1541  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why NEM is now 4th on market capitalisation? on: May 19, 2017, 04:47:59 AM
OLD complicated ICO / Premine scheme that made some people rich.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=422129.0

Quote
HOW - TO

The fundraising is especially designed to promote fairness and egalitarianism. This is the first funding scheme of this type ever and we believe it is revolutionary in its effort to bring egalitarianism to the crypto industry.

If you do not have a Bitcointalk account yet, you need to create one to reserve a stake spot. Do not lose the account password, because you will need to access the account later to claim your share.

In the first 20 pages, stake spots are reserved only by showing "interest". After page 20, a fee has been introduced for late adopters. People who join after page 20 will still be distributed an equal share of NEM but they have to pay a fee to join in. Then after every 10 pages, the fee will be adjusted as a multiple of the initial fee. Another way to reserve a stake spot is to promote NEM to the outside community. Condition of promotion for a stake spot will be revised every 10 pages by the development team. We would greatly encourage you to spread NEM's idea to mainstream people outside the cryto-community even when you have already reserved a stake spot.

After we reach a critical mass, we will launch the NEM genesis block, (we plan not to have more than 4000 accounts in total, see FAQ below). A total of 4 billion NEM will be distributed equally to all adopters. That means every stakeholder will have an equal and fair share of NEM when NEM blockchain officially starts. Then you can sell- buy NEM freely and let the market forces determine the price.

One Bitcointalk account is entitled one stake spot. If you send more than the required amount at one time or multiple times, we will consider it a donation to NEM.

Oh and i have never had a "NEM" or "NXT" ever.
..nor will i.

I couldn't care less what they are worth of if they are ranked higher than Bitcoin.

PS:
In case it's not obvious i am not a fan of convoluted / complicated scammy little weird ass fucking distribution schemes.

We get bad press lately . In our image need to be corrected . Well here in the event it happens .

This type of thing is ongoing..

I seen this headline on my Homepage RSS feed (for TorrentFreak) recently and others.
6 guys are busted doing it in India because of the water marks on the content.
Then before that we had the Netflix Orange is the new black drama..

Not cool but fuck the studios etc.
They are not supporting me so i am not supporting them.

I support file sharing not rich assholes trying to arrest me for my P2P activity.
1543  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Spoetnik's Hitch Hiker's Guide to Crypto on: May 19, 2017, 01:26:18 AM
I'd say once you see how this all works it's just obvious.. no details needed.
The issue is complication and confusion.. which helps shitcoin dev's.

Lets start with.. a criteria.. GET ONE !

- What is an Altcoin and why are they being made ?

Since you have nothing to lose as you said and the first thing you did was "jump in" investing
and you apparently HAVE money to spare as a college student.
I'd say you are leaning heavily to being a profiteer.. like all the rest here.

I got here and fell victim to the rambblings of the Feathercoin team then moved to Litecoin permanently.
I was lured into FTC because of the criteria you mentioned earlier.
But back then there was only a few Altcoins and BTC had not hit $50 yet.
Back then i'd guess there was 50 Altcoin in total.. including Tenebrix etc.

So.. We simplify it all.

The first thing we need is perspective..
You can not ignore the amount of coins created mounts in time.
So you have to judge any new project on the fact it will be coin #3,203 etc.
Is making #3,203 justified ?
I'd say you need a better excuse than you do if it was coin #8.

Then I'd look at the point of it (the excuse)
Is it a currency ? Or is it a scheme of sorts tacked onto a block-chain ?

Then you need to figure out what it's initial distribution is and what you deem acceptable.
Such as Airdrops or ICO bullshit or varied levels of premines etc.
And what of those you are willing to support.

I could go on but it should be common sense really.. just don't let them all confuse you with White Papers and shill jargon etc.

Things like the dev's identity being posted is 100% meaningless.
Crypto is littered with an endless stream of "known" users who took the money and ran for it.

Bottom Line:
For me it's simple.. i am waiting to see if the Bitcoin Killer comes out.
And if it does it will be blatant / obvious.
There will not be any confusion or question or humming & hawing about it all.
You'll just know..

So what is left.. you are lookin' at it and as you said you jumped right in (investing)
So.. your investing in shitcoins

So what are you REALLY asking ?
Which pointless shitcoin is least risky FOR YOUR ROI'Z ?

Revelations:
The first thing that surprised me joining crypto was the morality confrontation.
I didn't realize it was going to be such a tantamount aspect to all this.
It's funny i assumed getting in it was all about tech & code etc.. digital stuff.
Then seen trading with emotions and rampant back stabbing shady greedy shenanigans etc.

So i am saying day 1 and for a while you need to establish what your moral stance is on this stuff is.
And it will likely grow and change in time and maybe with age / maturity.
(although some people are just criminals at heart)

The one thing i noticed that slapped me across the face was..
It's easy for you and me to be a little bit shady and greedy.
And in time i noticed the effects of this.. negative repercussions individually and as a whole.
So I'm saying if we all trade blatantly shitty coins for profits.. just a little
..it has a combined large cumulative negative effect.

1544  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [POLL] Crypto Currency Adoption on: May 18, 2017, 05:10:40 PM
If anyone disputes mass adoption would give us all mass profits ?
I'd love to hear why..

The votes so far have spelled it out.. there is no faith an Altcoin will get mass adopted.

And isn't that the point ?

Reality is no one cares about the matter.. they came here to profit.
They will claim to be a supporter then when the coin wanes in popularity they will dump hard and pretend they weren't involved.. and move on to what ever else is "pumped"

So tell me guys how can that be the optimal route for us all to take ?
You are all telling me that is good ?

It's one thing to talk shit and another to back up your mouth.
If the US government gets it's wish with Coinbase a hell of a lot of people are going to be shitting their pants.

Did you all forget you are suppose to claim your profits with the tax man in CAN/USA ?
And why now is the US govt fishing with Coinbase for tax info on LOTS of users ?
Hmmm KickAssTorrents ring a bell ?

uhhm what did i just say ? Cops are comin' ? (since 2013)
I warned you guys but your just going to push this corrupt bullshit until the gig is up then scramble stealing anything not bolted down and pointing the finger at someone else leaving the mess for the legit people to deal with and clean up.
And that is what is happening and i can rattle off an infinite amount of examples.

Altcoin gets mass adopted = 2 votes
That says it all right there !  Cheesy

I've said countless times you all lost faith long ago when it comes to adoption.
So.. you quit trying or showing any interest in it.
And when one scammy greedy cunt shows up you are all mostly then fueled to out greedy pig the next guy until this stupid bullshit gets more and more retarded.. and the cops come.

Faith comes with patience Wink
1545  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: XRP implied market cap is now larger than BTC's ! on: May 18, 2017, 04:57:53 PM
WOW eh ? Amazing how Ripple slipped under the radar and no one noticed it in the last 4 years.
Then all of a sudden BAM ..it's the future and the ultimate Bitcoin Killer™.
Who knew ?
Obviously none of you or you would have invested in it years ago right ?
(excluding the Ripple corporation who printed themselves money and handed out fancy titles of course)

Me i am just jealous..
I wished i got a fat payday and a fancy title when it launched too !
I wanted CTFO of Githubbery Sad
Or chairman of ROI's
Or one of the highly paid and coveted and very real "Advisers" positions.
1546  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How many crypto "schemes" are there and what are they called? on: May 18, 2017, 04:51:28 PM
Almost two years ago now i counted well over 6,000 ANN topics here.
Many coins never got one too such as Start Coin.

There is lots we all know that much.

Long ago i suggested the scene just number them..
Shitcoin #3,201
Shitcoin #3,202
and so on..

Because that is technically what they are.

Spoetnik Fun Fact:

There is close to 1 million accounts created here and when ever i look it says only a few hundred are logging in per day.

Know you know !
1547  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Dogecoin have a future? on: May 18, 2017, 04:42:08 PM
What good is a "coin" if too many are created ?
How do you side step that glaring critical issue ?

If you are going to use a coin as a currency instead of as an asset to hoard, then creating "too many" is a virtue.

People don't mind spending doge or tipping doge precisely because it is cheap and cheerful. Whereas they avoid spending bitcoin like the plague.

If a coin was to actually supplant the dollar for everyday use in commerce, it is more likely to be doge than bitcoin. Bitcoin is like gold - a shiny object to be hoarded, nothing more.

WOW.

Oh and the ole cliche'd tipping retort is old an dead.. as dead as Doge Wink
I never did see anyone doing that and i doubt many are these days.
Further more it's a currency it's not suppose to be cheerful or "fun"
..it's a utilitarian thing.
Would you say arms or legs or necks are fun ?
No.. they do a job.

LIEK OMG MY ELBOW IS SOO FUN'Z BRUH !!

You spew shit like the others here.. do you even crypto ?  Roll Eyes

Oh.. and another thing.. how about the topic ?
Care to comment ?  Cheesy
1548  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin Team Published a Roadmap For 2017 on: May 18, 2017, 04:40:04 PM
Alright fair enough..

But "Loaf Wallet" ?

You go first..

As long as "make LTC another ANON coin" isn't on the list then i am happy.
1549  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [POLL] Crypto Currency Adoption on: May 18, 2017, 03:56:48 AM
Realistically you are asking for everyone to be well read and informed. Only in a picture perfect world would this be the case.
<snipped>

Ya for sure i am aware and can't ague with you.
But you missed my point earlier about 2 key issues.

1) The hammer is going to have to come down on this crap.

2) The level of profits gained from patient investment + adoption would dwarf what we see now.

So i have for ages been saying hey guys from my view i see a better way.
And i think the key link is TIME.
The problem is the crowd who get here and want profit are not willing to wait.

Patience + Adoption = Large Profits.

Hell look at ETH or Ripple.. those guys started their shit then waited.. years !
The crew's behind those two scammy ass ICO shitcoins got their coins adopted..
By all of you HERE !

So they are now filthy rich beyond belief.
Butters sat on his 2014 ICO coins from Ethereum and now he's worth many millions.

That proves what i am saying guys.
You think i am just anti-altcoin or anti-profit.
I'm just saying you're selling yoursleves short.

Your investment money is valuable and should not be hurled at garbage projects for peanuts.
Demand more ! Demand better !

ALL of you could be the millionaire Butters with mass adoption and being an early crypto guy.
Or lower the bar more and more.. until the cops raid the exchange your coins are on.  Shocked
1550  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple XRP is a complete fraud GET OUT! on: May 18, 2017, 03:44:17 AM
hope that XRP will do the great job  in the future to prove that it is not a fraud like OP say and you will soon regret cause of not buying xrp

In other words you missed any and all criticism leveled against XRP and Ripple.
Which is how it works here since day one.. simply play dumb and chant WINNER !
1551  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple announces XRP lockup, locking up as many as 88% of its current XRP. on: May 18, 2017, 03:39:55 AM
This news is a smart play by them.
Will arm the fanboys with something to argue about.
Now that it's already pumped they don't care.. they will freeze it for a while.
Then if the change their mind later.. they can.

They hold all the cards and make all the rules and get all the money.

I am surprised they managed to climb out of the bad rep they started with.
It took them years though with a few new generations coming in to do it.
Luckily for them each new generation that comes in cares less and less about ideology
and more and more about ROI'z.

Which is playing out exactly how Ethereum did.

And so far i have seen the ETH shills come after Ripple.
So we have two horrible bullshit ICO shitcoins battling it out here now.
For greedy profiteer day trader money.

What will happen i have no idea (market price wise) ..it will be amusing i bet though.
There has to be some dumping obviously but how much i don't know.

I would advise traders to be smart.
Don't get greedy.. dump before those whales do (on you)
1552  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [POLL] Crypto Currency Adoption on: May 17, 2017, 07:15:40 AM
Since BTC has essentially failed it leaves the door open for an Altcoin to step in.
By failed i mean the amount of time you have to wait to get your BTC and the fee's.
It's the same or cheaper to use Interac eTransfer for example.. and quicker. (almost instant)

But the crowd doesn't care and sure as hell will not lift a finger.. cough cough Segwit.

I don't think the big players like Western Union etc are threatened by this stuff.
They see us simply frittering away our time playing "unregulated stock market for kids" games for chump change.
Knowing full well regulations will eventually put a damper on it all.

That is the end result of this piss poor profiteer mentality..
A fast tracked heightened looming set of regulations (we won't like)
Which is going to make adoption harder.

This never should have morphed into a centralized exchange stock market system scene.
Sure they were good as a temp fix but a new exchanges system is sorely needed.
And having the focus 99% on ROI's and day trading and pump's and checking your profits etc
..is simply a diversion from the actual goal we should be after.

Short term chump change profits are a diversion from the larger goal of mass adoption.
Mass adoption of one or more of these currencies would make you all rich beyond belief.
The profiteer circle jerk has to end.
Either you all end it or the regulators will !

Meanwhile opportunity slips by.. 8 years after Bitcoin we are no further ahead.
I've always said if you all think your Doge or Monero or Dash or Ethereum or Ripple etc is going to take over the world then by all means support them.. i just don't see it happening realistically.
And at the end of the day i just care about what WILL happen.. not what i *hope* will happen.

Too many users want to shoe horn what is available into the Bitcoin Killer slot..
I just think it hasn't been made yet and keep coming back to check if it has.
1553  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [POLL] Crypto Currency Adoption on: May 17, 2017, 06:36:23 AM
I see a scene across crypto around the world that is focused on profits.
That drive for profit seems to have little to do with which coins are deemed "adopted" or will be..

I think it's obvious users (the vast majority) are simply playing with what ever they think will give them profits vs being a supporter and investing in a project that has a future that includes mass adoption by the world.
I don't think anyone is going to argue with that assertion.

What is going to help adoption ?
Supporting it (adoption) or supporting anything that gives you profit ?

Get what i am driving at ?
Since i got here mid-2013 i witnessed Bitcoin shoot up to $50 a coin and the amount of users involved ballooned.
But.. what type of users are they ?

Are they users who are supporting crypto currency adoption or simply profiteers ?
I think it's obviously the later and i don't see that as a good thing either.
Who is left to further the cause ? Who cares ? Who takes action ?

For example..
We started out with ideology such as open source code and decentralization.
Those have long been shot & pissed on.. in the name of ROI's.

Let me highlight it for you all.
Countless crypto exchanges started doing a verification system and started complying with government requests.. such as Cryptsy or Poloniex or Coinbase.
Rather than rejecting this change in how this all works you all went along with it.

Decentralization ?
How so ? People who defend the problem with coins like Ripple or Ethereum say who cares ?

Do you see the point ?
You think adoption is coming ?
You think the path crypto profiteers are on is smart ?

So far all we see is things getting worse.. MLM scammers caught on and are here now.
We have a scene that revolves around Whales pumping coins as the big attraction.
Do you all want to move beyond that p&d crap ?
Don't you think mass adoption would give you far more profit and a more stable future ?

Wanting profits is not what i am against here.
I just see fools selling themselves short.. mass adoption = large profits.

I vote "If things change" (the path we're on is not working)
1554  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple XRP is a complete fraud GET OUT! on: May 17, 2017, 05:58:01 AM
Well if we wanna get into this topic i have to wonder what you all constitute a "fraud".
What does that equate to exactly ?
A crypto currency that is orchestrated and functions in a fraudulent manner *technically ?
Or you think the coin was "pumped" by an entity and there for will be dumped on creating a probably loss in ROI's for you ?

Then i would have to consider ok well do you think it's the guys behind the coin doing the pumping.
If not maybe it's the community whales at work pumping what ever coin they choose.

I suspect there was *some* deliberate pump activity combined with the attraction it caused after the fact for users to pile in as well.
I figure it's highly likely the Ripple guys (who ever that may be) seen other coins pumped in the last while and figured.. me too !
I don't have much for tangible proof though.

If reading what i just wrote above is too much work or confusing ?
Then the majority are just going to think.. ahh well.. fuck it.
I will buy some and profit !!!

We're dealing with profiteers with the attention span of a mitful of twigs.
Who don't care if it is a violation of ideology.
They care if the coin in question is going to get them profit.
If it's not ? SCAM .

1556  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Dogecoin have a future? on: May 17, 2017, 04:22:49 AM
Users need to look at what makes Doge different from other coins feature wise.
For starters if you want to talk about community then i'd go with Litecoin instead.
They have a proven die hard community that are not going to bail on you like the Doge dev + Doge "community" already did.

Then you have to look at spec's etc.
First thing that would jump out at me is the max supply of Doge.. it's not good !

Then what is it that made it even stand out in the first place ?
An unfunny meme ? uhhmm that is stupid  Roll Eyes

So when have you seen a meme go viral twice ?
It doesn't happen guys.

Then you have to look at the players in the scene.. they already did that.
They already did the Doge thing and probably don't want to repeat it all.
Further more it was timing.
Crypto exploded in popularity and Doge was started during the wave of that time period.
So.. i am talking about coin difficulty while mining.
The "Diff' was easy back then.. compared to now.

I could probably go on.. but well who cares right ?
Any coin that got popular before will always have cheapo coin buyers looking for that price bump to profit.
Anything 1 sat and previously popular is going to have guys buying them up and then running here trying to pump it up so they can cash out.
So i doubt Doge will ever fully die.. just linger forever like a bad disease.

I don't care what you all do.. i am just trying to get naive users to look at the facts.
Wanna buy/mine Doge coins etc ? Go hard guys.. i'm not going to stop you.
1557  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple XRP is a complete fraud GET OUT! on: May 17, 2017, 04:08:29 AM
Welcome to the world of trading, you dont sell the coins because you saw a steep fall in price, ripple does have an acceptance in the Japanese banking system and there is no doubt that the price would recover in the future,so you can either buy now and average your price or wait for the long haul.Hope you have noticed that all of the alt coins went down today.
Acchain is China's block chain project called the asset collection chain, it is completely open source assets of the digital platform and tools to let the world's assets flow up to barter. You can go to the official website of the asset chain to see more information.https://www.acchain.org/en/index.html

the chinese always want to have their own. you can always try them and risk an investment but i'm definitely not into it. i've been warned about those antshares and those warning didn't fail me. it wil ltake time before that will be used by untrusting chinese themselves.

They did.. ChinaCoin is old bud.  Roll Eyes
What happened is they really didn't care and it never really got going big.
Sure they care about crypto but it's about profits.. not what you said.
If "American Coin" was going to make them rich like BTC did they would be all over that.
They chase the dollar like anyone else..

I think Americans are obsessed with patriotism and are nasty with the jingoism so they cast that attitude / mentality on to the nation of China and partly because of China's dictatorship which makes it seem that the Chinese are focused and directed at things.
You think the crap China does is because the people want it done ?
Fuck no hahahha
It's because their leadership dictate everything from what religion they are allowed to use to what tech or web sites they are allowed to have.
So when you see that.. you think China's wants their own coin.

Nope.. they want freedom.
Freedom would be global.. an INTERNATIONAL currency.
Such as Bitcoin.. not "China Coin"

As usual your commentary here is, well.. bullshit.  Roll Eyes
You're a blow hard profiteer puttering around thinking you "know things"

In reality we all want the same thing.
To be free.. and rich and famous etc.
I myself am not interested in some "Canada Coin" agenda ROFL
The future is global and that is what crypto is about.. not regional AUR style coins.

China + Crypto seems to be a never ending thing with conspiracies.
1558  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple releases 333 million more Tokens on: May 17, 2017, 03:55:21 AM

Ripple scam, have you ever heard about it? That garbage has around 12 billions of dollars market cap! This is only crazy, nothing more.

When this scam was popped, lots of people will be angry. Trust me.

The #2 is supposed to be a scam? Nice try. Did you miss the train?

Do you consider scam coins as trains? Pitty you...

I had an acquaintance contact me to discuss cryptocurrency. He is new to the scene. I have decided that if he makes it clear he is of the mindset of "I don't care if it is a scam or will hurt crypto, I just want the ROIZ" I will summarily punch him in the face and advise he stay the fuck away. These guys are a cancer.

Funny you said that.
During late 2013 i had family members ask me about crypto.
For example my brother was interested and i gave him the run down then i quickly set him up a wallet and showed him how to backup the .dat file to a USB drive and then transferred to him a hair under a grand worth of BTC.
(I kinda owed him for some favors he had done for me helping me move + DMG deposit on rental etc before)
So i was more than happy to hand it over to him plus i had plenty to spare.
So..
His response when talking about trading etc was.. who cares fuck Bitcoin i just want money (profit)
At that point i was pretty much done.
I was disgusted by this attitude and disappointed.
He did not share my interest in it like the way i did.
In hind sight i kinda don't blame him though.. it's nerdy bullshit really.
But i never did talk about Bitcoin / crypto stuff with him ever again.. no idea if he has his BTC still.
Actually i should ask him and tell him he's got close to $2,000 now LOL

But that mentality permeates crypto.
And it's only gotten worse in time.
That is who is surrounding Ripple or any of these coins these days.
Real honest to god supporters are few and far between.

Sorry crypto guys but i have 0 respect for 90% of you.
You shouldn't be here.
You bring nothing to the table.
All you do is show up and suck cash / money / fiat profits out of the system.
You contribute next to nothing.
1559  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple XRP is a complete fraud GET OUT! on: May 16, 2017, 05:51:30 PM
Very interesting discussion. I am new to Ripple and I am trying to understand whether it would make sense to invest in some XRP. I am not here for quick bucks, I am here as a big fan of blockchains.

I invest confidently in BTC because I believe in the technology. The more the technology becomes popular, the more BTC will be worth. This is because you need BTC to use the blockchain and the BTC protocol does not allow issuance of BTC beyond the planned maximum cap.

I am interested in Ripple because I read it is a very efficient blockchain system and because many banks are adopting it. The problem is, if I understand correctly, that increase in popularity of Ripple does not mean increase of value of XRP because (i) banks do not use XPR for their Ripple transactions (not clear what they use...maybe their own coins?) and (ii) because Ripple is a private company and the Ripple blockchain is controlled by this company, thus they could issue more coins if they want to do so (even if this would create inflation and decrease the value of the coins they already hold).

Is this correct?

Then ask them how they secured the private keys to the fortune their sitting on.
1560  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple releases 333 million more Tokens on: May 16, 2017, 05:48:27 PM
I recall asking one of Ripple's representatives a while ago at a conference about who stored their private keys, and how well were they protected, given their pre-mine and their centralized nature of control over so many XRPs. Basically, if those keys ever got out, it would be a disaster. He did not have an answer.

You probably gave him ideas hahhaha
Watch.. one of these days they will roll out "News" saying WE BEEN HAXED !!11ONE
But all of you would already know because there would already be mass dumping on idiot profiteers.

And look around how often does that shit get pulled ?
Name an exchange or coin and it's been exploited.. hell this forum has been multiple times.
GOX ? Ethereum ? Cryptsy ? JackpotCoin ? NXT ? BTER ? POLO ? Mining Pools ?
This idiotic bullshit is far less secure that people think or..
The more likely answer.. the greedy idiots running this crap simply like stealing the money and running.

If you don't have the private keys they say what now ?
And what does Ripple say about that ?
Nothing..
