1522  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are ICOs scam? on: October 08, 2017, 07:32:49 PM

Holy shitballs Cheesy this is exactly what I've been talking about actually, so many of my friends keep sending me websites and stuff for new ICO's yet they don't even bother to check if the team is actually doing anything. The process you describe in that picture would honestly barely take 1 day, and you can literally make half a million dollar in 1 week doing this Most people won't fall into your trap, but some would. It's like sending out an email about being a nigerian prince and wanting to share your millions with them, provided they pay you 10K to cover expenses. if you send it to 100.000 email addresses, I'm sure 50 of them will send you the money, and boom you just made half a million bucks

Indeed. I once wanted to launch an ICO for a coin project with a client of mine, i got hold of a DEV immediately during negotiation he wanted 30% of the ICO that would be gathered.... The problems lies that ICO's are so easy to set up and you will always have suckers putting money into it. Even a retard could set up a coin with an ICO and walk away with free BTC's, it has become breeding ground for fraudsters. Just see how many pop every week hundreds....

Exactly, we're entering a completely new world, which will benefit those who want to take advantage of the less clever
1523  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: DIMEcoin on: October 08, 2017, 04:36:29 PM
I can develop the IOS APP AND ANDROD APP!.
Just need to talk with the real core developers of dimecoin.

peme is one of the devs, apparently, send him a message here
1524  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] 🌟🌟 Datum - Unlock the Bln $$ Data Economy - ICO 17th October - 🌟🌟 on: October 08, 2017, 04:34:52 PM
well, just for the brain thinking Smiley

1 company will not pay you directly 2k$ for your data, thats for sure, maybe 10 Cent or 1$, but you will get your ~2k$ by many companys aka data buyers altogether.

I think you can sell your personal datas for way more than this.

More than 10$ easily.

If you have the right data for the company which want to buy, maybe yes.

But still I wonder, why should companies like Facebook or others stop selling our data themself? I mean, there are companies out there who collect everything they can get from us, they will not just stop selling it now.

they will not stop selling, but they are the middle men. If companies buy directly from end users, they wont need the middle men anymore. I love the idea Smiley

Facebook will buy from you as well, you know
1525  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is it too late to buy bitcoin? on: October 08, 2017, 04:34:27 PM
Considering that now 1% of the population use bitcoins, assuming that 5 years later, 5% of the world population will use bitcoin, we can safely invest now. I took the figures from my brain, these are just my assumptions.

Probably over 10% considering industrial adoption will happen as well. If more local stores will accept btc more people will use it
1526  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Minereum - First Self Mining Smart Contract - ARTEMINE ICO NOW LIVE on: October 08, 2017, 04:18:54 PM
This coin will be one of the top 10 in the coming years. Just keep your coins.

Yep, instead of just fudding we should be patient and spread the word about MNE/ART that way more people would get know this and maybe the prices will go up Smiley
But what is there to inform people about? I am not trying to spread some FUD or anything, I am just truly interested what is so good about this coin that will make some positive progress in the future? Dev is anonymos, never communicate with people except making announcements. Only functionality for now is token creation, which to be honest I have no idea why choose Minereum over other coins that offer this service. World app was only announced and after that absolutely zero information about that.

Actually I have one question about world app that I already asked but nobody answered. Where will the coins for that come from? Dev is claiming that he doesn't have multiple Minereum genesis addresses. So where will he get coins to distribute in Pokemon like app or whatever it should look like?

Of course some will scream FUD or whatever, but there is so many question marks in this project and dev definitely doesn't help to clear anything.

Your questions will never be answered, and it will always be taken as fud... As there arent many that still believe in MNE..... The ones that say this project is good are either new and haven't researched... Or they are one of the select few with a Genesis address and they still want to sell their coins for $$$..

It's a fact over 3400 gen addresses are held by one or two people... Now take in the unused addresses which are most likely a part of those... And you have someone that is in total control of the coin.... This was a well planned scam, you'll never see a world app... The dev has proved nothing!!! Nothing to show since the launch of Mne..
Nothing...
What happened to the marketing for arte, the company in zug..the whole "dev always comes thru" is b.s.. It's sad I fell for the scam as a lot of other did as well.. I took my loss and make it up elsewhere, just hope someone can read this and save themselves before its to late...

3400 gen addresses belonging to one or just a few people, whoever they are, make this coin a farce. Decentralization is gone forever for this coin, so why bother getting some?
Why bother getting some? if you can have some at a cheap value, why not right? if the development is actually happening why not right?
Its just like bitcoin concept ion a way, if most miners the big ones, are the only one getting the mine bitcoins??? Why bother buy bitcoins?

I get what you're saying, but bitcoin has proven itself, it is facing global adoption, and it has a clear purpose. Minereum is used for practically nothing. If they had the world app in beta phase before they ever started promoting it, sure, it could've gone to be something truly great, but they didn't. So, the centralisation isn't really a big problem in itself, but it's pretty much another nail to minereums coffin. They could still save the project by:
1) being transparent and letting us know who they are and how many gen addresses they have
2) getting the lottery/world app ready
3) writing a decent whitepaper for both artemine and minereum
4) communicating more and addressing the scam-rumors
5) getting listed on binance/bittrex/poloniex

(in no particular order, allthough I'd start with 1 and 4)

1528  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] WaltonChain WTC on: October 08, 2017, 04:11:20 PM
Howmuch was this coin when it first started trading?

around $1 when it hit the exchanges / this forum.

according to the mods, a lot cheaper at ICO.

keep in mind this wasn't a typical ICO.  from what I've read so far, it looks like they just started selling them on binance.  WTC seems to have a deep relationship with binance, which means they would both have to be in on the scam...

but anyway maybe they didn't sell anywhere near all 100MIL tokens.  they put the price at 60 cents, instead of 6 cents for a sell-it-all ICO.  so they charge 10x and trickle the coins out as people buy them.  so the WTC guys would still control the vast majority of the tokens.  this would enable them to pump, dump, manipulate as they see fit, and binance could possibly help to hide it.

all speculation of course.

No no NO....smh...That's just flat out wrong.  Binance didn't even exist when Walton did their ICO.  All Binance did was a bounty program for Walton to get people to their platform (which is smart).  Binance did a bounty for BQX too where they gave tens of thousands of BQX away (which is smart).  Now they're doing an API BNB bounty (which is smart).

Walton's ICO wasn't a mystery, it just may seems like it to you because of the cultural barrier.  It wasn't really marketed to western societies, but that doesn't mean they didn't have a transparent ICO.

I wish I could upvote comments haha

How long was pre-sale? On their site I seen, that pre=sale started from 11 August to 11 September...
And why so long delat between pre-sale and crowdsale?  Roll Eyes

A lot of teams raise money, through a pre ico, for advertising and further development. They probably wanted to have enough time to create a working product, hence why it takes over a month

hm.. may be you are right.. May be they looking for big parthner right now?
I missed pre-sale, but ill keep my eys to this project and waiting for sale  Roll Eyes

Projects as ambitious as this one need big partnerships to actually pull off what they're trying to create. The amount of computing power it needs is almost insane. That's also a reason why they do presales, the more money is made during the presale, the bigger hype is created for the ICO, the more attention the project gets, the easier it gets to form partnerships
1530  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are ICOs scam? on: October 08, 2017, 02:40:07 PM
I just joined an ICO, is there any possibilities that I will be scammed. They have just collected $5-10 million.
You need to be diligent enough to check on the ICO and the team. you can't just base on the collected sales to justify if they are real or scam. So do your homework to protect yourself.

Check the team, if they have experience, are transparent, are active, are responsive, have a good roadmap consisting of risks, potential gains and flaws as well as realistic goals, its most likely not a scam

I will just add something here. I have backread this thread and your concern here is pretty much answered and explained by the posts. Try to go over the team's responses to negative comments. Try to look at how they react to these. A lot of scams do not spend time entertaining them or even deleting them or banning or blocking those people raising the concerns. Instead of properly addressing them, they avoid and cover them up.

That last thing, exactly. I once invested some money in a project I will not disclose. During the development stage, some evidence came up surrounding a possible scam, which simply was ignored. Not only that, communication in general drastically went down. Now, another project I firmly believe in, Change bank, was criticized for setting a very high hardcap, almost unreachable. It didn't take long before they released an official statement addressing this critique and returning trust to the project. The difference this small act makes is really incredible.
1531  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: red pulse ICO worth it? on: October 08, 2017, 02:39:54 PM
I'm extremely put off by ICOs with such large bonuses (there are other things I hate like crazy premine and big bounties but this is the worst). I can maybe see the point of 10 to 20% to encourage people to come and invest early but when you give away 30 to 40% bonuses, it just encourages profit takers. Imagine if you buy 100 at 1000 satoshi, and you get 140 including bonus.

Then ICO opens at 800. You sell 140, you STILL make profit. What happens? Price goes even lower. Everyone else suffers.

I think such a big bonus is a lot yeah. But it keeps happening with the new ICOs nowadays, especially with a lot of commercial investors now.
Crazy new world

They give those bonusses to make sure the hype grows leading up to the opening date. I don't agree with it either, allthough I do agree with large bonusses in pre ico sales
1532  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The next 100x-1000x coin? on: October 08, 2017, 02:34:50 PM
I see big names and coins already at $20MM or even $200MM post ico

Guys: the next x100 or x1000 has today a market capitalization of LESS than $1 Million.

Don’t even imagine 1second that something that is $200MM like Tezos will do even x10.

SONM is a fantastic project, I am a holder: but x10 is the very max short term.
Maybe in a distant future we see x100, but it is very uncertain.

As said: find the hidden gem at less than $1M market cap (remember Antshares? Monero etc : they started like that)
Find this coin with a product, a team, and still under the radar, and you will get this Hurracan or Aventador :-)

I get what you're saying, but Sonm can definitely go x100. A 4.4 billion cap is definitely achievable in 2 - 5 years

2-4 YEARS. yep. more realistic.
But imho other coins will do better since then... and it's too far away for me. We don't even know what the market will do in the following months (regulations etc...)
I'd rather look at 4-6 months fast raises when I speak about x100: OMG, NEO, KORE, etc...

Trust me, I hold SONM, and I love the tech. I believe it is going to do x5 to x10 in the next months (before xmas?).
I also hold low market caps: I did a nice ride on ELIX a few days ago, and got lucky to go out when the fud did spread regarding the max supply. Now it's challenged by the community.

I recently went on Jetcoin, it doubled since a few days and volumes are growing day by day.
It's moving to an ERC20 token, and is still cheap in the meantime because of this swap. They are laying the fondation for the re-launch of the coin.
Even better: it's what we call a "Fair-Launch" coin, meaning "no ICO": the launching supply is already on exchanges like Coinexchange.io .

Plus, I have legit infos that let me think that this one is up for a moon-ride very soon:

- nominated in the CBinsight top30 industry disruption, along side names like AUGUR (I'll let you google it, see position 18)

- REAL ties with the real world of sport (sponsored a football team, now have an institute for young talents discovery)...

... and with the music industry big names (the DJ from the black eyes peas)...

- COSS.io is tweeting about a partnership with them regarding advertising on TV.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rmg5PiamjhI
-> YES, banners during professional football games on the freaking TV, alongside COSS promoting their ICO. This is the real deal! no other coin goes that far.

and THIS: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DJQd29GXoAATpVn.jpg:large

---
The more you dig about this coin, the more you will find about the teams' already-done-work and how they are ALREADY present in the industry they target, ready to push the crypto-button...

Guess what the marketcap is....
That is a x100 potential.

Looking at it from a technical standpoint, Jet could easily go x5 in the next few weeks. x100 seems achievable but it'll take just as long as Sonm IMO.

I would agree in that.
Jet may raise faster in the very short term because of its very  low market cap and semi-stealth mode at the moment.. X10 is at the doorstep
Also, like SONM, the x100 is obviously not for tomorrow.

agree 100%

I just get noticed by Dragonchain from one of my friend.

Going to do some research on it. Have you guys done any research? Don't mind to share it?

Their website is quite clear, they have a few videos of a few minutes long that really show what the project is about. Also, I recommend researching the team (linkedin is a great info source)
1536  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Minereum - First Self Mining Smart Contract - ARTEMINE ICO NOW LIVE on: October 08, 2017, 01:35:38 PM
I'm shocked how many people still trying to push this even further though it was proven as scam.

I've lost a lot too, but I moved on weeks ago already.

Minereum and Artemine are a scam? What can you elaborate? I invested mne in artemine ICO  Sad what a shame

A few reasons why this might be a scam:
1) thousands of geneses addresses belong to a small number of people, likely the devs.
2) the devs have stated they basically have no idea how they're gonna build the world app
3) no one knows who the devs are

Now, either this is a scam, or its just a very, very poorly managed company. As the devs never struck me as scammers, I'm guessing its the second option.

Second option maybe, however, reason no 1 heavily weights

Exactly. THis wouldn't be any problem if they'd been transparent from the beginning, but now they're paying the price

How do we know that Datum won't sell the users' personal data stored inside their BigchainDB and IPFS database to interested companies themselves?

Quite simple answer, really - you have the key and that data you share is yours and yours alone. There are business-2-business applications which we are starting to unveil - http://blog.datum.org/ is going to be a dynamic place over the next couple of weeks.

There are multiple layers of data sharing, from anonymity to being able to contact you directly.

The core idea of Datum is to offer you guys and girls - a choice to take back your "digital you". My colleagues can provide a detailed technical answer, but the short answer is - no way.

Thanks man, I love how active and responsive you guys are!

Stox has lost its support from the media persons and I'm afraid now its price may go to the floor. Unfortunately, the project has exhausted itself. At least, all there is to it  Undecided

Where did you find that info? Could you post a link?
