15361  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Recommended Pools? on: December 19, 2019, 02:05:31 PM
I am using Nicehash for my 2 - S9's and 1 - V9.  It was easy to get started and my feet wet.  I know they are not a traditional mining pool, but I have also read reviews that highlight how Nicehash pays more.  Thoughts?  Was looking at Slushpool or CKPool as other alternatives.

Thank you.

Not a fan of slushpool

ckpool  is small block times  are long waits.

if you can afford to wait a long time for a block  you could use ckpool
15362  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Canaan A1066 Review. on: December 19, 2019, 01:39:27 PM
so I am running the 2 units and they run well

one in a cold room   30f
one in a warm room 85f

both average close to 50.4th

I have the one in the hot room  on a kwh meter for 156 hours

meter was at 2374.0  and is now at 2869.69

so 2869.69 - 2374.00= 495.69 kwatts/156 = 3.1775  kwatts an hour  or 3177 watts/50.4 = 63.0357 watts an hour.

I would compare this unit to bitmain's t17e

I have two of each

run time /up time

t17e  drops out in a cold room over and over and over.
a1066 works none stop 156 hours in a cold room.         cold room temps   20f to 40f

t17e runs steady in a 80f room
a1066 runs steady in a 85f room.

in a warm room

t17e does 54th     uses 3345 watts  about 62 watts a th
a1066 does 50th   uses 3177 watts  about 63 watts a th

price

969   t17e   ships jan 10-20
1075 a1066 ships now

based on the very close hash rate and power use they are close to a tie.
price is close due to a 20-30 wait for the t17e

reliability  I only have 2 of each item.  and the t17e is not reliable in a cold room  the a1066 is.

both are good in warm rooms.

If I could only mine with one of these two items  I would buy from avalon and mine with the a1066 it edges out the t17e.
15363  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: T17e review. on: December 19, 2019, 01:33:47 PM
yeah my one t17e running well in a warm room 80f
and my other t17e running poorly in a cold room 30f  this will soon be put into place in clifton the warmer room.
15364  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain introduces the Antminer S17 Pro, Antminer S17, and the Antminer T17 on: December 19, 2019, 01:31:33 PM
yeah they sent my t17 40th unit early it should arrive on mon 23rd.

and looks like my t17+ 64th unit will be late.
15365  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Special thread concerning bitmains coupons refunds discounts. on: December 19, 2019, 01:30:02 PM
update for my t17+  it is not shipped it is due to ship by dec 20 but  since I said I want the 64th version and won't downgrade to the 58th version it will be a late delivery.

update for my t17 40th model it shipped it was due to ship by dec 31 and shipped dec 19 which is early I suspect they did to to help make up for the late t17+

update for my s17 pro  no news due to ship on jan10-20

update for my refund for the s9k units 114 usd in btc it has not come yet.

it is due to this address

They said they will send the t17+ 64th model with a delay.

If I need  to drop a hammer for it being late I will do that.

First: I've been wondering about this for a while now, and although I don't want to point fingers, I do like transparency so here it goes: What happened to the "dividend" from airdrops based on Bitcoin holdings?

http://transition.obyte.org/ shows that treasurer address 1Eog8UqRFLufC71rBLt2nYgfUDskgxAyVF joined the Byteball airdrop with 500.00051 BTC (0.0771% share):

https://explorer.obyte.org/#OOUIJTHWY5PANA7P2YUJX67VVN2QZYIX shows the GBYTE (now called OBYTE) received on address OOUIJTHWY5PANA7P2YUJX67VVN2QZYIX: on 09.07.2017 13:58:44, approximately 36.174 GBYTE was received. Out of this, 0.0625*500 = 31.25 GBYTE was thanks to forum funds. At the time, this was worth approximately 7 BTC.

There were later airdrops too, and Stellar Lumens could have produced a similar amount based on Bitcoin holdings, but I don't think that data is publicly available.

15368  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: OgNasty Ponzi passthrough and ponzi fans.. BTC losses everywhere he goes on: December 18, 2019, 11:38:45 PM
1. Their is no proof.. Only a dead end.. But many here seem to believe that proof is not required, contrary to my and philipma1957's opinion, which is what creates this great divide in the community, between those who require proof to come to a solid conclusion, and those who do not..

This is at the core of the issue, as those who do not, realize their ability to freely impugn the reputation of anyone who crosses them is threatened by such a standard.

other possibilities og paid the 144 in coins with cash.

to someone that was owed the btc.

and that person does not want to be revealed.

this would mean og is taking a beating in this thread simply because he is preserving some one’s identity.

I want to point out. at first to this thread began with 2500 missing coins which became 1000 missing coins
which now really looks to be 144 coins worth just under 1700 usd.

i do sales i do passthroughs i do trades.

you could never understand my business by looking at the blockchain.

and my biggest account shows 350 coins passing through.

og has an address with 17500 coins coming in and out in the last 8 years.

i doubt very much that is the only way he does business.

look if you can show me someone that says og robbed the 144 coins directly from me i would be surprised.
ie john smith say og should have given me the 144 coins and did not.

as for obvious ponzi in 2012 there was no such thing since

pirate could have had 100000 or more cheap coins from 09 and 10.

so by creating the bank to boost price of his stack of coins it was possible it was not a ponzi.

these days this could happen with a coin like doge.

i have two trezor accounts one with 230000 doge and one with 140000 doge.

if doge went up to three dollars i would be a millionare.

maybe i would do a doge pirate club like the first pirate did.

the difference would be i would pay out in the hopes it would drive the price higher.

back in 2012 many may have thought pirate was running his club to publicize bitcoin and drive the price up.

there were very little coins to mine or use in 2012.

so to say it was an obvious ponzi is pretty much wrong.

to say it may have been a ponzi is more accurate.

do i think og gets a pass on this yes until

some one shows me he was not paid the 144 in coins and was due the 144 in coins og gets a pass.

i did read a thread saying og pledged the forums 500 in btc and got the equivalent of 7 btc worth of digabyte for doing this.
that seems more interesting than this thread.

so at the op why not see what you can find out about that?

i will look for that thread.

I was referring to this.

So og was allowed to earn 7btc as a bonus using forums funds.  but not risking them.  and theymos said : "I don't see it as a violation of the treasury agreement "

Maybe  he felt it was to pay og for the doxxing vod did to og.  Maybe theymos felt og deserved some $$  for vod's doxxing.

Which is why these threads need to come to an end.

15369  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: OgNasty Ponzi passthrough and ponzi fans.. BTC losses everywhere he goes on: December 18, 2019, 06:22:13 AM
You're killing me man.  Just read the thread please

It is getting getting exceedingly difficult to read all of this thread.. Passing my give a fuck levels..

tl;dr please
144BTC @ <$10?

Get to it if you want me to change my mind to "OG is a scammer"..

There's evidence that proves beyond a reasonable doubt that he stole BTC144.

There's evidence that he stole ~BTC1,000 , but not enough to classify as beyond a reasonable doubt.

When pirate sent him the funds he stole BTC1 = ~$11.80

If you think one of the most trusted users on the site deserves a pass because the bitcoin he stole was only worth $1,700 at the time , and you want to dismiss the other evidence that is was possibly much more, then you should give him a pass.

so 144 coins.

did not he repeatedly state he invested coins .

he did. lots of posts show he said he put coins into this pirate club.

so now you need to prove those 144 coins belonged to whomever.

i rounded a  bit
aug 6.    1 btc was. 10.75. x 66.8. = 725
aug 13.  1 btc was 11.86.  x 39.2. = 453
aug 17. 1 btc was 13.31.   x 38.0. = 505

I get 1683 in usd.

so did he simply keep that as it was what he invested?

we don’t know

was some of that paid to a third party investor

we don’t know

did it belong to multiple third parties and og kept it wrongly

 we dont know.

when og had 3 million plus in funds did he keep them safely
we do know answer is yes.

my biggest concern about og was he may have made some coin with digibyte in a gray manner.

not this.

to op when you can answer the questions we dont know let us know.

15371  Other / Meta / Re: Reducing (removing) airdropped merits for those who didn't earn 1 single merit on: December 18, 2019, 01:20:46 AM
Well if you go like this then what about the handful of legends that earn 1000 points after the 1000 were dropped.

Does my Philipma1957 account  get marked legendary2x  Grin

To suggest that air dropped accounts should be stripped merits almost 2 years after the system is in place  was not the way to do it.

To suggest starting from today to  dec 31 2020 if you don't earn  you drop 1 rank  will simply mean cheaters going to cheat.

No one with  legendary rank  set in place  had any sense of needing to earn points.

Also a hero at 500 figured fuck I won't earn 500 points. For us humans it is simply less then perfect solution  no matter what you do.
15372  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Now that usb sticks are being sold by sidehack here is a new usb hub thread. on: December 18, 2019, 01:14:04 AM
the hub uses a 60 watt brick so

.8 x 60 = 48 x .9 = 43.2 watts  if you are lucky  it should do 4-5 sticks.  does not sidehack still sell his hub?  His hub is pretty nice.

Custom firmware for antminer S17 https://bitok.shop/proshivka-dlya-antminer-s17-razgon-do-100-ths/
UP to 100 TH/s. Download fo free!

Note this is a free download.

But it costs dev fee of 3% to run it.

I did a break down it does increase the hash rate more then the dev fee costs.

At op please correct me if I am wrong.
15374  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Will hit 5500 ? on: December 17, 2019, 04:25:58 AM
Yes we could hit the $5500 area but it won't be from over-leveraged longs on Bitmex. 2018 was different, November came and everybody was long using leverage. Right now I am sure many people are short on Bitmex, we might see $8500 before we see $5500.

I don't know how much of this is true but on Bloomberg was the piece about Plus Token selling their Ponzi ETH and BTC coins which is leading to this decline. Might or might not be true. The ponzi was actually exposed back in June 2019 when the peak happened, so its possible it might of been the fuel from $4K all the way to $14K.

However reading this forum and the posts on Twitter and Reddit, there are too many bears at the moment and leads me to think that we might be near the bottom, pretty soon and much closer than $5500.

the floor for well prepped miners is about 4000.

I would not mind a drop from 6800 to 5900 maybe even 4900.

Not looking for it to go to 3900.
15375  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Number 9! Ninth altcoin thread. Back to the moon Baby! on: December 17, 2019, 12:48:57 AM
Has anyone noticed any improvements with quad channel RAM vs dual channel for mining RandomX?  I thought it might help, but it doesn't seem to make any difference on my first gen threadripper.

yeah my 1920x  seems to stay around 6000   with 11,12,13,14,15,16 threads 2 or 4 sticks of ram

but I underclock with eco it runs fairly cool and does not pull a ton of power.

but frankly  the 1st gen is merely okay.

15376  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Question about upgrading my Antminer S9s on: December 17, 2019, 12:43:05 AM
Another option is to find a host to send new gear to and keep your S9s running with your super cheap power. When the new gear is no longer profitable at the host you can move them to your location and retire the S9s.

the bold can work if he gets a few s17 and t17 plus of course a decent host.
15377  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Special thread concerning bitmains coupons refunds discounts. on: December 16, 2019, 07:27:55 PM
my situation almost the same as yours and was offered the T17+ 58TH for usd1203 instead of the 64TH and I took it. The previous order was canceled and credited to my balance and bitmain immediately issued usd150 coupon for that. So $1203 - 150 = $1053 and payment was made with the credits that is in my account balance.

Have not been replied to as of yet.  It is 230 am in China I will email them  in a bit  asking for what they will do.
