Believe it or not I still be Laptop CPU Solo mining and usually end up with a few of these:

PROOF OF WORK RESULT: false (booooo)

But it's just for fun while I'm working on the computer. You never know you could get lucky and get a nice surprise.  Grin

CPU mining is ok but what coin are you mining?

Solo mining BTC at 1.2 MHash/s

1545  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Are buying 3x USB Bitcoin Block Erupter ASIC Miner 330MH/s worth it? on: November 17, 2013, 01:22:20 AM
Buying one of these would be reasonable for solo mining on your laptop while your working in hopes of solving a 25 BTC block. The odds are against you, but the possibility is there. And for only $20 it's not too expensive. You won't make enough at a pool to be able to withdraw very often as the minimum is .01 btc usually.
1546  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: "Solo" Mining in a Pool on: November 17, 2013, 01:15:12 AM
Triple Mining is a good alternative because of the low fee and the weekly Jackpot. You can earn more than a regular pool sometimes depending on the luck and everyone has an equal chance to hit the jackpot.

1548  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did anyone notice that $1 million (7500BTC) transaction today?? on: November 16, 2013, 07:00:04 PM
I sent 1 BTC a couple weeks ago and accidentally had the fee at .00000001 BTC LOL. It took about an hour to go through but it finally did.  Grin

That's like saying you can only have one email address for your PayPal account.  Huh Or one screen name for your AOL!
1550  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Selling a RARE 10BTC 1oz Silver Casascius Coin on: November 16, 2013, 06:35:07 PM
It does seem ridiculous but most good Casascius coins are going for 3-4x premium. This is a beautiful coin and very practical for storing coins safely without a computer.

Oh LOOK another Pre-order! That means they do not have a finished product and most likely this will be a giant fail. I like credit cards just the way they are.
1554  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How long till the end of the USDollar? on: November 16, 2013, 07:55:43 AM
It's really not much different than Bitcoin other than the lack of auditing and privacy protection. The value in the US Dollar comes from the ease of use and infrastructure behind it. Just as Bitcoins are "created out of thin air" from mining and processing transactions.
1555  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is Apple the new IBM of our time? on: November 15, 2013, 03:22:41 PM
Apple really does suck. Why pay outrageous prices for pretty closed-source software, when you can build an inexpensive Linux machine that can do everything for free. It's more secure and all has everything you need to run a business online.
1556  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Should I join a mining pool and which one? on: November 15, 2013, 04:29:56 AM
I like Triple Mining because they have low fees, referral bonuses and weekly jackpots. Check out the link in my sig.
1557  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Solo mining with BlockErupterBlade ASIC? on: November 15, 2013, 04:27:46 AM
Run bitcoin-qt as Server by adding

RPCUSER=[username]
RPCPASSWORD=[password]
Server=1

to the bitcoin.conf file

Then point your miner to http://localhost:8332 in most cases.

One of the best domain names I've seen up for sale in awhile, and on Bitcointalk no less. Incredible BTC Sale!
