Finally an uptick. Hopefully this leads to a panic chain reaction all the way to 200.

Wasnt it already just 200 a few months ago?

Yes, it was, but with BTC @ 2000$ means that 1 doge was worth 0.004$ now BTC is at 10K$, so reaching 100 sat will means to have a value against dollar of 1 cent, much harder to achieve.... (IMHO)
Dont think in USD. A higher BTC/USD means there are more buyers for alts also. There are multiple worthless alts right now that are rallying against BTC even in the face of the BTC rally. Just look at "Einsteineum" which is just a Scrypt coin with a neat name and an altruistic donation request.

Doge will be the new world currency. Not bitcoin.

I'm imagining this 10 year flag where it drops back to nothing after government bans and then 10 years later it finally breaks 10,000 (or whatever ath was) again as we struggle to watch what is going on in decentralized exchanges and hand to hand transactions.

I guess it's more like it's flying into the sun because it's going to get regulated to death.

Individual governments can only regulate exchanges, payment processors, etc.

They can't regulate Bitcoin.
They can regulate exchanges and payment processors, they can pass laws that the average person will follow, and they can set up firewalls so only tech saavy users will be able to get around. Any of these will significantly lower the value. Right now at the current value we are here due to expecting massive fiat channels and big financial players with the full blessing of governments. Bitcoin will still exist without government approval, but not at this price - not for a while at least.

This is not looking good..

Sure it is.  Exhale occasionally.  Take a clean breath at $8200, and then hold it again if you like  Grin
I think it looks good. I've seen this chart so many times in Bitcoin now starting with when it broke out from $260 to $400 and retraced back to $260. It looked just like this.

When we actually crash it goes swift and deep and isn't going to take all day or keep going back up into previous levels.

Are closed altcoin profits in btc a realized gain? That wouldn't be fair because if I hold them indefinitely they will inevitably be worth 0 and uncle Sam isn't going to reimburse me.
If you trade any of your cryptos for crypto, fiat, or even goods, you're creating a taxable event on which you get a tax break in the case of losses and a tax bill in the case of gains. Doesn't really matter if it's Bitcoin, an altcoins or any other asset.

Apparently there are like-kind exchanges in the US which allow tax deferals, but I'm not at all familiar with how those work. If you could just flip BTCs and alts and defer taxes indefinitely that would be a pretty major thing.
If only I could trade in an ira.

From China and Russia to North America, virtual is the reality. It’s no longer a question of whether cryptocurrency will survive. It’s a question of what it will disrupt on its way to the top of the global finance chain.

-James Stafford-

Just using an example here. Facebook is a company whose product exists solely in the virtual. Whose stock is traded solely in the virtual. With currency that exists almost completely in the virtual. By people who live in the virtual at least 60% of their lives on their smartphones and laptops.

And the same naysayers will say that Bitcoin has no value in comparison?

The gaslighting is real.
I was very bearish on Facebook when it IPOd as well. I was upset that it has a value comparible to Google when google has 1,000 times more software and infrastructure and Facebook is a mere social network - just a simple UI. Nothing is keeping people from using a different provider than Facebook before there is nothing complicated or original about it. And now theyre pissing off their users with advertising and controls. I think it should be worth 0.0001 with the rest of the penny stocks. One day it will go the way of myspace.

Lets look at Facebooks market cap as the target maximum that will be invested in a speculatory bubble. Were halfway there. I called $20,000 four years ago.
