15221  Economy / Reputation / Re: "I 'll give $5 in BTC to remove my red mark" on: March 24, 2016, 12:22:10 PM
At first I thought op is just playing funny.
At then end I see he is meaning it and doesn't get it that this can give him only more red.

Sometimes bitcointalk helps me get a smile easier than 9gag. This thread is one of those.
15222  Economy / Digital goods / Re: LIFETIME ANTIVIRUS (Really) on: March 23, 2016, 07:18:46 PM
Although it sounds almost too good to be true, you have rather small chance to sell. Reasons:

- newbie: you have nothing to lose if this is a scam (I'm not telling it is, I just cannot know)
- people try to make sure nobody installs trojans or keyloggers on their computer. There's no way to know for sure what are you selling.
- it sounds almost too good to be true, which rings the 'scam alert' bell.

You would have had better chancd with a high rank user, and / or escrow, and / or vouch copy.

And fyi, I don't ask for vouch copy. I better use free security software I know what I get than something like what your offer. The risk is too big. No offense.

Like you want, no problem, but why trash my possible sales. Bah...  Smiley

Actually I think that I helped you.
Your sales were not going well... actually they were not going at all Smiley

15224  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Why does the core wallet suck so bad? Dead people move faster than the d/l on: March 22, 2016, 10:08:48 PM
I advise you to use Multibit HD. Actually most wallets are just fine.

And for official wallet, if I remember correctly, if you fibd a bootstrap file to start with, you get much faster.
15225  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If you were rich, would you still gamble? on: March 22, 2016, 09:56:01 PM
A lot of people here gamble to become rich, but some do it for fun.

The question is, if you wake up tomorrow with 50 million dollars, would you still gamble for fun, or would you forget about gambling and do other stuff?

Gambling is meant to be done for fun. Else it has a good chance to ruin your life.
For now I am gambling tiny amounts and quite rare. But if I'd have 50M$ I would gamble morevoften and with real money. I would even get on a plane, cross the ocean and go to Vegas now and then....

I was not credited 10k satoshi.
I also requested yesterday cash out (some 10-15k sat minus fee) and I didn't receive anything.

So yeah, just some wasted time....
15227  Economy / Economics / Re: Factors That Make One Cryptocurrency Worth More Than Another on: March 20, 2016, 01:22:08 PM
I see 3 factors: brand, innovation, luck. Good dev team counts too. So it's 4.

If the brand is good the coin will have good community (or suckers, bagholders, ...)
If there's innovation, the coin has a chance to be the 1st in a niche. Copycats don't usually get very succesful.
And there's a luck factor. You need good dev team and few problems.
15228  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will I stay or Will I leave - Poll on: March 20, 2016, 10:06:31 AM
Bitcoin can be only one. All the rest are altcoins.
The approch Mike had - to leave - was not good neither for Bitcoin, neither for him (imho).

I understand that this involves much more politics than a dev would like, but leaving is usually not the best way to fight for your views.

I'd say stay and make your point of view stong and loudly heard. But whether that will be the direction taken or not, stay.

I agree. Try to learn to love the ride.
15229  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Bots attack! on: March 19, 2016, 07:27:28 PM
So how can you guys fight against the bot?

Indeed. Banning IPs makes no sense since a lot of ppl use proxies - for real or for bots.
And banning wallets just makes the owners change the wallets more often.
So I am curious what you can actually do excepting the use of good captcha sites.

The ad tells that you give 700 - 70k / dip. I got 100. Not nice.
I will check in a couple of times, though if the withdraw limit is so big, no chance to reach it without attending to a lot of promotions.

Will this bonus go to my account or to my wallet? I hope for the wallet.
15231  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I've got $20k to invest. Please recommend! on: March 18, 2016, 04:44:38 PM
Hey folks,

I've finally got around $20k to invest in long-term. No, unfortunately I cannot put this on a bank to get like 10-15% per year, I'd need something way more good.
What would you recommend? Mining? Other crypto?

Investors, please get me some cool ideas.

Thanks in advance,
Marcell

The only better way I can see for this is Lending. But it will eat up quite some of your time. On the other hand, there's even a chance to make a living off that.
15232  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: hello guys i want to mine suggest me here. on: March 18, 2016, 04:34:52 PM
What is the best miner for now and what is d best profitable cryptocoin to mine.

I want the best suggestion guys thank you

The best miner depends on what cryptocoin you want to mine.
So let's start: do you want to buy a hardware miner (ASIC), for Bitcoin-like coins or for Litecoin-like coins, do you want to mine with your GPU or CPU?

The profitability depends on how much you invest in the hardware, on the price you pay for electricity and on market, which fluctuates.

All in all, you have to give more data for better answers.

Hi NeuroticFish,
I am newbiew about cryptocoin,
Can I mine the coin(eg: doge, dash, etc) using a computer or laptop, begging to know give a little explanation

Thanks!

As a rule: if there's hardware miner for something, you better not mine with computer.
CPU mining is worthless.
Laptop mining is the best way to burn your laptop fast. The GPU will heat up and break.

Doge is Litecoin-like. Same algorithm (called scrypt). For those there was built hardware miner, making the mining with computer worthless.
Dash has an algorithm called X11. For that you may have a chance if you have a (actually the more the better) very good and very new video card.

You have to be, however, very careful, because there's still a good chance you'll pay more for electricity than you'd pay cash for the coins.
This is a world where you'll have to research a lot and learn a lot. There's no "best option" just like that.
If you indeed want to mine altcoins (not bitcoin) you should ask in the thread of the coin you want to mine.

Also, I want to make sure you understand: you'll earn pennies/day.
Doing some work for bitcoin or buying bitcoin with your money earned.. like any money, can be a much easier way to actually own cryptocurrency.
15233  Economy / Speculation / Re: Question to the real G's over here. on: March 18, 2016, 12:22:27 PM
Afaik they ask such questions only over certain amount of money. And 5BTC is not such a huge amount.
Worst case you do this in 2 dumps, to make sure you stay under 2k$
15234  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What affects Post Quality? on: March 18, 2016, 12:03:46 PM
If the check is 100% automated, the length of the post, the subforum where's the post and maybe even a check if it was quoted is possible (since it means it was useful and triggered a discussion) and could count.

If the check is made (partly or completely) by human, ... "the beauty in the eye of the beholder" - your post may need to be indeed helpful, not repeating, not very short and so on.
15235  Economy / Speculation / Re: 1 bitcoin = 200k dollars on: March 18, 2016, 11:57:50 AM
Big names work on quantum computer as we talk. If that comes to reality, the SHA-256 Bitcoin relies on will be cracked easily and Bitcoin will become worthless.
When that happens the financial world has much biggr problems than just Bitcoin being compromised! I wouldn't worry about things that don't exist.

I'm not worried. I was just telling that the time span to reach 200k is not infinite and depends on too many factors.
Let's be just moderately optimistic  Wink

It depends on how many people will want to have Bitcoin, how much Bitcoin will they want (and put in cold storage). If the numbers get big, the price has to rise accordingly. The sky can be the limit.

There are voices that even tell that one day the point will be moved 'to the right' to make it look more affordable.

we observed that technology is rising so fast this past years, and I think if this will continue we will develop a technology era. Where in this case I confidently conclude that bitcoin value will be proportion on this time if the technology is also give a very big impact in our life

Technology is not the only thing to take into account when investing in this.
A lot of whales with a lot of money to invest are old and don't trust technology.
Technology can be great but it can also fail. Bitcoin is made and maintained by developers, which are human: a mistake is always possible.
Big names work on quantum computer as we talk. If that comes to reality, the SHA-256 Bitcoin relies on will be cracked easily and Bitcoin will become worthless.

Don't take me wrong, I also wish BTC rise a lot. But let's get more pragmatic on this, mkay?

15238  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoins safe? on: March 18, 2016, 07:42:22 AM
Is it safe to keep all of my assets in Bitcoins? And how Department for Combating Economic Crimes, can affect my account?  What permissions they need , to freeze all my money ?

First of all, Bitcoin is - commercially - a high risk speculative asset. It's price rose to 1200$, fell to 250$ and now it's 400$. So you can't predict if tomorrow your asset will worth the same, double, half or nothing.
So I'd say it's not safe for all your assets. [1]

Then, Bitcoin is not 100% anonymous. Unlike some altcoins, in Bitcoin world people can see the content of the purse and some will be able to link that purse to you. [2]

Now, there are mixers, there are exchanges where you can mix through anonymous coins, you can keep a big number of wallets. You can buy on the street or from ATMs. All this may make point [2] harder, but it will cost you time and money. Still, point [1] is ... up to you if you consider it a problem or not.

15240  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is your plan to get rich with Bitcoin? on: March 15, 2016, 07:59:39 AM
Hey guys,

I just spoke to a guy over chat who told me his plan was to get 100 BTC, wait for the price to reach $5k per BTC and retire after that. Since he lives in a third world county, that might be possible for him. I know this is a simplification of the problem but I d like to know what s your plan. How many BTC is your goal, at what price and what happens once you reach that goal. After all, we have all been involved in a dream, why not dream it a bit more.  Grin

Buy / earn Bitcoin and alts and don't sell. Someday they will be big enough to help me fulfill some of my dreams.
The only flaw in my plan is that I accumulate too slow.

If ever Bitcoin will reach 1 Million $, then I'm set.
But I have to accumulate more and make plans for more realistic prices Smiley
