It usually takes time for your avatar to be updated. Had this same problem recently too. Just wait at least an hour or so, it will be updated.

Don't forget that exchanges are surely spending big money on website development, taxes, employees, miscellaneous fees, web security, all those stuff. Especially the security aspect. An exchange can easily easily go bankrupt or at least lose a huge sum of money with a single successful hack. Take a look at what happened to Mt.Gox and Bitfinex in the past. Security is not something they should just "meh, lets just spend a few thousand bucks on this". But it's true though, they do make a lot of money. But they also definitely spend a lot of money. It's definitely unnerving being a constant target for hackers.

Currently at 45.12%, via Livecoinwatch[1]. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.gyazo.com%2F27471c28676e4f48564de5cf14a3bef2.png&t=663&c=bGHFsFWWcwjvkQ) Is it good or bad? I think it depends on your views if you think bitcoin deserves the #1 spot or not. But of course, it is definitely good for bitcoin.

These kinds of scams has existed like forever; and I really don't know how people still carelessly fall for it. Like what the hell. Always double check the URL, ladies and gentlemen. Scammy URLs are almost always something like "blinance.coml" or "colnbasa.comi" or something. it doesn't take a computer or internet security expert to detect these stuff.

Bitcointalk was initially NEVER about members making money(I think). The purpose of The Bitcointalk Forum(just as with every other traditional forum), is to allow people of all age, gender, ethnicity, etc around the world to discuss, debate, and to ask questions for other people to answer. Basically to create a community.

A lot of people got scammed in the past and are continuing to get scammed through phishing links and scammy ICOs. One of the ways these scammers gain publicity is through advertisements: through Google, Facebook, Twitter, etc. You name it. This is probably one of the main reasons cryptocurrency-related ads are getting banned. I've yet to see a decent cryptocurrency advertisement.

Do your own research. If you're lazy on doing research, then investing is not for you.
I would like to receive an advance. And look for more options... Please, tell me what will give me a good profit. Thanx! Take a look at the Announcements(Altcoins)[1] subforum. New ICOs are announced there.

I don't think there's like a sort of "best time" to launch a campaign. It's probably only going to depend on how far the project has gone into, and how ready the team is in making the project.

Welcome to bitcointalk, BLOC. ![Tongue](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/tongue.gif) I'm a huge cryptocurrency fan and believer. I believe in TRUE crypto currencies. Sadly today i see a lot of ICO poping-up with never ending road mad, and no real products coming on the market... That reminds me the beginning of internet startup when only doing a small website could worth millions but then nothing happen after.
*Sigh* yeah. What's worse with most of those ICOs that it's very obvious that they're just cashgrabs; and what's MORE worse is that people still throw their money at them. You know it's funny in one way. Blockchain technologies are mostly open sources but it requires so much knowledge, time, learning investment that many people give up implementing blockchain tech's or crypto payments into their projects.
Though blockchain CAN be quite complicated (especially for those businesses in the non-tech world), I think the main reason why companies/businesses don't implement cryptocurrency transactions is due to the volatility.

Yes and No.
Yes because you could probably easily buy and hold bitcoin if you're in a country whereas the economy has gone to crap (e.g. Venezuela). You could easily go places with your bitcoin compared to as when you chose something like gold or silver as a safe-haven.
No because of the volatility. No other reason.

Check everything on their website. Their team, their whitepaper, everything.
But you know what the secret tip on not getting scammed by ICOs is? Don't invest in ICOs. Simple as that. Get in on the reputable coins instead. If you REALLY still want to invest on a certain ICO though, probably just put in small amounts. Just so you don't get rekt if ever the ICO you invested on ended up being a scam.

Bitcoin's volatility isn't necessarily because altcoins exist; and who says altcoins are a simulation of BTC's path? Altcoins exist because they each have different goals to achieve. Not every altcoin is made as a online decentralized peer-to-peer currency.
Altcoins go up and down because trading pairs are always with either BTC or ETH (e.g. SC/BTC, NEO/BTC, XMR/ETH, etc).

Technically you can do mining. But will it be worth it? Definitely not. Especially knowing that you're using a laptop. Take note that your hardware degrades over time, especially with heavy use; and most likely not all of your laptop's parts are replaceable. Some are soldered in.
If you want to make profit, but separate GPUs, or probably ASICs.

Website looks like a typical wordpress site, with little to no information about the company. Not even a demo of the exchange itself. You need to work on it a bit(if you're legit, that is). It's a no for me for now. Good luck.

It's really not a good idea to get in to the "moneymaking" phase immediately if you haven't studied enough.
It's up to you. It's either their manager hasn't checked your reply yet, or the campaign might be full, or maybe you're simply just not qualified to join. Campaign manager's check your post history to see if you're qualified or not. I just checked your post history just now, and guess what? You're not qualified. How ironic that you have the word "crypto" in your username but 90%-95% of your posts aren't even about crypto.
