't resist to talk bad mouth due to rise of Bitcoin, they have been disrupted. Cool people, I am just preparing for another Bitcoin buy,  Grin
1525  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What coin are you mining? on: September 14, 2017, 05:11:03 AM
guys how do you find profiable coin?

Use online calculator like whattomine.com to check most profitable coin, they are in nearest accuracy depending on your hashrate, just set the desired hashrate your getting from your miner, Other profitable coins are not listed there but somewhat shared in this forum so read and read that the key to it.
1526  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What GPU should I get? on: September 13, 2017, 08:12:19 AM
So I have been "mining" on Nice Hash using my gaming PC. Currently its a i7 4790k with a 780 ti, 16GB ram and a 650w PSU.

I only get $1 a day but i have been getting the itch to get into mining more.

So I ask you... What GPU should I add to the system? Would my PSU be powerful enough to just add another card?

I think there are 2 ways I can go, a cheap AMD card used just for mining, or a more expensive card (an upgrade from the 780 ti) which I could also benefit from the gaming side of things which I would prefer.

Im interested in mining BTC Gold, random ICO's and alts and hopefully holding until they are worth something.

Thank you for your time  Tongue

If you will go for profit then you have to do study, you had already started your mining journey and have an idea on your power usage, so check your power rates, and estimate what if's, if difficulty rises profit will decline how will you cope with it? then decide your GPU if you want longer ROI but high resale value or the other one. you may always check online calculators to help you decide
1527  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Quick question reg PSU on: September 13, 2017, 12:38:35 AM
6x 580s, even after messing with voltage and clock settings, would push a 1000W PSU too far, let alone for 24/7 operation.

6x 1060s would probably be fine, as far as the rating is concerned.

Don't forget to keep an eye on your required connectors. Some 1060s use 8-pin PCIe connectors, others use 6-pin.

Thanks.

How about this one?

This might be better, it has Higher capacity than 1kw, the higher capacity the better and it is also already a Platinum efficiency PSU,
If you will mine coins other than ETH go for 1060, as 580 aims only for ETH.
1528  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Dual PSU for 8x1070 can i split the raisers? on: September 12, 2017, 04:00:55 PM
Quote

Because i read somewhere that the first PSU have to power all the raiser+mobo+cpu and ssd, but this way i will not have enough connectors to do it.

Please, give me some advice!

I don't see any problem with your current setup, you must not really rely on other opinion, most important is that the learning you had thru your experience if you find your setup working then that's fine, Just don't fix things that is not broken.
1529  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: help with setup - 4 rx 580 on: September 12, 2017, 02:29:55 PM
either plug 1 by 1 or plug it all would do, just ensure that all your gpu hardware has been detected, by the way ati pixel path is for modded GPU only, this is to resolve GPU's having error when modded in drivers, if your GPU's is all stock then no need for this patch.
1530  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: NiceHash Mining Setup? on: September 11, 2017, 11:42:19 AM
this is a good read for 1070 users who shared their hashrates and clocks.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2054800.0

you don't need to install nicehash miner if you want to pay to BTC, you can use your existing miner Ex. Claymore and use the nicehash pool enter stratum servers and voila, you can monitor your miners at nicehash.
1531  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Hashrate problem on: September 10, 2017, 08:49:58 AM
Hello i got hashrate problem im using EWBF's Zcash CUDA miner 0.3.4b,I have gtx 1060 and im getting around 250-250 Sol/s i usually would have 300-310 on windows 10 so might windows 7 be a problem?

It does depend on what type of 1060 cards you have, from what memory type 3GB or 6GB, have you tweaked your mem clocks? power limits? I don't see really a hardware problem with this, just play around with your core clocks in order to achieved your desired hashrates, just take or consider also your the hardware temps and power consumption of your card, by the way, take time to read this - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1575547.40 sharing their hashrates and coreclocks
1532  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin cannot replace currency in the world because price is not stable on: September 09, 2017, 03:29:35 PM
it is already a world Currency, a virtual crypto Currency, I think it shouldn't compare this into fiat right now its a different approach, comparing virtual into physical fiats, price volatility is normal for virtual crypto currencies as it really shows how fast the changes would be in a certain scenarios, in the future where physical fiats are already not needed into spending daily lives in the world, then imo, crypto's will rise and stability will surely next to it.
1533  Economy / Speculation / Re: another day, another dip, another buy the dip on: September 09, 2017, 02:45:11 PM
the news from China are evidence about how fragile the bitcoin community is and how it can be easily manipulated.

about 2 days of non-stop FUD and market manipulation and panic sells and lots of weak hands and price went down 8.45% and it has already recovered about $200 of the dip back up.
and you call this "fragile"?!!

I call it a normal trend, dips and ups is just a normal behavior of bitcoin, and also be true to panicking people, manipulation? I think not, it just happen that china's stand firm on banning ICO to protect their people, FUDs are there no matter what we do, they are a part of this what you called Dips, and Also here we are buying on Dips, and we are part of the Ups ones. Have to wait another dips and fund that's a life that I should. Happy trading everyone .. cheers
1534  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best GTX 1060 brand and it's clock (ETH) on: September 09, 2017, 10:55:52 AM
this is supposedly in mining altcoin thread section, you may transfer your question to that location however I gladly help you with some knowledge I have.

Quote
1.) What could be the reason I get so low mhs ?

try to overclock/underclock hashrates can achieve higher by playing those clocks, try also to tweak your miner ex. Claymore intensities

Quote
2.) Did I make mistake buying Gigabyte, though it has Hynix memory.

no, I think it is not that matter

Quote
2.a) If I did mistake with Gigabyte, what brand would you recommend me?

same with number 2 above

Quote
3.) Could you recommend any clock rates / bios that might boost a little the mhs?

this is a great read for 1060 clocks and hasrates - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1575547.0

and this for 1070 - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2054800.0

Quote
4.) Could it be the Driver problem?

possible, however after you read and applied other 1060/1070 users clocks, you have now an idea what adjustment you could do.
1535  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: can someone tell me the benefits of campaign on: September 09, 2017, 10:34:30 AM
Signature campaigns in this forum is an opportunity and allowed, it is way of learning what bitcoin really is and how crypto currencies works,
it helps bitcoin community to be stronger and big, it is both beneficial to bitcoin people community and the bitcoin technology usage, one common mistake is that thru this opportunity some folks tend to post a nonsense comment just to rank up,
I really appreciate campaign managers who do their duties to filter those folks and do necessary measures with them,
please help to create a clean and helpful community by starting to read, learn and share the right ideas needed by the community.
1536  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What will be your top choice? on: September 09, 2017, 06:02:38 AM
I guess you can try them all if you can possibly have it, as for mining, they will probably be almost in the same hashrate, I'm just wondering that this 8GB card  MSI Radeon RX 470 DirectX 12 Radeon RX 470 ARMOR 8G OC 8GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Cards is much cheaper than the other 4GB ones, imo, if you can have it all then you could prove it which is which, then buy all out on your best bet card. but i can still go with the card that has 8GB, for DAG generation purpose later on it might not in Eth when go to POS but to other possible Altcoin mining.

1537  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Miner 6x1080ti - one of the card is heating up on: September 09, 2017, 12:42:14 AM
I have experienced this one, but my cards is not identical, a founders edition and a gaming x, it reaches 80+ degrees on my 1080ti founders edition but the other cards stays at around 60-70 degrees, at first I thought this is just normal and thinking that founders edition is way hotter than the gaming x edition due to its fans, founders only have single fan while gaming x has 2, but later on, it gets hotter and hotter that the miner temp goes to red, so Im a bit worried, what I did is that I swapped them from their PCI-e slots, to my surprised, it cooled down, seems the main PCI-e caused it and the gaming X handles the heat.
1538  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is mining Litecoin still making profit? on: September 09, 2017, 12:29:05 AM
For the current litecoin price yes it is profitable and will always depend on your electricity rate within your location, you can use Litecoin mining calculator online for this. one good thing about this is that it has been seen in the previous at price rocketing together with bitcoin, however, one downside I see is that the risk, what if in the future LTC mining is not profitable anymore? you could not sell the machine for sure, unlike gpus that you can still sell them parts by parts when everything seems down.
1539  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Small question about hardware for ethereum mining. on: September 08, 2017, 03:56:22 PM
you may want to start reading here - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1433925.0

its a hundred of pages, but you can learn a lot from it, from hardware, mining software, hashrates, tweaks, and even difficulties. its worth a read  Grin
1540  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Feedback on machine for mining on: September 08, 2017, 03:10:56 PM
I have this machine sitting around barely used and was wondering if it would be sufficient enough to get started. The idea was to use it for mining monero, but I am up for suggestions on rather or not it will work for something else, or it needs more.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00F6EK9J2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

you can play it around and can do CPU mining, if you get it to work, then learning will rise including how profitable/unprofitable it is. Cheesy
