1541  Economy / Digital goods / Re: 50,000 AMEX American Express Points - Make Offer BTC/LTC on: March 05, 2014, 02:02:16 PM
Amex points are best used for airlines. Round trip coast to coast JetBlue as low as 18,000 points.

Round trip Premiere First on AirFrance NY to Paris on the new A-380, upstairs business class sleeper... 85,000 points. That's a $7500 ticket.

So in terms of Amazon, a waste.  In terms of airline ticket value, 50,000 points is $1500-4000 depending on the airline, fare, time of year, etc.

I'm selling because I have 500,000, can't use them fast enough.

1549  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / CPU Mining - MemoryCoin - Found Profitable Strategy! on: March 05, 2014, 08:47:02 AM
So all of our rigs are set up to mine litecoin... about 25 Megahash total.

However we went in and swapped out our Pentium chips on our ASROCK H81 BTC motherboards and replaced them all (12) with 4770K Intel CPUS.

Together using the new YAM miner; we are getting about 140-160 MMC per day.  Over a 30 day period; this works out to about .65-.70 BTC per month.

This all runs in the background on our rigs - and does not affect CPU performance. Only 1gb RAM required for new YAM Miner.

CPUs hold value very well. So our initial $3300 outlay for the CPUs, less 12 months at roughly .65 per month = $5200 USD mined.

Guestimating that after 12 months; sell CPUs on ebay for $200 each = $2400.

Initial Investment: $3300
Return:           $7600
Profit:  $4300

In addition; total AC draw for CPUs in 100% state is only 55w per CPU.

Yea, could work as a super catchy name for a pool, exchange, etc.

A lot of the exchanges have such odd names - its time for a "NAME THAT STICKS"!

I personally dont have the know how to develop it out so perhaps someone can take the name and run with it.

Comes with .com, .net, and .org - to protect from alt sites.

 Shocked

1560  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Need Advice - Is this a Money Maker? - Free AC + 30 High End Workstations on: June 29, 2013, 08:57:52 AM
Most of them are ATI Cards.  They systems are all top end.  I could, as mentioned - add 2nd GPUs to the systems as well.

No I wont get fired. I own the place. Our lease is full service - we lease a floor of a building.  There are other tenants on other floors. The building does not have floor metering - only a single master meter for power of the whole building - which is why we dont have to pay for power.

So, I guess - is this even worthwhile?  30 computers, all high end, running 12 hours a day (nights) plus weekends?  Or is this a waste considering all I've read regarding ASICs coming out.

Also - if it is worth it - would bitcoins or litecoins be a better route?  Pool or SoloMine?

Thanks for your advice!
